He immediately looked torn. I could see the gears turning in his mind. On one hand, he really did want to share his happiness with the people who were as close to him as brothers. On the other hand, well… fun, married, sexy times.
I decided to help him out. “Let’s look at this rationally. At any time, has having a celebratory drink with the guys ever ended up with you getting a blow job or other carnal pleasures?”
“Not from them,” he replied with a pointed look.
“Bad example. Let me rephrase. Has having a drink with the guys ever ended up with you getting a blow job or other carnal pleasures that made your toes curl, your hair stand on end and want to slap your mother, from me?”
“They can wait until tomorrow.” He turned the key in the ignition and left skid marks as he tore out of the parking lot on the way back to the hotel.
Once we were back in the room, I excused myself to the bathroom and cursed my lack of forethought. I should have taken the opportunity to do a little shopping for some essentials instead of our leisurely stroll up and down the strip. I had no sexy lingerie to seduce him with after leaving this room. No candles to light to set the mood. I had only me. I thought about that for a minute, and decided that maybe, just maybe, that was enough.
I took a few minutes to brush my hair until it shone and touched up my make-up. I took off all my clothes and freshened my perfume. With a last look in the mirror, I took a deep breath and opened the door.
Vance was standing by the bed with his back to me. As he turned and looked over his shoulder, his eyes widened and his jaw went a bit slack. I stood there, as bare as can be. No sexy pose against the door frame, no beguiling look. I was completely vulnerable. I didn’t fidget awkwardly or feel unsure. I was just me, giving myself to him wholly and completely, standing there waiting for him to accept me just like I was.
Before he could turn fully around, or say anything, I began. “I don’t have anything to offer you to set a scene of romance, or to make this night extra sexy. I don’t have any tricks or anything like that. All I have is me and my heart, and as you know, both are completely and totally yours. They always have been. I love you, Vance. I haven’t said that out loud before, but I’ve been saying it in my head from almost the day we met.”
Vance turned and unbuttoned his shirt. He removed it slowly, letting it fall on the floor next to him. He removed his shoes, belt, pants and briefs next, until he was completely naked, his proud cock jutting out before him. He came to stand before me.
“Now I am as bare as you are. I don’t have any special gimmicks to offer you either, that other couples probably use to make their wedding night more adventurous. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want or need that. I only need this. You and me, with nothing between us. This is what is real and special. Everything we do together is romantic and memorable to me Mimi, because you are there. There isn’t a memory I have of you…” he smiled boyishly, “few as they may be right now, that isn’t colored by my love for you. Even the ones of you brushing your teeth or putting on your shoes. That’s romantic to me. The little things that happen in the course of a day or a lifetime with someone. Not how many candles were lit on a certain night, or how many seductive glances were shared over a glass of wine. This memory however, the memory of you coming to me completely exposed, body and soul, telling me that you love me? That transcends romance. There isn’t even a word for it.”
He reached for my hand and led me over and onto the bed. He followed me, guiding me down as he touched his lips to mine. He kissed me with his usual delicate touch, but he didn’t tease like he normally did. That night, Vance’s passion flared high and hot and before I knew it, he was kissing me with a fever I have never felt from him before. His tongue was an invader in my mouth, plunging and conquering its recesses, only to retreat before thrusting forth again. I took advantage of the situation and allowed myself to explore the curves and planes of his body. Every dip, every crease, every ripple of his muscles, were travelled thoroughly by my searching hands.
Vance’s hands were not passive either. He groped and squeezed every available inch of skin, plumping and kneading as he made his way down my body. He licked my neck, down between my breasts, my belly, dipping into my navel. His tongue circled over my hipbones, making me giggle involuntarily as he continued down my thighs to the backs of my knees. He turned me over and began working his way back up, until he reached the back of my neck and bit down hard.
