I licked my fingers and started rubbing over the top of my clit and around it. Dante still hadn’t entered me from behind.

“When we’re done here, we’ll go to the meeting room. My baby needs punishing for being so hot and tempting those four barbarians at the party.”

I stop what I’m doing. “Dante. You can’t blame me for that! You can’t be jealous of those men when they mean nothing to me. I’m not even attracted to them!”

“It doesn’t matter, seeing them circle you like jackals made me crazy.”

  Jealous Dante was hot.

I shoved my hips backwards and wriggled them back and forth, so he took the bait. I shoved backward onto the thick and insistent head of his cock.

We bucked and beat against each other, with him pulling out almost all the way and plunging deep.

The breathtaking sensation of having him inside me was too much, and I was coming unhinged, screaming, “I love it when you fuck me like this!”

“How badly do you want it? Let me hear you beg for it.”

“I need to come, I need you,” I practically screamed.

It was unavoidable. There was no way I could hold back my orgasm, and it shot through me, scorching my body clean.

Unexpectedly, Dante stopped thrusting, and I remained still, enjoying the sensation of being completely full of him while my climax rippled through me, slowing to total surrender.

The crickets sang, the hot tub bubbled behind us and I knew what I wanted. “Come in my mouth, Dante. I want to taste you.”

His voice sounded feral behind me. “Get on your knees, now.”

The kick board was a comfortable place to rest while he stood in front of me, and he pressed the pad of his thumb against my bottom teeth.

  I opened my mouth.

“Good,” he said. “Just like that.” He stood over me and raised the dripping head of his cock to my lips. I put my tongue out to catch his liquid, and he said, “Don’t move.”

He thrust his hips forward, and his erection plowed into me.

A stifled moan rumbled in his chest. “You look like a sexy little angel with your lips wrapped around me like this. Are you ready to choke on this dick?”

I barely nodded my head, and he plunged into my face so I gagged, overwhelmed by the width of his erection and his curved head shoving at the back of my throat.

He slowly withdrew and leisurely thrust back in, forcing the length of his rigid cock into my mouth so far that I gagged around it again.

Lust burned into my brain, and I could think of nothing else but draining every ounce of his release out of him, thirsty for it.

“You are a good girl, aren’t you? You’re going to learn to do what I say and stop fighting what we have together. Even if I have to force you.”

He pet my hair lovingly and pumped into my face while I sputtered around him, turning my head to the side in mock-resistance, even though his forcefulness made the place between my legs burn.

His fingers put a vice grip on my chin to hold my mouth open and he held the back of my head, then gradually, relentlessly, shoved his cock deeper. I made myself to relax as my throat worked against the invasion, turned on by the saliva now dripping down my chin.

“What a well-behaved little cock princess you are,” he said, my pussy pulsing in response to his praise while he held himself deep down my throat.

After a long moment, he withdrew, then tightened his grasp on the back of my head and moved a in steady, rhythmic motion, deeper and deeper until I choked and coughed on every stroke.

I was proud of myself for pleasing him this way and concentrated on breathing through my nose.

Thirsty for the taste of him, I made a fist around the base of his dick so I could stroke and better suck with my mouth. He was rock-hard and his orgasm wasn’t far off; I felt the telltale swell of him beneath my hand.

He let out a rough shout above me. “Holy shit, I’m coming.” It made me moan around him, eager for his taste.

His cock throbbed and pulsed, and suddenly my mouth was full of thick, hot seed. He clasped my head and forced his way deeper into my mouth so that it slid down the back of my throat. His cock twitched until I swallowed all of it.

Afterward, I cleaned his cock with my tongue, and he pulled me off the ground and gathered me to him.

“I love it when you’re rough with me,” I whispered.

“I know,” he said. “Otherwise, you’d have used your safe word.”

I needed a safe word for my heart.

It was too late for that; safeguarding my emotions from Dante Drago’s charms was a lost cause.

I was playing with fire and didn’t care anymore if I got burned.

  Dante

“Good luck with your meeting today, Dante,” she said with a crooked smile, picking my coffee up off the table and taking a sip.

Savanna leaned down to give me a kiss in her black pants and matching sweater, looking more like a movie star than a baker’s assistant.

“You’re glowing, bella.” I placed my palm on her belly and dared her to look away from my stare. “But you can’t skip breakfast.”

“I’ll get a breakfast burrito on the way. But you’re cute worrying about me,” she said, brushing the back of her knuckle against my nose.

“Get out there. Pete’s waiting on you and so is your aunt.”

“Okay, bossy.” She swiped a piece of my toast and I savored the sight of her sweet ass as it swayed towards the back door.

“See you tonight! Prepare yourself to have me between your legs.”

She turned and wagged her finger at me. “You’re incorrigible.”

I was with her, my kryptonite.

My cousin Brando was a new breed of made man. “I don’t want to be Don, Dante. I want to be CEO.”

We sat in his office, if you could call it that. It was the size of a private suite in his hotel and looked out over the Diamante casino.

