As she listened, her heart was melting. Emily knew for sure that Liam really loved her, the realization hit her so fast that her heart began to race. He didn’t betray her, he never cheated on her. He was still hers after all. She needed to get her man back.
Daisy smiled as she saw the smile on her friend’s face. “That smile could only mean one thing. That means Kate and I can go back to what we were doing before. All the best girlie. Go find him before it’s too late,” Daisy said, standing up.
Before they left, the three hugged and then they all walked out together.

Daisy met Nick at the beach and she couldn’t help but smile as he came closer.
“The call came sooner than I expected. Your plan must have worked,” Nick said.
“Well, I’ve done my part, everything relies on them now,” she replied.
“Okay, by them you mean, Liam and what’s her name again?”
“Emily.”
“Yea, so are they together now?”
“I don’t know, I have done my part as a good friend and It’s not my problem anymore. But I think they will be, really soon.”
“Well, I’m glad. So, can we take a walk together?”
Daisy smiled. “Sure but not before this...” she said, bringing his head lower with her hands and pressing her lips firmly against his.

“Your room is really nice,” Kate stated as she climbed on the bed. “I almost missed seeing this.”
“Oh, thank you. It was expensive! so I’m happy it’s proving to be worth it.” Luke replied, climbing on the bed to meet her. “So, what about Liam? I hope I won’t get punched or anything, and hope no one is going to call again?”
“Liam is not my problem anymore and everything is perfect. Now are you ready or not?”
“Oh, I’m ready when you are,” Luke replied and they both chuckled as he pulled the blanket over them.
Love Comes Around
It was a beautiful starry night at the beach. Everyone was sitting down under brilliant stars. They were sitting in twos. Music played loudly from somewhere around the campfire. She recognized XYLO’s voice immediately. It was one of Liam’s favorite songs and it was coming from somewhere around the campfire at the shore. It wasn’t all that loud but it was loud enough for her to hear the lyrics.
Sometimes I feel like I can't remember
Waking up with you when we were together
I lost my temper, you left at midnight
We saw the tears fall like rain on the headlights
It was always you and me
How could we be nothing, nothing?
I know that we don't speak
But if I could ask you one thing, one thing?
It was like the song was talking to her directly. It had always been both of them together and she had lost her temper and had driven him too far because she couldn’t forgive. The song was bringing tears to her eyes and she began to regret how she had acted. Slowly, she walked towards the campfire and sat down, staring into the fire as she listened as she cried.
Why can't we fucking get along?
Forget everything we did wrong
'Cause you've been the one
You know this will never change
But every day, I still wait for you
No, I don't want this to be true......
* * *
Liam saw her face, bright where she sat crying, his heart went to her. Taking slow steps, he walked towards her and sat beside her.
I still wait for you
(But every day, I still wait) I still wait for you
(But every day, I still wait) I still wait for you
I still wait for you......
When they were finally sitting down together, neither of them said anything. He waited to see her reaction and realized since she was still sitting and not saying anything, she was willing to listen.
“I got my heart broken by my ex before I met....” he started, “She left me at the aisle and ran away with another man. I should have waited to heal before rushing into our relationship but I didn’t. I thought I needed someone else to take my mind off the brokenness and the sadness and that was when I met you. I never knew I was going to fall in love with you. I had thought it would be just something for a short while...hat morning at the restaurant, I saw her picture, her wedding picture and I panicked. I was not enough for her, so how would I know if I was enough for her. I was insecure, I was scared and I allowed my past to mess with my present. I started seeing signs where there were no signs, I started comparing you two together and I got so messed up inside .”
Emily was looking at him now, listening...
“I knew it was wrong for me to push you out but then you brought up Outer Banks, this was where we had wanted to have our honeymoon, so I became further away from you.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t want you to think I had feelings for her again because I didn’t. I was just wallowing in self-pity and I destroyed what we had.
Lately, I can't sleep, I flip the pillow
Tossing and turning and checking my cell phone
My head is a mess and so is my bedroom
I write a text then delete it, "I love you"
.......
She gave me no explanation on why she did what she had to do. She said I was inadequate. This was a lady we planned to settle down. She never showed any signal to indicate she wasn’t interested. Later I realized she had blocked me. That was when I moved down here and I met you and....everything just clicked between us and I thought I was finally getting over her. Not until I saw those pictures of her wedding day.”
