“‘Sup?” Sam greeted him and sat down on a concrete block nearby. The door only now closed behind him with a loud creak.

“Not much. I’m taking Loki to a concert tonight. He’s pissing his pants over it.”

“Ah, I was gonna invite you over for a couple of beers, but I guess it can wait.”

“Maybe next time. I gotta throw a party at some point.” Red Jack got up and wiped his hands over his jeans.

“You got protective of him, huh?”

Red Jack looked down into Sam’s eyes, his muscles stiffening. Sam didn’t know, did he? “Not really, no. Fucker can do whatever. As long as he doesn’t bring guys home, I don’t need to know.”

Sam raised his arms. “Whoa. Never said it’s a bad thing.”

Red Jack sighed and pulled off his work gloves. “It’s just… new to me. Freaks me out a bit.”

“Candy asks if you two want to come over sometime.”

“Might do. Then again, I don’t want him to get too comfortable around here. He’s gotta find a place for himself.”

“How bad is it with his family?” Sam leaned forward and rested his elbows on his thighs.

“He said he doesn’t have contact with them anymore.” Red Jack shuffled his feet. He didn’t want to be taking pity on Loki. He didn’t want to develop any weird feelings toward him. That was completely off limits no matter how firm Loki’s stomach was, or how smooth his hair felt, or how well his throat took a dick. No. No. No. “He’s gonna be fine, he’s got a pretty face, he’ll find some gay friends or whatever.”

Sam frowned. “And you think that would be good for him? To have a friend let him stay over for sex?”

Red Jack looked away, feeling as uncomfortable in the conversations as he’d be at the opera. “I don’t know gay stuff,” he groaned. “If he likes the guy, might as well sex him.”

Sam scowled. “I don’t know... seems like a desperate thing to do.”

Red Jack spread his arms. “And why’s that?”

Sam got up from the block and paced around the room. “Come on... that’s like... a very low kind of prostitution. You want your cousin to do that? And who’s gonna guarantee this hypothetical guy won’t get bored in a few weeks?”

“How is it prostitution if he wants it, huh?” Red Jack felt his nape going hot. A heavy, slimy worm made its way down his guts. What if Loki only bore with him to have a place to stay and free food? What if he lied about liking Red Jack?

Sam put his hands down his pockets, regarding Red Jack with a frown. “Even if he likes the guy, he’ll have to do stuff in exchange for staying at his. And it’s not as clear and simple as when just money’s exchanged for the fucking. I mean, I think that he must be in a bad place because if he actually had friends, he’d be with them already.”

“What do you care, anyway?” Red Jack pursed his lips as his mind tried to assess this weird thing with Loki. In light of Sam’s words, Loki’s constant compliments seemed suspicious. It was hard to believe someone liked him so much, freckles and all, yet he was so desperate to believe it that all logic went out the window.

Sam shrugged and scratched his head. “Candy likes him.”

Red Jack rolled his eyes. “Candy likes everyone. But… I suppose I kinda like him too. He’s good at games.” Was that a suspicious thing to say? Red Jack wasn’t sure anymore.

“You play Xbox together?” Sam smiled and punched Red Jack’s arm. “Nerds.”

“What? It’s not like I could play with any of the girls.” It just spilled out of his mouth, so he continued, despite his tongue knotting. “I mean, no one who’d actually live with me and like it. Monster liked to play alone when he was at my place.”

“Yeah, and he likes different stuff,” said Sam, who didn’t seem to suspect a thing. “Anyway. Let us know when you wanna come over. I need to go home early.”

Red Jack nodded, and together they went to the bar where Candy would often wait for Sam and help herself to a free drink. Or two. Lucy was there as well, and he avoided looking her way. He was done making an ass out of himself. And considering the fact that she didn’t even say hello, it really seemed like there was no scheming on her part. She walked past him as if they didn’t even know each other, and he didn’t bother looking at her ass anymore.

“Jack? Did you see her?” asked Sam.

“Whatever,” he mumbled and shrugged. “I’m gonna look for someone who actually likes me.”

Sam stopped for a second before catching up to Red Jack. “Oh... what happened there?”

