Donut Overthink It

I smile. I like her like this. Nervous. Off her game. When we’re at the office, she acts like she fucking hates me. Her nose stuck in the air with a bitchy look on her face. Right here, right now, she looks so out of her element, and I find it sexy as hell.
“Is that what you want?” I ask her, instead of commenting on her statement. I know I’m out of line, but I can’t help it. And it’s too late. I’ve already said it.
She sucks in a long breath, and it makes her tits rise under her dress. My eyes drop to watch them, and her breathing picks up. I lift my eyes back up to hers. “Do I make you nervous, Miss Burns?” I remove my right fist from the wall and wrap a curl of her soft blond hair around my finger.
Her eyes are wide. I can feel her breath on my face, and my eyes drop to her lips. I have to refrain from kissing her right here and now. She licks her lips, and I growl deep in my chest. Fuck, she wants me as bad as I want her.
“No … sir.” She breathes, and I smirk at the look of longing on her face. I bet her pussy is wet for me right now.
“Then why don’t you come home with me,” I offer.
She whimpers and closes her eyes. I lean in once again, my fingers dropping the curl I was twirling and slide them into her hair. Her body softens as I press mine into hers, a soft moan escaping her lips. “I promise you won’t be texting your friend to come and rescue you.”
“Mr. Kyle,” she breathes, a shudder wracking her body. Her hands come up to my chest, and she pushes me away. I take a step back, and she straightens her shoulders and lifts her chin. “No, sir.”
My smirk grows into a full smile, and her eyes narrow on me. I lean in once again, and she gasps as I inhale her deeply. Closing my eyes, I wonder if her pussy tastes as good as she smells. Fuck, I gotta get away from her. I pull back without saying another word and walk to the men’s bathroom, leaving her in the hallway.
CHAPTER FOUR
HADLEY
I SHOVE THE BATHROOM DOOR open and enter it once again, this time on shaky legs. What the hell was that?
I place my hands on the sink and bow my head as I try to will my heart to slow. It’s beating so hard my chest is tight.
What is he doing here? And what the fuck was he thinking? I mean, I know what I was thinking. Please save me from this horrible date and just fuck me came to mind several times. I was practically screaming it in my mind.
My pussy is wet, and the man didn’t even touch me. What the hell? Why was he so close? So dominating? He hates me! Come home with me. What did he expect us to do? Play chess.
He’s been playing head games with me for three months now but this? He must really want me to quit.
Let me give you a little advice. If you’re not interested in fucking him, then walk away. Because that’s all us men think about.
My pussy tightens, remembering his body so close to mine.
Was he thinking about fucking me? Of course, he was. He asked me to go home with him.
But what if that was a test? And as soon as I said yes, he’d laugh in my face and say You’re fired, Miss Burns. I can’t let him win. Won’t let him win.
Taking a deep breath, I realize I have been away from the table for over fifteen minutes. Nate probably thinks I’ve fallen in. Or worse, that I have the shits.
Running a hand down my dress, I let out a long breath and walk out the door. You can do this! Forget about your boss and the way he just made a pass at you. No matter how much you wanted him to follow through with it.
The first thing I do is look around for him. I wish I could be discreet, but I’ve never been good at nonchalant.
“There you are. Everything okay?” Nate asks as I sit down.
I nod, still looking around the restaurant. It’s packed for a Tuesday night. The lights are dim, making it hard to read the menu, and of course, I don’t have my glasses on or contacts in. “What’s good here?” I ask, putting it down.
My eyes scan the right side of the restaurant, but I come up with nothing. Maybe he’s still in the bathroom.
“Everything,” Nate replies.
I scan the left. Nothing. Maybe he went home. “You eat meat, right?” I hear Nate ask.
“I could use some sausage right now,” I mumble to myself.
“What?”
“Nothing.” I just nod as I turn my head to look over my shoulder. And my eyes catch his. He’s staring right at me. A glass is to his lips as he sips the dark liquid, and he smirks at me over the rim. My heart starts to pound, and that throbbing I had earlier between my legs returns. I’m so screwed. I’m gonna have to quit. He’s gonna force my hand.