He pulled back and began running his hands over my back, making circles over the muscles, not massaging exactly, more like tantalizing the skin, sensitizing it to his touch. He worked his way down until he was circling the fleshy part of my buttocks. His touch grew firmer as he growled out, “Have I ever told you how much I love your ass, Mimi? It is so round and perfect. Always begging me to take a bite out of it.” Just then I felt him bend forward and sink his teeth into my skin. Not too hard, nothing that would’ve drawn blood of course, but certainly enough to grab my attention. He soothed the sting with his tongue and sat back with a little chuckle.
“That will probably leave a little bit of a mark tomorrow.”
I started to make a smart comment back, but thought better of it. Vance was in some kind of passion zone, and I wasn’t about to disrupt the flow. While I loved Vance’s normal languid approach, I was really into his wild and uninhibited side.
Vance trailed his fingers down between my thighs and traced the seam of my outer lips. He coated his fingers with the moisture that had collected there before bringing them to my mouth and rubbing them over my bottom lip.
“Taste what I do to you, Mimi. The sweetness your body makes just for me.” He whispered huskily.
His words reduced me to a puddle of need as my tongue flicked out over my lip involuntarily. I whimpered softly as I tasted the heady flavor of my arousal on my own skin. His hand returned to the soft flesh between my legs and slowly eased it apart, his fingers softly pressing against the little knot of nerves aching for his touch. Slowly, he began to draw little circles over it, before sliding two fingers from his other hand inside me. I lifted my hips to allow him better access and squirmed against his touch. He thrust deep, pumping his hand back and forth while I worked myself in time with his rhythm.
“That’s it, Mimi. Fuck that pretty little pussy on my hand. You look so beautiful when you are like this. So open and ready. Looking for your pleasure with me. God, I love to watch you.”
I loved it when he talked dirty to me. He made me feel like some kind of sex goddess. Like no matter what I did, it was the most erotic thing he’d ever seen, and it inspired me to just abandon any notion of embarrassment or shame, or whatever might hold me back. I rose to my hands and knees and pushed back hard onto him, rocking faster and faster, feeling my breasts swing back and forth and my temperature rise higher and higher. I tossed my head back on my shoulders, panting as I felt myself getting close, when Vance withdrew his hand and came to his knees behind me.
He ran his hand over my ass, squeezing gently. “I’m going to take you like this, Mimi. I’m going to watch myself work this hot little cunt, see my dick wet with your juices as it moves in and out of you. Finally, there’s not going to be anything between us. You’re completely mine now. There will never be anything between us again.” He said as he slid into me, right to the hilt.
I gasped as he filled me, the angle of this position allowing him to reach depths he hadn’t touched before. Ever since the first time we made love, we’d always taken a moment to enjoy the initial connection of our joining. It wasn’t solely for me to adjust to his size, or anything like that. It was more to appreciate that second when we became one, when our bodies melded along with our hearts and the satisfaction that came with it. It would only last a moment as the need to move always won out. On our wedding night, it overtook us sooner, the height of our passion being what it was.
Vance gripped my hips and set up a hard rhythm right away. I moved against him, pushing back as he thrust for
ward, my fingers digging into the mattress beneath me. We were both panting and grunting as our bodies slapped together, the sounds echoing through the room. We were slamming into each other, driving harder, faster, as if we could finally become one body through sheer force.
He wound his hands into my hair, pulling my head back and stilling my body as he pounded harder into me, his cock angling over that cluster of nerves inside me that pushed me toward oblivion.
“Take me, Mimi. Take all of me. Every single solid inch…it’s yours.” He gasped out as I felt him begin to swell impossibly larger inside me.
“When I come, you’ll take every ounce, every drop, and along with it, you’ll take my soul, too.” His voice broke on the last few words and I felt the rush wash over me, beginning at the soles of my feet, burning through my body like a wildfire, up my legs, to my core, then radiating through the rest of me, incinerating me from the inside out. Vance thrust into me deeply, yelling out his release with pure abandon, before collapsing onto my back, taking us both down to the bed. We lay there like that for long minutes, both of us struggling to piece our minds back together after such shattering pleasure. Finally he rolled off of me, gathering me in his arms, my back to his front, and held me as we both attempted to regulate our breathing.
