The Last First Date Page 6

by Ryder, Rocklyn

"That's fine, I'm perfectly OK with letting you keep trying to knock me up."

I watch Reagan's face go through a series of expressions before his eyes light up in sudden understanding.

"For real?" He crosses back to me in two giant steps and catches me in his arms, knocking my chair over as he lifts me off my feet.

  "Really, Molly?"

He sets me down, trying to kiss my lips, kiss my stomach, pick up my chair and sit me down, and hug me all at once.

"You're pregnant? When? How long? How long have you known? When were you going to tell me? What is it?"

When I get him to calm down I answer all his questions, assuring him I've only known for sure since yesterday, only about six weeks-- just long enough to miss my period and wonder why I've been feeling so tired, I'd planned on telling him over dinner but then Spence showed up out of nowhere, and we have a while to wait on that last one.

"What do you think is going on with Spencer?" I ask when Reagan stops asking me a million questions, "you think he's finally decided to start adulting because he sees you so happy and starting a family?"

Reagan kisses the top of my head and stands next to me with my hand in his, looking at the office door thoughtfully. Then he turns his head and looks down at me and gives me a knowing little grin.

"Something tells me my baby brother's sudden change in direction has nothing to do with me finding my soul mate."

  About Rocklyn

I'm just your average middle aged woman, working the day job and trying to keep the bills paid, the weight down, and the plants alive.

Two out of three ain't bad.

I started writing on a dare and was nothing short of shocked when my cutesy short romance stories actually got some love.

  Who'da thunk it?

I write em short, cute, and a little dirty with leading men who are all hard muscle and soft hearts and aren't afraid to make a stand for the women they fall for.

Not every leading lady is myself incarnate, but all my heroines embody the real life women I've known in my life-- the ones who kick ass as well as the ones that have had their asses kicked.

I love that as a romance writer, I get to fix all those broken and elusive happy ever afters...theirs, as well as mine
