Chaos (Kings of Carnage Book 1) Page 5

by Hilary Storm

“Hey, man. How’s it going? I haven’t seen you in a few days.” Jinx is the first to greet me at the bar.

“It’s been goin’. Can’t complain.” The hot as fuck bartender hands me a beer and walks away before I have a chance to ask for one and more importantly… to ask her what her name is. “Shit. Who’s that?”

“Her name is Chrissy. Church brought her in as one of his charity cases. Said she’s been dealing with an abusive ex.” I let my eyes explore her for a few seconds but stop when I hear Vic and Bates causing a scene at the door. They’re both trashed off their ass and being obnoxious, but that’s a normal sight around here.

“Chaos. Get your ass over here. We have business.” Vic’s half slurs send me walking across the room with the rest of the officers. “Everyone to the table.”

I’m the first to sit, only a few seconds before Poe does the same right next to me. Church sits across the table and everyone else flops into their seats except Vic, who chooses to stand at the end of the table to address us all.

Vic starts talking loud enough that I’m sure the guys outside can clearly hear what he’s saying. “Tonight, I’m proud to announce that the Kings are moving into a new direction. One where we will never again have to worry about money, guns, drugs… or any fucking thing we goddamn want. Hell, even prime pussy will be in high supply around here.” I listen quietly while the rest of the room grunts and howls at his announcement without even knowing the details.

“Dominic Ramirez has come through on his word and starting tonight, we’ll be moving a different product. He has set up a sample for us to test and both Bates and I can personally say the merchandise is top fuckin’ notch.” He grabs his crotch in a vile attempt to show his appreciation to whatever the fuck this merchandise is he’s talking about.

“I guess it’s my fuckin’ turn then.” Gus stands and starts for the door.

“Hold up, Gus. There’s some for all of us. We’re supposed to all arrive at ten tonight and you can’t wear any identifiable shit. So, take off your cuts and wear something that doesn’t have to do with the club.” One look at Poe and I know I’m not the only suspicious guy in the room.

“That’s less than an hour to have your asses ready. We drive the trucks tonight. No bikes. Dismissed.” And just like that the room erupts with the sound of chairs scraping across the floor and grown men acting like idiots.

“I’ve been waiting for this fucking day for months.” Gus walks up to Vic and they both celebrate a win that I’m still left in the dark about. Poe and Church leave the room in a hurry, neither one of them smiling or even half as happy as the rest of the guys.

I’m still new in this room, but I’m hardly new in the club and being left out of details that seem to be huge for the entire organization pisses me off. I get that officers can’t make everything transparent to everyone in the club, but I’ve been on the track for this position for years.

“What’s this merchandise you’re talking about? How do I need to prepare?” I ask Vic expecting him to disclose the details, only he laughs, slapping me on the back and passing it off casually as he dismisses me.

  “You’ll know soon enough, Son.”

I set out to find Bash in the Devil’s Den and it doesn’t take me long to spot him at the pool table.

“I’ve got some deal I have to go to. Not sure what’s going on, but it seems big.”

“This whole officer thing is making you busy.” Bash knows not to ask any questions. He also knows I’ll tell him everything as soon as I can.

“Yeah, it has.” Sly chimes in too just before he leans over to take a shot at the final ball on the table.

“Yeah, I know. Believe me, I’d rather skip the shit with them and tear things up out here with you guys any day. I’ll text you when I’m done and see where you’re at.”

“Sounds good.” Bash hits me with a fist bump and I take in his calm and easy demeanor to still my own uncertainty about what I’m about to walk into.

It’s a quarter ‘til ten when we all pull up to a warehouse that was last deemed empty by my records. My first glance around the building and I can count no less than seven suits outlining the building on security watch. I’m sure there are more lurking in the darkness… there always is.

Before we’ve all stepped out of our trucks, Dominic is walking through a side door and approaching Vic.

“Good evening, Vic.” They exchange handshakes before they turn to approach the building. The rest of us follow behind. I hit the back of the line and take in everything around me that I can. I’m not the only one doing that, Poe is right in front of me doing the same.

The warehouse has been changed since the last time I was here. There are lots of crates and some type of half assed construction being done in the back half.

“Stand here and I’ll have someone bring them out.” I observe as Dominic simply makes a motion with his hand, which triggers a guy to open a door. Through the open space I can see women blindfolded and handcuffed naked, all huddled in a corner. Each one is wearing headphones to further take away their senses.

“What the fuck.” I forget to keep my thoughts to myself and Vic doesn’t miss my response as he whips his head around to watch me.

I keep my eyes on the girls and watch as nine men each man-handle a single girl through the door and stand them all in front of us. Chains bolted to the floor are then used to secure them all in place before all the suits move away.

The sight in front of me sends chills up my fucking spine.

I’m all for the thought of women being at my beck and call… but this is completely different. The cries tell me they’re not here willingly. They’re not gladly here to initiate into our club by fucking an officer by choice. They’re chained up like fucking prisoners… hell, worse than prisoners these girls are stripped naked and blinded.

