The Storm Page 28

by R. J. Prescott

To the best family in the world, Gerry, Faye, Ben, Boo, Dave, Gareth, Laura, Dan, Sarah, David and Tiffany. You all make me feel that there is nothing I can’t achieve, and no matter what you always love and support me. I feel so lucky to call you all my family.

Marie. Yours and Tony’s friendship means so much to Lee and I. I always loved reading, but you opened me up to a whole world of romance and new authors, and then made me believe I could be one of them. We have been together since the start of this crazy journey, and I couldn’t imagine it without you. Thank you for always making me believe in myself.

Rachel de Lune. Your books kick arse and I’m so lucky to have you in my life. You motivate me and keep me smiling, even in the seventh circle of editing hell. I hope you still remember me when you’re an NYT best seller. It’s only a matter of time.

Louisa Maggio. I can’t even bring myself to call you my cover designer, because you are so much more than that. You are, and forever will be, my friend. Your talent blows me away, but more importantly you are kind, generous and have more integrity than anyone I have ever met. You bring my books to life and I will always feel so grateful to have you in my life.

To my editor Vernonica, thank you so much for everything. I loved your motivation and good humour and I look forward to more books together in the future.

Cassy Roop thank you so much for your awesome formatting skills. You let me crush deadlines and still you work miracles to make my book beautiful and on time for release. I’m so grateful to be able to work with you!

To Lynsey and Nicola. Ladies, I don’t know if a couple of sentences are enough for what I need to say. Meeting you guys has literally changed my life. Nicola, you have supported me from the very beginning and you always know when I need you, even before I do. Lynsey, I love your strength and your unwavering support. When I lost my literary voice, you guys made me believe that people would wait for me to find it. Some people have a way of finding you when you really need them, and I needed you so very badly when we first met. It is because of you that the Hurricanes exist, and I will never be able to thank you enough for everything that you have done for me.

Prescott’s Hurricanes, you guys amaze me on a daily basis. You are kind, generous and supportive and thanks to this amazing group, I have forged so many friendships. When I lost my voice you helped me find it. I owe this book entirely to you. Without your posts, your messages and your support, this book would never have been written. You have made this last year so much fun, and from the bottom of heart I thank you.

To the lovely Mr Attree. Thank you for being my guide to all things Irish and for giving me the greatest band name!

Thank you so much to all of my friends in Bristol, Cardiff and around the world. Christine, Jodie, Kerrie, Kevin, Cynth, Amanda, Ruth, Ceri-Anne, Adele, Paul, Bronwen, and all my friends. Your support and encouragement means the world to me.

To the lovely Sue Roberts, thank you for your wonderful beta reading skills. You gave me a desperately needed perspective and your comments always help me to improve my writing.

To each and every blogger, author and reader who has offered me the hand of friendship and supported my books, thank you so very much. To be part of a community of kindred spirits, who understand completely what it is to lose yourself in a book, and emerge profoundly changed by the experience, is a privilege that I will never take for granted.

Finally, to you the reader. Thank you for taking a chance on me. I may have created the Driscoll’s boys, but in every way that counts, they belong to you.
