Taming a Bear: Not Your Average Fox: BBW Shifter Romance (Red Moon Seduction)

Page 3

by Bryce, Stella

Kai was sniffing, his bear snout wanted to come out. Something was in the air, something calling to him. He’d have to stay focused. The red moon was playing havoc on him, as it would on most in town, but he had a job to do. He’d cover Matt’s back. It was what they did.

Matt and Kai slammed through the door at the sheriff’s office, ready to intervene. The two slid across the floor, trying to stop the momentum they’d build up.

  “What the…?”

“Hey, boys,” Bunny said with a seductive grin. She was wearing a skintight dress that hugged all of her perfectly placed curves. Damn, she wasn’t expecting Kai to show up with Matt.

“Bunny? What the hell is going on?” The boys looked around. There was no commotion, no ruckus, and not a lick of trouble.

She slowly unzipped her dress, unable to waste a second of time. She let it slip off her shoulder. “We have some business, big boy.” Her gaze was locked on Matt.

Before he could stop himself, Kai lunged at Bunny and rolled with her. “Mine,” he growled and turned to snarl at Matt.

It was too late; the moon pulled him deep into his lustful desires. Bunny was knocked off her feet, but before she could hit the ground, she was scooped into Kai’s arms as he rolled onto his back taking the brunt of the fall. He was losing control, his body shifting, his bear needing to come out.

Bunny let out a yelp as they rolled, and then as her nose twitched, she wrapped up into the bear and called out in a lusty tone. “You can leave now, Matt. I found my bear.” She couldn’t have known. His brother would be the one for her.

Taken by surprise, Bunny’s playful side came out as she slid into her small bunny form. The chase was on. The couple was out the door in a shot, knowing they’d end up naked and wrapped around the other when the moment came upon them. Kai would plant his seed and claim Bunny for his own.

Matt turned tail and shifted so he could move faster. His powerful body lunged forward, with only one thought in mind. Get to Anna before she found another. He knew she was his chosen one, but she’d fight it. She’d fought him all year. He had to convince her. She was the only one for him.

Low grunts echoed out as he ran full-speed, dodging the other mish-mash of shifters now out and prowling for their red moon mates. Nothing could stand in his way. Anna was his. As he turned the final corner, he made a final sprint to her home. “Anna,” he growled, calling her out.

  Nothing. No answer.

“Anna,” he growled, deep and low. The solid, oak door vibrated.

Matt’s heart sank to his belly. He couldn’t violate her privacy and break into her home. She’d made her decision. She was probably already gone, letting somebody else chase her through the woods. Matt ached deep inside. The thought of somebody touching his girl killed him. He let out a painful cry into the night, the red moon hanging low in the sky.

  Chapter 8

Anna forced herself to stay put. Every fiber of her being wanted to go to him. The call of mating drove her, and fighting it took more strength than she thought she had. Matt was her world. Matt was the one she loved. Matt was the one she wanted, but Matt had betrayed her. He broke her in ways that she didn’t know she’d ever recover from. She’d never trust him again.

If she gave into her urges…she’d never forgive herself. She deserved a man that would stand by her side, and not wander off every time an attractive woman walks by. She’d always have it in the back of her mind, aching to know what he was doing when he wasn’t with her. How could she live that way? Her body needed him, but her mind…she had to stay in control.

Matt’s cry in the night tore at her. Her nose twitched and her tail sprung out. Slowly she slipped into her fox form. She wanted him. Her body craved him. No. No. Stay strong.

“Anna,” he roared loudly into the night. He knew she was there. He could smell her. His territorial side forced him to stay put. If he couldn’t have her, nobody else would. He’d sit there all night, guarding her. He knew she was being stubborn. She didn’t know the truth. He couldn’t tell her. They were at an impasse.

“Anna, open the door,” he pounded. He needed her. His body was tormenting him. The urge to mate was strong. He wanted to be inside of her…claiming her.

