Protect Me From My Friends Page 16

by Marcellus Allen

I looked at my team and shook my head in pure frustration. And the nigga Ralo had the dumbest look on his face that I'd ever seen. Dumb muthafucka! I took off running back to the van, feeling myself burning up inside. I knew we had just fucked up a golden opportunity. We'd never get another shot like this. Fuck!

We hopped in the van and mashed out. It was dead silent inside the van and the tension was thick. They were probably basking in our failure, tryna figure out where the fuck we went wrong. I was biting my lip, tryna calm my anger down. My inner demons were begging me to shoot Ralo right in his fuckin' head. I made eye contact with him and I could see that he knew he'd fucked up. I looked away before I boiled the nigga.

  ***

Twenty minutes later, we walked through the basement door of our stash house. Nobody had said a single word up until this point. I yanked my pistol out and pointed it right at Ralo's forehead. He looked confused as a muthafucka like he ain't know what he did to deserve what was coming. Beast and Premo sat on the couch and stared at us like they were preparing to watch a good movie.

“What we have here is a failure to communicate,” I spat.

“What the fuck is you talkin' about?” he fired back. He didn't show a trace of fear in his eyes. He either didn't think he was going to die or he just didn't care if he did.

“When I give you an order, I expect you to follow it to the muthafuckin' T. You don't get to play by your own fuckin' rules however you see fit. Nigga, you just fucked up our ace in the hole! We'll never have another chance like this! Now we wont be able to use Olay against him. He's probably already figured the shit out. You know how many people might get killed 'cause you fucked up?” I felt my finger adding pressure to the trigga.

We stood there in silence for seconds, but it felt like minutes. I could see him thinking it over about how much he had fucked up. But his look of defiance was still there.

“He killed yo’ cousin in cold blood,” he stated real low, then paused to let it sink in. “But he killed both of my brothers and grandfather while my sister cried in the closet.” He took a few steps closer until the barrel was touching his head. He stared right in my eyes and I saw absolutely nothing.

“So, yeah. I fucked up and it won’t happen again but put yourself in my shoes. I'm ready to die my nigga, but I can't 'cause that pussy is still breathing and I got a sister to feed.”

His words found a soft spot in my heart, so I lowered the gun. He meant every word he said. It was all in his eyes. They never lie. He stood face to face with me and didn't even bat an eye. Not because he didn't respect my gangsta, ‘cause he knew I was the biggest killah in the city. But because he had truly lost his soul and vengeance was the only thing driving him.

“I don't wanna see you until you bring me one of those niggaz’ heads. Make up for you fuck up, blood. Now I gotta go explain shit to the plug.” I walked past him to the couch as he walked outta the door.

“That nigga had you spooked, son,” Beast said.

“Word is bond,” Premo added, then they busted out laughing.

I was gone flash on them idiots, but decided they weren't worth the air. Stupid muthafuckaz. I pulled my phone out and called Olay.

“I don't know why the fuck your calling me, nigga! You put two bullets through my front windshield! You coulda killed my son!” she yelled soon as she answered. Shit!

“My bad, baby. That shit was an accident It wasn't suppose to happen like that.” I heard the phone beep in my ear. Bitch hung up. That was the last thing I needed. As long as Marshawn didn't figure out that I needed her.

I called her back as I headed up the stairs. I didn't need my two dumb ass relatives talking shit while I tried to sweet talk her.

  ***

A week has passed before Ralo finally called my phone with some news I wanted to hear. But when he did, it was well worth the wait. I didn't hesitate to link up with Beast and Premo and head to the destination. Over the last few days, it had been real quiet as far as shootings go.

Marshawn's bitch ass hadn't showed his face since we let him get away. But the police had been cracking down like a muthafucka arresting niggas left and right. If gang task spotted you, then you were getting thrown outta yo’ car, no questions asked.

Every time I turned on the news, somebody's dope house was getting raided. I finally went back home, but Shanell had took most of her shit to her mama's house. I wasn't trippin' though 'cause all that did was give me the free time to shack up with Olay.

