  “Marshall!”

I called out helplessly then struggled to try to get them off of him. The other patrons in the restaurant started screaming at the commotion. The entire staff jumped in quickly and separated everybody before anything else could happen.

  “Come on!” Hudson shouted.

He motioned for his men to follow him. They raced out of the restaurant and Marshall chased after them. They got on their bikes and burned rubber down the street. I grabbed Marshall before he could try anything more.

“No,” I said. “Not tonight. Marshall, please.”

His face was red with anger. Beads of sweat dripped down his forehead.

“Marshall… Marshall, please… Let the police handle him…”

I pleaded, desperately trying to get through to him. He finally turned to me and his face softened.

“Come on,” I said. “You can’t do anything about him now. Hudson knows he’s a marked man in Snow Falls. Don’t let him get to you. Don’t let him ruin this night.”

Marshall exhaled a deep breath through his nose and nodded to me.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “It’s just when I saw him—”

“You don’t have to explain anything to me.”

I put a hand up to his face and caressed his cheek.

  “Just forget about him.”

We headed back into the restaurant. One of the waiters greeted us.

“I’m sorry about that incident,” he said, his voice panicked. “I don’t know how that man got in. Rest assured, the police have been notified.”

“It’s all right,” I said. “He won’t trouble us tonight.”

“I can assure you of that. If there’s anything you need, just let us know.”

I looked up at Marshall and he appeared calm. I smiled softly at him and felt a bit of relief when he finally smiled back at me.

“Dessert,” I said. “That’s all we need tonight.”

I wasn’t about to let Hudson ruin this moment with Marshall. I didn’t care that it was selfish. Dinner was incredible but I convinced myself that the best was still yet to come.

  Chapter 21

  MARSHALL

Spencer let out a deep sigh and collapsed onto the couch in his living room. He sat in the darkness and stared out the window.

  Damn…

He was just as handsome as always. But even though he put a smile on my face, I couldn’t deny how distracted I was.

  “I’m sorry,” I said.

He slowly turned toward me, his brow twisted in confusion.

“What are you sorry about?” he asked.

“I’ve been a little distracted tonight. After that incident with Hudson, I…”

  “Come here…”

I walked over and took a seat on the couch next to him. He tickled my ear with his index finger and caressed my cheek. I closed my eyes and a sigh escaped me. His touch was so calming. The entire world could be falling all around me and I wouldn’t care as long as he was there with me.

“I had the most delicious steak I’ve ever had,” he said. “Three of them. I stuffed myself so much that I’m not hungry. Dessert was more than I could ask for. And dancing with you, in front of everybody else… There’s nothing better than being close to you and showing off the Alpha I’m with.”

He smiled softly at me. Such innocence in his eyes… It only made me more upset that someone had to ruin our evening.

  “You’re not upset?” I asked.

“Why would I be?” he said with a shrug. “I just told you how wonderful tonight was.”

  “Right…”

“I can see how much it’s bothering you though. I don’t suppose there’s anything I can do for you.”

“Short of telling me Hudson and his new crew are locked up, I don’t think so.”

  “That’s what I figured.”

He sighed through his nose, that smile still on his lips.

  “I’m sorry—”

“I just said you don’t have to apologize,” he said with a laugh. “Let me ask you something.”

  “Anything.”

“When you’re with me, do you ever think about anybody else?”

  “What do you mean?”

“When I’m with you, all I can think about is you. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be. I felt that way when I first met you but I just thought it was some silly schoolboy crush. Now I know that it’s something more.”

  I nodded in understanding.

“Yeah,” I said with a smile. “I feel the same way. I’ve always felt the same.”

“We’ve had a wonderful evening. Forget Hudson. Forget the dinner and dessert. Forget the dancing. We were together. Nobody can take that away from us.”

He moved his face close to mine. I closed my eyes and let his lips linger on mine for just a moment. A soft kiss made all of my troubles disappear.

“Whatever happens, there’s no need to worry about it tonight,” he said. “Just be my Alpha tonight. Can you be my Alpha?”

  I nodded again.

  “If you’ll be Omega.”

  “I’ll always be your Omega.”

I put my face to his again, licking his lips before sliding my tongue between his teeth. His body was hard and warm up against me, even through his clothes. I reached down and started undressing him while our tongues tangled together. Our wet, messy kisses filled the room and drowned out my thoughts. All I wanted was Spencer. Nothing else.

I pulled his clothes off until he was naked, sitting on the couch next to me while I ran my hands all over him. I reached down and playfully pumped on his hard cock. He chuckled softly into my mouth.

“That’s my job,” he whispered. “Let me…”

My suit was uncomfortable, so I was more than eager to get out of it. Letting Spencer undress me only made it that much more enjoyable.

He straddled me and undid my tie. The silk fabric flew to the other side of the room. I helped him peel my jacket off me and the buttons on my shirt followed. It wasn’t long before I was shirtless before him. He ran his hands over my chest and down my stomach until he got to my belt. The metal clasp of my buckle being undone was almost as loud as our kisses. He moaned loudly when I trailed my mouth down toward his neck.

