“Thank you.” Her face takes on this gooey quality as she catches Kade’s eye. There’s a little sparkle on her finger. It looks good. Kade took forever to get her a proper ring. I didn’t realize he’d been secretly saving up. Finally he drove down to Denver, arriving unannounced and begging for my help to find the prefect diamond.
In the end, I gave him a little money so he could get the right one.
It took a fair amount of arguing to get Kade to accept, but I convinced him that I wanted to have a small part of me up in Legacy all the time. It worked.
“Hey! It’s brainiac and wise-ass!” Ana laughs, walking towards us and giving me her best bear hug. I squeeze her tight and kiss her cheek. “Nice to see you, bro.”
“Ditto.” I look her up and down. “Looking pretty hot there, Miss Ana.”
“Why, thank you.” She dips her knee, then lightly punches my arm. “So, how’s college?”
“Lovin’ it.”
“Brainiac?”
I wink. “Lovin’ her.”
She winks back, looking especially pleased with my admission.
I raise my eyebrows at Trey, who’s overheard our exchange. He gives me a grin and wriggles his eyebrows at me. “Good to see you back, man.”
“Yeah, good to be here.” I squeeze past Ana and Jules and walk over to my brother. “Things all good up here?”
“Last-minute wedding prep is doing my head in, but I’ll survive. You bring the goods for stag night?”
“You bet, man. We are set.”
He grins and glances over my shoulder to make sure Kade’s not listening.
I lean in and whisper, “How’s the secret project coming along?”
Trey gives me a slow grin and swivels away so Ana can’t hear. “I got the plans delivered to the store a couple of days ago. They’re freaking amazing. I can’t wait to give them to her.”
“It’ll be a nice post-wedding surprise,” I grin.
“Hopefully we can get started on foundations this summer. It’ll be a long project, but if we can get into our own place within the next couple of years, I’ll be happy.”
“Yeah.” I glance across at Kade. “I’m betting those two will be popping out more kids soon enough. It’ll be nice for them to have the cabin to themselves.”
“For sure. And the site we scouted out last time you were here is going to be perfect for our place. Ana’s gonna love it.”
I grin. We spent hours wandering within Rafe’s (now mine) boundary line to find a level piece of land Trey could use. It’s about a ten-minute walk up the hill. We’ll have to cut a few trees, but the view is stunning and with a little digging, we can create a driveway for vehicle access.
It’ll be hours of sweat and aching muscles, but I’m excited to get started.
“We going to be hearing wedding bells from you two as well?”
Trey snickers. “I love her with all my heart, but I think building her a house is a pretty decent gift for now.”
“Uh-huh.” I nod and give him a skeptical smile.
“What?” He light punches my arm.
“Face it, man. Deep down, you’re a romantic sap. I bet you won’t be able to hold out past this summer. We’re going to see a ring on that girl’s finger soon enough.”
“Whatever. She doesn’t need to be my wife to know I’ll adore her for all eternity.”
“I know she doesn’t, but you just wait. Kade’s wedding is going to break you like a twig.”
He scoffs but can’t look me in the eye. I nudge him with my elbow and glance across at Caity.
Everyone’s still blocking the sidewalk, caught up in welcome-home chatter.
Ellie’s back with her dad, who’s now walking towards us.
His eyes are blue and bright with excitement. “So, our girls are looking pretty damn fine this afternoon.”
“Most definitely.” I catch Caity’s eye. She winks, and I suddenly have an overpowering urge to be back in my little room in Denver. Her and me, a lazy Sunday afternoon in bed together. Perfect is the only way to describe it.
“Can’t believe it,” Trey mumbles.
Kade frowns at him. “What?”
With a little snicker, he looks between us. “We’re grown-ups now. Thought it’d take us way longer than this to reach that point, but life forced it early.”
I shrug. “I don’t mind so much.”
“Yeah, me neither.” Kade tickles under Ellie’s chin. She giggles.
Trey sighs and gazes at Ana. “Weird to think it all started with that loser Chris Lorden.”
Kade bursts out laughing and I can’t help joining in.
Slapping Trey on the shoulder, I stare at my family, marveling at how quickly it’s expanded. From three lonely teenage kids to a tight-knit band of guys and the girls they’d do anything for.
I was a wreck. A restless orphan.
Until Trey and Kade forced their way into my heart.
Until Caitlin won it over completely.
I think I always kind of knew, but now I can say for sure that you don’t need the same blood to be family.
We’ll be Eton Wolves forever. Our little, unbreakable pack will always find their way back home to each other.

Note from the Author
Writing Hear No Evil was an intense experience. Riley goes through so much and I found myself crying for him as I wrote some of those scenes where he uncovered his past.
And then there’s Caitlin—beautiful Caitlin with her unassuming intelligence, perceptive nature and sweet smile. She’s the perfect match for Riley, and I’m so happy they ended up together.
When I first came up with the idea for See No Evil (Book 1), it was going to be a stand-alone novel, but I couldn’t move past that concept of the brotherhood…the wolf pack, and I had to keep going. In the end it was perfect, and Riley’s story is the conclusion I wanted for this makeshift family. I love the bond between them, the loyalty they share, and watching them get the happily ever after they deserve.
I hope you enjoyed these stories as much as I did. Thank you for reading. Thank you for falling in love…and thank you for supporting my work. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you and I am so extremely grateful.
I’d also like to thank the brilliant team who helped me bring you this story. Cassie, Rae, Lenore, Beth, Kate, Kristin, my eagle-eye proofreaders, my review team, my readers and my newsletter subscribers. Thank you so much for everything you do to encourage and help me. What would I do without you?
Thank you to my beautiful family, who constantly cheer me on, make me smile and remind me what life is all about. I am truly blessed.
And I can’t complete a book without thanking my Lord Jesus. He is my constant, my inspiration, and I’m so incredibly grateful for his unending love. I talk to him every day and I can’t imagine life without him.
I look forward to what’s coming next. I can’t wait to see what you vote for! Watch this space and I’ll keep you posted!

About the Author
Jordan Ford is a New Zealand author who has spent her life traveling with her family, attending international schools, and growing up in a variety of cultures. Although it was sometimes hard shifting between schools and lifestyles, she doesn’t regret it for a moment. Her experiences have enriched her life and given her amazing insights into the human race.
She believes that everyone has a back story…and that story is fundamental in how people cope and react to life around them. Telling stories that are filled with heartfelt emotion and realistic characters is an absolute passion of Jordan’s. Since her earliest memories, she has been making up tales to entertain herself. It wasn’t until she reached her teen years that she first considered writing one. A computer failure and lost files put a major glitch in her journey, and it took until she graduated university with a teaching degree before she took up the dream once more. Since then, she hasn’t been able to stop.
“Writing high school romances brings me the greatest joy. My heart bubbles, my insides zing, and I am at my happiest when immersed in a great scene with characters who have become real to me.”