It was always you and me
How could we be nothing, nothing?
I know that we don't speak
But if I could ask you one thing, one thing
.........
“I started thinking maybe I was not enough for you too and I was so confused. I got in touch with a shrink who made me realize I was messing things up by shutting you out and by my incapacity to let my past go. I tried to make it work but I was just so messed up and I didn’t know how to do the right thing again. I am so sorry.”
Emily smiled.
“You know, before I met you, I had just gotten my heart broken too. I found out that my ex cheated. He told me. Before he came to confess, he was withdrawn and he wasn’t talking to me. In fact, he did everything you did. I saw all those signs and I knew you were keeping things from me. I was so scared. I started comparing you two and I was afraid you might have done a similar thing.”
Liam took her hand in his, looking deeply into her eyes. “We both made the mistake of not dealing with our pasts before we met. We thought we were enough to heal us. I shut you out, baby it will never happen again. From now on, you will share in every part of my life, both good or bad.”
Emily smiled. “I would love that. I am so sorry for being so stubborn and being so proud, I just ....and I forgive you for using your ex to make me feel jealous.”
Liam was surprised. “You knew? How?”
“The name rang a bell when I heard it and I checked your Facebook, plus you know you once logged on my phone to access your Facebook account and with some info from her as well, especially, seeing her with Luke tonight and they were all cozy… I had to ask them.”
Liam smiled. “ Well, thank God there are no more secrets between us.”
“No more secrets baby, swear it.”
“I swear.”
“God I missed you so much!”
“I missed you so much.”
Slowly, Liam brought his lips down to hers. That moment the song changed.
Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come, my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday
They said "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong
>
You're still the one I run to
The on that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night
......
“Oh, look, it’s our song,” Liam said, standing up, while she did the same as they began to move to the voice of Shania Twain. Later they realized they weren’t the only ones. Most of the people who had been sitting were now standing up, all holding their partners and moving slowly to the song.
From across the fire, Emily spotted Daisy, who was also dancing with Nick.
“Oh my God! The plan worked.” Daisy shouted excitedly. Then she waved at her friend and she waved at her back.
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still…
“So, are you still going tomorrow Liam?” Emily asked.
“If I’m going, I’m going with you. Nothing will come between us ever again. “Liam replied, looking deeply into her eyes.
“Well, we should stay and enjoy our vacation then.”
“Whatever you say darling, as long as we are together.”
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night
I'm so glad we made it
Look how far we've come my baby......

Liam and Emily are both lawyers in a powerful city. So when Emily’s career skyrockets, Liam understand that she has to take the opportunity as it comes.
It’s a little easier said than done, however, especially when Liam’s adorable girlfriend makes standing him up a thing. Both of them have busy careers but they’ve always made the time for each other. Liam kicks himself but the thought that he wishes his girlfriend weren’t quite so successful crosses his mind.
Chasing ambition after a huge legal victory, Emily buries herself into work so deep that Liam can’t reach her; he begins to feel forgotten. She takes on extra work to prove herself with the firm that has already praised her.
When Emily finally realizes her folly and what’s - rather who – is really important to her – will Liam still be there to understand?
A Surprise For Emily
“Congratulations darling, sincerely I wouldn’t have asked for another lady in my life...you are everything that a man truly needs.”
Emily smiled as she and her boyfriend drank to her success. She knew she deserved this major success at her place of work, she had worked her ass off.
Liam put his glass on the stool beside the bed and moved closer to her, kissing her on the side of the neck while she giggled non-stop. They were at a suite at Beacon, in Washington DC, to celebrate her grand breakthrough at work.
Emily knew she was lucky to have a man like Liam. Even though they both worked at the same la firm and she had achieved this huge success, he had been incredibly supportive. She was indeed lucky to have him, other men would have been jealous of her success but not Liam, he was her rock.
Liam stood up and took up the glass, half smiling.
“Close your eyes, baby.”
Emily eyed him suspiciously. “Why?”
Liam scoffed, shaking his head. “Seriously, you want to ruin the whole surprise by being stubborn?”
Emily smiled. “Come on, Liam, you know surprises always make me sweaty?”
He smiled and brought out a parcel, laying it on the table.