I was throbbing so hard that another second in my restraints would be unbearable. As soon as he zipped me down, Spencer eagerly tugged at my pants and briefs. I kicked them away until I was sitting comfortably naked on his couch with him straddling me.

  “Your leg,” he whispered.

  “It’s fine… Just fine… I’ll show you…”

I grabbed him and laid him down on the couch. I got on top of him, rotating so that his cock was right in front of me. I took his tip between my lips and started sucking him off.

  “Oh… Marshall…”

He sighed my name softly, his breath warm against my cock. Even if he’d protested, there was nothing he could do to stop me from having him closer. I pushed my dick toward his lips and Spencer did the rest.

I was on top of him, my mouth on his cock and his mouth on mine. We sucked and swallowed one another. The wet slurp of tongues on hard shafts was so loud that it drowned the sounds of our simultaneous desires.

This… This was more than I could ask for, being with another man, pleasuring him while he did the same to me.

Spencer was so good that my body started to take control of itself. My hips bucked back and forth as deeper strokes forced my cock down his throat. At the same time, I continued to polish every inch of his length with every inch of my tongue.

  “Marshall… I…”

His whole body was hard underneath me. His gagging along with his sweaty skin rubbing against mine turned everything we were doing into one, big noisy mess.

Suddenly, he seized up underneath me. His body shook as small pulses of his cum fired out of him. I sealed my lips around him and swallowed down every drop that came out of him. The sweet taste of his seed was easy for me to gulp. I kept working my tongue on the side o
f his shaft to milk as much as I could out of him but it wasn’t long before he was spent.

I pulled my cock from his mouth and stood up straight. Spencer was such a sight. His skin glistening with sweat underneath the moonlight. His muscles taut while he took deep breaths. His cock shimmering with a combination of our fluids. His hard belly swollen with our child.

He blinked his eyes open and looked up at me. His stare shifted toward my hard cock. I pumped myself a few times and gave him a smirk. He smiled back at me, his face red from a combination of exhaustion and embarrassment.

  “I’m your Omega,” he whispered.

Spencer never failed to amaze me. Now wasn’t an exception.

He sat up on his couch and turned around. He spread his legs a bit and stuck his ass out. He presented himself to me. His asshole was wet with lubrication. There was so much of it that it dripped down the insides of his thighs. My mouth watered just from the sight of it.

I moved closer to him and positioned my cock at his entrance.

I gripped his waist and pressed my tip against him. Spencer inhaled a sharp breath and a shudder shot through his body.

“Oh… Give it to me, Alpha… We’re the only ones who matter tonight…”

I put both hands on his waist and squeezed him tight to make sure he didn’t move. My cock plunged deep inside of him slowly. His ass was tight but slick. It felt like my entire body was being swallowed whole. I gritted my teeth and buried myself completely into him, pressing my hilt against his ass.

“Just like that… Come on… Let me feel you…”

I started slowly, thumping my cock into him with deep strokes. Every thrust shifted his entire body.

It felt too good to go slow for very long. I lost myself again to him. My hips rocked back and forth. Spencer’s hard body was forced to move to my rhythm.

  “That’s… it… Just… like… that…”

He sighed the words in rhythm with each of my thrusts. It wasn’t long before I was pounding him so hard that he couldn’t speak. The only noises he made were desperate whimpers that told me to give it to him even harder.

My passion had consumed me. Only an Omega, my Omega, could stir this kind of emotion inside of me. I kept slapping my body against his until I knew that there was nothing more I could do.

Body sweaty. Balls tight. Muscles strained. Throat dry. My body was on the verge and nothing could stop me now.

  “Spencer…”

I gritted my teeth and squeezed him with every ounce of strength I had left as I started to come. My knees buckled. My body trembled so hard that I almost fell over. But I dug my feet in and held my place. Nothing would stop me from coming every last drop I had into his ass.

  “That’s it… Give it to me…”

Spencer guided me through my orgasm. I came so hard but hearing him want it only made it more satisfying.

I held onto him until I was finally spent.

My heart slowed and my breath eased. I released him from my grip. My cock fell out of him and a trickle of cum dripped down his thighs like I’d been plugging him up this whole time. I put a hand on his ass and admired the view for a moment before he eventually collapsed, his face awkwardly resting on the couch cushion. Even though it felt so good, I couldn’t help but smile at what I’d done to him.

But when my desire to ravage him had disappeared completely, my thoughts started to wander again.

  Hudson…

I couldn’t shake him. Not even with the man I cared more about than anything here with me. And that only made me more upset than I’d been this entire night.

I walked over to the window and leaned up against the wall. I stared out into the city. It was still late but there were so many lights on out there.

  “What’s wrong?”

Spencer walked up to me and rested his head against my arm.

“He’s out there,” I said. “He’s somewhere out there. He’s up to something. He wouldn’t have confronted me if that wasn’t the case.”

“The cops took down his crew. A new gang of Bleeding Hearts wouldn’t be much. Not with how notorious he is in the city.”

