In Keagan’s backyard the air shimmered. A wisp of thick black smoke squeezed through the shimmer. It curled through the air and twisted among the plants.
A flower wilted.
A few blades of grass dried out and went brown.
A caterpillar turned to dust.
The smoke dispersed.
And everything was normal again.
