Timeless Page 3

That abandonment forced Jade to live a solitary life, and he often had to find ways to keep himself from going crazy. One such way was where he was taking Marcus.

  “Here,” he said, smiling wide.

Marcus looked around. He could not believe the beautiful sight he was looking at. Standing in front of him was a small waterfall bubbling into the surrounding spring. The lush vegetation only helped accent how breathtaking it all was.

“This is amazing,” Marcus said, putting his head in to Jade’s chest.

Jade gave Marcus a little squeeze and then moved in front of him. He began to peel off Marcus’ clothes before removing his loin cloth.

“Come, no creatures in water,” he said while running toward the pool in front of the waterfall. Marcus followed and jumped right in. The coolness of the water was a relief from the heat. Marcus wanted to stay under forever, but other than being physically impossible, he also wanted to see where Jade was at. Marcus went up for air and saw Jade just a few feet away. They both swam up toward each other and met up for a passionate kiss in the water.

It took a second for Marcus to get adjusted to staying afloat while kissing, but he managed just nicely. It helped that Jade was able to assist him but taking him into this large frame. After a few more kisses, Jade nodded his head toward the waterfall and swam toward it. Marcus followed, though it was tough to keep up with Jade’s quick strokes.

Jade waited for Marcus to reach the rock formation and helped him up. He took him to the falling water and let it pour onto them a bit before going through. The alcove was nice and fresh, a great departure from the heat outside. Jade pointed to a rock on the ground and leaned up against. He patted the ground so Marcus could sit beside him.

Marcus carefully placed himself next to Jade and rested his head on Jade’s shoulder. Jade began stroking Marcus’ hair, letting the wet ends twirl into his fingers. He knew that he could easily fall asleep this way, but he didn’t bring Marcus here for them to sleep. Jade wanted to give him something special, a moment to remember before he took him to the cave. He hoped that his special place would show Marcus just how much he cared.

The two laid together for a moment, letting the breeze from the falls hit their naked bodies. Marcus stroked Jade’s chest, making sure to play a little with the small patch of hair in the middle. He had never felt so relaxed, so calm. The world around him may be chaotic, but not at this moment in time.

Marcus let his hand stray from Jade’s chest to his stomach, then even further down to the base of Jade’s shaft. Jade was semi-hard already, and once Marcus’ hand reached his cock, it began stiffening up more. Marcus playfully walked his fingers across Jade’s member, starting at the base and slowly worked his way up to the tip.

Jade leaned his head back against the rock and closed his eyes. He was starting to tingle all over and decided to enjoy every minute of their final time together.

Marcus began to stroke Jade’s cock, eliciting a small moan from him. Jade was eager to have Marcus’s mouth on him again, but instead of being forceful, he let Marcus take his time. Still with his eyes closed, Jade could feel Marcus’s warm lips caress his tip, sucking slowly as he maneuvered down the large shaft.

Once Marcus reached the base, Jade just couldn’t help it. He let out a large moan that sounded almost like a growl. Feeling his cock all the way down Marcus’s throat was something he never felt before, and he wanted Marcus to know he appreciated it. He moaned once more and received a hiss in return.

The sound was strange to Jade, since he didn’t remember Marcus making such noises earlier. He opened his eyes slowly and say a large lizard peeking its head out of the shadows of the alcove. Jade looked down at Marcus, but his eyes were closed, too.

“That’s a new noise,” Marcus cooed.

  “Not me,” Jade replied softly.

Marcus stopped and opened his eye. He saw the look of fear on Jade’s face and new right away they were in trouble.

“It can’t see us unless we move, right?” Marcus whispered.

Jade shook his head. “This can. Must go slowly.”

Jade carefully stood up and lifted Marcus behind him. He started motioning back toward the entrance, making sure to keep his eyes on the creature. The creature returned the favor by slipping out of the shadows while making a foul hissing noise. This creature was not like anything Marcus had ever seen in a textbook. Its long snout revealed large teeth that could rival the Jaws of Life, while its four legs also had claws that could do all sorts of damage. If Marcus had to describe it, he would say that it was like a cross between an alligator and a raptor. It was moving slowly on its four legs; which Marcus took as a good sign.

They passed the waterfall and reached the end toward the stream. Jade leaned in to whisper in Marcus’ ear. “Swim fast. It swim faster.”

Marcus took a big gulp and dove in as quickly as he could. He stroked faster and faster, trying his best to keep up with Jade. Panic was starting to set in, but he didn’t want to come up for air until they were safely on the other side. Halfway through, Marcus felt a big rush of water, as if cause by something large had fallen in. The water was clear enough to see that the creature was making its way to them at an unthinkable speed.