But I didn’t come this far to be another one of those weak assistants like he’s had in the past. I’m stronger than they are. I can put up with his demands and hateful attitude. But sex? Can I put up with him playing with my body? There’s only one way to find out.
I turn back to face Nate and smile. He’s staring at me strangely. “Thought I saw someone I knew.” Half lie.
He nods. “But everything is okay?”
I nod. “Perfect.”
AIDEN
I’ve been watching her with her date for the past thirty minutes. She’s laughed at what I can only guess are his stupid jokes. She smiles at him like she’s having fucking fun. Not like she just sent out an SOS text earlier.
She sits there with her right hand around her glass of water and her left hand in her lap. I’m surprised she isn’t drinking a glass of wine or champagne. He must have been too cheap to order her one. He’s drinking Coke. What kind of man brings a woman to this type of restaurant for a date and orders pop?
I fist my hand around my glass when I realize he probably drove her here. Which means he’ll be taking her home. It’s a shame. A man like him won’t know what to do with a woman like her. If I had brought her here, I’d have her sitting next to me in the back of the restaurant in a booth with my hand up her dress and her panties pulled to the side. It’s plenty dark enough in this establishment to get away with that. I wouldn’t be yapping her head off, but I would have my hands all over her. Her lips on mine. I’d have her gasping in my ear. My hands in her hair. She would know exactly what I wanted from her, and it wouldn’t be innocent.
Her black dress is not too short, but it shows off more than her usual work outfits. It’s sleeveless but has a high neck. I have a feeling she wanted to hide her tits, but it did the opposite. You can see the curve of those big bastards. She’s so small everywhere else, but her tits are huge. And they’re real. I’ve seen them bounce around too many times in the office for them to be fake. I don’t care how much women pay for them; no doctor is that good.
“Aiden, you have been quiet tonight,” my father observes.
I look over at him. “Just have a lot on my mind.”
“Your brother informed me that you two won your case today,” he says and then frowns. “I came into your office wanting to have lunch.”
“I was out.” I nod, before taking another drink.
His smile returns. “Yes, he also mentioned that you met up with Trent. How is he doing?”
“Well. He and Evelyn are getting married,” I announce.
He glances over at Asher, and they exchange a look I can’t quite place, then he looks back at me. “Well … that is exciting news.”
I salute him with my raised glass and then throw it back. “It is,” I agree. Taking a quick look back over at their table, I see a busboy cleaning it off. I take another look around and spot them walking toward the door together. He’s speaking to her while she gives him a smile. His hand goes to the small of her back as he guides her out the front door, and my jaw tightens knowing that the bastard is about to get lucky.
I lift my empty drink, hoping our waitress gets the hint and brings me another one.
CHAPTER FIVE
HADLEY
I SIT IN THE BATHTUB FULL OF bubbles with my Kindle in my hand. I’m on chapter twelve of a new book, and the tension between the flight attendant and the pilot i
s heated. When they finally have sex, it’s going to be off the charts hot.
“I can’t,” she whispers even though the throbbing between her legs is telling her to throw caution to the wind.
“Please,” he begs as his chocolate eyes stare into hers. They drop to her lips, and he lets out a moan. It’s almost her undoing. “Just dinner.”
Why not? She has to eat. “Okay,” she finally answers. “Just dinner.”
He leans into her, the corner of his lips twitching. “I want you for dessert.”
My phone ringing interrupts me, and I sigh, leaning over the tub to see it’s Andrea. “Hello?”
“Do you still need me to stage a rescue mission?” she asks in greeting.
I laugh. “No. But thanks for waiting two hours. I could have been dead and buried in the desert by now.”
She laughs like I’m funny. “We don’t live near a desert.”
I roll my eyes.
“Anyway,” she continues. “I’m sorry. I was with my mom—”
“No need to apologize,” I interrupt her. “I didn’t know you were seeing her tonight.”
