Chapter Eight
JACKSON
Fire chugged through my veins as I fingered the little hunk of metal tucked into the pocket of my jeans. I couldn’t believe I was doing this, couldn't believe I was choking on the words, couldn’t believe I’d finally found the woman who made me wanna say the words. And after that asshole Tom had said that shit to her, I’d known I needed to take action.
Once I knew I wanted something, I never hesitated. It was part of the reason I counted myself a success in business, and the very reason I was going to get the girl. My girl.
Moving her into my place was only the first step.
I groaned when Sadie bent over the hood of the Blue Devil, the ’67 Mustang she and I both loved so much. She’d been coming home with me every night for the last few weeks, and we already had most of her things moved into my place. I took over the rent payments on her apartment, waiting until the lease was up so her roommate could then decide what she wanted to do. I’d told her she was welcome to stay. I’d pay half the rent forever. I just wanted Sadie in my home, in my bed, in my life, now.
“I think it’s good.” Sadie closed the hood, glancing across the garage at me with a smile.
“You wanna take it for a spin?” I tossed the keys in her direction.
“Me? Drive? No way, this is your baby.” She shook her head, tossing the keys back.
I caught them, then crossed the distance to her, pushing the keys back into her hands.
“I want you to drive it first.”
One eyebrow arched up adorably. I smoothed it with the pad of my thumb, swatting her on the ass. “Let’s go, sweetheart. Ain’t got all day.”
She huffed when I walked around the car, opening the door to slide into the passenger seat.
“You’re sure? You’re gonna let me drive the Blue Devil?”
“I’m gonna make you do more than that in it.” I winked, my dick already twitching to life with the dirty things I had planned for her in this car. On this car. Against this car.
“’Kay, but I’ll warn you, I’ve got a lead foot.” She winked. A laugh barreled from my gut as she slid behind the wheel.
“What’s that?” She cocked her head to the bag in the backseat.
“Brought a few things, just in case you get us lost.”
“You’re such a smartass, Fox.”
“And you’ve got a great ass.” I grinned, loving the way her cheeks flushed when I said something she didn’t expect.
“If I get us lost, would that earn me a spanking?” She glanced over hopefully.
I laughed again, sliding a hand up her thigh and squeezing. “You want me to spank you that bad, all you’ve got to do is ask.”
“Ask?” She shot me a sassy grin. “Or beg?”
“Beg…” I slid a hand between her legs. “I like the sound of you begging.”
Her nipples pebbled under the soft fabric of her T-shirt. “You’re a horny little devil for me, aren’t you?”
She nodded her eyes nailed to mine. “Maybe you should drive after all…I have a feeling you’re going to be a distraction from the passenger seat.”
“I plan on it.” I grazed the seam of her cunt, the shudder spiking through her system causing my dick to pulse angrily. “Start the car, Sadie.”
She pursed her lips at me, shoving the key in the ignition, holding down the clutch and brake before the engine roared to life. Like honey melting through my veins, the vibration of the car, the gorgeous purr, all fed my adrenaline.
“It sounds great.” She looked over at me, a radiant smile on her face.
Christ, I’d do anything to put that smile on her face as much as possible.
“Let’s get out of here.” I punched the garage door opener. “Take 25 North.”
“The expressway?” She scrunched her nose at me in confusion. “You got somethin’ up your sleeve you’re not telling me?”
“Always do.” I stole a kiss when she put the car in reverse, and we headed north.
I had something I hoped would really put a smile on her face.
“So whaddya think? How’s she drive?” I said an hour later as we were pulling into a long gravel driveway. The sun was just setting, and this was only the first of many surprises I had in store for her.
“I love it.” She eased off the gas and shifted into a lower gear as the road inclined. “There’s so much power. You can feel it coming through your fingers on the steering wheel. It’s masculine, it makes me feel in charge. I’m a badass driving this car.” She shot me a wink.
“You are a total badass. Park over along the edge of the water.” I pointed through the window when we pulled up to a wide clearing in the trees. She cocked her head, eyes doing a quick glance around us, though she couldn’t see much. The sun had already fallen below the horizon, shadows and darkness nearly shrouding this little side of the lake.
“This is gorgeous,” she breathed when we stepped out of the car.
“Bought this property a long time ago. Before I even started Fox Motors. Always wanted to build a place here someday.” I came around the side of the car, pinning her with my hips against the hood and taking her lips. “You like the car, baby?”
“Mm…” She nipped at my lips. “I love the car.”
“Good.” I lifted her onto the hood, nestling my hips between her thighs. “Because it’s yours.”
She froze, her eyes levelled on mine. “What?”
“I’m giving you the car,” I said matter-of-factly.
“What the hell for?” Shock threaded her voice.
“Because you love it.”
“And so do you. Just let me ride in it once in awhile, I’ll be happy.”
I pulled her closer. “I want you more than happy. I want you so drunk on me you’ll never leave.”
“I’m not leaving anyway. You’re stuck with me, Fox.” Her fingers tugged at the little hairs at the base of my neck.
“The car is yours, Sadie. Don’t fight me on this.” I pushed the zipper down on my pants, no longer able to stand the constant pressure of my dick begging to be inside her.