Finally, he spoke to me in a hushed tone. “I’m sorry, Mimi. I don’t know what came over me. I wanted to make love to you slowly. To show you how much I cherish you, how much I treasure you. Instead, I was like a wild animal.”
I turned in his arms and put a hand to his cheek. “No, Vance. Don’t you dare apologize. I love it when you take your time with me, you know I do, but that was unbridled passion. That was you raw, and uncontrolled and safe with me. That was you at your most vulnerable, just the way we both wanted tonight to be. Don’t ruin it with regret. I’m not some china doll that you have wear white cotton gloves to admire.” I grinned a little cheekily. “You know, it’s okay to get me a little dirty from time to time.”
“God, Mimi. You are so perfect.” He said, kissing the top of my head. “I can’t wait to grow old with you.”
“Let’s not be in too much of a hurry to grow old, okay there, buddy? I’m looking forward to many years of admiring your gorgeous body. I don’t want to rush through that part too fast.” I teased.
“If Jack LaLanne can stay fit into his nineties, then I can do the same for you. As long as you keep looking at me the way you do now,” he said.
“Who’s Jack LaLanne?” I asked, completely confused.
I think our mutual plan had been to sleep late into the afternoon the next day because we made love two more times, not falling asleep until well after dawn. This was not to be, when Vance’s phone started ringing around ten the following morning. We both ignored it and the call went to voicemail, along with the one that came immediately after it. When it rang for the third time, Vance groaned and rolled over, answering it with a very pleasant, “What do you want, fuckwit?”
He was quiet for a few beats, then grumbled, “No, we need sleep. We got married last night have been up all night consummating said marriage. Have breakfast by yourselves.” He hung up, tossing the phone back on the nightstand and pulling the covers over his head.
“Three, two, one…,” I counted down.
On cue, Vance’s phone started ringing again and I could swear the sound was shriller than it was before, as if it could convey the urgency of the caller’s intent through its electronic tones.
“Griffin, right?” I asked.
Vance mumbled something that sounded like yes from his place under the covers.
“You realize that, after what you said, if you don’t answer the phone, he will be up here pounding on the door next, right?”
Vance shot up in bed and answered the phone just as it began its next round of ringing.
“Yeah?” He answered in a much more agreeable tone. He laughed a little bit. “Yeah, you heard right. She told me she’d marry me right away after I asked her last night, so I didn’t give her a chance to change her mind.”
He was quiet for a few minutes while Griffin talked. “Sure, give us some time to get dressed, then we’ll meet you in the lobby. See you in a few.” He touched the screen to end the call and tossed it back on the nightstand. “Looks like we’re having breakfast with the guys. We’re going to be called on the carpet for not allowing them to come with us.”
“I’d better hurry through a shower then. I love you, but I’m not showing up to a meal with your friends smelling like this.” I said, giving myself a good sniff.
“And just what, exactly, do you smell like?” Vance asked with a goofy grin.
“Like a groupie with a pass to an Aerosmith concert after party.” I said as I walked naked to the bathroom.
I closed the door on Vance’s howling laughter.
The guys forgave us quickly. They even went so far as insisting they throw our wedding celebration party when we returned home. We objected because we wanted to have something formal, much more like an actual wedding reception, but the guys had their own plans. They felt it should be much less stuffy and more beer bash-y. I presumed this was to pay me back for depriving them of a bachelor party for Vance.
“I can’t believe you actually got married, Mimi!” Laurel exclaimed during one of our regular Skype calls after I got back from Vegas.
“I know, it’s pretty wild, but he’s just the one. I can’t imagine my life without him,” I said.