“It wasn’t planned. The nursing home called me and said she was lucid and asking for me.”
I place my Kindle on the floor and sink back into the bathtub. “Do you wanna talk about it?” Her mom has advanced Alzheimer’s. They have always been really close, so I know how hard this is for her. She takes every second she can get with her.
“No. Tell me about your date,” she answers, trying to avoid the conversation about her mother. She never wants to talk about it, and I don’t blame her. There are things I avoid too.
I blow a few loose strands of blond hair out of my face. “He’s a momma’s boy.”
She laughs. “Oh no, those are the worst.”
“Right? She called him, and his screen lit up mommy.”
“You’re joking?” she asks, her laughter growing.
“I wish. While driving me home, he said that for our second date, he wants to take me to her house so she can cook us dinner.”
“What the actual hell?”
“I couldn’t stop laughing. I think I hurt his feelings,” I say, laughing at the memory.
“I think he needs therapy,” she adds. It gets quiet for a second, and I hear her let out a long breath. “I miss you.”
“I miss you too,” I say, slicing my right hand through the bubbles. “How have you been?”
She sighs. “So busy.”
She works two jobs, and I know even that isn’t enough for her and the bills she has from her mother.
“Seeing anyone?” I ask.
She laughs softly. “Nothing serious.”
“Are we meeting up tomorrow for our usual Wednesday night drinks?” It’s been our tradition since college, but as we got older, life got in the way. Then I moved away for a little while. Even since I’ve been back, it’s been hard to find the time to meet for drinks and girl talk.
“I can’t,” she answers sadly. “I have plans with my brother. He is coming to town with his wife and wants to spend time with Mom. What about next Monday?”
“I can’t. Mr. Kyle has some benefit he’s going to, and I have to attend.”
“How are things going with him? Do we still want to use his balls as a punching bag?”
“Absolutely.” She knows how he gets under my skin and how big of a dick he is. But when I ran into him tonight, I couldn’t remember a single bad moment with him. I just kept thinking holy shit! What is he doing here? And is he staring at my tits? Am I imagining it? I was all hot and bothered. Hence the need for a hot bubble bath once returning home.
“You didn’t sound so sure of that. What happened?” she asks after my silence.
“I saw him tonight while I was at dinner with Nate.” I cup my right breast at the mention of him.
“And?” She digs.
“He looked amazing,” I say with a sigh, closing my eyes.
She chuckles. “I don’t care how hot he is; he treats you like shit. And plus, men who are hot like that suck in bed.” She’s never seen Aiden, but I’ve described him to her so many times she might as well have.
My eyes open, and I chuckle. “How do you know?”
“Experience,” she answers simply. “Men like him think they’re tough and perfect.” I can almost hear her rolling her eyes. “He probably has a small dick.”
I laugh and lie. “Probably.” I saw the outline in his boxers that night he was about to have sex with the blonde on his desk, and he was nowhere near small.
“Well, I’m glad you’re still alive, and again, I’m sorry I was so late,” she says, her voice softening to a whisper.
“No need to apologize,” I assure her.
“I will talk to you tomorrow,” she says.
“I love you.”
“Love you too.” She hangs up, and I toss my phone to the floor. I think about picking up my Kindle but decide against it. Instead, I lower myself back into the tub and close my eyes. My right hand trails down into the water and over my stomach. I touch myself as I imagine myself in a flight attendant uniform and Mr. Kyle is my pilot. But only, I’m the one begging to be dessert.
AIDEN
I walk into my penthouse and throw my keys onto the kitchen counter before making it back to my bedroom. I quickly undo the buttons on my shirt and throw it to the floor along with my slacks, not even bothering to pick them up.
I fall onto the bed and let out a frustrated sigh. I’ve tried to ignore my attraction to her for so long now that I just can’t deny myself anymore. I’ve reached that limit. I’ve never heard her mention a boyfriend or even dating. And I could tell by her message earlier that tonight was a first date. And the thought of him touching her right now is driving me mad.
