Silent Night (Bad Boy Rockers Book 6) Page 8

by Lexi Buchanan

Walking over to the entrance of Kix, I smile as Mara and Jessie walk inside. They both look freezing so I waste no time in grabbing Mara’s hands to warm them in mine. “Where’s your jacket?”

“I only went outside to get Jessie because she wouldn’t walk in on her own.” Mara shivers. “It’s started to snow.” She grins. “I can’t wait to see everything covered.”

I frown because as much as I’ll love the same, I don’t want to risk Mara being outside in the snow. All she’d have to do is put one foot wrong and she’d be down. I’m worried but know better than to tell her so.

Mara removes her hands from mine and slides them behind my neck. They still have a chill to them that sends goose bumps to break out on my skin from her touch. It isn’t just the cold affecting me though. It’s having her close.

“I can see the worry that you can’t hide. I won’t be doing anything stupid, and if you insist, I’ll let you hold me up to get to the car so that I don’t lose my footing.” She reaches up and kisses me. “I love you and our babies. Don’t worry.” She smiles and takes my hand.

“No more going outside without your jacket either.” I tap her on the ass.

Her eyes narrow and become heated. “Okay, and stop touching the goods while we’re not alone.” I wink and watch as she smiles before turning to Jessie. “Come and sit and tell us about dinner.”

Jessie rolls her eyes. “Dinner from hell you mean.”

One thing I can say about Mara’s family is that they know what they want, and are entertaining. But as long as Mara is in my arms for always then I stay out of a lot of the drama that goes along with being a Kincaid.

I sit Mara down at the table and with a kiss on the top of her head, I leave her to chat with the girls while I go and join my two impatient friends on the stage.

On the way up there, I wave to Ryder who is standing to one side smiling at something his brother, Jace, is saying to him.

Jace turns and acknowledges me before turning back to Ryder.

The arrival of Jace means that Savannah will be around, and probably catching up with Dahlia.

My heart turns over with love when I spot Mara watching me climb up to the stage. She winks and blows me a kiss before turning back to her sister. I’m so damn lucky she’s mine.

  Mara

“Your husband is so wrapped around your finger that it’s embarrassing,” Jessie drawls.

I clamp my teeth together to keep my sharp words inside because she’s acting like a sulking teenager.

  “I don’t know—” Jessie starts.

“Stop now,” I bite out. “Donovan is my husband and he’s my heart. Don’t get prissy with me because Mom arranged a dinner with Adam at the house. I had nothing to do with that.”

She glares at me before she glances at Thalia and Callie. Turning back to me, she offers, “I’m sorry.”

I breathe easier. “Was it that bad?”

“Mom kept asking Adam about his college. What his plans are. Is he single, and God…” Jessie drops her head into her hands. “She wouldn’t let it drop. By the end of dinner Adam had the idea that we’d go out for a drive. Mom told him I’d grab my jacket.” She shrugged, and seconds later it dawned on me what she’d done.

“You snuck out back, didn’t you?”

  Jessie bit her lip.

“Oh my God, you did! Jessie.”

“Look,” she sighs, “trying to talk to Mom once she gets an idea is impossible. You know this? We’re all the same, Mara. I kinda feel sorry for whoever I end up with.”

Laughing, I have to agree with her.

“Mara’s just like her,” Callie adds.

  We look at her.

“What? You are. I mean, Robin as well. She has Leo’s tongue hanging out of his mouth.”

“Leo?” Jessie sits straighter in her chair. “Leo’s here?”

I face Jessie. “You know all about him and you haven’t told me?”

“Seriously, Mara? If I tell you something, you’d tell Donovan who will then go and gossip to Reece and Jack like a woman, and then Reece would get all up in her business.”

Opening my mouth to reply, I have second thoughts and take a drink of the hot chocolate in front of me, which isn’t all that hot anymore. It will do while I think about what she’s said, and then I start laughing and meet the amused gazes of my friends.

  “She’s right, isn’t she?”

Thalia chuckles. “Oh yes. My husband can gossip with the best of them.”

