Forever and Almost Always

I unlatched my legs from around Dax’s waist, and took his hand as I steered him through the house and back to my room. “Of course she is. She wouldn’t have said yes, if she didn’t mean it. Trust me on that one.” I had asked my mom about a week ago if it was okay that Dax stayed with us while he looked for a new place. She wasn’t stoked on the idea, of course, but I used my charming daughter persuasion and eventually she caved. It wasn’t going to be for long, and I think that part helped influence her decision the most.

“I’m going to love waking up with you in my arms every morning,” Dax pulled me down so I was laying flat on the bed beneath him, “and going to bed with you every night.” His lips pressed against mine, and I knew immediately that this was definitely the right decision.

The next two days came and went, and Dax was officially moved in with me by the end of the day Friday. My brother’s party was the next morning, and I was elated to have my wonderful boyfriend by my side, to make the day that much easier. My brother and I got along just fine, but introducing him to the boyfriend, was always a challenge. He wasn’t easy to please and I knew this time, wouldn’t be any different. I guess all I could do at this point was to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

I was busy being stuck in my head, when I felt the very distinct sign that my boyfriend was now awake. With his glorious hard on pushed hard against me, I could feel myself becoming wet and more than ready to accommodate his needs. He pulled me hard against his chest and I wiggled my butt against what I wanted inside of me. He let out a throaty moan and I smiled, knowing that I could make him feel so damn good anytime.

His wet lips left heated trails down my neck, shoulders and back as the pressure began building to exponential amounts. I pushed my backside into him, letting him know I was willing and ready. He didn’t respond as quickly as usual, so I decided to help guide him into my wet heat, but he caught my hand just before I could touch him.

“Morning sunshine. I don’t need your help.” He teased.

“Please fuck me, Dax.” I whispered back to him.

  “Hmmmm, maybe.”

“Dax, please. I need to feel you inside of me. You’re killing me.”

Instead of answering me or continuing our flirtatious banter, he took what I said serious and slammed himself inside of me. His hand flew up to my mouth, covering it before I had the chance to scream out in immense pleasure. In the mornings he knew I liked it rough, and we took every precaution to make sure no one ever heard. With every thrust, I bit down harder on the palm of his hand that was still covering my mouth. Every time his body slammed into mine, my body ached for more. Our morning romp sessions usually ended up being quickies, but the five minutes in the mornings were almost better than the thirty or forty minutes later in the day. Our desire and need for one another was almost unbearable at times, but it was a feeling I never wanted to lose.

A few minutes later, we were getting dressed and ready for the day. I was tying my bikini top when Dax cleared his throat to grab my attention.

  “What’s up?”

“Um, I might not make it to the party today.”

My hands dropped to my hips and anger flared through my veins. “I’m sorry, what?”

“Don’t get mad, but I told Tripp I would hang out with him today, and you know I don’t do well with the whole family thing.”

I stood back with anger written all over my face. “You promised me this, Dax. You promised you would be here for the party. Do you even know how this makes me look?”

He stood and made his way over to me. “I’m really sorry, but you know I don’t do things like this.”

I pushed him back by his shoulders. “Things like what? Hang out with my family? Get to know my family? My family who has been letting you live under their roof with their daughter? You don’t hang out with people? I’m confused as to what “things” you are talking about.”

“Look, I don’t want to fight with you. I’ll be back later.”

He kissed the top of my head and walked out of my room. I was completely at a loss for words. I was beyond understanding what was running through his mind, as he made the decision to make me look like a complete ass to my family and my brother’s friends. I watched him walk away from me and out the front door, until the door closed quietly behind him.

This was bullshit. He had known about this damn party for weeks. Weeks ago, he could’ve told me how uncomfortable he was with the whole situation. We could have figured something out. I knew nothing good would come from him and Tripp hanging out. This is what Tripp did. He was a loser who cheated on his now ex-wife, my best friend, he doesn’t take care of his kid and he sure as hell doesn’t give a fuck if he hurts anybody in the process.

I threw my hairbrush across the room and finished getting ready. Taylor and her little girl were coming over today and we had a lot to set up for, so I figured I better get my ass in gear.

“Anybody home?” Taylor’s voice echoed throughout the living room of my house.

“In the kitchen, Tay.” I turned off the water and ran to meet Taylor and Katie at the door. “Oh my gosh, look how big my little goddaughter is getting.”

“Right? She’s growing like a weed. It’s insane.”

I bent down to Katie’s eye level, “Who’s ready to go swimming today?”

“Me, me.” Katie responded in her tiny little voice.

“Alright, let’s get some of this stuff out back. Taylor, can you grab all the party supplies off of the kitchen counter and bring them with you?”

  “Sure.”

When Taylor finally made it out back, I was busy setting up the tables and getting the food ready for the barbecue, so once my mom got home we would be ready to cook.

  “Hey Char, where’s Dax?”

I glanced up from the table with a murderous glare. “He’s spending the day with Tripp.”

  “Are you fucking kidding me?”

“Nope. He told me this morning. He says he doesn’t do the family thing very well. I seriously don’t even want to talk about it.”