“She pissed me off, doesn’t matter.” Lucy was really the last topic Red Jack wanted to discuss. Her words were still a thorn in his side.

Sam exhaled. “Good for you, brother.”

“Saaam!” called out Candy, jumping off the barstool. Her stiff skirt remained hitched on the side, revealing layers of petticoats.

“What is it, babe? asked Sam, pulling the fabric into place without a word.

Red Jack would normally comment on Candy’s underwear, but his eyes trailed to Loki, and he bit his lip to avoid smiling at him. Loki looked like hot shit tonight, ready for the concert. His dark hair was straighter than usual, and the black tank top fit him in all the right places, showing off his tats as well. Not to mention the gray skinny jeans on his long, slim legs. Could anyone see how much Red Jack liked Loki? Would they think nothing of it since they all thought he was just Red Jack’s silly gay cousin?

Candy wrapped her arms around Sam, a broad smile on her face. The guy was lucky she was super short. It would have been an embarrassment to be shorter than your girlfriend. Red Jack didn’t have to ever worry about that, thank fuck.

“You ready?” asked Loki, grinning at Red Jack, with a large, half-eaten cookie in hand.

“Yeah, let’s go. Watch those cookies. Don’t wanna get fat for your future boyfriend, do you?” Red Jack gave Loki’s chest a slap.

“I’m not gonna get fat,” Loki said. He kissed Candy good-bye and led the way outside. Damn, his ass looked so good in those pants. Red Jack hadn’t seen them yet, but he was already planning to suggest Loki should wear them more frequently. If they weren’t in a hurry, Red Jack would gladly push them down in some discreet spot.

“Did you do anything useful today? Or just spent all my money at the mall?” Red Jack asked, wondering if it was a shadow of Loki’s balls he could see from behind.

“Since when do I get an allowance?” asked Loki, looking back at Red Jack. “I just got some new underwear to replace the one you tore open.”

Red Jack pointed to his car. He chose it to avoid having Loki on the bitch seat. It would have felt weird to have a guy on the back, with his cock so close to Red Jack’s ass. “Well, you have no job, so I’m guessing you’re stealing from me.” He wasn’t sure of it yet, but he watched for Loki’s reaction.

Loki spun around with a frown. “And what, you’re okay with that?”

“No. You should have asked. Or better—got a job.” Red Jack sat in his car, thinking of what Sam had said earlier and trying to put his worries into words as he waited for Loki to get in.

“I do have a credit card, you know,” grumbled Loki. He jumped into the passenger seat and folded his arms on his chest. “And since when are you so eager to give me money?”

“Since you’re treating me like a free ride and paying me with sex,” Red Jack blurted out and started the car with a squeak to the tires. He didn’t even realize how much it annoyed him until he said it.

Loki closed his mouth and stayed silent for the whole ride through the courtyard and into the street. Red Jack could hear his heartbeat drumming in his ears as the tension in the car gradually rose.

“How can you say that?” Loki’s voice was soft when he finally spoke.

“Isn’t that what you’re thinking?” Red Jack rubbed his forehead and turned into a wider street. “That I’m letting you stay for the fucking?” Red Jack prided himself on never paying for sex, and the thought that he might have involuntarily
ended up a trick had him squeeze the wheel harder. He was good enough to get sex for free. He was a ginger all right, but he had a hot body, cool rides, and he was a member of the Coffin Nails MC. He was not about to be someone’s pity fuck.

Loki looked outside, turning away from him. “Don’t be an ass. If I just wanted a place to stay, I wouldn’t have gone with a guy like you.”

“Why not?” Red Jack needed answers, and he needed them now. Fucking Sam. Always throwing his brain curveballs.

“Because you’re a dick who tried to murder me. Satisfied?” growled Loki.

Red Jack snarled at him. “No, not satisfied. Why are you still at my place then?”

“Why do you think? Is that radioactive helmet stopping you from understanding what’s going on around you?”

“I’m fucking trying!” Red Jack squinted at the gorgeous inked-up guy next to him, before looking back to the road.

  Loki exhaled. “I like you...”

“No, you don’t. No one I ever fucked likes me. I’m unlikeable. Hasn’t Lucy told you?” The hairs on his arms bristled at the memory of her sour words.