Anna slipped to the front window and snuck a peek outside. No, no, no…she felt the high pitched yelping bark wanting to escape. No. Hold it in. Do not call out…

Matt sensed her and swung his big head in her direction, his long snout leading the way. He gave out a loud grunt and chuffed. His dark eyes longed for her.

Anna’s tail flicked. The urge to run and play was electrifying. The moon was calling to her. She knew Matt was her chosen one. She couldn’t hold him off forever. And yet, she couldn’t give in. Her fox and human collided. Her fox needed to play, to be chased, and to be wild and free. Her human was boxing her in, holding her back.

When she couldn’t take it anymore, she opened the door and shot past him in a jagged run, darting this way and that. The chase was on. Her fox had won this time.

Anna ran fast and hard, wanting him to work for it. If she was going to give in to him, then he damn well better catch her. Her heart raced as her legs moved beneath her.

Matt ran after her, elated that she’d come out to play. She knew there was no denying the fact that she belonged to him. They ran into the night, harder than their usual play. She was making him work for this…he knew. He picked up on the vibe. He’d prove to her that she was his only one.

When he finally caught her in a clearing, he wrapped her up and rolled with her. Together, then shifted to their human form, tangled legs, and arms.

“I need you,” he said, catching his breath. “I’ll always need you.”

Anna looked into his eyes and locked onto him. He was all she ever wanted. And being this close, feeling his arms wrapped around her, everything felt right in her world. But she was afraid. Afraid he’d let her down again. She pushed the thought out of her mind and let the red moon seduce her.

His warm breath was already milking her skin, his lips and teeth nibbling at the side of her neck. Anna tilted her head to the side, letting him in, showing her acceptance. Matt wrapped his hands up through her hair and drew her into a long, wet kiss.

Anna’s head swam with thoughts, but the more they shared steamy, passionate kisses, the more she got lost and let herself fall into the magic of the night. The chemistry between them sizzled and sparked. It didn’t matter what she was feeling at this point, she needed him. She needed to feel his body within her, and nothing would stand in their way.

Matt’s massive cock bulged against her. He couldn’t hide his desire, and having Anna back in his arms after a year was heaven. He wanted to thrust into her, deep and hard, but after such a long wait, he wanted the night to last forever.

Anna’s drew her hand down to feel him, nature taking over. They both sighed. It had been so long. Slowly stroking her hand against him, she drew it back up to his face. “I’ve missed you,” she whispered.

“Oh, Anna,” he said and buried his face in her hair. “You’re my world.”

Pleasure awaited them, but emotions were running so high. They were caught between needing to heal their emotions and the need to mate. It felt backward to mate first, but their animal passions called to them. It was a primal urge, something that overrode their human counterparts on the night of the red moon.

Matt played her body like a finely tuned instrument, knowing all of her weaknesses and secret little spots that made her mew with pleasure. Anna pressed into him, feeling his strength wrapping around her. His mouth, his hands, his body were all she needed right now. She wanted nothing more than his cock inside of her, taking her, and claiming her for his own.

Matt’s throbbing member was enormous and thick, and as he leaned over her, he stretched her lips open as he penetrated Anna. He let out a groan feeling her warm, wet insides accepting him, snug around his shaft.

Anna called into the night, moans slipping from her lips as Matt filled her
. Her entire body tingled with electricity, and as he started to thrust, she met his each movement, shifting her hips against him, grinding.

His mouth found her breasts. He locked onto a nipple, teasing and tempting her. Anna arched her back and groaned. “Harder,” she whispered, wanting to feel him suck her hard.

Matt pulled her breast deeper into his mouth; his lips locking tight, suckling and listening to her moans get louder. His hips pushed faster, his thighs working, his body pumping…his arousal in full force. Faster, harder, deeper…and when the moment came he rolled his head back and let out a fierce roar in the night’s air.