I looked at Spencer and shook my head.

“I can’t rest,” I said. “I can’t be comfortable. Not knowing that he’s in Snow Falls and I’m still here.”

Spencer kissed my arm and leaned in closer to me.

“Hudson will get what’s coming to him,” he said. “I’m sure of it. Men like him don’t last very long in Snow Falls. Not even in the Southern Block.”

“I want you to know that I’m gonna do everything I can to make sure you’re safe. I won’t rest until Hudson is taken care of, once and for all.”

  “…I believe you.”

With Spencer by my side, I was more determined than ever. The only problem was I had no idea what Hudson was up to. Until I figured out what he was planning, I had to keep my guard up.

  Chapter 22

  SPENCER

  Two days later…

The dining hall that Ashton had built for all of the residents was always packed when it was mealtime. It was spacious enough that it never felt cramped even when it was filled to capacity.

Today felt a little different though. Mealtime at the shelter was one thing. Celebrations were something else entirely.

  “Congratulations!”

Eunice walked up and wrapped her arms around me, a big smile on her face.

“When Noah told me the news you don’t know how I excited I was.”

“Noah’s always looking for a reason to throw a party here at the shelter,” I said. “Birthdays. Anniversaries. A baby shower isn’t anything different.”

“Oh, I think you’ve got the wrong idea. Everybody here loves to welcome someone new to the shelter. Having a child is a special thing. When an Alpha and Omega get together… There’s nothing else like it in the world. Here I am talking your ear off. You want me to get you something to eat?”

“No thanks,” I said with a laugh. “I think I’ve had enough for now. But I’m sure my baby will be kicking for some more in not too long.”

“You let me know if there’s anything else you need. Everybody here is excited for you!”

I stood next to the exit to the dining hall. The residents feasted on the food that was prepared. It was a celebration and I was the center of it. Well, I was supposed to be, anyway.

“So… All this food and here you are standing off to the side by yourself.”

Noah walked up to me, rocking his son back and forth gently in his arms.

  “What’s wrong?” he said.

“Nothing,” I said with a shrug. “I’m fine.”

“You should be more than fine. It’s a baby shower! I figured you’d be excited to celebrate bringing a baby into this world.”

“I am excited. Believe me. There’s nothing more I want than to be a father.”

“Yet here you are, surrounded by food and people that care about you, staring out into the crowd like something else is on your mind.”

I could tell Noah anything. I’d been volunteering at the shelter long enough to trust him. Seeing his son in his arms was another reminder that he might’ve known what I was going through.

  “It’s… It’s Marshall,” I said. “Lately he’s been distracted. He’s distracted, now I’m distracted.”

  “I heard.”

  “You did?”

“Ashton told me he had a conversation with Marshall. Talked to him about what happened that night at dinner. How the jerk that abducted Amy is back in town.”

I looked over at Amy. She was sitting at a table surrounded by a bunch of other kids.

“Look at her,” Noah said. “Smiling. Laughing. So happy…”

“There was a time when I wondered if I would ever see that smiling face of hers again.”

“Yet here you are, looking like it’s the end of the world. Maybe some cake will cheer you up.”

“Cake won’t cheer me up. I already tried.”

  W
e shared a laugh. Even though I wasn’t completely down, I couldn’t shake the distractions in my thoughts.

“Speak of the devil…” Noah said.

Ashton and Marshall were on the other side of the room.

“What do you think they’re talking about?” Noah asked.

“That’s not hard to figure out. They’re probably going over their plans to deal with Hudson. That’s just who Marshall is. Even though he won’t admit it, I know it still eats him up inside that Hudson got away. The two of them are figuring out how to put this thing to an end.”

“Jerks. You’d think they could put their plans to rest during a baby shower.”

  “It’s all right. Like I said… That’s… That’s just who he is.”

“Well, I’m gonna put a stop to this.”

  “What? What are you doing?”

  “Follow me.”

Noah marched through the dining room and headed over to Marshall and Ashton. The two of them stopped talking as soon as we approached them.

“What are you two doing?” Noah said.

“What?” Ashton said with a shrug.

“It’s the middle of a baby shower and you two are going over business. Spencer is just getting ready to open some presents and you’re somewhere else. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Especially you.”

Noah glared at Marshall. Marshall sighed and turned toward me.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “But I have to—”

  “It’s all right,” I said. “I understand. I just—”

  “No. Noah’s right.”

Marshall walked up to me and put his lips on mine. A tender kiss made me forget about anything I could’ve been upset about.

“This is your day,” he whispered. “I should be with you. I just… I just need to talk to you for a second. Alone.”

  “Of course.”

Noah and Ashton didn’t say anything as Marshall and I excused ourselves. We walked through the shelter and headed out to the front entrance. It was a warm day in Snow Falls. The sun was out and the sky was clear. The streets were mostly empty in this part of the Southern Block, so it felt like we were completely alone.

  “What is it?” I said.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry about the past few days. How distracted I’ve been. But—”
