  Processing was mostly empty. Well, it was at first, before he was led through the hallways, and soon joined the numerous other men. They arrived on other transfer buses. He felt alone, isolated even with the crowded space around him. These men weren’t like him, they had been treated this way their entire lives. They had earned this path, this sort of treatment. But Matthew had lived in elegance, and except for his childhood, he had the perfect life. That was before all of this-

  The chaos did not suit him well. His muscles rippled as he was stripped of his shirts and pants, the moment he had stepped into the room. He wore only his boxers which was soon taken from him as well, and was finally given the standard prisoner uniform; shirt, pants, boxers, undershirt, and a pair of shoes. The material was itchy and entirely inferior to the silk he was used to. The strong and commanding voice that rung throughout the room didn’t help his case. “Hold your clothes, and set them to the ground. You are all subject to search, whether you like it or not. So don’t get on our bad side, or face the consequences. Up against the wall!”

  Matthew did as he was told setting his clothes to his feet, and leaned up against the wall with the other men. Carefully, officers soon came inside and began to thoroughly inspect every man within the room. Matthew had only seen such inspections on TV, but this was real. It was beyond uncomfortable, it was terrifying, it was dehumanizing, it was torture.

  Matthew felt the shards of his humanity slip away from him, carefully sliding out of his grasp. With the officers prodding fingers, and devilish grin, it sent chills throughout his body. And it wasn’t just due to the cold and dry feel of the air. He never wanted anyone to touch him like this, no one but Amanda. But he knew he had to comply, otherwise his rage would get the best of him again, and look where that got him. He shivered in the grip of the officer’s touch.

  Soon the humiliating moment passed, and he was forced into his new outfit. He did so and was shown around the facility, stoic and emotionless faces staring back at him. This was home now, and he only hoped that Nathan, Jayd or Amanda would come to his rescue. But he knew better, it was futile to have hope, as the voices and the commands, pounded into his skull- there was no escape.

  Months passed, and Matthew barely received any phone calls. Unlike the other guys, he was a loner, and didn’t care much for others. He could only guess about what occurred on the outside, a fish trapped within the bowl. The fishbowl of prison life.

  CHAPTER 7:

  ARATIONAL

  In the time Matthew had been gone, Amanda had been depressed, but managed to free herself at last. The first few days and weeks were a struggle, having no one to guide and protect her, but she needed to manage Matthew’s savings and property. She certainly couldn’t talk to Jayd, which left only one other option, Nathan. Matthew had never taken the time to introduce her to the one good brother he had, but that wasn’t gonna stop her from reaching out to him for assistance. It all seemed like a dream to her, Matthew could spend years of his life in prison, all thanks to Jayd.

  She needed a break, and one day she finally mustered enough courage to give Nathan a call. His voice was mellow and sweet when he picked up. He sounded like Matthew but held his air of uniqueness. Nathan had always been the athletic son in the family, and it was evident in his toned and muscular figure, the day he sat in her living room or what used to be Matthew’s. He had been into sports since he was young, and his trophies lined the walls of the mansion. Amanda never seemed to notice them, not until now. They discussed, and he rambled on about his past endeavors to break the awkward silence.

  Amanda sat next to him cautiously, he seemed too much like a mirage of Matthew. “He didn’t deserve it.” She edged the conversation away from the sports talk. “He never did anything wrong, he just tried to save Jayd’s life. He wasn’t violent, or angry.” Tears started to well up in her eyes and even looked at her and in concern.

  “Hey,” Nathan's voice wavered, as he reached out a calm and gentle hand. “It’s okay.” He wasn’t the best at comforting and especially not on topics like this. And more still, he never got close to Matthew or Jayd. “I am sure they will let him out early due to behavior or something. We are a rich family after all-“

  Amanda’s tears only continued to fall, as she moved slowly away from Nathan. She wasn’t ready to hear anything remotely close to Matthew just yet and Nathan had just crossed the line. “He’s not Jayd! And it doesn’t matter what I say- he won’t let me stand up for him…” She huffed now, rubbing her eyes and absentmindedly running her hands through her hair.

  Nathan watched the sorry display and held up a hand in protest. “He didn’t let you fight for him? But he fights for you. Alrighty then.” Nathan seemed a bit shocked before remembering the sexual acts that his brother preferred. “If he didn’t let you fight for him, I will.” Nathan had a soft spot in his heart for girls like Amanda and he did love his brother, even if they never spoke much. “Let’s see…” However, Nathan wasn’t sure where to start. “He got one of the best lawyers, and we still have no idea what went on during questioning- maybe if I visit him I can ask him about it? And give some information to his lawyer- and with your help, saying that Jayd really is violent, we might be able to do this. Especially with no Matthew out here to stop you from testifying.”

