"No big deal though. We'll change our course and be out of their range in no time" he said with a smile.
Andrea couldn't do much else but nod and watch the map with other tiny dots flashing around them.
She supposed those were the other ships.
Tristan could feel her unease pulsing from her body in waves. He hated that she was upset; her happiness and safety was of utmost importance to him.
"Andrea?" He resigned himself to doing what he felt was the right thing for her. Even if it was going to kill him inside. He could already feel the shattering pain at the mere thought of what he was about to do.
He couldn't even look at her while he spoke. His focus remained on getting the ship on a new path... a new path back to where they had just come from.
"Yes?" She looked over to where he stood still adjusting the controls.
"Do you want me to return you to Earth? I might be able to put some guards there. People to protect you."
She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Hadn't he been the one to say she would be killed if she was to go back to Earth? Wasn't he the one who told her that he had bonded to her? That the connected that had been made between them was stronger than marriage, the most intense love that a being could feel? Why was he offering to take her back to the place where she would surely be killed and where she would be without him and he without her.
The look on her face was question enough.
"I know you're unhappy, that all of this upsets you. I want you to be happy, Andrea" he spoke slowly and kept his voice low.
"I don't want to go back" she said.
She hadn't realized that she had made that choice until now. The idea that this was going to be her life forever. That she would never wake up in her little apartment with her Batman comforter and fuzzy slippers had not crossed her mind.
One thing that had crossed her mind, on more than one occasion now, was that she couldn't be without him again.
Being here in the middle of no man's land in space should have been terrifying. Being taken by an alien in the middle of the night should have been something people only dream of in their strangest nightmares. But it wasn't like that.
He gave her a sense of belonging; he brought her to life like he lit a flame inside of her and it was slowly devouring her alive, melting away the walls she had put up around herself over the years until he was inside of them. Until he knocked them all down and claimed the land. There was no way she was going back.
"I can take you back at any time" Tristan said.
He didn't want her to feel like she had to make the decision now but he wanted her original choice to stand. God, he wanted her to stay with him. Losing the his one and only mate, his bonded partner would tear him apart.
Men of his species mate once in a lifetime.
One woman for all of eternity.
Mating was the biggest decision a male would make in his life. It was a pact of devotion for the rest of his days.
Tristan knew he had made the right choice. From the moment his skin touched hers he knew that there would never be anyone else.
His most important role now was to take care of her and insure that she was safe, happy and taken care of. He would suffer an eternity of pain for her to be happy.
"You won't need to. I need to be here" Andrea said finding her strength and letting it shine through the uncertainty and fear "I need to be with you. End of story. Don't ask me again" she turned back to the map and took stock of the situation ahead of them.
"Mella Turro, I love you" he told her and went back to setting up their new navigational course now that he didn't have to retrace their steps and return to Earth.
She couldn't have known how much that touched him. Her determination to be by his side made her a worthy partner, a woman of strength and a warrior in purple silk.
He would make sure to honor her properly... and reward her lavishly when they were in range of safety.
With her arms crossed the hem of the shirt exposed the rounded curves of her supple ass. He wanted to sink his teeth into it, flip her over and part her thighs and taste that sweet heat of hers.
She turned and gave him a quick peek at the outline of her pussy before her arms dropped to her sides and the shirt dropped like a stage call.
Andrea went up to him "will you pick me up for a second?" Being short was made doubly worse by his exorbitant height.
"For an eternity" he said lifting her and gripping her ass with his broad hands.
Her mouth pressed closer to his ear as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I love you too, Mella Turro" she whispered into his ear with a flick of her tongue on his earlobe before catching it between her teeth and kissing his neck.
Tristan got goosebumps for the first time in his life and his cock went from soft to raging erect in 2.5 seconds flat.
"Mmm" he inhaled the scent of her as he pulled her into a deep kiss, parting her lips. His lips on her could express more than anything he could formulate into words after hearing that blissful phrase come from hers.
None of the enemy war ships seemed to matter in that moment. The fact that they were together, that they had each other and that they had found one another through millions of light years made all of that insubstantial.
