“Trust you?” Her voice quavered. “I’m not good at that.”
“I know. And my mistake was trusting Jon. He took the presentation completely in the wrong direction.” He ran his fingers through his uncombed

hair . “He’s young, new to the firm. I should have handled it by myself, like I promised.”
“Your intentions were good.” Her resolve to hate him weakened with his heartfelt explanation. It made sense, really. The last few days she’d encouraged him to spend as much time with her as possible, forgetting about the hours he’d need to create her PowerPoint presentation. She looked across the table at his tousled hair and earnest expression.
She sighed. Now that hurt feelings had faded, the whole debacle was starting to seem kind of…sweet. Both Edward and Ted were trying to please her at the same time. What woman could blame her man for trying to be everything she wanted?
“I’m sorry too. I should have talked to you after I watched the PowerPoint—given you a chance to explain.”
Relief eased the lines in his face, his smile erasing the ten years yesterday had added to his face. “I wish you had.”
“Typically, my insecurities kicked in again.” She picked at a speck of dried jam stuck to the placemat. “But the whole mess did make me rethink a lot of decisions.”
He shot her a worried glance.
Before this goes any farther,” her finger swung between their chests, “you need to know that I don’t need the PowerPoint presentation anymore. I don’t want to head up Guest Services for the chain. I’m staying on as Recreation Director, right here. I love my job.” She laid her hands flat on the table. There she’d said it, out loud, making it true. She wasn’t leaving Loon Lake or the hotel.
“That makes sense. They could pull an executive from another arm of the organization to fill the job in
Toronto, but here, you’re irreplaceable.” Relief lit his eyes, lightened his tone. “I was worried you were going to say something awful—like you were moving to Australia or something. Love at that distance would require an entirely different kind of schedule.” His brow creased. “Flex-time.”
Her gaze flicked to his face. Did he say love? “Yes, a different schedule.”
“But still not impossible.” He reached for her hand and tugged her from her chair. Patting his knee, she settled into his arms and rested her head against his chest.
Twenty-four hours of tension eased from her body. “Edward.” His arm tightened, pressing her closer. “You don’t need to be a “Ted” to please me. I think Edward is a fine name…for a wonderful man.”
“But if it wasn’t for your experiment, I wouldn’t be here right now. I’d have spent my vacation in my room, working and dodging calls from my mother.”
She nodded into his shirt. And she wouldn’t have fallen for the man of her dreams and discovered that she already had the job of her dreams. “True. And you did learn Tai Chi.”
Seconds ticked by. Down the block a garage door rolled shut; cars rolled past the driveway. Under her cheek, his chest rose and fell. His hand crept up to cradle the back of her head. “I love you.”
His words floated above them, like Edward, quiet and unassuming. When their enormity registered, like the sun emerging from the clouds, she pushed up from her warm nest and looked into his face.
She traced the line of his jaw, rough with stubble and unbearably seductive. With her fingertip, she tilted his head slightly, anticipating the kiss she trusted would follow. “I love you too.”
A Suite Deal
(Suite Love Series, Book One)
Real romance rises again! A Suite Deal (Suite Love Series, Book One) is an emotional, romantic story where the hero and heroine fall in love at an organic, natural pace. Set in Ontario, Canada's gorgeous cottage country, the rugged backdrop evokes memories of summering at the lake—and maybe of your first love!
Unlike sweet romance heroine's of the past, Lily is no shrinking violet. She is a marine biologist passionately advocating for the protection of Loon Lake.
Ethan, hotel magnate, threatens to change her lake with the construction of his flagship hotel, The Nirvana. But he isn't your standard Alpha Male. He’s saddled with allergies, a nerdy obsession for crunching numbers and an admirable devotion to a sister with Down Syndrome. What's not to love?
This unlikely love story takes place in small-town Canada. The village of Buttermilk Falls is home to the gossip gals of the Bluebird Cafe, with streets named after flowers and not a traffic light in sight. A Suite Deal is the first book in my Suite Love Series.

A pleasure to read! Sue Gibson has a remarkable ability to take the reader right into the setting and story of her first book, "A Suite Deal". She provides vivid descriptions not only of the scenery and surroundings but also the feelings and relationships experienced by the characters. A perfect romance story that had me reaching for her second book, "A Suite Life". ML Coates
This was the perfect romance to escape into on a rainy day. The relationship between marine biologist and hotel CEO Ethan is sweet and believable. The setting of Osprey Island and Loon Lake sounds beautiful and peaceful. Sue kept me turning pages, unable to put the book down until the end. I can't wait to read her next book. Shar Dimick
This is my favorite kind of romance -- one that grows naturally and believably out of a friendship between the hero and heroine. Lily is a marine biologist who wants to preserve and protect the land (and water) neighboring the fishing lodge her parents own; Ethan is a hotel developer who wants to buy the rocky island left to Lily by her grandparents. She has plenty of reason to distrust him, but he's a genuinely nice guy, so her guard keeps slipping. Gibson does a wonderful job of handling the realistic obstacles to their romance without the kind of extended bickering that supplies the tension in too many romance novels. It's easy to see why these two characters from different worlds are drawn to each other, and we root for them to end up together. Highly recommended! Holly LaPat
A Suite Life
(Suite Love Series, Book Two)
Delaney has sold her business and is finally free to escape her stifling hometown—Buttermilk Falls, Ontario. Now, she is all set to fly to Paris and paint to her heart’s content.
Trey has managed to avoid the career-killing ties of love and marriage and is a rising star in the Weatherall hotel chain. Too bad he is stuck in this backwater village as temporary hotel manager for a whole month.
When on her last night in town Delaney’s house is damaged by a fire, and she is forced to take Trey up on his offer to live in a gorgeous Penthouse suite. Soon after Trey discovers her artistic talent, a hotel job offer follows.
They agree to a pact–no-strings dating. Both fully intend to leave Buttermilk Falls as soon as possible. Funny thing about love, it messes up the best laid plans.
Delaney comes to see that an artist can create anywhere. And the lure of exotic locations and a big corner office can’t compete with Trey’s attraction to Buttermilk Fall’s resident artist. http://www.amazon.com/Suite-Life-Love-Series- ebook/dp/B00A73X4YO/ref=tmm_kin_title_0?ie= UTF8&qid=1365960971&sr=1-1

With warmth and gentle humour, Sue Gibson follows up on the lives and loves of the characters brought to life in "A Suite Deal" with her second book, "A Suite Life". For a romance novel of friendship, love, and picturesque settings, go no further! Once again, Sue does not disappoint. Let's hope we will see more engaging stories from her.

The book really is sweet. The characters are likable and smart, their romance is slow and simmering (without anything graphic if that's your preference), and the setting, in a gorgeous lakeside hotel in rural Canada, is fantastic…..The heroine is a young painter struggling to get her mojo back, which I can relate to. I liked how Trey, the workaholic hotel-exec hero, was so supportive….Now I want to
visit rural Ontario. I hope she writes more in the series; I might have to settle for that. |