  Amanda looked up at Nathan and wiped the tears from her eyes. Her heart pounded in her chest with determination and happiness, for the first time in weeks. She felt as if there was truly hope, there was hope to free her love. She wanted nothing more in the world than Matthew back. “You really think that we can do that? I think that…” She looked up at Nathan again, his plan did seem pretty solid. And it was the last chance they had, plus she didn’t think she could wait years to see Matthew again. With a large amount of money at their disposal, why not try and save him? As Nathan said, there was nothing holding her back this time around.

  Nathan smiled and moved closer to her, “Well?” He pulled out his phone to begin researching on the possible routes they could take with Matthew’s lawyer, with any new evidence that Amanda would be able to provide. Flipping through the various articles and cases on his database, he found out that the evidence could be presented in court again if Matthew’s lawyer was able to summon another hearing. In that case Amanda could speak on Matthew’s behalf. With her new evidence from that day combined with whatever evidence Matthew could share, and as well as his own testimony, they could do this. If not they would try again. There were countless possibilities with the amount of money in the family’s savings. But there was one thing that neither knew could get in their way, it was their source of income, Jayd. As he scrolls through his phone, he brainstorms ideas on how to deal with Jayd.

  “We can do it- right?” Amanda waited for a response from Nathan. He nodded slowly and continued with his phone. Maybe if he exposed Jayd’s violent history, he would gain footing. The first stop he thought, would be to visit Matthew. This would help with any evidence he had gained during questioning, and then he could bring this evidence with Amanda‘s testimony to Matthew’s lawyer. And after Amanda’s sorry and pitiful display, Nathan decided he would start today.

  They arrived at the prison complex, and went through registration, Amanda was nervous. She hadn’t seen Matthew in so long, and she didn’t think she would be seeing him again anytime soon. But at least she had Nathan. Through the car ride, they talked more, sharing what they could about their bond with Matthew. For Amanda this was quite a lot, however, Nathan quickly began to sculpt a plan from the little details she shared.

  Finally, they sat across from the Dom with a large sheet of glass in between them. Amanda began to cry, and Nathan held her close, comforting her. Matthew looked ragged, with a fully grown beard. For the first few moments, the air was silent, it wasn’t the glorious love reunion that they had both pictured. Nathan’s pulse quickens as he senses the awkwardness, and feels like a third wheel and less like a brother to Matthew.

  “Matthew, do you mind sharing what happened
during your questioning? It would help greatly in the evidence we are trying to compile, Amanda is going to speak and I will as well. We weren’t at your first hearing. And we could’ve made a difference then. I am sorry for not being that much of a brother in the past. With Amanda here, I can see that clearly.”

  Matthew shudders at the thought of his questioning, running his hands through his greased and dirt stricken hair. “Yeah, it was my fault. I let my rage get the best to me, and- well I deserve to be in here. No doubts about that.” Matthew held his face in his hands, barely wanting to look up at all. “Sure, the investigator might’ve played a few tricks. And twisted a few of my words- and overall just wanted to arrest me… but I deserve it.”

  Nathan stays silent for a moment before placing a hand on the glass. “Matthew, you don’t deserve it. It’s not your fault you fell for their tricks, we will get out of this together. If you tell me what the investigator said to you, we can start working things out with your lawyer again. We will get you out of here, I promise.”

  Matthew looked his dear brother in the eyes, slight tears forming in the corner of his eyes. “Thank you,” He tried to raise his hands to meet Nathan’s but was held back by the shackles. A soft groan escapes him, as he rests his hands again. In a low voice, Matthew begins to speak. He describes the interrogation, the puzzling questions, and the tricks of Jackson Blank. Matthew has no idea if that was the investigator’s real name or not, but he decides that his tricks must’ve been standard. And that it was his fault for not remaining silent.

  Amanda hinged on every word Matthew spoke, the scene replaying in her mind vividly. Matthews pain and stress and anxiety, was soon joined by hers. And they became one again, not through shared happiness and bliss, but through the tragedy and darkness. As Matthew spoke, she began to gather more of what she could say in testimony. Her words struggled to form with his, and Nathan continued to study his brother’s expressions as he narrated his tale. It was clear who was at fault, and it wasn’t Matthew.

  CHAPTER 8:

  AUDIT

  Before Nathan or Amanda could take action against the law, and try to free Matthew from prison, they had to speak to Matthew’s lawyer first, a difficult task. The lawyer had refused to speak to them since losing their case. His reputation had been tainted.

  They did, however, finally manage to meet Matthew’s lawyer, Cole Fraser, the most popular attorney in the city’s 100 miles radius. He sat, an enormous man, leaning back in a leather chair that looked like it would collapse under his weight. His head did not fit his body, and looked like a small knob on the beast of his frame. “How can I help you?” He asked Nathan, his voice was a magnificent baritone that tickled the air.

  Nathan quickly explained their situation, after which Cole stood and shook his head, rubbing at his temples. “And what new evidence do you have? It better be good enough to stand up to Matthew's confession. Otherwise don’t waste my time.”

  “I can provide testimony with Jayd’s previous violent behaviors. And Amanda can as well, we also have some new evidence regarding Matthew’s interrogation.” Nathan stared at Cole, he waited for a response with an arched eyebrow, impatiently tapping his foot.

