Her Christmas Love: A Feel Good Christmas Romance Page 8

Katrina smiled to herself as she continued to feel a pulsating tingle between her legs. Through the corner of her eye, she glanced over at Mickey, who seemed fixated on the traffic ahead. Katrina wasn't entirely sure, but she thought she might have seen a small smile form at the corner of Mickey's lips.

“Well, that was a memorable evening!” Katrina chuckled in an effort to make small talk. God, I hate weird silences.

She felt a little self-conscious and vulnerable, and it was challenging to read Mickey's expression. I hope everything is cool and that she wants to see me again!

Mickey gave her a side-eye look and a small nod. “Yeah, it sure was. I’m glad that you were able to get your car sorted out. I guess you will have to go to the mechanic tomorrow, yes?”

“Yup, that is what they said. I'll cab it straight from work, I suppose.” Katrina looked down and fiddled with the zipper on her purse.

She felt antsy, hoping for more sexy energy from Mickey while still having a few moments together in the car, but Mickey seemed a bit distracted. It was almost as if Mickey forgot that they had just been intimate. Maybe I’m just feeling weird because it's been a while since I’ve been on a date, not to mention having my pussy eaten by a near-stranger! Gosh, I hope she isn't upset that I squirted on her car seat!

Her mind was starting to race with anxiety. Katrina hadn't let herself be that vulnerable in years, so she hoped that Mickey was only being quiet and focused and not disrespectful. As much as she was attracted to studs, she found them frustrating at times. In Katrina's experience, butch women could be hot as hell during sex but also cold and stingy with their emotions. Is it too much to ask for a hot stud that is also sweet?

Katrina decided to give one last try to flirt with Mickey, as they turned down her quiet street. Staring straight ahead, she rested her left hand with the palm open on the middle console that separated her and Mickey. She waited, hoping Mickey would take her hand and hold it.

“Okay, here we are,” Mickey said as the car rolled into Katrina’s driveway. Katrina took her hand away and felt foolish. However, she was still grateful to Mickey for spending the last part of the evening with her.

Mickey turned off the ignition, and Katrina took this as an opportunity to assuage her insecurity. Katrina wanted to make it impossible for Mickey not to acknowledge her, so she twisted her body to look directly at Mickey’s profile.

Clearing her throat, she said, “I can’t thank you enough, Mickey. But since I’ll be seeing you again soon, I can sure make a point to try…” Katrina trailed off in a way that she felt was suggestive and flirtatious.

Mickey looked at Katrina, with a kind yet stoic expression. “It was my pleasure, Katrina. As a gentleperson, I wanted to make sure that you got home safely. And I had a lot of fun on our date.” She then grinned, which made Katrina feel a bit better. “Let’s get together next week if you are free. I’ll call you, okay?”

Katrina shyly smiled and bobbed her head. “Yes, I would love that. I am looking forward to seeing you again.

  Goodnight, Mickey.”

Mickey replied, “Good night Katrina. I am glad that you got home safe.” Katrina hopped out of the vehicle and walked up her driveway.

Huh. Maybe I am just reading too much into this, but Mickey did seem kind of cold. Perhaps she was feeling a bit shy like me? God, you can just never tell with these butches!

Kristin greeted Katrina at the door, looking concerned.

“Hi Katrina, is everything okay? It’s past midnight. I was worried.”

Katrina felt bad for keeping Kristin and Jackson waiting, but she did her best to keep Kristin informed of the situation. Apologetically, she said, “I know, Kristin, I am so sorry. It took about an hour for the tow truck to arrive, and we couldn’t do much until they arrived.” As soon as the words came out of Katrina’s mouth, she wanted to laugh out loud. Yeah, we couldn’t do much except that Mickey went down on me in the front seat of her car, and then I squirted all over the interior!

Kristin looked fussy. “Yes, yes, I know. I definitely appreciated the phone call. Were you with your date the entire time?”

