“Don’t say that. You’re beautiful and smart. You’re creative, kind, and loving, and so dedicated to Bailey. In my mind, you’re the most special thing that walks the earth.”

I was crying and he was wiping my tears again. “So what do you say? Do you think you and Bailey could be content with a broken down ex-NASCAR driver.”

“I’m pretty sure we can handle that.”

He raised his brows. “I’m not talking a temporary thing here, Jamie. This is a forever thing.”

“I’m pretty sure we’re ready for a forever thing too.”

“You mean it?” he said with jubilance.

I nodded in agreement. I was so ready for this.

He pulled me into his arms and held me like he’d never let me go. Our hearts pounded in sync with one another as though bouncing off of each other. And when his lips found their way to mine, I surrendered without an ounce of reservation.

  “I love you,” he whispered.

“And I love you.” The words were no sooner out of my mouth than I turned and saw our sisters standing in the doorway watching us, broad smiles on their faces.

“I think we have a winner all the way around, Court,” Renee said. “What do you think?”

  “Yep, I agree.”

“By the way, Roger is beyond the critical stage and they’ll be moving him to a regular room sometime this morning.”

  “Phew, thank God.”

Chase stood and helped me up. “As you’ve seen, we also have some news to share.”

“And the sounds of those lyrics couldn’t be sweeter,” Renee and Courtney said in unison.
