“She certainly did.” The voice came from behind them this time. A nun pushed a wheelchair holding Father Cossa into the room.
“Sister Francis here has been taking very good care of Mary Ellen and me,” he said with a twinkle in his eye. “I want to hear everything and don’t leave anything out.”
As Cardinal McKenna and Father O’Farrell watched, Cardinal McKenna turned to Devlin, “Do you think Anthony will accept a new assignment?”