Jade motioned for Marcus to continue. It was difficult, but his fear was a great motivator. They finally reached the other side and climbed out. Jade ran to a pile of bushes and picked up a large spear, one he kept around just in case something snuck up on his usually safe place. He waited close the edge, his stance signaling he was ready to attack. The creature quickly lifted its head and raised its first two claws onto the ground. Jade did not waste any time. He took the spear and repeatedly went for the most vulnerable areas he could find.

As he slashed through the large yellow eyes, the creature thrashed as much as he could before retreating into the water. Jade walked toward Marcus and fell to the ground. Marcus knelt beside him, checking to make sure he was ok. Everything on top looked fine, however the creature managed to slash Jade’s leg with the kind of mark that required stitches.

Marcus looked around for their clothes and found his shirt. He ripped it up and wrapped it around Jade’s leg. Jade moaned a bit in pain.

Marcus continued looking around for any signs of plants he may be able to use as medicine. Though his main focus was chemistry, he had read a bit on what some scientists believed prehistoric people used as medicine. Yet, nothing around him looked helpful.

In a panic, Marcus looked around once again. His eyes kept going back to a gathering of purple flowers. He had seen those before when he had first arrived. That’s right, he thought. We are by the cave. It must be close by.

“Jade, I can help you. But I need to know if you can get up.”

  “Yes. Can go slow.”

Marcus helped lift Jade up and started walking to where he thought the cave might be. The deeper they got, the more he remembered what direction to go in. It took a while, but they finally managed to reach the mouth of the cave. Even though he was weak and tired, Jade knew exactly where they were.

  “No, I, I…”

“Look, I know you made a promise, but you are hurt bad, and you need help. I know people on the other side that can save you. I will also bring you back when you are ready. But please, let me help you this time.”

Jade nodded weakly and they both walked through the cave together. There was a flash of light and suddenly they were transported back to Marcus’ time. The cave was dark, but Marcus could see a light in the distance. He figured that had to be the opening of the cave and took Jade toward it. There seemed to be quite a commotion at the front of the cave. Police, EMTs, and a large group of people were walking around, scouring the land as if they were looking for something important.

“Marcus,” someone shouted in the distance. It was Daniel. He ran over to Marcus and took Jade from his other side.

“We have been looking everywhere for you. What on earth happened?”

  “I’ll explain everythin
g later. But right now we need to get him help.”

Daniel yelled over for the EMT’s. They took Jade from Marcus and began working on him. Marcus rode with Jade to the hospital. After all, someone needed to field the questions that were bound to come up. Daniel agreed to meet him there. He also expected to hear about where Marcus was, and more importantly, why he suddenly showed up naked and with this strange looking man.

  * * * *

Marcus knew there would be risks to bringing Jade into this world, but he didn’t think about the consequences at the time. His only focus was to get Jade some help. Without meds, it was possible that the cuts could get infected and become fatal. The thought of losing Jade so soon was just too much. Now, with all the doctors and law enforcement, not to mention Daniel, asking questions he realized there was more at stake. He had to be careful not to reveal too much, if only to protect Jade from becoming a government secret test subject.

Marcus told Jade to let him do all the talking. Jade was fine with it. He was too tired and weak to do otherwise. On the ride to the hospital, Marcus had gone through different scenarios of what could have happened. Out of the fifty that he played around with in his mind the only logical leapt at him: they met up for a tryst in the cave and were attacked by something. That seemed to appease most of the officers now, but not Daniel. Daniel walked into Jade’s room with a look that screamed he wanted answers.

“If you wanted sex before you left, you should have called.”

“Well, I did say I wanted new experiences.”

Daniel rolled his eye. “I don’t quite believe you. Even at your most adventurous, you still required some of the comforts of home. So, you want to tell me where you were and why you are here with a guy that looks like a caveman from a romance cover, without your clothes on?”

Marcus looked around. Jade was still asleep, probably due to not being used to modern medicine. No one else was in the room. He got up and closed the door then sat down beside Jade.

  “You wouldn’t believe me.”

  “Try me.”

Marcus took a deep breath, then let the story out. How he almost hit someone and saw them run toward the cave. How he looked for them in the cave and wandered through. The reptile eye. Jade saving him. Jade’s backstory about his mother. The creature at the waterfall. All of it.

Marcus expected Daniel to roll his eyes again, but he didn’t. In fact, his eyes were distant. Daniel walked over to Jade and pushed his hair away from his face. Marcus stood up beside him. He had never noticed how alike they looked beyond their eyes.

Daniel reached into his pockets and pulled out his phone. He opened his photos and showed out one of an old newspaper clipping.

“I clipped out the original when she went missing. I took the picture so I would never forget.” He showed the picture to Marcus. It was an article about a missing woman. “Was that your mother?”

Daniel nodded. He never talked about his family, so this was all new to Marcus. Jade grunted from his bed. Daniel showed the picture to Jade.

  “Mother.”