“Okay. Sorry hun, what an asshole. Or should I say assholes.” She laughed.

Just then the doorbell rang and I put on a happy face, as I went to let in my brother and all of his friends. Everyone and their mom had showed up for this little shindig. Tons of the guys my brother works with, their spouses and kids, and of course my sister-in-law and my brother’s kids.

Day turned into night and it was a blast hanging out with everyone. Most of everyone who had kids ended up leaving, and now it was just us crazy weirdo’s hanging out, playing some drinking games. I glanced at my phone one last time to check the clock and realized that it was almost six, and I still hadn’t heard from Dax. At this point, I wasn’t even sure if he was coming home.

A little while later, my phone started ringing. I answered it quicker than I would have liked, but I was starting to get worried that something may have happened.

  “Hello?”

“Hey babe. Can you come grab me?”

I politely excused myself from the table and went inside, where no one was likely to hear me. “Are you fucking kidding me right now? I haven’t heard from you all damn day, and now you want me to come pick you up?”

“Babe, I’m sorry. Tripp had to work this afternoon, so I just came and hung out with him at his dad’s store. Can you please come get me?”

“Whatever, I’ll be there in fifteen minutes. Be ready to go when I get there.”

I hung up and stomped out back. I grabbed Taylor by the shirt, pulling her through the house with me. “Hey, I have to go pick up Dax. Do you want to take Katie home, and then come back and hang with everyone for a bit?”

“Yeah, my mom said she would babysit once she got home. She should be home by now. I’ll head back over as soon as I drop Katie off.”

Taylor squeezed me tight before she gathered her daughter and headed out. I told everyone I would be back shortly with my boyfriend, which
caused me to get a few glares from my brother and his over protective friends, but I just smiled and waved as I left.

  Chapter Twenty-Three

  Dax

I lay there watching Charlee as she slept so peacefully in my arms. It wasn’t easy getting her in this position after her brother’s party, but somehow she had found it in herself to forgive me. I knew what I was doing was a dick thing to do, but honestly her family intimidated me. Her mom was nice enough, and I thoroughly appreciated her letting me stay in her house, but her brother basically scared the shit out of me. Charlee had told me stories about her brother and her past boyfriends, and I guess I just didn’t want to make a bad impression. Unfortunately, I did that and more with my little stunt I pulled.

I glanced at the time on my phone as Charlee began to stir in my arms. I couldn’t wait any longer for her to wake up, because I had something important to talk to her about. Unfortunately, I wasn’t sure how it was going to go, because she drank a bit more than usual last night, which usually made her ornery the next day.

“How long have you been awake?” Her voice was laced with sleep and she sounded sexy as hell.

  “Not too long.”

“I can’t believe you’re awake so early. What time is it anyway?”

“It’s just a little after ten, and I didn’t drink half as much as you did.” I laughed. “Hey, I have some things I need to talk to you about.”

“That doesn’t sound good.” She pushed herself up and into a sitting position against the wall next to me. “Shoot.”

“I’ve been thinking. I can’t keep living at your mom’s house. I know she really doesn’t want me here, but most of all, I think if we are going to work, I need to move out.” Her mouth dropped open a bit in shock, but I continued. “What do you think about Florida?”

“For a vacation?” She asked in a confused tone.

“No, to live. My mom lives there. We could go there, together. She owns land and has an extra double wide we can stay in until we can afford a house.” I watched Charlee intently as I told her about my plans. I wasn’t sure how she would react, and I didn’t want to scare her off.

“I don’t know, Dax. I don’t know if I want to move to another state. Why can’t we find something here?”

“I just feel like I need a change, Charlee. I need to get my shit together and make something of my life.”

“I understand that, and I’m all for it, but why don’t we find an apartment here?”

“I guess that might work. So you’re saying you’ll live with me?”

“Isn’t that what we’re doing anyways? What’s the difference if it’s here or somewhere else?”

My body relaxed and my heart rate slowed, as she agreed to live with me. I was secretly freaking out just a little bit, given the fact that I had never lived with any of my other girlfriends. But, we had already been living together for a bit already, what would be so different about being in a place alone? And I had to admit, the idea of being able to sexually molest my girlfriend whenever I wanted, made the prospect of us moving in together that much more appealing.

I kissed her against her temple and pulled her into my arms. “I love you, Charlee. I’m so sorry about yesterday. I know I fucked up.”

“A little bit, but it’s okay. I forgive you.”

  “Really, just like that?”

“Yeah, Dax. Really. Just.like.that.” And just like that, she got up and walked away from me.

  ~ ~ ~ ~

A few weeks later, Charlee and I were moving into our own apartment in Mesa. It wasn’t the best neighborhood, but it was something we could afford on our own and she didn’t have to rush out and get a job. Her mom didn’t take the news so well, but I didn’t think she would in the first place. Her brother just left the other day and well, let’s just say he didn't give two shits, either way. I knew it hurt Charlee’s feelings to know that her family didn’t give a shit about what she did in life, but I was here to try and make her feel better. If it was the last thing I did, I was going to make my girl happy and proud to be with me.