Matt’s seed washed her insides and claimed her, marking her as his own once again. He dropped beside her and drew his fingers down between her legs. Circling her clit, he thrust two fingers deeply inside of her while playing with her nub. Her thighs tightened around his wrist as the orgasm ratcheted through her. He wanted her to cum while his cock was still inside of her, but he couldn’t hold off long enough. It had been a year since he’d last been with his lover. He’d slow down and do it all over again, making her orgasm all night long. He wanted to plant his seed in her over and over again, and seal their fate. They both knew they belonged together, their animal forms knew. Only their human parts got in the way.

Lying in the grass, only their heartbeats made a sound. She had to say it. She hated to ruin the moment, but now that her fox was satiated, her common sense was back. “Matt,” she started, “we need to talk. I don’t know if I can do this again.”

“Anna, it’s not what you think. I promise you, baby. I never cheated. I can’t tell you more and you have to believe in me. I never wanted to hurt you, but I swear to you, I never cheated.” He held her close, afraid if he let go she’d be gone.

  Chapter 9

Anna looked away. She wanted to believe him. Her heart melted. She needed to believe him. It would make life so much easier, but the simple fact was – she didn’t trust him. “Matt, I don’t know what to do. We are obviously made for one another, and yet…”

“Kai claimed her tonight,” he said quickly. “They are a pair. She’ll come clean now. I’m sure of it. She’ll tell you the truth finally.”

She shook her head. “I don’t want to hear anything she has to say, and I’m not going to believe her either way.”

“You have to understand, there are some things I can’t tell you.” He shook his head. “I know you don’t understand.”

“If I’m your fated mate, you should be able to tell me anything. If we’re meant to be together…” she trailed off, frustrated.

“Anna, this is bigger than you and me. I’m bound by duty.” He’d already said too much.

“Is this your job? You’re an officer, I get that, but town inspections and keeping the peace don’t make up for this.” How could he expect her to buy that line?

“I was protecting you,” he growled. “I can’t say anything else. You have to believe in me. You’re all I’ve ever wanted.”

“But you can’t trust me to tell me the truth, and I can’t trust you with my heart.” Her eyes welled up with tears. “There’s nobody I love more, and yet I can’t be with you, not knowing you might stray.”

“I didn’t stray, Anna!” He grunted with anger. “I didn’t betray you. I was honoring you, keeping you safe, and you only see me as some liar.”

“Keeping me safe? From what?” She laughed in disgust. “I’m hardly a threat to society.”

Matt stood and started pacing. “Anna, I can’t tell you anymore. You either accept I’m telling you the truth or you don’t. There’s nothing I can do to turn back time, but look into my eyes, look into my heart, and know I’d never hurt you, and what I did, I had to. My hands were tied; it was the best thing for all of us at the time.”

Anna closed her eyes. She didn’t want to look into his heart. She knew she’d cave. Knew she’d need him. Knew she wanted him like no other. But she was almost more than aware of their past. A year may have passed, but she couldn’t undo what she saw and heard, and Bunny more than cemented it for her. “I’m sorry, Matt.” She got up to leave.

“NO!” He demanded she stay. “We’re not finished here. We aren’t done.”

She looked over her shoulder and walked away.

“Anna, I love you.” A hot tear ran down his cheek.

“And I love you,” she whispered. She kept walking.

“Okay, that’s enough.” Matt ran up behind her and scooped her over his shoulder. “You’re coming with me.”

“Matt, put me down!” Anna twisted and fought against his strong arms locking her in place.

“We have some business to take care of.” He refused to let go, and went back into town with her slung over his shoulder in a fireman’s carry.

  “Matt, I can walk.”

“No,” was all he said. “I’ll put you down when we’re finished.”

“Matt!” Blood was rushing to her face from the angle she was being carried.

He ignored her pleas to be put down.

Anna grunted in frustration. “You can’t just carry me off…”

“Oh really?” Matt teased. “It appears I can and am doing just that.” It was for her own good, whether she wanted to believe it or not. Anna was more stubborn than any woman he’d ever met, he’d give her that.