“So can Reece,” Callie adds, and blows my brother a kiss on the stage.

“They’re as bad as each other…I wouldn’t change them for anything.” I sympathize with Jessie, and taking her hand, I squeeze. “I’m sorry you can’t always talk to me, but I’m here for you if you need me, and Donovan won’t ever say anything to the guys if I ask him not to. That I promise.”

“Thanks.” Jessie grins. “When are they going to sing?” She nods to the stage.

  I laugh. “They’ll be gossiping.”

“Ugh. Men are worse than women. They get it wrong half the time as well.” She shoves away from the table. “I’m going to introduce myself to Leo.” Jessie grins with a wicked gleam in her eye.

I watch her move toward the bar and groaning, I turn back to my friends. “She is trouble.”

“She won’t do anything to hurt Robin, will she?” Thalia asks worriedly.

Shaking my head, I reply, “No. She might put Leo on the spot with what he feels for Robin, but she won’t do or say anything to keep them apart.” I glance toward the bar. “To be honest I’m not sure anything could be said or done to keep them apart.”

“I agree,” Callie says. “They looked really cozy at the house the other day and that was the first time they’d been anywhere together…Anyway, enough about them. How are you doing?”

I smile softly, and stroke over my belly. “I’m not too bad. The sickness is slowly subsiding and I’m beginning to enjoy being pregnant. The fear of two babies is still there I guess, but we’ll manage.”

Glancing at the stage, I catch Donovan’s gaze and my heart warms. “I love that man.” I turn my gaze to Callie and ask, “How’s my brother?”

Callie chuckles. “Reece is…Reece. He’s calmed down over Robin.” Callie’s smile dims. “It took me admitting not sharing the news about my pregnancy right away to make him realize how he’d been with me.” Tears swim on her lashes.

I reach out and clasp her hand along with Thalia. “Oh, honey.”

She shakes her head. “We’re fine now and in a way, I’m glad that there was something to shake him up, you know.” Callie blinks away her tears and after squeezing our hands, sits back in the chair. “I don’t want Reece to see me upset, or he’ll worry.”

Personally, I think it would do my brother good to see how much he hurt his wife, but instead I glare at him and watch a frown appear on his brow when he glances between his wife and me. I shake my head and grin when he looks back at me before I turn my attention to Donovan.

He’s sexy up there on the stage and my eyes caress him while my body hums with arousal at the thought of being wrapped around him later. The amazing things he does to me.

“Will you stop?” Thalia lightly hits me on the arm. “They need to rehearse and Donovan looks seconds away from jumping off the stage and ravishing you.

  “Mmm, I wouldn’t mind,” I admit.

The song that they sing ends and Callie’s eyes widen as she watches over my shoulders. “Um, I think you’re about to get your wish.”

I turn and find my sexy ass husband striding toward me.

  Donovan

After having Mara looking at me as though I’m on stage naked, my dick is so hard that I could pound nails into rock. So as I stride over to the delicious woman, I watch as her eyes narrow before they widen in surprise.

“Excuse us.” I help Mara to her feet and head toward Ryder’s office, but suddenly change direction. No matter how much my body aches to have Mara wrapped arou
nd me, I want to hold her close and dance.

So that’s what we do. I wrap my arms tightly around her, tuck her head under my chin and sway to the music. Having her so close when I ache and have no intention of doing anything about it isn’t the best choice I’ve ever made, but it’s one I can live with.

Mara nuzzles against my chest, and whispers, “I thought you wanted something else.”

I rest my cheek on the top of her head. “I did, but then I changed my mind. I’m still aching for you, but I wanted this more.”

She offers a contented sigh. “You make my heart ache with the love I feel for you.” Her hands contract on my back as we continue dancing slowly.

The woman in my arms really is my one and only…my everything.

  Robin

  Jailbait…

The words ring in my ears as I snap my head to the guy who just uttered them. My eyes widen in surprise when I realize he’s just said them to my sister Jessie.