A warm hand slid up his forearm and stayed there. Moments later, Loki’s soft hair brushed his arm. “I do.”

“And you wanna stay at my place just because you like me?” Red Jack was sceptical of that, but didn’t push Loki’s hand away. It just felt too damn nice, and as suspicious as he was, he did want to believe Loki.

  “Yes. How’s that so surprising?”

“I’m not the nicest guy, I suppose. Mom always threatened me no one would like me if I kept doing what I did. But when I don’t, people like fucking Lucy walk all over me. When I was a teenager, I tried to be nice to girls. Brought me shit. They talked behind my back, and none would sleep with me anyway. None would go with an ugly ginger fuck like me, no matter how many chocolates I’d buy them.”

Loki petted his arm again. “You’re not ugly. And deep down, you are a sweet guy. If they don’t see that, then it’s their loss.”

Red Jack snorted. “How would you know? There’s not a ‘sweet’ bone in my body. I thought you’d realize that when I almost drowned you.”

Loki rested his head on Red Jack’s shoulder. “I know, but you were high then. It doesn’t count. Just last week I had this horrible headache, and you took care of me, gave me a bag of ice, and put me to bed. That was pretty sweet.”

Red Jack swallowed, unsure what to say. He hadn’t thought much of it back then. The guy was in his house, and had a headache, a nosebleed. It only made sense to help him out. “You are my cousin after all.” Red Jack smirked, feeling a bit lighter. So maybe it was a bit gay, but he did enjoy Loki’s attention. He could return the favor and take him to this concert.

“And now you’re the guy everyone wants. You know that, right?” Loki pressed his mouth against Red Jack’s skin.

“Tryin’ my best. I might have overdone it with Lucy.” Red Jack sighed. “Shouldn’t have sent her a dick pic and all that. I think I went mental because she wouldn’t give me a lap dance, and then it spiralled out of control.”

Loki chuckled. “I could give you one.”

“What?” Red Jack lost focus and changed lanes for a second. “That’s not the point!”

“I know, I know. Just trying to cheer you up.” Loki sighed and pulled away when his phone rang a loud tune Red Jack vaguely recognized. Loki cursed beneath his breath, typed something and pushed the cell back into his pocket with a somber expression.

Red Jack frowned. “You don’t wanna pick that up?”

Loki shrugged. “Was just my dickhead of an ex. Don’t wanna talk to him. And look, we’ve been having a perfectly good time, and he’s ruined it. As always.”

Red Jack watched him for several seconds. “Do you not have any family? Friends? Anyone better to go to than me?” he asked, turning his gaze to the road ahead.

Loki chuckled. “Nah. Family’s dead, I think. Left them as soon as I could. It wasn’t all white picket fences and that kind of shit. As for friends, I’m positive all my exes would love to bury me. I didn’t have much luck with people.”

That piqued Red Jack’s interest. “Oh, really? What did you do to them, bastard?”

Loki leaned back in the seat and closed his eyes. “I reported my first boyfriend for making crack. But he deserved it.”

Red Jack laughed out loud. “That’s harsh. What did he do?” It was fun to find out this stuff about Loki. He’d never really known a gay guy, so he was looking forward to some juicy tidbits from a lifestyle he knew close to nothing about.

Loki rested his forehead against the window on his side and tugged on his hair. “Lots of stuff. For one, he talked me into anal before I wanted to do that. It sucked. I wouldn’t have done it if I knew what I know now. He smacked me around a bit too much, so at some point I just thought ‘fuck it’, you know?” He glanced at Red Jack and brushed his fingers over the seat belt.

“Gotta stick up for yourself, or no one else will.” Red Jack had learned that the hard way, and until he joined the Coffin Nails, he never had anyone have his back. “And what do you mean you didn’t want to do anal?” He snorted, finding it hard to imagine Loki not up for fucking. The guy was such a horny bitch.

Loki frowned and tugged on his earlobe spreader. “I just didn’t. I wanted to jerk off together or suck his cock, but he told me that everyone was doing it, and that I was acting like a kid, so there... And he had a big dick, so it hurt like a motherfucker.”

