Silent Night (Bad Boy Rockers Book 6) Page 6

by Lexi Buchanan

Just that thought makes me smile because Callie loves making cookies at Christmastime and had already started on a batch when I left the house, which will smell like cinnamon when we return. Cinnamon and the holiday season always reminds me of Christmas at my mom’s house.

The sound of a throat being cleared brings me back to the present, and as I meet Jack’s gaze, I grin and listen to what we’re about to sing.

  Callie

I love the Christmas market. The small stalls full of unique gifts, some of which have been handmade. And the smell in the air is delicious as I wait for Reece to come back with the two large cups of hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

I tug my jacket up around my neck to keep the chill out, and let my gaze wonder over to the ice rink that has been placed on the edge of the town park. It’s small, but makes people happy. I certainly won’t be going on it this year with our baby snug inside of my belly. I’m not the best on ice anyway so I’m more than happy to just watch, which is how I spot Robin and Leo on the opposite side. I probably wouldn’t have spotted them if Robin hadn’t caught my eye by falling on the ice.

It makes me smile as I watch Leo pick her up and dust her off, his hands lingering over her bottom, and finally her hair. The heat between them can be felt where I stand so I quickly turn away, feeling like a voyeur.

The thought of Reece’s reaction to seeing his sister and Leo makes me quickly search him out…and there he is. He never ceases to make my heart pound that bit harder with just the sight of him, and when he catches me staring, he smiles and I know it’s the smile he keeps for me.

He quickly moves toward me, our hot chocolates in his hands, and without a care to where we are, he snakes his arm around my neck and tugs me to him for a kiss. Our lips are cold but soon warm up as I find it difficult to pull away, until I need to breathe.

Reece nuzzles against my face and kisses my cheek before he moves away and passes me my drink. “The guy put a piece of chocolate in the drinks as well.” Reece grins. “Figured your chocolate craving would be working overtime now that you’re pregnant.”

“Mmm.” I slowly taste the drink and the sweetness hits my taste buds. I try not to wince at the overly sweet taste, but Reece catches me.

  “Too sweet?”

“A little bit, but probably because I’m used to only drinking coffee,” I admit. “After my first cup of coffee in the morning, I’m going to switch it out for decaf, until after the baby is born.” I did that while I was pregnant with Ben and although it was good for the baby that I did, it wasn’t so good for me. I hate decaf.

Reece looks worried, and rightly so. “I’m sure if you drank less coffee then you could stick with the real stuff. I think it’s only if you drink jugs of the stuff that you need to switch.”

I can’t help but giggle because he remembers my temper as I tried to wean myself onto decaf before. “I agree, but the look on your face was worth saying it.”

“Hmm.” He wraps his arm around my neck and slowly moves me away from the market and into seclusion beneath a huge tree.

I raise a brow wondering what he’s up to, but I probably don’t need more than one guess. “You seriously want to get it on here?”

He grins and takes my hot chocolate and places them both down on the ground beside our feet. “I’ve no intention of getting you naked out here,” he admits as he crowds me. “But, I did get the sudden urge to make out with my beautiful wife.” Reece caresses my face, and whispers, “I love you, Callie,” before his lips brush against mine.

My heart jumps in my chest as I reach up and wind my arms around his neck to keep him close. “I love you, too. For now and always.” Our mouths search and find, our tongues caress in a tune of their own, and everything but my husband temporarily fades into the background.

  Leo

Skating around the rink with Robin’s hand in mine, I feel hope that she’s finally seeing who is in front of her.

At first her rejection had felt more like a challenge, but then when she continued to refuse my invitation to dinner, movies, or just coffee, I’d started to worry.

There’s no one like Robin Kincaid and I’ve hurt at her refusal to date me. I never gave her reason to hate me, and I know that she watches me around campus, but yet she has never said yes…until I followed her home. Or rather until I put my plan in place, which meant me getting a vacation job in her hometown so that she wouldn’t be able to avoid me. I had been lucky to be offered the first job I applied for, and I really thought it was my lucky day when I discovered that Robin was also going to be working at Kix.

All I ever wanted was the chance to spend time with the beautiful girl I’d fallen in love with from a distance. She’s beautiful on the inside as well as out, and her delicious curves leave my mouth watering and my body aching with a need that is unreasonable.

I’m only two years ahead of her in school, and before I met her, I hadn’t exactly lived like a priest. I certainly have since I met Robin. She has become all I can think about, which I’ll keep to myself for now. I sure as hell don’t want to scare her away, especially now that she really has noticed me.

I find that I’m constantly aware of Robin whenever we’re in a room together, especially Kix. I hate having other men watch her, and I certainly pay no attention to the women who come on to me. I always try to be polite when I let them down, but what else can I do when I’ve already met the girl for me? No other will do.

Even now as the cold from the ice and the bite in the wind hits my face, my arousal heats beneath my skin for Robin as she turns and smiles. She loves being on the ice even though her balance is crap. I’ve used every opportunity to keep her by my side, and she hasn’t complained once. I only hope that she isn’t just looking for a holiday hook-up because I want a lot more than that.

