Favorite dishes include Scottish specialties such as Cullen Skink and Chef Adamson’s signature Haggis with Pancetta. There are some new items on the menu as well, including a hearty Seafood Risotto and a delicate pasta dish—Sophia’s Linguine with Cream Sauce. Everything was seasoned perfectly and garnished with fresh herbs and whimsical flowers. The dessert menu was most impressive. Miss Cady Brown made a point to inform us she inspired the Peach Shortbread Trifle.
It was refreshing to see Chef Adamson with a smile on his face. He visited all the tables to inquire about our meals and chatted amicably with the patrons. I also noticed he could not keep his hands off the lovely Sophia Brown—which she didn’t seem to mind in the least.
When I questioned part-owner “Uncle Rory” about Chef Adamson’s change of attitude, he just winked at me and pointed to Ms. Brown.
Chef Brown is even more adorable in person than on television. I do believe it’s Sophia’s warmth and enthusiasm that imbue this bistro with its charm and personality. During all of our visits, she was beaming with happiness.
My overall impression of WIFE NUMBER FOUR: spectacular. I highly recommend this delightful restaurant. And if you’ll forgive the horrible pun, it was certainly a “taste of heaven.”
All my best,
Alistair MacDaniel