I stand still even though every single ounce of blood in my body is telling me to lose my shit and end all of this, but I have to hold back. This is not the time to attack. I’m highly outnumbered and would be signing my death certificate the second I move for my gun.

As if Vic knows where I stand, he puts me on display before I really have the chance to reel it all in. “My son, Chaos, will be the first to choose tonight. Kings… we are here to solidify our agreement with Ramirez into the slavery business. There’s only one thing off limits; don’t let any of the girls see you. Keep the blindfolds on.”

“All of these girls are prime pieces who would sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars if they were virgins. Some of our girls are low-life scum hookers or strippers that our customers like to put down and treat like the trash they are. Some of them are proper and even hold out their pinky when they drink. That’s the beauty of this business. Every man has a different taste… and sometimes a man wants to taste something different every night. We give them that freedom. And we make a lot of money doing it.”

“That’s where we’ll come in. We’ll deliver the girls to Ramirez in exchange for money or supplies we need. Plus, our relationship with authorities here will give Ramirez the room he needs to conduct business without some deputy snooping where he doesn’t belong.”

My insides erupt in disgust. Vic has planned this entire thing out and I don’t know how deep his roots go on the subject. Since I’m a King, I’ll have to go along with this and what Vic says, or I’ll face the consequences of betrayal. He won’t let me get away with disobeying him a second time.

With more than twenty men nearby, easy that would kill me for showing any sign of discomfort, I work hard to internalize the shit I’m feeling and walk forward to inspect the girls as if I’m interested in my gift.

Their whimpers and cries scold my soul as I stand in the middle of them, wishing I could save them all. I walk around in a figure eight style through them all, looking for something that stands out over the others and gives me reason to choose.

It isn’t until I see a small tattoo that I know which one I’ll be taking with me. Even
though it’s not an inked angel… the bottom just dropped out of my gut with the sight, nearly making me sick before I could see that it wasn’t.

“I’ll take the middle one in the back.” I turn around one last time, taking in each life that I can’t save, that’s instead being thrown to the wolves with half of these guys, whether I like it or not.

“Take her to the back room and set her up. He’ll be in shortly.” Dominic sends one of his goons to take the girl away for me.

She fights him. Thrashing and kicking as much as she can. Her cries pierce my ears as I’m forced to stand by and watch the guy hit her over the head to knock her out and finally carry her over his shoulder, baring her entire ass to all of us.

I look to Poe and Church and see the same look of anger that I’m feeling, all the other officers looking like starved and crazed animals ready to eat their next meal.

  Chapter Eight

I keep pacing back and forth waiting on the girl to come to, weighing all of my options. I finally decide to force myself to look composed and try to save this situation. I’m highly outnumbered here and I need to plan my next move very carefully.

I casually look for another exit while I walk toward her, hoping to ward off anyone who might be watching. The camera in the corner is pissing me off and only makes things worse as I contemplate getting us both the fuck out of here.

Stay the fuck calm. I need to look like I’m ok being here.

The one thing I know for sure is that I won’t be fucking this girl like they expect me to. I won’t be teaching her a lesson or whatever it was they were saying. There hasn’t been a day in my life where I was desperate enough to have a girl knocked the fuck out just to be with me. And if the time ever comes for that, well then, I guess I’ll be jacking off solo for the rest of eternity. Because this is wrong.

Her being chained up is wrong. The fact that I know she was kidnapped is wrong. Her being unconscious is fucking wrong. The list goes on and on.

I’m face to face with her lifeless body. Her head is hanging limp and the muscles in her arms are pulled tight from the tension in the ropes that have her bound. Before I can stop myself, I’m reaching to brush some of her hair off her cheek only to find it stuck against the blood of an open cut on her jaw.

Gripping her chin lightly, I move her head to look at the other side of her face. Once I know it’s unharmed, I circle her completely and inspect every inch of her body, slightly relieved when I only find a couple light bruises on her legs and sides.

My anger grows the more I look at her naked body, thinking how easily Elaina could be in this same position if these fuckers are picking up young girls at random.

I spot a chair at the table and choose to sit in it and contemplate what I’m going to do. I don’t know this girl; do I really care about getting her to safety as much as I find myself wanting to? It only takes me a few seconds to shake my head and know the answer.

She’s not here voluntarily and that’s all I need to put an end to it. I just have to figure out the best way to get out of this situation with the least amount of backlash.

Screams from the other rooms begin to make my skin crawl and I find that I can’t just sit here and let this shit go down. We are fucking Kings. We don’t need this kind of shit to make money or get what we want.

I open the door to the little makeshift room we were given and I’m not five feet down the hall before Vic is in my face. “Already done with the girl?”

“No. I’m not fucking doing this.” I notice Spike walking towards me just as I shove Vic against the wall. My grip on Vic’s neck is brutal and my glare is even more vicious. “This shit is wrong and we both fucking know it.”