Glancing at her from the corner of my eye, I discover her eyes glued to me. Not my face, but she looks me over and when she finally meets my gaze the blush that creeps up her face makes me smile…and she starts to stumble.

Her arms flay around, her legs have no coordination, and she finally comes to a stop when I wrap my arms around her waist and hold her tightly against my chest.

My breathing is labored as her round ass rubs against my groin, causing an arousing friction that I’d rather not have in public.

Robin is oblivious to my reaction to her, but with the rapid rate in which I harden, she won’t be for much longer. In fact, if she doesn’t stop I’ll be embarrassing myself by coming in my jeans. With that thought in mind, I grab her hips and hold her still.

I close my eyes and rest my chin on her shoulder, as I beg, “Please stop wiggling against me.”

My dick throbs while she settles, and it jumps for joy when she applies slight pressure.

Cursing under my breath, I take a step back before she kills me. “Are you okay on your feet now?” I ask before I let go of her completely, and run my fingers through my hair.

Robin continues to let her eyes roam over me, especially below the belt, my body is in pain. I ache and the little bite that she does to her bottom lip isn’t helping my body to calm down any.

  “Robin, is that you?”

The minute the words are spoken, Robin appears startled and then slams into the front of me. My hands automatically grab her hips, and slip around to her ass with her plastered against me.

“Caro, it’s good to see you again,” Robin offers the girl, her head resting against my chest.

“Aren’t you going to introduce your boyfriend?”

Robin bristles in my arms, but moves to step away. No way is she going to leave me aroused in plain view of the new arrival, so I move with her, my hands now cupping Robin’s face.

“We’re just leaving,” I say in way of greeting, and continue to back Robin away from the girl and off the ice.

“That was rude,” Robin calls me on it, and then grins. “But she was rude first.”

“She was.” I rest my forehead aga
inst hers. “I need to calm down.”

Robin smiles, takes my hand, and tugs me over to one side. “I like knowing that I do that to you,” she admits. “You feel good.” She steps close and wraps her arms around my waist. Her fingers search and slip beneath the bottom of my sweater, finding skin.

My body burns at the touch of her sweeping fingers as I try to remember where we are and that we probably have some sort of an audience. I glance over her head and I’m right. Except the audience we have is the girl who interrupted us on the ice.

I breathe and try to calm my body, but nothing works and I know nothing will until I’ve sated myself in the delicious body of the woman in my arms.

Robin nuzzles her face into the opening of my jacket, and when her fingers start to move around to the front, I grab her wrists. “I’ve wanted you for so damn long that having you in my arms with your hands on me is driving me insane.” My ragged breath fills the air as I tug Robin over to a bench to take our skates off and put our boots back on.

“Hot chocolate next, right?” I ask, and receive a smoldering look in return.

“You’re in that condition, and you want to go and get hot chocolate?” She raises a brow when I grin, and she adds, “Really?”

“Really,” I answer. “I want you, Robin. Make no mistake about that. My body can’t hide anything from you and I’ve always been an open book were you’re concerned. But I’m not going to make love to you until you’re in the same place that I am in regards to us.”

I hide my smile when she pouts in disappointment.

“Until you get there, I’m just going to have to be satisfied with my own hand in the shower,” I add and start laughing at the look of indignation on her face.

“I could help you with that,” she offers and rests her palm high on my thigh.

My dick had started to calm down but with her touch, it’s rock hard and begging me to say yes.

“I think,” I start, not really knowing what the hell to say, “that, um, we need to change the subject.”

“Why haven’t you asked what I want?” Robin asks as she zips her boots up. “I mean, I might want you to make love to me. You’re not the only one who has had to resort to their own hand you know.” Robin stands, and with a twinkle in her eyes, turns and walks deeper into the park.

It takes me a minute to get my dirty thoughts together enough to go after her. When I do, I wrap my arm around her waist, turn her so that her back is against a tree, and crowd her with my body.

“Explain that last comment,” I growl low in her ear.

“What part do you need explaining?”

“All of it.” I rub against her and am satisfied to hear her moan in response.

She lifts her head and meets my gaze, as her eyes fill with challenge. “I was talking about lying naked on my bed with my legs spread, imagining you between them with your face buried in my pussy while I played with my nipples.”

Everything in my head disappears and is replaced with the picture that Robin has just described while my eyes watch her moisten her lips with the tip of her pink tongue.

“In my imagination, you have a tongue that works magic, and you’ve made me so wet that your fingers slip in and out of me so easily, holding me on the edge of climax,” she pants in my ear while I try so damn hard to control the rush of pleasure along the length of my cock.

I don’t think I have a chance of controlling my response to her words, and I certainly can’t formulate any of my own.

“I needed more and as you weren’t really with me and only in my imagination, I slipped my fingers over my soaked pussy. Mmm…it felt so good. But then I fingered myself and rubbed my clit, coming in one long orgasm with your name on my lips.”

  Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

My dick’s swollen to the point of pain. My balls have pulled up ready to release, and I can’t catch my damn breath with what she’s done to me. But I need to know, “How often?” I hiss. “Tell me.”

“Every night after I’d seen you,” she admits before burying her face in my neck.