It was a win-win for me staying at her spot. I got some good pussy every night and got to monitor the situation between her and Marshawn. His pussy whipped ass hadn't even suspected her at all. He was more concerned with her safety than he was with his own.

It was a lil' past two o'clock in the morning when me, Beast and Premo pulled up in front of the house right off Killingsworth and Albina. We were in the same stolen Van from the week before. Soon as we parked, Ralo opened the door and jumped in. He was dressed in all black with a ski mask on his face like a cat burglar.

“What's the deal?” I greeted him.

“The nigga still inside the house right now. It's like I told you, he been playing house with the bitch for the last week. I kept seeing them like each other’s pictures and all that shit, so decided to stalk her house and see if he showed up. He been over here the last three nights faithfully,” he said as he broke it down to us.

“How you know she lived here?”

“I used to fuck on her best friend and dropped her off over here a few times.”

I shook my head at the irony of the situation. Portland’s black community was way too small for comfort. Everybody knew everybody and that was a dangerous thing. But for tonight, it was a beautiful thing. I smiled at Ralo, nodding my head. He had really come through.

“That's his car in the driveway?” I asked.

“Yeah, the Camaro O-dawg bought him when he got out. The niggaz a sittin' duck.”

It took me a minute to come up with a bulletproof plan, but when I did, I knew this shit was gone rip their hearts out.

“Me, you and Beast gon' wait in yo’ car down the street a lil' bit. When his bitch ass comes out, Premo, I want you to block the driveway with the van as soon as he get in the car. Once he's blocked in, that's his ass. He not getting outta this shit, on Joe.”

We hopped out and got in Ralo's whip and waited until our prey fell into our trap. After thirty minutes of nothing, I ended up dozing off. My body shut down due to lack of sleep. It had been a week since I'd got at least four hours of sleep. Shit had been real, but we were about to turn the tables on them suckaz.

“Get up, son.” Beast was elbowing me in the ribs, while hissing in my ear.

“I'm ready, I'm ready.” I blinked a few times and just like that, I was back in goon mode.

I gripped my heat with anger. I watched the sucka nigga creep outta the house and down the stairs.

“We torchin' this nigga, blood,” I whispered like he would be able to hear me.

My heart skipped a beat when he opened the car door. That's yo’ ass, nigga! Soon as he turned the engine on, Premo pulled up, blocking his exit. We hopped out like we were swat with those thangs aimed right at the Camaro.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Booya! Booya! Boc!

We was chewing his ass up. He hit the gas and tried to ram the van out the way, but that shit didn't even kinda work. Premo hopped out and joined the party.

  Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The sucka opened the door and stumbled out with his heat in his hand. He had blood covering his whole body. I don't know how he even got outta the car.

“Fuck y'all niggaz!” He got off one wild shot before he got ate up.

Our bullets spun him around, then dropped him to the pavement. We stood over him like a pack of predators. Bleed was dead to the world. He had holes in his head, neck, and chest.

  Boom!

I shot him once more for the fuck of it. I smiled at the sight of the dead sucka. A few m
ore to go, I thought as we ran away into the night

  Chapter 15

  O-dawg

  March 22nd

I woke up to my phone going off like crazy. I had hit the ignore button like five times, but they just kept on calling. Finally, Tamia got irritated and told me to answer it before the baby woke up. Shit. I grabbed my phone and walked out the room. Seventeen missed calls? I knew something was wrong. I could feel it in my gut. Before I could check who had called all those times, my phone went off again. Twin.

I prayed nothing was wrong with the team. Phatz had gotten locked up a few days before by gang task for having a pistol in the car and some powder. Today was the day he was getting out on bail and I hoped nothing had stopped that like some new charges or somethin'. We were already short on the leadership level.

“What's mobbin', nigga?” I sat on the couch and turned the TV on.

“Nigga, where you been? I've been blowing you up! I'm outside yo’ gate! Let me in!” Panic was all in his voice.

“What's wrong, nigga?” I hopped up and pushed the button to open the gate.