Kristin froze for a split second while removing her shoes. She looked at Kristin and replied, “Yeah, in fact, I was. She waited with me and then drove me home.

Obviously, I couldn’t use my car, Kristin.” Katrina punctuated her statement with a small chuckle, hoping to lighten the vibe.

Kristin moved towards the front closet to grab her jacket. “Well, how nice for you. Jackson went to sleep without any problems, in case you were wondering.”

Katrina couldn’t be sure, but it sounded like Kristin may have been insinuating that Katrina was late due to irresponsibility, rather than a freak occurrence. “Well, of course, I am wondering. But thank you for letting me know.

I am glad to hear that he was behaving.” Katrina dug into her purse and pulled out Kristin’s payment plus an extra twenty-dollar bill. Katrina handed it over to Kristin, “Here you go and a little extra for staying late.”

Kristin took the money from Katrina, counting it in front of her. That’s weird. She has never counted her payment in front of me before. What does she think I am going to do?

  Short her the money?

Satisfied with the payment, Kristin said, “Awesome, thanks, Katrina. I do appreciate the extra cash as well. I have a super early morning, and since I stayed later than I thought I would have to, I will need to take a cab to work tomorrow morning.” Slipping on her jacket, she then asked,

“You still need me for Wednesday night while you are at Minx?”

Katrina nodded carefully. The more she spoke to Kristin, the more she sensed some sass from her, but Katrina wanted to tread lightly. Kristin was a good babysitter to Jackson, and she lived across the street. Jackson like Kristin, and she was dependable. But Katrina was not pleased with how passive-aggressive Kristin was behaving.

Maybe it’s just an off night, and she is right; it is late. I’ll

let it slide for now. Hopefully, she can adjust her attitude for when she comes over on Wednesday.

After Kristin left, Katrina tip-toed into Jackson’s room.

She leaned over his sleeping body and planted a kiss on his soft cheek. My angel, you are the love of my life. She knew how excited he was for Christmas, and she was looking forward to making it an extra special holiday for him.

Whatever shade Kristin wanted to throw tonight, Katrina knew that it couldn’t let it bother her too much; she needed to consider Jackson’s care first.

A thought then occurred to Katrina. Oh boy! I hope she isn’t turning on me because she knows I am gay. Kristin then pushed the idea out of her mind. No, no, there is no way. She doesn’t seem homophobic at all. Calm down, Katrina, she was probably just annoyed that you were late.

Just leave it and go to bed.

Katrina knew that she had an anxious mind, and it had only gotten worse as she became a parent. But for the sake of her sanity, Katrina was trying to learn how to stay in the moment and keep things in perspective. As she prepared for bed, she spoke to her subconscious self. Katrina, the date with Mickey went well. Don’t worry, she likes you, and you will see her again soon! And don’t worry about Kristin.

Everything is fine, and most importantly, Jackson is fine.

As Katrina drifted off to sleep, she thought about Mickey in the car and how she took control of Katrina’s body. She thought about Mickey’s soft caresses and strong tongue.

Katrina had wanted to pleasure Mickey back, and while she was a bit frustrated that she wasn’t able to, she was looking forward to the time when she could seduce Mickey herself and taste her sweet flesh.

One thing was for sure, Katrina was definitely smitten, and it felt good to be reminded that she was a hot-blooded woman with sexual desires in addition to also being a mother. She was excited that Mickey had awoken that

within her, and now, there was no going back—she wanted more.

  LATER THAT WEEK, Katrina found
herself eavesdropping on a conversation that was happening between two of the dancers at Minx. It was Wednesday evening, and Katrina was setting up behind the bar to prepare for her shift to begin.

Tyra and Candy leaned their sinewy bodies on the bartop, poised to approach the male clientele when the club opened. But before they began their nightly hustle, they spoke in hushed tones; only Katrina could hear what was being said.

“No, I am serious! There is a lesbian sex club in L.A.

called Lix. Isn't that a great name?” Tyra exclaimed to Candy.