I reach over, grab my phone, and call her. Unable to stop myself. If she’s with him, I want to cockblock him.
I’m fifteen again.
It starts to ring, and for a second, I don’t think she’s going to pick up. But finally, on the fourth ring, she answers.
“Hello?” comes her soft voice.
My cock instantly hardens, and I refrain from groaning. “Miss Burns,” I say with more authority than I meant.
“Yes, Mr. Kyle?” she asks, and I can tell she’s breathing heavily. Has he already fucked her?
I listen to try to hear if he’s in the background, but all I get is her breathing. I clear my throat. “I need you in early tomorrow,” I lie and then cuss myself. What am I gonna have her do?
There’s a long pause before she finally says, “Okay.” Another pause. “What is it you need me to do?” That’s a loaded fucking question.
Me! “I’m meeting with a new client tomorrow.” I know she is wondering why I would need to be in early for that.
“Okay, sir.”
My cock twitches at the way she calls me sir, and I imagine her lying next to me right now. Her blond hair fanned out on the white pillow, her lips glistening from a long kiss, and her nipples hard from my teeth nibbling on them. And her pussy … fuck, I imagine it so wet and ready for my tongue and cock. Her body shaking and her eyes closed as she moans out my name. My hand slides down over my stomach and grips the base of my cock.
“Mr. Kyle? About tonight …” She pauses, and I clear my throat, letting go of myself.
I run a hand through my hair and let out a sigh. “Seven o’clock, Miss Burns, and don’t be late,” I order and then hang up, not wanting to discuss what I did earlier.
“Fuck!” I growl, tossing my phone onto the bed beside me and getting up to take another shower like I did before dinner.
CHAPTER SIX
HADLEY
RUNNING INTO THE LOBBY OF MY OFFICE building, I’m panting once again. But I’m only ten minutes late this time.
Just like yesterday, I run toward the elevator banks with my purse hanging on one arm and a box of fresh donuts in the other. Jumping in with a smile, I come to a quick stop when I see my boss already in it. But he looks c
ompletely different then he did when I saw him leaving work yesterday. He has a pair of gray sweatpants on that hang low on his narrow hips with a fitted white Under Armour shirt. His dark hair is slicked back from sweat, and his shirt clings to his body, showcasing every muscle. My heart picks up, remembering the way he pushed me up against the wall last night.
His eyes meet mine, and then he looks down at his phone in his hand. “You’re late.”
He always states the obvious. Like I didn’t just fucking run a block to try to make it on time. I try to catch my breath. “Yes, I’m sorry …”
“Why is it that you can’t make it on time?” he asks with narrowed eyes, and I wonder if he’s mad at me over last night at the restaurant. Was I supposed to throw myself at him? Was it a test for me to quit? I’m not sure what he wants me to do. When he called me, I had the courage to mention it, but then he blew it off. I hate to say that I was glad he did.
I stomp my foot. “It wasn’t my fault—”
“It never is,” he interrupts me.
I let out a growl. But this time I’m telling the truth. My cab broke down, and I had to run the rest of the way. But like always, I keep my mouth shut.
His eyes sweep over my fitted white dress with black stitching and Nikes, and they come back up to mine accusingly. I pat my purse, taking a deep breath. Fuck, why am I so out of shape? “I have my heels in here,” I inform him.
He pushes off the wall, and I take a step back. Oh God, not this again. I can only take so much. Eventually, I’m going to beg him to touch me.
“Hello, Hadley.”
I swing around to see Trevor getting on before the doors shut. “Trevor,” I say with a sigh of relief. Thankful that Mr. Kyle and I won’t be stuck in here alone.
He smiles brightly at me. “How are you today? You look lovely,” he says before I can answer his first question. Then he looks down at his watch. “You’re early.”
“She’s late,” Mr. Kyle informs him flatly.
Trevor looks at him as if he just now notices we’re not alone. His eyes narrow, and Mr. Kyle squares his shoulders. Even though I know he just came from a run, he still has this look about him. He holds authority no matter how he is dressed.