“They got Bleed, dawg. They got my nigga.”

I dropped the phone and sat down. My whole body went numb as my heart started to ache. I had to hurry up and wipe away the tears that escaped from my eyes. I'd just lost another best friend who'd I just talked to less than 24 hours ago. At that point, I was in too much shock to even be mad. I only felt emptiness and pain. How did they get you, brodie? I wondered to myself like he could hear me.

Twin walked in looking like he had aged ten years in one night. I looked my nigga in the eyes and could tell he had shed a few tears, too. I could also see the murderous intentions hiding inside of them, too. I was too caught up watching the news to even speak at that point.

When they showed my niggaz’ Camaro shot up like that I had to blink back a few tears. I turned that shit off and took it all in. Don't panic. “What's the bitch’s name? I asked, trying not to cry.

  “Latosha.”

“She dead. I'm not even giving her a chance to explain nothin'. We’re killin' her this week.”

“I already know, dawg. We gotta kill them fuck niggaz ASAP. They doing too much no,.” he spat.

I nodded my head. They were doing too much and now it was time to end it. It was time to use my ace in the hole. “You ever hear anything about how them suckaz knew I was at the Jack in The Box?” I asked.

“Naw, I ain't heard nothin' at all, but you already know how I feel, nigga.”

I did know how he felt. “You still think Olay had somethin' to do with it?” It had crossed my mind a few times at first, but I discarded the thoughts for the simple fact I couldn't see her putting our son’s life in jeopardy.

“C'mon, I need you to take me to pick up my rental.”

“Rental for what? You got hella cars.”

“ I wanna move without being seen. I gotta plan.”

Five minutes later, we were pulling outta my driveway. I had a lot on my mind and not enough time to figure them all out. Follow your gut.

“I want you to pick Phatz up and bring him straight to the house. I got a lot of shit to discuss with y'all niggaz that y'all don't know about,” I told him.

  “Like what?” he asked.

I closed my eyes to block the pain out. It hurt to even think about it. “I'll tell you later. Let me think.” I leaned back and let my thoughts run wild all over the place. I had gallons of tears that wanted to spill out for Bleed, but crying wasn't gonna get me nowhere. I felt like throwing up every time my mind drifted to him. I'ma kill for you, my nigga.

When we got to the rental spot, I got me a black Nissan Altima with tints on it and told Twin to meet me at my house in a few hours. I had some things I needed to check out by myself. It took me twenty minutes to reach my destination. I sat there just watching the house, tryna formulate a plan. I pulled my phone out and called Ms. Wanda.

“How you doing mom?...I'm good. I was just in the neighborhood and was wondering did you have Mar-Mar?...Tomorrow?....A'ight, I'll try to swing by then.”

I hung up. My mind went back to planning mode. It was way too many boxes that needed to be checked or unchecked. I called Juice.

“What's mobbin'?...I got some money for you, my nigga and you don't even gotta kill nobody...A'ight, check game.” I explained to him exactly what I wanted done. He agreed, then we hung up. What a fuckin' life.

I sat there for another ten minutes, plotting my next moves and doing my best to think clearly. But no matter what I did, my heart kept yearning for my nigga Bleed. I finally gave in and opened the floodgates to my soul. The tears ran down my face rapidly blurring my vision while cleansing my spirit at the same time.

“Fuck! They killed my nigga, blood!” I punched the steering wheel in frustration.

I sat there actually crying like a baby while there was nobody around to see. Once all my tears had been released, I drove off with a clearer mind than what I had when I pulled up. I guess my mama was right about crying washing the soul out and all that shit.

I pulled off with a slight headache, but overall, my mind was clear. I knew what needed to be done. For the next hour, I drove through the city, masterminding my plan and really taking the city in. I even drove through a few parts that I wasn't welcome in, but the rental had me moving lowkey, so it was Gucci.

It did feel hella weird riding around in some shit that wasn't bulletproof. Those Ghost Mob faggots had really done major damage to the 'Rati to the point were I was gonna have to repair it or dump it. Now I'ma get a bulletproof wrath on these bitch ass niggaz, I vowed to myself.