“Yeah, yeah. I know all about it. He’s all you’ve talked about for months.” She rolled her eyes. Then she grinned widely at me. “Seriously though, I’m super thrilled for you both. I wish you all the love and happiness in the world. Well maybe not all, I’d like to keep some for myself, but all the rest of it—you guys can have that.”
“Thanks, that’s very sweet of you, Laur. Do you think you and Pete will be able to make it out here for our reception slash frat party?”
“I’ll be there no matter what, but Pete is still trying to get the time off to go. Whose bright idea was it to throw you a kegger to celebrate your wedding? Vance’s? How is your mother taking that?”
“No, it wasn’t Vance,” I laughed, “Although he’s not overly upset by the idea. It’s the brainchild of his group of friends. You’ll meet them and it will all make sense. I decided it was easier to just go with the flow. Our little ceremony in Vegas was enough for me. My mom, well… she’s resigned to the idea. She’s just happy that I’m happy.”
“Well that works for me, too. At least this way I don’t have to put on some ugly dress that I’ll never wear again.”
“That can still be arranged, you know,” I warned teasingly.
We joked around for a few more minutes before ending the call and logging out. It was hard to believe it had only been a few short months since I had visited her in New York, so much had happened since then. This time, I’d be seeing her as Mimi Ashcroft.
Our “reception” ended up being fantastic. Everyone was relaxed and happy, there was no pressure that people feel on “The Big Day” so we were free to just be in love and share our happiness with our friends. My mom did insist on a formal wedding cake and a photographer, and later I was grateful for her foresight. She and Vance’s mom, although both unhappy with us at first for leaving them out of such a special occasion, were more than happy to make each other’s acquaintance. We had introduced them at a private lunch with just the four of us and they hit it off immediately. At the party, they spent most of it together walking around laughing at everyone’s antics and taking random snapshots, presumably for blackmail material later.
I was pleased that Laurel and Pete were both able to make it to the party and we spent some time talking and laughing with them, reminiscing about Vance’s time in the security offices at Caesar’s.
My coworkers and good friends from the firm, Grace, Liz and Jessica came to the party too. While I wasn’t as close to them as I was to Laurel, they were my best girlfriends in Los Angeles, and prior to meeti
ng Vance, I had spent a lot of my free time with them. Vance and I had been so wrapped up in each other since our respective returns from New York, they hadn’t even met him yet. Unfortunately, there was so much going on, other than a brief introduction and a few hugs and cheek kisses and promises to get together soon, I didn’t see much of them that evening. I did notice, however, that they somehow found Griffin, Bryant and Justin and had them cornered at one point.
The music poured from the speakers all night long and the alcohol flowed freely. There was plenty of finger food, people danced and fortunately, despite the college-party vibe to the occasion, everyone kept their clothes on and there were no embarrassing incidents. The party wound down around three in the morning and we all called it a success.
We spent the next year in a state of newlywed bliss. We both did well at our jobs, though Vance continued to work long hours. We spent our weekends either with our friends out on the town—interestingly, Grace and Bryant, Liz and Griffin and Jessica and Justin began dating after the reception party—redecorating Vance’s home to reflect our new blended life or occasionally taking time for a romantic getaway. Our lives were simple and uncomplicated. We were young and in love and had everything we needed in each other.
The only thing marring our happiness, at least from my perspective, was Vance’s continued headaches. He didn’t have them all the time, maybe once a month, maybe less frequently, but when he did have them, they were debilitating. He missed work on a couple of occasions because they were so bad. I spoke with a coworker of mine who took medication for migraines, and she told me that she had them somewhat regularly, too. She didn’t have them quite as often as Vance did, but she assured me they were not serious and I had nothing to worry about. Some people just got them. Whenever I tried to talk to Vance about my concerns, he was touched, but he firmly reminded that he had already received medical attention and there was no need for me to worry. Finally, I just came to accept it as normal and life went on. I had never been happier in my entire life.
