The Pirate’s Redemption Page 13

by Casie, Ruth A.

“Wesley asked me to be captain of his guard. I would live in Glen Kirk.”

Moira stood in front of him, unable to believe her ears.

“You’re not pleased?” Gareth asked as he stood.

“Of course I am. Ye spoke of leaving the sea often.”

“That is only a small reason I agreed to the position. I’ve had enough pirating for a lifetime. You saved me from my wicked ways. I’m redeemed.”

She couldn’t control her burst of laughter, and he laughed with her.

“But to keep me sinless, I need someone who will be with me always. I’m not fully saved unless you will be my wife.”

It took several heartbeats for her to understand his declaration and offer. She stepped into his waiting arms and didn’t care if the clan, MacAlpin, Laird Ewan, or anyone else, saw her. He hugged her close.

He handed her the North Star. “Moira, you are my North Star, my true direction in life. Without you, I am a wanderer. Marry me.”

“I would marry ye if ye still sailed. I will never let ye go. Ye have fulfilled my dream.”

  “Your dream?”

  “Of being a pirate’s wench.”

He gave her his most roguish smile and held her in his arms, then sealed their pact with a kiss.