Her hands tore down her own zipper, and she pushed the jeans off her legs.
“No panties under those jeans?”
Her lip caught between her teeth as she shook her head.
“Jesus, you fucking wreck me.” I slid my cock against her lips, covering my mouth with hers as I slid deep inside her. “You fucking wreck me a little more every day.”
A soft moan fell from her lips as her nails clutched at the muscles of my back.
“Your heart beats with mine, Sadie. You’re the last thing I think of at night and the very first thing on my mind in the morning.” I kissed her lips, running one hand down her arm and catching her wrist. “I want to protect you, I want to defend your honor.” I crooked a sideways grin at her. “I want to love you.” I slid the little circle of gold out of my pocket, pushing it onto her left ring finger and pausing. “I want you to be my wife.”
Her sweet lips formed a soft little O, eyes racing from the ring I’d just slid onto her finger and back to my eyes.
“Sadie, say something.”
“I-I—”
I threaded her newly adorned fingers with mine, thrusting my hips a little deeper inside her. “You know the answer, sweetheart,” I rasped in her ear. “Don’t make me spank it out of you.”
Her ankles locked around my waist a little tighter, one arm pulling me down in a crashing kiss. Her hips rocked back and forth, her moans and pants barely escaping her lungs before my mouth was over hers again.
“Answer me, Sadie. Say yes and I’ll marry you right here on this spot tomorrow.”
She paused, her hand threaded through the hair at the back of my neck as she replied, “Yes. Yes! Yes, I’ll marry you, Jackson Fox!” she squealed, wrapping both her arms around my neck, our mouths sliding together, our tongues probing and sucking at flesh. “I love you.”
“I’ll love you a thousand times longer and a thousand times ha
rder, Sadie McGuire. There is no me without you anymore.”

SADIE
One Year Later
“You feel so fucking tight, baby.” Jackson’s hands were in my hair, his hips working between my thighs as his cock slid in and out of me.
“Oh my God, right there…Jackson…” I clutched at his bare ass cheek, his dirty jeans around his thighs as he fucked me against the car. There was just something about seeing my man in his work jeans, a tool in his hand, and that drop-dead gorgeous smile on his face. I was a slave to him.
And the hormones had made it even worse.
Jackson and I had gotten married almost immediately, and less than a month after that, I’d found out I was pregnant. For Jackson’s first Father’s Day, he’d gotten a pregnancy test. For this Father’s Day, he’d be holding his son in his arms.
“That’s my sweet girl, let me hear you.” Jackson’s words sent lust splintering through my body.
“Oh Jackson, Jackson, Jackson!” I cried, waves of earth-shattering pleasure sucking me under. His palms clutched at my hips, each thrust more forceful than the next, each kiss more demanding.
“Such a horny girl for me.” He steadied, his head thrown back, throat contracting as a low rumble passed his lips.
Watching Jackson cum was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen.
“Oh my God,” I panted, lying back on the hood of the car. Every single breath arched my body, my breasts full, nipples impossibly hard. “I think I could go again.”
Jackson slid out of me, his hands covering my breasts, pressing them together before sucking one nipple into his mouth. I pushed my hands in his hair, moaning as another thunderbolt of arousal sliced through me.
“Should I make you cum with my tongue?” he murmured, his hand sliding between us to swirl at my clit.
Another charge of electricity bolted through me.
“Jackson…” I whispered, steadying his hand between us.
“Mm…yeah, baby?” He spread our shared cum around my clit, working it into the sensitive flesh.
“Jackson…” Another lightning bolt, this time in my stomach.
“Tell me, sweetheart.”
Another bolt.
“Jackson, I…” I looked up at him, just as my first real contraction took hold. “Jackson, I think it’s time.”
“What?” His eyes rounded.
“It’s time, Jackson. I’m having contractions.”
“So what the doctor said is true? If we want the baby to come we should have sex? It worked?!”
“Jackson, oh my God, yes it worked. Oh my God, it hurts!” I clutched at his bicep just as my stomach tightened harder than it had before.
“Oh Jesus, okay.” He leapt into action, yanking his jeans up and zipping before grasping both my hands. “What do you want me to do?”
“Just stay here, just…wait…until it passes…” I spit through clenched teeth.
“Right. Wait til it passes.” His eyes shot around the garage. “You left the overnight bag in the living room, right?”
“Yes, Jackson.” I tried to breathe through the pain like the labor instructor had taught us. “It’s been there for a week.” I paused as my muscles relaxed. “Okay, I think it’s over.”
Jackson looked down at my hugely round, nine-month-pregnant belly. “We’re going to have a baby.”
I grinned, wanting to leap into his arms and slather him in kisses, if I still could. “He’s coming.”
“He’s coming.” Jackson looked up at me, one tear tracking down his chiseled cheek before he swiped it on the sleeve of his shirt. He pulled me into his arms, sliding my t-shirt over my shoulders and my stretchy leggings up over my big belly.
“I’ll get the keys and the bag. Be right back, don’t move.”