I was bringing in the last couple of boxes, when I noticed Charlee unpacking a box in the tiny open space we called a kitchen. She was bent over grabbing something out of the box and all I could see were long lean legs that I knew at that very moment, I needed wrapped around me. I dropped the boxes by the door, and kicked it shut. I pulled my shirt over my head, and my fingers fell down to the button and zipper on my jeans, and I made quick work of pulling them down. I walked up right behind her tight ass, and pulled her hard against me.

With every touch of her hands on my bare skin, with every kiss I planted across her shoulders, it was almost as if my heart began beating for her. I pushed my hand down the front of her shorts and my fingers began circling her soft swollen nub. My other hand reached in front of her, gently pulling her hair back to one side, as I kissed my way down her neck and onto her back.

A small moan escaped her lips, and my dick twitched in anticipation of hearing her moan again. I gently turned her around, pulling my hand from her shorts and then dropping them to the floor at her feet. I reached under her ass, spread her legs and pulled her up onto the counter. Her legs wrapped tightly around my waist, as my hands and lips took advantage of her now exposed breasts. Her skin was butter soft and milky smooth. She pushed her hands back through my hair, and my breath hitched in my throat.

In the back of my mind, I knew what I was offering her wasn’t what she deserved, but the idea of waking up every morning without her, literally broke me in two. Our lips crashed together, as I positioned my cock at her entrance. I was trying to give her a second to be ready. I didn’t want to be too rough. Today, I wanted to make love to my girl, as though we wouldn’t have a tomorrow to wake up to.

I slipped inside of her slow and easy, and as I did, my name escaped her lips and melted me where I stood. Her nails dug into my shoulder blades hard and fast, ripping through the skin that was stretched tighter than I thought possible. I bit down on her neck as I moved in and out of her in a slow motion. I could feel her legs tightening around my waist. Her heels digging into my backside, urging me to go faster. As much as I wanted to take my time with her, I knew what my girl wanted, and I couldn’t find it in myself to deny her of that.

I swept her off of the counter and walked the ten feet to our bed. When I laid her back, I looked her right in her eyes, brushed the stray strands of hair from her face, and then kissed her so deeply, so passionately that I made her toes curl. I could feel her walls clenching me, and I found myself falling into ecstasy right along with her.

“I’m so sorry I’ve failed you.” I whispered into her neck as my head dropped in exhaustion.

Her hands reached for my face, pulling it up to look at her. “Dax, you could never fail me. The way you love me, makes this the place for me. We could be in a cardboard box, and I would still love you and you still wouldn’t have failed me.”

I held back the balloon of emotions threatening to burst inside of me. I just lightly pressed my lips against hers, and rolled onto my side behind her, pulling her deeply into my chest. “I love you, Charlee.”

“I love you too, Dax. Forever and always, well almost always.” She laughed and I knew in that moment, I had found my other half.

  Chapter Twenty-Four

  Charlee

I made it a point to find a job as soon as I could. It wasn’t hard. I ended up finding a manager position at a tanning salon close to the apartment, and I couldn’t wait to get home to tell Dax all about it. Unfortunately, when I walked up the stairs to our apartment, I found much more than I had bargained for.

I could clearly hear Dax’s voice as I reached the top of the landing, and instead of walking towards his voice; I stood around the corner and listened as much as I could.

“Look Rachael, I don’t know why you came here, but you need to leave before she gets home.”

“Why, so you can keep on playing house with her and pretending that you don’t
think about me, while you fuck her at night?”

“How dare you. You have no clue about my relationship with her. You need to leave and let whatever you think we had, go. I told you a long time ago that I was done. Now please leave.”

I wasn’t sure if the conversation was over between the two of them yet, but I decided to take my chances. I turned the corner and walked straight for the brunette bitch that was standing there, trying to stake claims on my boyfriend. I could see the look of complete and utter shock, as Dax turned and looked in my direction. I knew he didn’t know what to expect from me, or what I would say given the circumstances and what he was dealing with. It was comforting to know that I could still surprise him without trying.

“You need to leave our home. Dax has made it pretty clear and now I’m making it clear. If you don’t leave right this second, I’ll make sure that you don’t make it anywhere for a very long while.”

The brunette bitch had the audacity to look at me as though I was crazy. Who the fuck did she think she was? She came to my house to convince my boyfriend that they had something, but I wasn’t one to back down. Not when it came to someone I love.

“Did you not hear me? Do I need to repeat myself?” I was now standing between her and Dax, waiting for some sort of answer from her, but all I got was a nasty look and then she walked away. I closed my eyes as she disappeared, took in a cleansing breath, and then turned to confront my boyfriend.

“Before you say anything, please let me explain.” He pleaded.

“Honestly Dax, I’m not sure I want to hear your explanation right now. Let’s just go inside before anybody else comes out to see the crazy girl yelling at some random chick.” I patted him on the chest, and then made my way into our apartment and straight to the bathroom. I didn’t need a shower, but at the moment it was exactly what I wanted. I locked the door and slipped into the hot steam filled shower. I let the water rush over every inch of my body, as I let the tears threatening to fall, slip down my cheeks. I wasn’t exactly sure why I was crying, but the release felt so damn good.