“From where I sit, it looks like that’s exactly what you’ve achieved here. It was a genius move to go in with the tribal leaders when they needed funding to finish this complex. Now you get a share of their take every month.”

“I was lucky. Right place, right time.”

“That’s modesty talking. This isn’t the only successful venture you’re into. They’re becoming your trademark,” I said.

“Speaking of, let’s talk about your new role as Union President.”

“I’m not elected yet. Though Don Alberto made it sound like a sure thing. My opponent has gotten himself into some seriously unelectable bullshit.”

“It’s a foregone conclusion, I’m looking at the new Union President. What’s your opinion on the matter of being made Capo?”

Rolling my neck, I said, “I don’t know. So far I’ve kept my hands clean.”

“The days when our family smeared its hands with the blood of our competition to stay ahead are long gone. These days, a made man is a businessman. No different from what you’re doing now.”

The coffee cup was warm in my hand and the caffeine blend was potent and powerful, like my cousin. “Give me a bit to think on it, Brando. It’s an honor to be asked.”

Brando held his cup in his hands. Elegant hands, equally capable of mastering a piano forte as they were wrapping piano wire around an enemy’s neck.

“I understand,” he said. “But let’s not make Don Alberto wait long on your decision to become a real member of the family.”

Sometimes it seemed like Savanna was waiting for me to turn her skin into an overcoat.

It made sense given what she’d gone through. My thoughts hovered around her non-stop.

  Obsessively?

There was time to swing by the bakery to pick up some mid-morning donuts for the crew. While I was there, I could check in on Savanna.

It wasn’t stalking; it was being attentive. Sure, I had Pete keeping watch over her, but I needed to check up on her myself.

There was a patrol car parked
at the curb in front of Piece of Cake, and I thought nothing of it. I didn’t notice the emblem that said, “Department of Justice” instead of “Briarville Police.”

Strolling into the bakery, I overheard the special agent speaking to Teresa. “We use a historical geo-tracer to pinpoint location on victims. A missing person’s report was filed on Mathew Sullivan, and this very bakery is his final traced location.” The man in uniform, placed his forearms on the counter and clasped his hands together, tilting his head at Teresa. “You sure you don’t remember seeing him?”

My heart slammed in my chest. Where was Savanna? Did they know she knew Mathew, or not?

The agent spoke, as if he heard my thoughts. “We also know that your niece had a restraining order against him. By chance did he show up looking for her?”

“Not that I know of. Savanna came here to get away from him. He didn’t even know where she was.”

“You’d be surprised, ma’am. Obsession is rocket fuel to a stalker—they don’t give up easy.”

I leaned to the side, peering around the broad shoulders of the agent, and didn’t see Savanna in the back. Was she hiding upstairs?

My questions would have to wait until the investigators left.

I stepped outside to where Carlos and Pete were occupying a table.

“Where is she?” I whispered, my body tensed as if for a fight.

“She dashed out the back door as soon as they pulled up. Must have seen the badge on the car door—it says Oakland, California. Lucky, they didn’t see her.”

“Why didn’t you go after her?” I asked.

“We tried, boss. She was out of sight in the back alley by the time we got there. She’s not answering our texts or calls.” The giant wrapped his huge fingers around his espresso cup, hiding it entirely. “We would have texted you, too, but you literally arrived just as this was going down. Like you got some kind of sixth sense on her or something.”

“Yeah, well, I didn’t make it in time. I’m going to see if I can locate her. Make sure Teresa is okay after they leave and find out what story she gave them. Text me with any updates.”

I should have known it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

  Complacency was the enemy.

Finally, towards evening, I got the call I’d been waiting for, but it wasn’t from Savanna.

“Dante, where are you?” Brando asked.

“Driving around like an idiot. I haven’t had time to think about your offer yet.”

“That’s not why I’m calling. By chance are you looking for a blonde, nice figure, trying to lie low?”

“Where is she?” I growled at him.

“Easy tiger, she’s safe and sound. Pete sent her picture over and we’ve been watching the security cameras like hawks. She just checked into a room wearing sunglasses and a baseball hat.”

I drove my truck like a Formula One racecar and got to the casino fifteen minutes after hanging up with Brando.

Brando noted my speedy arrival. “She has you by the balls, my friend, doesn’t she?”

“That’s putting it mildly,” I said.

“Well, she’s in room 408. Don’t be too hard on her. She looked scared shitless when she came in.”

The door to room 408 swung open, and felt awful when Savanna skittered back, face paper white, eyes like teacups, emitting a loud yelp.

“Sorry, cara. I didn’t mean to startle you.”

“Dante! What are you doing here?”

“More to the point, what the fuck are you doing here? You had me with my heart in my throat.”

“Special Agents, they came to Auntie’s shop! They were after me.” She paced back and forth, rubbing the back of her neck.

“They were following up on an investigation, Savanna. Doing their jobs. Doesn’t mean they found anything.”

“Don’t you see? I caused this. I brought this into your life! Put you under the scrutiny of the law. I can’t stay and place your political career at risk!”

