Finn Page 15

Finn flicked his tongue across her swollen bud, again and again, pressing the tip of his tongue down a little harder each time, as Emmy tightly gripped the bedding beneath her. He loved that she was giving herself to him so completely, and he loved the way she tasted.

  But he wanted more.

He slid his arms beneath her leg so that her legs were now over his shoulders. Then he grabbed hold of her hips, pulling her even closer, before he pushed his tongue into her, as deeply as he could go.

“FINN!” She cried out once more, as she tilted her hips up towards him.

Suddenly Emmy grabbed hold of his hair with both of her hands, crying out as she came hard against his mouth, her whole body trembling with pure and utter pleasure. It was unlike anything Finn had ever experienced before, but now that he had, he wanted more.

Finn quickly released her from his grasp before he climbed up over her. He needed to be inside her, he needed to feel her body come apart once more, and he needed it now. He pushed her dress up her body before he pulled it over her head, then he made short work of her lace bra.

He stopped for a moment to take in the sight before him. She was simply breathtaking.

Finn reached for the belt on his trousers, yanking it open, then pulled opened the zip and pushed them down just enough to free his throbbing erection. He needed her, and he couldn’t waste another minute.

He leaned down over her, claiming her mouth, as he reached down between them and positioned himself against her warm center, ready to take her.

Lifting his head just enough, he looked down into her eyes, as he pushed his entire length in as far as it would go, and he was rewarded with a moan of pleasure from Emmy.

“Jesus,” He groaned against her lips as he continued to thrust into her, with slow, even movements. “You feel so good, Emmy. You are so fucking amazing.”

Finn knew that he wasn’t going to last too long, but after weeks of imagining what it would be like to make love to her, he wanted to make it last at least a little bit longer, so he kept his movements slow, allowing the pleasure to build inside them both.

As they moved together, almost as one, Finn knew in his heart that Emmy was meant to be with him. She was everything he had ever wanted, and the best part was, she wanted him too.

Unable to hold back anymore, Finn pulled her closer to him, as he drove into her over and over. Once more Emmy held on to him, crying out as her whole body seemed to tremble as she came apart beneath him.

As much as Finn didn’t want it to end, he couldn’t hold back any longer, as he erupted deep inside her before they both crashed back down on the bed.

“I love you, Emmy Warner!” Finn whispered breathlessly, as he scooped Emmy into his arms, pulling her close to him. “I swear to you, I am going to love you for the rest of my life.”

Finn woke with a start, for a moment he was confused by his surroundings. He had no idea what had woken him, but his heart was racing, and he was now wide awake.

He looked over at Emmy who appeared to be sound asleep next to him. He smiled to himself, as he watched her sleep. Everything about this girl was just so perfect. He knew she had her ghosts, but there was nothing that would ever stop him from loving her.

He thought about what had happened earlier that day at his parent’s house, and a wave of sadness rushed through him, as he recalled his conversation with Liam.

After she left the house that day, Finn just stood there, not really sure what the hell had just happened.

“You’re sleeping with your student?” Callum exclaimed, his words pulled Finn back from wherever the hell he was.

“Now is not the time, Cal,” Finn sighed as he scrubbed his face with his hands.

“Have you lost your mind?” Callum continued, never one to hold back on how he was truly feeling. “You will lose everything if the University finds out, and all for some random girl.”

“In case you haven’t noticed, Asshole,” Finn said surprising everyone with his comment. Finn rarely swore and never ever called his brothers any names. “I have already lost everything. And for the record, she isn’t just some random girl, so don’t you ever fucking talk about her like that again.”

“Finn!! Nell exclaimed surprised by Finn’s reaction, but he didn’t respond.

Without saying another word, he turned and walked out of the dining room, then hurried up the stairs to the bedroom where he had spent most of his childhood. Once he was in the bedroom, he sat down on the bed and buried his face in his hands.

How the hell did you fuck this up so badly? He thought to himself. Emmy’s face crashed into his mind as he recalled how hurt she looked before he let her walk out of the house.

Suddenly there was a soft tap on the door, and Finn lifted up his head from his hands.

“Mom, can you just give me a few minutes,” Finn called out, knowing exactly who was on the far side of the door, but the door opened anyway.

“It’s not Mom,” Liam said as he pushed open the door all the way cautiously stepping into the room and gave his brother a nervous smile.

“Liam,” Finn said as he stood up. He knew that whatever happened between his brother and Emmy was not Liam’s fault; he just wasn’t ready to talk about it yet. “I know you think you owe me some kind of explanation, but I swear you don’t. I just don’t want to talk about it right now.”

“But I think you need to hear what I have to say,” Liam said as he walked across the room, sitting down on the bed. “And I’m not going anywhere until you listen to me.”

Finn wanted to tell him, to just get out of his room, but he didn’t. Something in his brother’s eyes stopped him.

“Fine!” He sighed impatiently as he walked back to the bed and sat down. “What is so important that you must tell me?”

“I know Emmy,” Liam began. Finn’s stomach clenched, knowing he really didn’t want to hear all the sordid details of how his brother fucked the girl he was in love with. “But not in the way you think I do.”

