CNN ran late breaking news. The telecaster read, “This just in, presidential candidate Senator Eleanor Gillis has announced her running mate. George O’Keefe, Democrat out of Arkansas, will run for vice president on the ticket with Gillis. The billionaire media tycoon Emmerie Kugal was one of the first donors to support the ticket. In a release, Ms. Kugal had this to say. ‘I support free market solutions that allow individuals to pursue their own liberty and wealth. But I also agree with Candidate Gillis on the indelible role our media has to play on our body politic. I support her efforts to return the Fairness Doctrine to cable television.’
The telecaster read the second piece, “In unrelated news, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Executive Director just reported a $100 million dollar gift. It was, ‘the largest single contribution we have ever received and is roughly one-third the size of our current endowment. This anonymous gift will enable us to expand and deepen our work to fight hate, teach tolerance, and seek justice. Our deep, deep gratitude goes out to the benevolent benefactor.’”