“This is a problem we made go away, Savanna. You have nothing to worry about so long as you don’t run away and hide every time someone shows up asking questions. Trust me, they’ll get tired and go away eventually because they won’t find what they’re looking for.”

“You don’t get it, Dante. This isn’t the movies. It’s only a matter of time before they figure out what happened. I can’t have you be a part of that. You have the upcoming election to think about!”

She sat on the bed, rocking her body. “I thought I could come here and be safe from all of this. This is the real world. You don’t get to start over when you make a mistake.”

“Savanna, we’re on sovereign land. It belongs to the tribe and neither the DOJ nor the local police can enter without permission.” I sat down and pulled her to me. “Look, you’ve had a scare, but I promise that whatever it is out there that frightens you, you’re protected. I’ll keep you safe.”

Unappeased, she continued. “I should have seen Mathew as a threat from the beginning, but I didn’t. I was nice to someone who was evil and wanted to hurt me.”

She walked to the curtain, pulled it back and looked out over the river. “From now on, nobody bosses me around, nobody tricks me into trusting them. Your brief fantasy about making me your submissive, that’s just not going to fly.”

My jaw set and I formed my hands into a steeple beneath my chin. “Whether or not you admit it, baby, you crave my control. The thing you should know about being my submissive is that you don’t get what you want. You get what you need.”

  Dante

“You need something in your stomach. You’re not thinking clearly if you believe you can drop everything and walk away from what we’ve got,” I told her.

She shoved herself down the hallway, refusing to let me take her elbow, and evidently didn’t appreciate how hard such behavior was going to get her spanked.

My cock grew hard at the thought.

  Disciplined.

  Harder still.

  Chastised.

I needed to stop thinking about it or my hard on would lead the way into the restaurant.

This public persona thing meant I had to keep myself under control when Savanna was around.

That was a feat more difficult than climbing K2.

  “Savanna, slow down,” I warned.

“If you had any sense at all, Dante, you’d put some distance between me and you. At least until you know those agents have left town.”

I did the only thing I could. I pulled her close to my side, wrapped my right arm around her. She quieted and followed me into the private booth reserved in the restaurant.

She didn’t try to be beautiful; it came naturally.

I’d seen other men appreciating her plenty, but Savanna was made for me. Her smell, the way her brown brows cut across her forehead, and her lips bowed together like a gift I wanted to unwrap.

Our server poured water and left the table, and suddenly the words came. “Savanna, before I met you my gloom followed me everywhere. You lightened my darkness and helped put my broken pieces back together. I cannot—no more than the sun can cannot appear in the sky—give you up.” I tore a roll in half and dunked it into the olive oil and balsamic vinegar set out on a plate. “It’s past time you gave in and let yourself fall for me like I know you want to. Like I’ve fallen for you.”

Savanna tilted her jaw and bit her lip. “That’s a hell of a lot to mull over before appetizers have even arrived.”

After dinner, we strolled past slot machines where neon light trails ascended to a colorful burst announcing a big winner. Like fireworks, they splashed color over Savanna’s features. Her mouth was partially open, looking up at the brilliant display.

  Could she feel it?

Did her heart and spirit recognize mine, like I recognized her?

I placed my hands on her hips, and turned her slowly around to face me, convincing myself that the expression of wonder on her features
was all for me.

That she was in awe of what she felt too.

  That she’d fallen hard.

Lowering my mouth to hers, I saw her eyelids flare slightly open and hoped it was a good sign.

“Savanna,” I said, and even to me it sounded like an incantation. Like the nuns at St. Agnes made us sing. Morning, afternoon and night my body’s desire and love for her rang like church bells in my soul.

It twisted my guts. It made me tighten my grip on her silky hair.

Leaning down to taste her, deepening the kiss, I didn’t give a rat’s ass who was watching.

The senior citizen special kept their eyes on the blinking and spinning wheels in front of them, oblivious that I was about to lay Savanna down on the red carpet behind their stools and fuck her on top of the spilled drinks and cigarette ash.

I bent to her ear and whispered, “Mine.” Wrapping the soft strands of her hair around my hand, I tugged backward. “I always protect what’s mine.”

Things had become a real mind fuck between us.

If she ran and escaped, bad things would happen.

I might be a tough son of a bitch, but if it was only a matter of time before Savanna was taken from me, and it would be like losing Lilly all over again.

God forgive me for the next thought that crossed my mind—that losing Savanna would be a hell of a lot worse.

“Let’s go home, baby. You don’t belong here, and I need you in my bed.”

Driving home, there was something eating at me like a mosquito bite I couldn’t reach to scratch.

My pulse sped as I flexed my fingers on the steering wheel. Pissed.

There was only one way to get myself under control, and that was by disciplining her for running away.

Someone needed to be taught a lesson that would ensure I had her complete attention.

  Besides, she liked it.

She spun her head to look at me as I turned on the indicator light and pulled off onto the deserted dirt road. “Where are we going?” Savanna dry-washed her hands, and I almost felt bad for what I was about to do to her.