Finn looked at Liam, and for a moment a tiny bubble of hope appeared somewhere deep inside him.

“I met Emmy the day her father was killed in a car accident,” Liam began, surprising Finn with his comment. Liam told him how he was the one that had gone to the college to tell her about the accident, how he had stayed with her in the hospital when she had to identify the body. Then he told him about how he had bumped into her almost a month later in a diner.”

“When she left,” Liam said as he explained what had happened that day. “Something in the way she thanked me didn’t feel right. I don’t know why, but I felt that it was like she was saying goodbye. Something just didn’t feel right.”

Finn stared at him and listened to every word his brother said.

“After lunch, she was still in my head,” Liam continued with a sad smile. “So I got my partner to drive to her father’s house. I just wanted to be sure she was okay. I knocked a couple of times, but there was no answer, so I thought maybe she wasn’t home. I turned to leave, and about halfway down the path… I just got this feeling. So I turned and walked back to the house, but this time I looked into the window, and there she was on the sofa. I could see all of these medication bottles on the table in front of her, next to a bottle of vodka and I knew what she had done. I kicked in her front door, but she was barely breathing.”

“You saved her life!” Finn exclaimed as he realised how much of a giant ass he had been. “And I was horrible to her.”

“In fairness, I would have thought the same thing as you,” Liam offered, and Finn gave him a grateful smile.

“What happened next?” Finn asked, needing to know the whole story.

“Well, it was touch and go for a day or so,” Liam continued. “She had really wanted to end it when she downed all those pills, so she took enough to kill an elephant. She woke up four days later from her coma, and I made sure she knew how lucky she was to be alive. Then I asked a girl I knew from high school, Gabby, to get her a job where she w
orked, and eventually, Emmy found her feet.”

“You know Gabby?” Finn asked, remembering Emmy talking about her before.

“You bet your ass I do!” Liam exclaimed with a grin, and Finn instantly rolled his eyes

Finn glanced over at Emmy sleeping, and smiled, grateful that his brother had saved her life back then. He lay back on the pillow, staring up at the ceiling and sighed, as his smile faded. He hated the fact that her life had been so awful, that she thought her only option was to end her life. It broke Finn’s heart to imagine she was ever so sad, so he vowed he would do whatever it took to make sure she would never know that sadness again.

His eyes were just growing heavy when Emmy cried out in her sleep. Finn realised what had woken him before. Suddenly she began to scream, thrashing about in the bed.

“Emmy!!” He exclaimed, as he took hold of her shoulders and tried to calm her down. “Emmy!”

She opened her eyes, and for a moment she looked confused, and beyond terrified. But then she realised where she was, also who was with her, as the fear left her eyes and was replaced with a look of sadness.

“I’ve got you,” Finn whispered, as he wrapped her in his arms. “It was just a dream.”

“Yeah,” Emmy whispered breathlessly as she curled into Finn’s side.

“Are you okay,” Finn asked, sensing that something wasn’t right.

“Umhmm,” she replied, but Finn could hear the quiver in her voice.

“Emmy?” He asked as he pushed up on his elbows. “What is it?”

  She didn’t reply.

“Emmy,” he repeated, as he reached out taking hold of her chin, tilting her face up to meet his. To his surprise, her tears were glistening in her eyes. “What is it?”

“It’s just a dream,” Emmy insisted. “It’s been a long time since I had it. But it’s one I used to have a lot.”

“What was the dream about?” Finn asked, unsure if she would want to even talk about it.

“Nothing that matters,” she repeated. Finn just pulled her closer to him, holding her tightly. “It was just a dream.”

  Chapter 17

Finn woke up and smiled when he felt Emmy against his chest, still fast asleep. It was amazing to wake up with her next to him. It was something that he wished he could do for the rest of his life, but he knew that it might not be as easy as that.

Finn knew that having a relationship with Emmy wasn’t as easy as he wished it could be. The University had rules that there was really no way around. The worst part was, Finn knew that while he would be in trouble, as he had tenure, he would most likely just get a slap on the wrist.

For Emmy, it was not that simple. Having a relationship would almost certainly mean that she would be kicked out of school; that was something that Finn really didn’t want to happen. No, if they were going to do this, he knew that they needed to keep their relationship quiet.

He knew however that keeping their relationship a secret from his family was not something that was likely to happen. After what happened at the Thanksgiving dinner the day before, he knew his mother and father would have a lot of questions. Still, maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing. Finn wondered if maybe he should go and talk to Landen or his mother regarding the possible fall out if their relationship became public knowledge.

But for right now, Finn was determined to make the most of his time with Emmy and worry about the rest of it when they went back to school the following week.

Suddenly, Emmy began to move, then she slowly lifted her head, and she gave him a beautiful smile.

“Good morning,” Finn said as he reached up, softly brushing her face with his fingertips.

“Good morning,” she whispered, smiling once more.

“How did you sleep?” Finn asked, as the memory of her nightmare the night before filled his thoughts.