  Cole was shocked, and then managed to wipe the expression off his face. Leaving a clean slate behind was prospect too good to resist. He shifted uncomfortably before standing. “That- I can work with that.” He shifted through the papers on his desk before sitting down again and beginning to type rapidly on his laptop. He was already working and paving his way to a court date, the room was full of hope, pride, and resilience.

  * * * * *

  Nathan knew the court date was coming up, but also knew that he needed to prove Jayd’s behavioral outbursts too. He had gotten a lucky break, Jayd’s wedding was also coming up, and Nathan had been invited. Nathan had a plan, Jayd will snap very easily if pushed the right way. Nathan planned to get him where it hurt, in the world of the submissive and dominant. The day of the wedding, the decorations were grand, and the ceremony was about to begin.

  Nathan found his seat among the hundreds of others, there was a large turn out with Jayd’s new status as the head of the O’Donoghue family. With the horde of people attending, this was perfect for Nathan‘s plan. He took a seat somewhere in the middle section on the right. And waited, waited for exactly the right moment, as he had seen in so many movies.

  When the words were uttered, “Any objections?” Nathan kept his hands around his mouth and shouted, “COLLAR HER!” He knew how to project his voice from his years of coaching and being a ref. No one was able to tell where the noise had come from, but it echoed throughout. Jayd’s eye began to twitch, and within a few seconds he was violently screaming and asking and swearing, for who made the comment. He was lashing out death threats and destroying everything in his path, toppling the cake and heading towards the large display of food. Nathan quickly fled the scene, he had done his job. And managed to blend in perfectly with the other fleeing guests.

  * * * * *

  The next day Nathan and Amanda stood in the same court where Matthew had his life changed. Except now Nathan was armed with one of Jayd’s outbursts. Amanda knew of the tricks used in Matthew’s confession, and they both gave their testimony. The air was tense as they walked their way up towards the stand, both preparing to speak. Taking turns and sharing perspectives of a new strategy they were planning to use to slam the jury with Matthew’s innocence.

  Amanda now stood next to Matthew in the witness stand, her hands were shaky and her tentative nature began to show. She took a few deep breaths as she struggled to use the right words, “Matthew is my boyfriend-’’ not the strongest start… “ I have known him my whole life, and ever since I was a kid, I knew he wouldn’t hurt anyone. He turned 18 and moved out of our foster home, he promised he would come back for me, and he didn’t-’’ not right away at least. He lost his memory in a car crash, but accidents like that happens sometimes. They happen to all of us. And we can’t prevent them, with Matthew and Jayd- they are brothers and they will never hurt each other. No matter if they get mad at each other, Matthew isn’t the type to hurt. So there’s no way he would’ve forced his own brother into a coma. I have never seen him be cruel to me or anyone but-’’

  Nathan now takes charge, it seems Amanda‘s heart had won over the jury. “But, Jayd has portrayed several angering behaviors through the years, and just yesterday we were shown more. Please play the recording.” The TV flicked on the courtroom flipped on and the footage of Jayd’s wedding began to play. Jayd had made the mistake of having it recorded and broadcasted. “If you haven’t seen this display on the news already, you can see it for yourself now. Matthew has never displayed any behavior like this.

  A shout interrupted Nathan‘s monologue, “But he confessed!” The judge quickly reacted, “Order!” The gavel met the wooden platform. And the judge made the motion to have Nathen continue his presentation.

  “The reason Matthew made those confessions were this-’’ The footage of the questioning flicked to life on the television now. Nathan and Cole had pulled a few strings to get it and were able to bribe off an officer on the inside. “Any questions, comments or concerns?” Nathen’s charamaic smile paraded around the room. And like that, the scale of justice had been tipped.

  * * * * *

  Matthew was freed under the title of false imprisonment, Jayd soon took his place. With Nathan and Amanda‘s testimony, and with new officers and hospital employees coming forward to share their perspectives - Jayd officially earned himself a life behind bars. Even Jayd’s wife had spoken up against him, and Emily had come forward about her kidnapping. Matthew and Amanda were safe, but there was just one thing left to do. As a thank you to Nathan, Matthew gave him half of the estates, as well as a fair sum of the money Demarco left behind.

  The family’s reputation was restored, Matthew’s freedom from prison had stricken fear into the hearts of the O’Donoghue‘s enemies. Nathan used a fair share of the money to build
up his sports empire, and Amanda and Matthew were free to live their lives once again. And with Jyad finally out of the picture, their lives were once again open to bliss, happiness, and the best sex.

  Matthew decided to collar Amanda officially, on one of the private islands and had a few close friends attend. Nathan for one, Emily, and some of his father's old friends. The ceremony was beautiful and Amanda dazzled everyone in her dress.

  Deciding to collar Amanda, was all worth it. He had just escaped the physical vessel for solitude and depression. He had finally claimed what was rightfully his, Amanda. The wait was over as she was his Sub and he would forever be her Dom.