Katrina's gaydar was on high alert as she sensed an intimate connection between the two women. With her eyes focused on wiping down the bottles of alcohol, she continued to tune her ears into what was being said.

Candy replied, “We should go sometime! Can you imagine how hot that would be?” Katrina saw Candy discreetly caress Tyra's arm. Tyra smiled back at Candy, as the two continued to vibe. “Yeah, maybe we could ask a few of the girls to come with us. Like, we could make it into a

'staff outing,' and invite the other queer women here to join us.”

Candy whispered back at Tyra. “Well, I know that Queenie would want to go. Who else do you think would be into it?”

Tyra replied, “Hmmm, I’m not sure. Who else do we know that is queer that works here?” Tyra and Candy continued to scheme while Katrina held her tongue. Damn!

I wish I could say something, but I'm not sure how Mickey would feel seeing me there. Maybe she would think I was trying to keep an eye on her or something? Perhaps I could bring up the idea on our next date and see what she says?

Katrina continued to polish the fixtures around her station while trying to mind her own business when Queenie sauntered over to Tyra and Candy. Great, so much for trying to be invisible! Katrina knew that Queenie had her sights fixated on her, and Katrina was doing her best to remain amicable and chill while also trying to sidestep her advances.

“What are you two lovebirds whispering about over here?” Queenie cackled at her own joke, making her presence known. Tyra and Candy looked over and welcomed Queenie into the fold.

“Well, hey, girl! We were actually just talking about visiting this club called Lix. Have you heard of it before?”

  Tyra asked.

“Heard of it? Girl, of course, I have! I haven't been yet, though. Why, are you planning a trip there or something?”

  Queenie inquired.

Candy answered, looking at Tyra. “Yeah, actually we are.

We think it would be fun to play in a place that accepts us, where we could be ourselves.” Candy pointed to Tyra and then herself. “It's one thing for us to put on a lesbian striptease show to entertain the men here, but we want to do something that is just for us as a couple.”

“Oooh, so you all a couple now, huh?” Queenie playfully mocked Tyra and Candy. Katrina noticed that about Queenie. She possessed this strange ability to be friendly and nasty at the same time.

Katrina sometimes wondered what that was all about, whether Queenie was just hiding some deep-rooted insecurity or instead Queenie was naturally a mean-spirited person. Either way, Katrina knew to watch her back around this venomous femme.

Tyra looked knowingly at Queenie. “You know we are, Queenie. Whatever happened between you and me when we were drunk last year was just a one-off. You even said it yourself. Besides, I told Candy about the whole thing.”

Candy nodded in agreement, coming to Tyra's defense.

“That's right, Queenie. Tyra already told me that you two had hooked up, and guess what, I still love her.” Candy threw a protective arm around Tyra, in a display of affection.

Queenie sucked in her teeth. “Yeah, okay. That's cool.

Y'all look super cute with each other. I ain't gonna mess with that.” Queenie put her hands on her hips and looked at the couple, softening in her superiority. “But I am intrigued about this little field trip to Lix. Tell me more!”

Candy lowered her voice. “We thought it would be fun to get together the queer women that work here and go as a group. You want in?”

Queenie exclaimed, “Yes, definitely! Consider this my RSVP. Who else is going to come?”

Candy and Tyra looked at one another. “Um, well, us two, obviously. We actually haven't invited anyone else yet.”

Candy interjected, “Yeah, we literally just started talking about it tonight. Any ideas of who else we should invite?”

Katrina's heart sank just as Queenie called out in her direction. “Hey, Katrina! You want in on this?”

Katrina turned around to look at the trio, feigning ignorance. “Hi, everyone! What's going on? What are you all talking about?” she asked in a chipper tone.

Queenie leaned her long body over the countertop so far that Katrina was worried she might hop over. “These two are planning a trip to Lix. You know, the women' s-only sex club?” Queenie then grinned like a Cheshire cat. “I know you would be into that. Wanna join us?” Queenie then turned to Tyra and Candy in a knowing voice, “Don't worry, Katrina is one of us!”

