The four of them bow their heads as Father John leads the prayer. Her brother says a prayer of his own and so does both of her parents.

One hour later, Angelica sits strapped in an electric chair. In the room there is only her and the person who is administering the procedure. The many witnesses on the other side of the two way mirrors, include her brother, her father, Toy, Beeba and Wendy. Mr. Antonelli is present as well.

Her mother couldn’t bear the sight. The only reason her brother, her father, and her friends are watching is because they promised her they wouldn’t leave her side. Mr. Antonelli’s presence is not for the support, but wanting to witness and be sure that she is dead. The fear that she has instilled in him the past few years has him traumatized. The witnesses wait with anticipation as they watch through the window. Angelica’s loved ones watch through crying eyes.

Thirty minutes ago, she was fed her last meal. The access of any meal she could think of and all she requested was her favorite, chicken wings and shrimp fried rice from the local Chinese store, a bag of Swedish Fish and a can of C&C cola.

It wasn’t the big filet mignon or lobster that most ask for. She’s had enough of that and has never really been impressed by it. With all the fine dining and exquisite cuisine that Mr. Antonelli exposed her to, that isn’t what she missed over the years. What she misses the most is the junk food and the small things in life that she overlooked and took for granted.

“Are you ready?” the man asks Angelica with no compassion.

Angelica looks at him with an arctic blast in her eyes. Her heart is thumping with fear, but she refuses to show it. “It’s gotta go down, so let’s get it over with.” She braces herself and tries hard to prepare herself for the unexpected.

The lights are shut off and Angelica sits in the darkness. The man hits the button and the sound of electricity sounds off.

“Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” she screams with agony for what seems like forever. Her body jolts violently. The screaming ceases and so does her movements.

Close to a minute passes and the lights are turned back on so her death can be witnessed and recorded. Angelica sits strapped in the chair, stiff like the stuffed animals that hunters post in their homes as trophies. Her hair stands straight up on her head from the bolt of the electricity. Her eyes are stretched wide open with the look of shock still in them. Her mouth, stretched open has blood and foam seeping from both sides. With no sign of compassion, the man looks at his watch and records her time of death onto the legal document.

  The End…

Rest in peace, Angelica “Storm” Hill — the indirect offspring of the infamous Killer Cal from Caught ’Em Slippin’.