I clutch her tightly to me while I breathe through the need to come. Her words have me on the brink, and I’ll be lucky if my balls don’t turn blue and not because of the weather.

“You really are wound up, huh?” She chuckles.

“Please tell me you made all that up. I need to hear that to calm down because imagining you doing that has me in pain.”

Robin shakes her head and bites down on my ear. “It’s true.”

Her whispered words cause goose bumps to break out on my skin, and if we were anywhere else then I’d probably already be inside of her. Her wetness surrounding my cock…

  “Ugh,” I groan.

With her so close there is no way I’m going to get my body under control, so I move her away and then walk back and forth to chase the ache away. It doesn’t help much, but at least it stops hurting.

“I’m sorry, Leo.” Robin stands in front of me. “I had no idea how much my words would affect you.”

I smile and cup her face between my palms. “You have affected me since the moment I laid eyes on you. That isn’t going to stop regardless of how much you pushed me away back at school. We’re meant to be together, Robin.” I kiss her briefly on the lips. “I have no interest in anyone else, and one of these days, hopefully soon, I’ll be able to tell everyone that you’re my girlfriend.” I kiss the tip of her nose. “You’ve no idea how much I want to be able to use those words when talking about you.”

Tears form on her lashes and when one starts to fall down her beautiful face, I kiss it away and leave her trembling.

“I always liked you. Right from the start. I told myself that when I went to college that I wasn’t going to date until my final year. I didn’t want any distractions in getting there. I don’t have a good track record of sticking to things, so I wanted to prove to myself and my family and friends that I could. It hurt me to push you away, and then when you disappeared, I missed you.” She shrugs, trying to look indifferent, but now I know better. “I looked for you, and even asked a few of the guys I’d seen you around with as to where you’d gone.”

I wrap my arms around her and hold her close. “No more pushing anyone away, okay? I’ll help you stay in school, if you promise not to shove me out the door.”

“I promise, but we need to take things slow. I’ve never had a relationship before. I mean, I dated in high school, but never with anyone who snuck into my heart.”

I sigh and hold her closer still at hearing her admission. “Anything, as long as we’re together.”

I’m in her heart…just like she’s been in mine.

Silence settles around us in the cold and before too long, I kiss the top of Robin’s head and wrap my fingers around one of her hands. “Let me buy you a hot chocolate and a snickerdoodle before we head inside.”

Robin smiles, goes up on her tiptoes and hovers over my lips. “I’d like that,” she whispers before giving me a soft, gentle kiss. My mouth follows hers as she pulls away.

I grin and quickly grab her for another quick kiss before I pull her back onto the path. “You know,” I start, “I’m sure I caught sight of your brother near the hot chocolate stand with Callie.”

“What?” Robin stops walking and groans, looking off in that direction. “I don’t want to spend our day with my brother. Especially if he decides to glare at you the whole time.”

Chuckling, I give her a tug and get us moving again. “I really don’t mind, Robin. He’s your brother and wants to look out for you.”

“He’s a pain in my ass.”

“I haven’t seen him since so stop worrying,” I admit.

The last thing I want is for her to be constantly looking for her brother. I should have thought before speaking. The thing is Reece doesn’t bother me. In fact, I find him amusing. At the end of the day he just wants to make sure Robin isn’t getting involved with someone who only wants one thing. I want it, but I want a hell of a lot more with her an
d for the first time since I met her, I’ve started to believe that will finally be happening.

Wrapping my arm around her shoulders, we walk toward the stall selling sweet treats and for the first time since I’ve gotten my hands on her, I feel the chill through my jeans.

As I exhale the air appears like vapor, and Robin laughs. “It’s turned colder.” She smiles up at me. “The snow will be here soon. I can’t wait.”

  “You like snow?”

“I love snow,” she adds. “We don’t get any as a rule, but on the rare occasion we have it’s been more of a light sprinkle I guess. So I’m going to be really disappointed if the forecaster gets it wrong on this occasion.”

  “I don’t think he’s wrong.”

At the stall my stomach growls.

Laughing, Robin says, “Why don’t we skip this and go and get something to eat?” Her hand rests on my stomach, and even though I have layers of clothing on, I feel her touch to my bones.

“There’s food here.” I clear my throat. “But, I wouldn’t mind going someplace else.” I quickly kiss her lips and then go back for seconds, and thirds.

Breaking away, Robin’s face is alight with happiness.

“You”—I cup her face with my gloved hands—“are beautiful.” I dip my head and give her one last lingering kiss before I take hold of her hand. “Let’s go and get something to eat, and get warm in the process.”

“Leo,” she whispers. “I’m sorry.” Tears swim in her eyes as she glances away and then back to me. “I’m really sorry for always saying no when I really wanted to say yes.”

  “We’re together now, Robin.”

  “Sure of yourself, huh?”

“Babe, I waited so long to have you here with me that I have no plans on letting you go.” I tug her into my arms and hold her. “You’ll feel the same the more time you spend with me.” I pray.

“I’m already starting to feel that way.” She pulls back and meets my delighted gaze. “Don’t let that go to your head though.”

Never more serious than anything before, I admit, “It went to my heart instead.”