“Okay,” she replied, and Finn was unsure if he should mention the dream or not. He wanted to know every part of her, and that meant the bad parts too. Still, it was their first morning together as more than just friends, and Finn didn’t want to ruin that for them. “I’m starving.”

“Well, how does eggs and bacon sound?” Finn asked as he sat up on the bed.

“It’s my turn to make breakfast,” Emmy replied with a smile, as Finn gave her a confused look. “The morning after Halloween, remember?”

“But this time is different,” Finn said with a smile as he leaned down, softly kissing her on the lips. “This time I am not just your professor, and you are not just my student.”

Emmy smiled, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes, and Finn knew that there was something wrong.

“What’s wrong?” He asked as he gave her a worried look.

“Nothing,” she replied as she shook her head, but Finn knew there was something she was holding back.

“Please don’t do that,” he said as he looked down into her eyes. “I need you to trust me, and that means you tell me your fears, as well as the good parts.”

“You’re my professor,” Emmy admitted, and Finn knew it was hard for her to be so honest with him. “I know right here, in this apartment, where it’s just you and me, that doesn’t matter. But out there, in the real world, it matters very much.”

“I know that this is scary, Emmy,” Finn replied, giving her a warm smile as he reached out, brushing her hair back from her face. “I know because I am scared too. The last thing I want to do is to cause you any more trouble. That’s why I have tried to fight these feelings I have for you. I tried to do the right thing. But the truth is. I am so completely in love with you, Emmy. I promise you; I will figure this out. Whatever it takes, I will do it, so we can be together. Because I can’t imagine living my life without you in it.”

Finn leaned down, kissing her once more, as he moved his body to cover hers with his.

Finn leaned up, above her, staring down into her eyes before he claimed her lips once more. This time his kiss was deeper and full of need.

He took hold of Emmy’s hands, pinning them to the bed above her head, as he kissed her even harder.

He slipped his legs in between hers, as Emmy instantly adjusted herself to allow him in closer to her, Finn didn’t miss a beat. He pushed his erection into her with one fluid movement.

This time, there wasn’t the urgency that they had both felt the night before. They both moved slower, with so much tenderness, Finn could almost feel the love that Emmy felt, spill out from her body with every touch, and every kiss.

As Finn rocked into her over and over, he laced his fingers with hers, staring down into her eyes. Finn could barely breathe, as the love he felt for her almost consumed him.

He crashed his mouth down against hers, as he pushed into her harder. Each thrust, the tiniest cry came from the back of Emmy's throat, and it was Finn’s undoing.

“Emmy,” he growled against her mouth. “Oh God! I love you so much.”

He erupted inside her but didn’t stop until Emmy threw her head back, crying out too. Finn didn’t move from above her. Instead he found her mouth once more, as he softly pressed his lips to hers.

“Why do I have to love you so damn much,” he whispered against her lips. “Why does the simple sound of my name on your lips send my heart and my mind into a free fall?”

Emmy didn’t reply. Instead, she just smiled up at Finn, but at that moment he didn’t need her words because the look in her eyes said everything that Finn needed to hear.

He knew she loved him too, and nothing else mattered to him.

“So, do you like my eggs?” Emmy asked, giving Finn a questioning look, then a broad smile, as they sat at the little table in her kitchen and ate breakfast.

“They are pretty amazing,” Finn grinned, but then added. “But that doesn’t change the fact that you should have let me cook for you.”

“I wanted to cook,” Emmy assured him, refusing to back down. “I do know how to look after myself.”

“I know you do,” Finn sighed, then added with a la
ugh. “I can tell I am going to have my hands full with you.”

“Yes you are,” Emmy replied, laughing too before she returned her focus to her food. Finn just smiled as he watched her closely for a few moments.

“What was your dream about?” He had the words out before he had even thought about it, and the moment she froze, he regretted asking the question. She looked up at him, but she didn’t say a word. “It’s okay. I shouldn’t have said anything.”

“It’s okay,” she replied as she set down her fork on the table. “I dreamt about the night my mom died.”

“Emmy, you don’t have to tell me anything,” Finn repeated. “Not if you don’t want to.”

“I want to tell you,” she replied, but Finn could tell that she wasn’t being completely honest. Still, he didn’t say anything. If she wanted to talk to him, he was going to let her. “I dreamed that I was back in the store with my mom, and that guy came in. It was exactly how it happened. I was standing at the counter picking out some gum when he came in and held the gun to my head. My mom was down one of the aisles, and the moment she saw the man with the gun, she came rushing towards the counter. I don’t know what happened. I guess he panicked. But just as my mom reached me, he turned and then there was this bang. The first thing I noticed was my face, it felt like I had been sprayed with warm water, but then my mom just dropped to the floor.”

“Jesus,” Finn said, unable to even comprehend what she had lived through.

“The only thing is,” Emmy replied as she swallowed hard, Finn knew she was trying her hardest not to cry. “In my dream, the guy doesn’t run out of the store, like he did that night. Instead, he takes his mask off, and it’s my dad. He just looks at me, and said that it should have been me, not her.”

“Is that what you think?” Finn asked. “That it should have been you and not her?”