“This is the way to grow the club without killing ourselves. One tiny bitch is worth nearly a truckload of guns. And I’m tired of you second guessing my fucking authority now that I’ve let you have a seat at the goddamn table. You think you’re all of a sudden better than the authority of the club and can decide which orders you obey. Fuck you, Chaos. I’ll have your little spot filled by tomorrow morning if you pull any bullshit.” He bucks back and shoves me against the opposite wall in the hall.

I shove him back and grip his neck tighter, not letting him have any relief even when Spike is standing right at my side. The whole time I’m expecting a knife to the gut at any moment.

“Let him go, Chaos. I won’t tell you again.” The pressure of the gun in my side has me finally releasing my grip, but I still don’t let Vic off the wall.

“Is this girl mine to do with as I want?”

“She’s yours until morning.” I shove off of Vic and walk back to the room more pissed off than ever, hoping to see the girl awake, but luck just doesn’t seem to be on my side tonight. I slip the rope from the hooks that have her anchored against the wall, quickly freeing her from the spot where she stands and bend just enough to toss her naked body over my shoulder.

My one and only focus is the door as I walk down the hall and through the rest of the warehouse without saying a word to anyone. The commotion behind me doesn’t stop my progress, but before I have the chance to put the girl in my truck, two of the Ramirez goons have their guns pulled on me.

I’m about fucking tired of seeing the end of a gun tonight and it’s not like me to let them all get away with it, but I still ignore them both and open the door to put her inside.

  “You’re not taking the girl.”

“She’s mine for the night.” I close the door and turn to face them, catching a glimpse of Ramirez and Vic coming out of the warehouse.

“Chaos. Isn’t that what they call you?” Ramirez yells from across the parking lot as he stiffly walks toward me. “The girl cannot leave the grounds. You will die before your truck moves an inch. Think very carefully about your next move.” I know when I’m in over my head and I know when to act on a whim. This is not the time for impulsiveness, so I move aside and let them get the girl.

It takes everything in me not to move quickly and slice all their necks open, but I know I’m outnumbered and would inevitably start a war I’m not equipped to fight. She finally starts to come to, just as they drag her body out of my truck. Her screams pierce straight through my heart as her head swings behind the large suit who’s taking her back inside over his shoulder.

Without saying another word, I get in and slam the door to my truck and speed through the parking lot, knowing I’ll be in deep shit the next time I come in contact with someone from the club and actually surprised there’s no bullets hitting me in the back of the head.

I’m dialing Bash before I’ve made the turn down the road. “I need you to meet me at the back section of the Jackson property. Get North, Jinx and Sly and tell them this is a confidential run. Not a word to anyone about it and make it fucking quick.” I don’t leave him with any further information and end the call as I speed down the dirt road, watching my rear-view mirror for anyone following, not even taking a breath of relief when I see it’s clear.

The truth of the matter is, Vic is going to have my ass or worse. I’ve now defied him multiple times and now in front of a man he considers a business associate. I know what’s coming… hell, usually I’m the one he’d call to handle someone who betrayed him for less.

  I know the rules.

  I know the consequences.

But that doesn’t mean I’ll go down without a fuckin’ fight.

  Chapter Nine

I choose the back of the property, hoping to gain a little time before Vic finds me. It only takes the guys about twenty minutes to pull up, so my adrenaline is still at an all-time high just thinking about where Vic is taking the club.

Once all four of them are standing around me, I take a deep breath and just start talking. “This might be the last time you see me alive. Tonight, I went against the club… it actually makes the second time in just a matter of days, so I know there’s no escaping this. Vic will be out for blood from me and I just wanted you all to know I’m gonna die holding on to some
fucking morals that should’ve never been tested.” Each of them adjust their stance a few times as I speak.

“Vic took all the officers tonight to a warehouse. We were each given a sex slave to do whatever we wanted to with. Before the girls were handed out, Vic made the announcement that we’d be shifting into the direction of capturing and selling women instead of our already profitable ventures. This pissed me off and even though I could hardly see past the rage as I stood there outnumbered and listened, I later found myself alone in a room with a naked woman who was knocked the fuck out because she was scared to death and fighting for her life. I can still hear her fucking cries. All of them. They weren’t there willingly like the Club Ass we have more than enough of. They were young girls who had been fucking kidnapped, blindfolded, and then stripped of their goddamned clothing.” Bash is the first to move. His anger is showing through loud and clear in the expression on his face.

“There were at least twenty guys with the operation there, not to mention all the Kings that were there to put a bullet in my head if I tried to release all the girls… which is what I wanted to do.”

“So what did you do?” I can see the wheels turning in Bash’s head. He’s worried and seeing the big picture of what this all means for me.

“I cut the girl I had free and took her naked body over my shoulder and walked the fuck out the door. I was met at my truck by three of their guys and Vic. I had to give the girl up just to get out of there, but I know Vic won’t take my disrespect lightly. He’s already pissed that I wouldn’t give him the Gadzinski girl, which by the way is the same girl we helped the other night when we went to save my sister.”

“Fuck.” Bash gets just how fucked I am.