I drove to the store where Trell got smoked at. My lil' nigga was actually dead lying on top of me. That one really fucked me up mentally. Then I rode by the spot that they caught Lil' Bobby coming out of. We rode hard for you. I peeled out with the image of him sprawled out on the stairs from them AK bullets. Them hoe niggaz had actually put it on Facebook.

Next, I made my way to 15th and Prescott where my hitta Boobie had been left slumped in his car by our own homie. All over a stankin' ass bitch. That one murder had single handedly changed Portland forever. I shook my head at the Madness and peeled out. All for nothin'!

I decided not to swing by the house Bleed had just got killed at. I was sure the boyz was still hanging out and I didn't need to get pulled over or questioned 'cause we were killing that bitch as soon as the coast was clear. When I made it to the Mob quarters, I parked across the street and took it all in.

First, they'd left Gotti in the trunk, then left Ruger dead inside. Since Ruger died, I'd hadn't been back inside. I closed my eyes and replayed all the murders from the Gutta squads, the 60's, the Murda Squads, all the way to the last attempt on my life.

Right when I was pulling outta the lot, I saw Tre and the mystery nigga again that had tried to chop me down. Who the fuck is that nigga? I asked myself for the hundredth time and still came up with nothing! But his face was so familiar that it was driving me crazy!

My phone rung, snapping me outta my deep thoughts.

  “What's mobbin'?” It was Twin.

“We outside yo’ house right now, but nigga have you seen the news?” He sounded way too excited for a man who had just lost a friend.

“Naw, I've been a busy handling thing.” My tone should of let him know I was uninterested.

“Blood, they got Beast and Premo all over that bitch and Facebook. Them dummies just shot it out earlier with the police in the North. They got caught up in the Pier Parks probably fuckin' with the Goonies. They say Beast dead and Premo in critical.”

I couldn't believe my ears. I was just plotting both of their demises and now they were dead or on the way to jail. It worked in my favor either way, but I did feel cheated. I wanted to personally take both of their souls for the dead homies.

“I'm on the way right now. I'll have Tamia let y'all in.” I hung up with a smirk on my face.

  ***

“How much powder you get caught w
ith? 'Cause I know I specifically said not to sell no dope. So don't tell me you was going behind my back, Blood,” I pressed Phatz.

We were in my basement going over everything that needed to be done, but I just had to get that off my mind.

“Never that, big bro. It was some baby shit. Just a lil' ounce I had on me to snort whenever I needed it,” he answered.

  “Was the gun clean?”

“Hell yeah, Blood. You know I'm not gon' ride around dirty like that.”

“A'ight, I just needed clarification on that.”

“The boyz been hot recently on my mama, nigga. You and Twin better make sure y'all get rid of the guns y'all killed Killah with,” he responded.

“Them been gone, nigga,” Twin jumped in.

“Coo', 'cause y'all did that nigga real dirty, Blood. Almost as bad as y'all did Jersey Joe and Falcon.”

I smirked at the thought of Joe with his dick in his mouth. Fuck that nigga. I wish I could kill that traitor again.

“Fuck, Joe. I wish we could go back in time. I'd put the dick in his ass since he wanted to be a faggot ass nigga,” I spat with anger. I was getting mad just thinking about it.

“I wish I coulda been there,” Phatz said.

“Yo, dawg. Fuck all that old shit. I'm still waiting for you to tell me what you was talkin' bout earlier.” Twin stared at me. The pain hit me in the chest from just the thought of it. I took a seat on the couch and mentally prepared myself for the triv. It was time to destroy all our enemies no matter the cost or who they were. Protect me from my friends.

  ***

It took three days for Juice to call me with the info that I desperately needed. I told him to stay there until we showed up. I couldn't afford for the prey to sneak outta there or outta town. That was at five o'clock, but we waited until the sun went down before we pulled up. I didn't want no fuck ups or for us to get too excited by waiting right outside our worst enemies’ hiding spot.