“Wait, you’re bringing me in the Blue Devil?!”
“Hell yeah, I am. I’m bringing my son home from the hospital in this car.”
“Jackson, no, my water could break, I could ruin the seats!”
He stood, as if to consider me for a moment. “But it’s where all our firsts happened. I proposed to you on that car. It was the start of us.”
I stood in the middle of the garage, speechless and in awe of the sweetness radiating from the man I’d married. I knew at that exact moment that he would be the best daddy to our little boy, to all of our future kids. He was already the best husband to me.
“Okay. Just don’t forget to bring me a towel.” I rubbed a hand over my belly, smiling contently as I eased around the corner of the car to open the passenger door.
“Hey, mama.” Jackson scooped me into his arms, placing a slow kiss on my lips as he walked me around the car. He slid me in the seat, buckling me in before placing both of his palms over my giant belly. “I love you both so much.”
He smiled up at me and placed a kiss on my stomach.
I pushed one of my hands through his hair, pulling him to my lips in a soft kiss. “Let’s go have a baby.”
Second Epilogue
JACKSON
Three Years Later
“Vroooom!” My son’s hands clutched at the steering wheel of the Mustang. I tickled Blaze’s sides as he sat perched in my lap. The way he busted up into a fit of giggles only a three-year-old could muster made me drunk on happiness.
And as if my life couldn't get any better, the woman who made it all possible walked down the steps of our cabin. It was perched on the lake, way up in the Rockies. I’d built our dream home, and then we’d started filling it with babies.
“Hey, mama, I think this guy’s gonna be a racecar driver.”
She grinned, bouncing Hawk, our ten-month-old on her hip.
“This one better be a chef. He likes to eat. That’s his second banana.” She hugged my boy a little closer.
Damn, I loved this woman.
My life had grown more full in the last few years than I ever dreamed it could have. I didn’t even know I wanted these things, didn’t give two shits about a family until Sadie came along. Now I wanted the kids, the dog, and the white picket fence. And I planned on trying for more kids. I’d have ten babies with her if she’d let me.
“Dawie!” Hawk gargled through a bite of banana.
A black lab came trotting down the porch, a litter of three pups following her in a reckless line. I shook my head. We’d adopted that dog a few months ago and had no idea she was pregnant at the time. “Here comes trouble.”
Blaze giggled as two of the puppies took a tumble down the last step, legs and ears every which way. “Can we keep them all, Daddy?!”
Sadie’s eyes widened as she looked from my son to me, eyes pleading. “That’s a houseful, I don’t know if—”
“But I’ll feed and water them all! Just like real chores!” Blaze clapped his hands, excitement growing by the second.
I sighed, patting Ginger on the head when she reached me, tail wagging at the open car door. “We’ve got a few more weeks before they’re old enough to leave their mom anyway, Blaze. You’ve got plenty of time to play with them.”
I looked up at Sadie, pleading for some help.
“You know I’m not going to be able to let them go.” She hugged Hawk a little closer, smiling back at me.
“Dammit, woman,” I growled. “If these kids weren’t here, I’d bend you over—”
“Be nice to Mama!” Blaze defended his mother adorably.
“Oh, I’m very nice to Mama.” I shot my wife a cocky grin. “She likes to beg—”
“Jackson!” Sadie cut me off with a palm over my lips. “Behave yourself.”
“So can we keep them, Daddy?!” Blaze bounced behind the steering wheel.
I groaned, feeling like I’d lost this battle. I could take on the kids, but there wasn’t a chance in hell I could ever say no to Sadie. “Fine. We can keep them.”
“Yay!” Blaze bounded out of my lap and dropped to his knees, surrounding himself with tiny black lab puppies, tiny barks and tails going wild.
&
nbsp; “We’re going to have a talk later.” I arched an eyebrow at Sadie.
“Oh yeah?” she cooed. “Did I earn a punishment?”
I cupped her face in my palm and planted a fevered kiss on her lips. “You better believe you did.”
THE END.
Under Construction: A Blue Collar Romance
Chapter One
PAIGE
A soft grunt sounded through the wall of the neighboring apartment.
I crushed the pillow over my head, trying desperately to block out the stifled sounds of sex echoing through the wall.
Another one of those faint groans.
“God, I need to move,” I groaned and rolled over, throwing another blanket over my head. The constant thud of a headboard kissing the wall my only reply.
“Please God, kill me now,” I prayed.
The sound of fucking subsided, muted groans fading until it was silent altogether.
Thank God.
I sighed, throwing the pillow off my head, my hair snarled in a mess around my shoulders. The clock read one o’clock in the morning.
It was the second time this week this had happened. When I’d walked through this apartment six months ago, the apartment next door was empty. I hadn’t even thought to ask about how the sound carried between the walls.
How could I?
This was my first apartment, my first time on my own. I’d lived with sorority sisters at the Kappa Alpha house off campus. But this…this was something else.
Despite all the fun I’d had in my college years, I was actually a pretty focused and responsible girl. I’d moved to the suburbs in the hopes of getting some quiet time, time to focus on case files, and get a full night’s rest every night. Six thirty a.m. came quickly.