Emily was confused. When did the parcel get to his hands and when did he bring it in? She hadn’t seen it with him when they were kissing earlier.
“Liam, what’s in that parcel?” she asked excitedly.
“Well, you will have to find out,” he replied, smiling.
Quickly, Emily tore open the parcel and gasped as she brought out a pair of red heels. “Jimmy Choo...” She breathed excitedly, flinging both the shoes she was wearing off her feet she bent down to wear the new shoes.
Sitting on the table Liam helped her adjust the heels each to her ankle as she flung her hand in the air excitedly.
“Oh my God!” She screamed, caressing the shoes on her legs. “These are beautiful..so beautiful.” Then she stood up carefully to maintain her balance and then threw herself on Liam.
“Darling, you are the best in this whole wide world, I don’t know what I would have done without you,” she cried as she said this, clinging to him tightly.
Liam laughed. He knew exactly what would thrill her. Emily wasn’t someone that would be impressed by a diamond ring or, a car, or clothes, the only thing that would impress her is shoes -and not only shoes- designer shoes!
Though they worked together they have a different disposition to different things. While Emily loved everything that has to do with fashion, most especially when it comes to shoes., he, on the other hand, was not the fashion type. He could spend all his money on books or technology.
Emily wrapped the shoes up and sat beside him, still excited about her latest additions.
“Thank you so much, Liam.” She started, placing a hand on his shoulder. “You have been with me every step of the way. There is absolutely no way I could have done this without you. You are my rock Liam and I bless the I met you.”
Liam smiled, caressing her cheek with his hand.
“You are the most industrious lady I have ever know and, winning that case was just to crown all the efforts you have put in. So you don’t need to thank me at all.”
“No, no, Liam, baby, I need to thank you. Do you know how many times I canceled each of our dinners? Do you remember how often I had to come home late? Yet, here you are, still with me, by my side.”
Liam smiled. Of course, he remembered, but, they both did so much.
“Baby, I also did the same, occasionally either of us has always had to put in extra hours or stay late at work… so, it’s just something that we have come to understand about the nature of our job.”
Emily sighed and nodded. He was right, they both understood the nature of their job so there was no problem when one of them had to cancel dinner or either of them had to cancel at the same time or get home late. But Emily knew even though this was quite common between them, she had always been the one who always had to bail. But thankfully, all the efforts paid off and now, here she was.
‘What are you thinking?” Liam asked, sipping his drink.
“Just how lucky I am to have you,” Emily replied, leaning closer to bring her lips to his. It was a soft and passionate kiss which ended quickly as their phones beeped at the same time, so they had to part.
“It must be work,” Liam said, reaching for his phone which was on the other couch. The only time their phones would ring or beep at the same time was certain to be from work.
While Emily searched for her phone, he was already scrolling through the text. His expression changed quickly as he read through the text. He looked disappointed.
“What is it?” Emily asked as she saw Liam’s look, still searching for her phone.
“I didn’t get nominated for the partnership,” Liam said, throwing his phone
bag onto the bed.
“I’m so sorry baby.?”
“Yea. It’s okay.”
Emily was frustrated. Where did she put that phone? She thought. ‘Baby, please can you call my phone? I can’t find it?”
“Sure.” He replied, taking his phone and started dialing her number. The phone rang somewhere under the stool and Emily found it on the floor, it had dropped when she was trying to wear her Jimmy Choo.
Liam sighed. He had wanted that partnership and now, it has gone. He studied Emily whose face brightened up immediately.
“Oh my God! I got it! I got it!” she shouted, dancing and jumping.
Liam was confused. “What?”
“I have been nominated for the partnership!” she shouted.
Liam's heart did a double flip. “You?”
She nodded excitedly. “Yes...”
Overdoing It
Liam was speechless. This was something he had been working his ass off to get for months and now his girlfriend just got it. He couldn’t believe it, but knowing he needed to be happy for his successful girlfriend, he stood up with a smile and moved to her, putting his arms around her.
“I have no idea how you do what you do, but you are the best of the best...”
Emily smiled, resting her head against his chest. “Thank you, Liam, I know how much you have wanted this.”
“Well, at least you got it, you deserve everything baby and I am so super proud of you.”
“I just can’t believe I am one of the nominees, I mean, I am not even in the right age,” she said, pulling away.
“So, what are you saying?”