He ended on Kai’s doorstep. “We’ll wait here until they return.” He sat her down.

“I’m not going to just sit here-” she protested.

“You’ll sit and you’ll stay,” he said firmly. “You’re not leaving my side until we fix this.”

“What does Kai have to do with this?” She was having none of it. She knew somebody saying a few words like ‘he didn’t do it’ wasn’t going to change her world. She knew what she knew and her heart trusted the truth.

He shook his head. “Bunny will be with Kai. He claimed her, and I know my brother. He’ll bring her back here.”

“What makes you so sure she’ll be willing?” She challenged.

“He’ll throw her over his shoulder if he needs to.” He grinned at his fox. “It’s the first time I’ve seen him like that. It was hard and fast, territorial and demanding. He found his chosen one.”

“Look, Matt,” Anna softened her voice. “I know you mean well. Believe me, if I could change my mind, I would. I do love you and I miss you, but the past is the past.” She rested her head on his shoulder. She’d miss him. He was her entire world.

From the distance, the couple emerged, laughing and talking. “Oh hey, guys,” Kai said, sauntering up with Bunny in his arms.

Bunny was positively radiant. She glowed and leaned into her man.

“It ends here and now,” Matt said. “I need you to talk to her. There’s no other way.”

Bunny’s face dropped. “But Matt…” she was serious in a heartbeat. “You know what this means.”

“I have to, Bunny. She’s my life. I won’t be happy if I can’t have Anna in my world.” He shook his head. It would change everything.

Bunny closed her eyes and understood. She nodded. Leaning into Kai, she finally understood. She’d found her chosen one. Everything felt right in her world.

“I’m going to transfer it to Kai,” he said.

“Brother?” Kai shifted his head. “This is huge.”

“It’s time. Anna needs to know.” His shoulders sank. There was no other way. He loved being with the task agency, but he loved Anna more, and the thought of her bearing his cubs overwhelmed him with joy. He needed her more than he needed the force. He’d still be an officer in his day job, but he’d let go of the Covert Operations team.

“Let’s go inside,” Kai said, looking around.

“What is this?” It felt like they were talking in code. Nothing made sense. They were all in on something, and she wanted to know what.

“Anna, by telling you this, you have to understand, there’s no going back for me. I’ll have betrayed my oath. I’m doing this for you.” His stomach knotted
at the idea of walking away, and yet he knew if he didn’t, Anna would never fully understand. “There are things you can’t know and it will always remain that way, but after tonight, you’ll know what truly happened last year. Promise me that if I help you understand, you’ll give me your heart back and we’ll become one again. I want to marry you and have a family. If this is what I have to do…”

“Wait,” she panicked. She felt like she was stealing something away from him. “If whatever this is has become that important to you…”

“You are that important to me.” He looked her square in the eyes.

“Matt, what’s going on?” She arched an eyebrow and looked around at the others.

“I’ll need your badge,” Bunny said.

  Matt swallowed hard. “Right.”

“And you’ll need to declare…” she started.

“I know,” he shot his hand up. “Just give me a moment.” He looked down. He loved being part of the task force. He let out a sigh. “I, Matt Stryker-”

“Stop!” Anna’s stomach twisted and lurched. “Whatever you’re about to do, don’t do it. It’s breaking your heart. I can see it in your body language.”

“Baby, for you I’d bend the world.” He turned to her.

Anna sighed. “I’ll take you at your word.”

“You don’t have to. It’s safer this way if we’re going to have a family.” He pulled his badge from his wallet.

“What is this?” She cocked her head to the side, watching her lover break an oath to Bunny.

Bunny turned to Anna. “We’re part of a secret task force. I can’t tell you anymore, but I promise you, Matt broke up with you to protect you. You can believe me, or you don’t have to, but we’re losing one of the best leaders we have. You damn well better appreciate what he’s doing for you.” She glared at Anna.