“I’d never let a guy fuck me. This one fucker tried it in juvie, and I broke his hand.” Red Jack squinted at the road when the memory of the cross-eyed bastard came back to him a little too vividly.

“It’s good when the guy knows what to do with his tool.” Loki chuckled and drank some sweet tea from a bottle.

“No wonder you’re enjoying yourself with me then.” Red Jack smirked. He could already see the concert venue down the road.

“And I like it when you jerk me off as you fuck me.” Loki grinned and shifted closer, brushing his fingers over Red Jack’s chest.

“Yeah? You don’t have to do anything, just spread your legs.” Red Jack snorted, getting hot at the memory of Loki’s stiff, throbbing meat in his palm. Loki’s presence had him in a state of heightened alertness all day and night.

“Don’t say that! Who takes care of your cock each morning? It’s just better when someone does it for you.”

“I love waking up with morning wood between your lips…” Red Jack said but mentally punched himself right after. He shouldn’t have said that. Sounded gay.

Loki smiled and kissed Red Jack through the beard before pulling away as they neared the venue. “I like making you happy.”

“Hey!” Red Jack hissed at him and looked around as he drove into the vast parking lot. “Someone could have seen that. Watch it!”

“I have long hair. Nobody would look at us twice when we’re in the car,” said Loki, unbothered by Red Jack’s anger.

“Did you kiss your other boyfriends in public?”

They found a spot to park at the back of the parking lot. Swarms of people in band T-shirts were already heading for the concert. Some of them stood in small groups, sharing bottles of liquor to not go inside sober and have to get drunk for thrice the money. It almost felt like watching himself pre-Coffin Nails.

Loki shrugged. “Not like... in the street, but I guess in a club, or when we were alone... I really like kissing.”

“I’m more of an in-and-out kinda guy,” said Red Jack as they joined the loud crowd that thickened close to the open entrance. No one would stand in line if there was a chance of skipping even a few people who came here before. Red Jack’s gaze trailed after a girl in black fishnets and high heels as she rushed through the parking lot to meet a friend in a long goth gown. Miniskirts and stockings for the win, as far as Red Jack was concerned.

“What does that mean?” asked Loki.

“Not really into fluff. Never even had a real girlfriend
. I’m too intense for that.” Red Jack crouched a few feet before the stream of people thickened and pretended to tie his shoelace to have a peek under the girl’s skirt as she walked past them with her friend. That skirt was so short he could easily see her pink lacy panties.

“You like living with someone, though.”

“Not really, no,” Red Jack lied as he straightened up. “You’re a pain in the ass.”

Loki snorted and looked away as soon as their gazes met. “Right. I forgot you hate me.”

“I’d call it mild annoyance. But then again, I was getting ‘round to buying a pet or something.” He smiled and put his hands in his pockets.

Loki looked back at him, and the corners of his mouth slowly went up. His eyes were so dark they looked almost like contact lenses, two bottomless wells leading straight to hell. “And a pet can only do so much, right?”

Red Jack licked his lips and leaned to whisper into Loki’s ear. “I’m not gonna fuck a dog.” He took the opportunity to sniff Loki’s herbal shampoo. Fuck, he was horny again, just like that. He frequently inhaled that hair as they fucked, and the instinct to put his hand on Loki’s ass was hard to resist.

Loki gently rolled his shoulder and brushed it against Red Jack’s beard. “I sure hope so. Poor dog.”

“Dog’s not gonna get me takeout either.” Red Jack couldn’t help the smile at the memory of the surprise pizza delivery the other day. So maybe it had been bought with money stolen from him, but it was the thought that counted.

Loki’s gaze settled on Red Jack, and for a moment they stood there, in a bubble of their own, between the streams of people walking by, with the scent of cigarette smoke and pot in the air, honking in the parking lot.

“What?” Red Jack tried to break the spell, but he couldn’t tear his eyes away from the handsome face. All sharp cheekbones and long eyelashes. He raised his eyebrows and got himself a cigarette to keep his hands busy. If they were alone, he’d rub the tip of his dick along Loki’s soft, parted lips.

Loki’s Adam’s apple bobbed slowly, and a tight smile emerged on his lips. “Thanks for doing this for me. I don’t think anyone else would.”