I narrow my gaze and move closer to them, just in time to stop my sister from giving the big guy a mouth full.

  “Jessie,” I snap.

The guy turns to look at me. “Sisters?”

“Yes,” I reply without moving my gaze from Jessie.

She’s wound up about something and that something is going to be getting her into trouble if she doesn’t cool it down. I guess hearing the word out of the guys mouth hasn’t helped any because she’s sensitive about her age—about the fact that the rest of us are legal in bars where as she isn’t.

“What’s going on with you?” I ask and watch as she exhales before taking the seat at the bar.

The man already sitting glances over at her before focusing back on his drink.

“Mom set me up with Adam, so I snuck out the back window.”

I stare at my sister wondering what the hell. “You seriously snuck away? Jessie!”

“Look, I had to sit through dinner with Mom and him, okay? I was ready to scream, so by the time Mom suggested we go for a drive, I’d had enough. I figured it was easier leaving via the back window than staying and opening my mouth.” Jessie sighs. “I hate being put on the spot, Robin. I’m the only one she’s ever tried to fix up. Why? I don’t understand. I even told Reece, thinking he’d get involved, except he practically patted me on the head and told me to carry on.”

I roll my eyes. “That’s because Reece knows you’re not interested in Adam. So no threat.”

“Yeah, well. I acted like a ten year old.” She groans and drops her forehead to the bar.

At this point, I notice the guy sitting beside Jessie, as he caresses her long dark hair with his eyes before he catches my gaze and offers a wry smile.

  Who is he?

“And you are?” I ask, straightening.

“Evan,” he replies, a bit rough around the edges.

I feel Leo move in, and he asks, “Everything okay here?”

Glancing over my shoulder, I smile and nod. “I think so.”

He squeezes my hip as he moves to fill some orders, but I feel his eyes on us. Jessie’s loud, panicked moan drags my attention back to her.

  “Adam,” she growls.

  “What?”

“Adam is here.” She ducks her head but points over her shoulder. “What the hell am I supposed to do?”

“Dance with me,” Evan says, and shrugs when our eyes focus on him. “I haven’t danced in years, but I’m sure I can manage a slow dance if you’re game,” he offers Jessie.

Jessie blinks and for the first time she actually sees the guy, which causes panic to flutter through me. The guy is attractive in an older man sort of way, but he’s just a stranger in a bar.

“Sis, stop worrying,” Jessie drawls and jumping down from the stool, stands beside Evan. “Let’s dance.” She smiles.

Evan clears his throat and standing, places his hand on Jessie’s back. He leans over the bar and begs, “Please tell me she’s at least over eighteen.”

At first I don’t know how to answer, but when I meet his gaze and see the worry there, I whisper, “She’s twenty.” He visibly relaxes, but not by much.

I watch them go and smile when Leo’s hand trails down my back to curve over my hip in a possessive move. “What was that all about?”

“He was checking if she was legal,” I frown. “He looks…sad, I guess.”

“He looks too old for her,” he whispers into my ear, sending goose bumps all over my skin.

Turning to face him, I slip my fingers into the front of his jeans and tug him closer. Leo’s gaze focuses on my lips as I reply, “He offered to dance with her because she’s hiding from someone Mom is trying to get her back together with. She isn’t interested.” I grin and rub my finger into his belly, smiling as he growls.

“When you two have, um, finished, can we get some drinks,” Callie hollers down the bar.

Turning, I roll my eyes at the wicked look on Callie’s face. I shake a finger in her direction and laugh.

“We’ll get back to that position later,” I promise Leo.

His eyes darken and before I know what he has planned, he quickly kisses me followed by a smack on my bottom. “I’ll hold you to that.” He walks in the opposite direction, leaving me to my sister-in-law, but not before I catch a glimpse of the bulge behind his zipper.

Smiling to myself, I move in front of Callie and let my grin widen. “What can I get you?”

“Hmm,” she sighs and rests her head in her hands on the bar. “That”—she points—“was getting really hot.” She raises a brow. “I’m waiting.”

