She blinked, not bothering to hide her surprise, and then smiled. “I didn’t think you’d want another, not so soon after Lily…”
He smiled, so much love and emotion in his expression it made her heart stutter. “Always. As many as you’ll give me.”
She opened her mouth to respond, but the sharp wail from the room next door cut her off. Pushing at his shoulders, she smothered the sharp pang of disappointment as he slipped free from her. “Well, darling, if you want to work on more cubs… You better go and deal with our daughter while I go and slip into something more… comfortable, shall we say?”
Veyr grinned, the wicked expression making her shiver all over again. “Be on the bed, ass in the air, waiting for me when I get back.”
“Yes, Master,” she murmured, watching as the most powerful werewolf in the city headed out of the room at the beck and call of their tiny daughter. Smiling to herself, she slid off the dresser and padded over to the bed.
Stretching out, she arched her back lazily and arranged herself as instructed, waiting for her master, her mate, and her love, to return…