“I didn’t know you were that thirsty,” I reply, knowing that wasn’t what she meant.

I quickly grab their drinks and place them on a tray in front of Callie, who is still smiling and her eyes are alight with mischief. “What?” I finally demand.

“You need a break, and so does your hot guy.”

“Callie, we can’t take a break together.”

“Who says?” She reaches for the tray. “Sue and David just arrived, and Kix isn’t that busy yet.” She smiles. “Go take a break now before it gets too busy in here.”

Callie moves her eyes between us before she lifts the tray and walks back to their table.

“Take a break,” I mumble. “Can we?”

Sue comes behind the bar and starts flirting with Leo, so that kind of answers my own question.

Moving behind Sue, I say, “Hey, we’ve been waiting for you and David to arrive. We’re going to take a break while it isn’t busy.” I don’t give her a chance to reply, and grabbing hold of Leo’s hand, our fingers intertwine. Leo’s face lights up with amusement, but there’s something else in his eyes and I have a feeling that I’m about to get into the naughty kind of trouble. “We’re taking thirty,” I shout over my shoulder as Leo drags me from behind the bar.

Quickly moving down the hall, Leo puts me in front of him, his hand resting on my belly. “Where do you want to go?” he whispers the question, his voice causing my body to throb.

I need to think. “Somewhere private.”

Leo chuckles behind me. “I have the place.” He moves closer and as I walk, I feel his erection brush against my bottom.

My heart starts an arousing beat as heat rushes through me. So walking past the small staff room, I tug us inside and quickly grab our jackets.

I smile as Leo only has his half on and then he’s grabbing my hand and has me outside and inside his truck before I can even blink.

The shock of the cold weather is a surprise, but with the way Leo looks at me, and the bulge behind his zipper, I’m guessing I’m going to be overheating really soon.

Leo is a handsome man and someone who has never wavered in his pursuit of me. Even when I thought he’d given up, he hadn’t and turned up in my hometown for the holidays. I couldn’t be happier and now it’s my turn to make sure that there is no doubt about how much I want him.

I offer him a small smile and placing my hand on his thigh, he twitches beneath. Sliding my han
d closer to the large bulge, he starts to grow and twitch. I glance at Leo and notice a small blush coating his cheekbones. “I want you,” I whisper, and watch my hand as I finally press against his erection.

Leo gasps and his thighs quiver. “You’re playing with fire,” he hisses when I stroke and start straddling his thighs.

I settle on his lap as he pushes the seat as far back as it will go. He tips the back as well, which gives us a bit more room considering he’s tall.

His hands curve over my hips to grip my bottom and then my mouth is on his. I grip his head to keep him against me, and devour his mouth as though I’m starving for him. I guess I am. He brings me closer and the feel of that large bulge where I need him the most causes my eyes to roll.

I grind against his erection, feeling my orgasm rushing forward. He catches my groan with his mouth, and when his hands slip into the back of my jeans, he holds me down on him as his hips arch and I come. I release in one long climax of pleasure, throwing my head back. Leo’s beard tickles my chest as the buttons pop on my shirt and he nibbles on my neck.

Gasping for breath, I slowly come back to the here and now with a sultry smile on my face. “Better than my finger,” I admit, and watch as Leo’s eyes darken.

He closes his eyes, his jaw tense and his hands shake against me.

Reaching out, I make quick work of the fastening of his jeans and gasp when his huge cock springs free.

He chuckles and opens his eyes to watch me.

I only briefly meet his gaze because I’ve wondered what he looks like, and now that he’s right in front of me, I plan on getting my fill.

His cock is long, thick, and pulses with a life of its own as pre-cum pools on the tip. Licking my lips, I quickly glance at his hooded-eyes and reach out to trace from base to the bulging head. He hisses and arches into my touch.

“I’m close to the edge after watching you get off on me,” he admits, his hands caressing my chest.

He tugs the cups of my bra down, releasing my breasts, and with his eyes on me, my pussy throbs as arousal starts coursing through me again.