Tyra and Candy warmly smiled at Katrina and gave her a small wave. Candy exclaimed, “Oh, that's cool to know!

Sure, Katrina. Come out with us. It would be nice to get to know you a little bit more.” Tyra then chimed in, “Yeah, you should come!” Tyra turned to ask Candy, “I think we are going on Sunday, right?” Candy nodded in the affirmative.

Katrina's mind started to race. She needed to think of an excuse but in a way that wouldn't offend the group. She appreciated the invite, but she wasn't sure how to deal with the situation yet, and she definitely wasn't ready to reveal that she had gone on a date with the General Manager.

“Oh, I would love to, but I am pretty sure I am working on Sunday,” Katrina replied, peppering her tone with enhanced disappointment. “Thanks so much for the invite, though!”

But Queenie wasn’t about to let Katrina off the hook that easily. “Don’t worry, girl. I’ll talk to Jim. He has a soft spot for me, and if I ask him for a teeny-tiny favor, he will change the schedule and switch your shift.”

Katrina’s eyes widened as she froze. “Um, oh, I-I don’t know. I am new here, and I don’t want to cause any inconvenience to anyone. It’s fine, Queenie, but thank you.

You guys go and have fun,” Katrina said lightly, keeping her voice both neutral and decisive.

“Katrina, I got this, don’t worry. Trust me; it’s no bother.

You are coming with us. It’s decided.” Queenie exclaimed, looking pleased with herself. “You can return the favor to me another time, okay?” She winked at Katrina, who suddenly felt nervous. Gosh, what the heck have I gotten myself into? I need to talk to Mickey about this tomorrow on our date.

Katrina gave Queenie, Tyra, and Candy a wane smile, feeling somewhat helpless. “Um, okay. Well, I guess it’s decided. Thanks, Queenie, I appreciate it.”

As Katrina was trying to figure out a way out of the outing, the doors to Minx opened. A line of gentlemen

  walked through the door.

Queenie exclaimed, “Showtime, ladies! And Katrina, I will catch up with you later!” The trio sauntered towards the crowd as the music blared through the speakers.

Katrina kept her eyes focused on the guests, but her insides were churning with a mixture of anxiety and excitement. I suppose it could be fun. I am pretty curious about that place!

Mickey and Chelsea were doing the rounds together at Lix, ensuring the club was all set up and ready to go. Tonight was Wednesday, and they anticipated a smaller crowd, but Mickey didn't mind. It was a nice change from the usual hectic weekends, plus it gave Mickey time to work on administrative duties during slower periods in the evening. But for now, she wanted to catch up with Chelsea to share what happened on her date with Katrina.

“Oh my god, that is so hot!” Chelsea exclaimed. “So, what happened after the tow truck arrived?”

Mickey shrugged and coyly smiled. “Not much after that. I drove her home while her car
was getting towed to the body shop.”

Chelsea gave Mickey a playful swat on the arm. “You are so smooth, Mickey. Seriously? You played Gregory Isaacs in the car? God, what a seductress you are!” Chelsea chuckled.

Mickey replied, “Yep, I mean, it wasn't planned or anything. I was listening to it prior to arriving at the restaurant, so it was more of a coincidence.”

Chelsea rolled her eyes and remarked sarcastically,

“Okay, Mickey, sure, whatever you say. So, are you going

  out with her again?”

“Yup, tomorrow night. I invited her over for dinner. I thought I would make us dinner. Katrina doesn't like spicy food, so I figured I would make ackee and saltfish. It's my specialty!” Mickey gave Katrina a wink.

“And when am I going to meet her? You promised you would bring her here at some point,” Chelsea reminded Mickey. “I get that you don't want everyone in your relationship business, but I was the one who helped you find this woman. I am just curious as hell!”

Mickey and Chelsea strolled out to the patio garden to check on the state of the outdoor pool. In December and throughout the winter, the swimming pool wasn't used as much, but the guests who visited Lix still enjoyed sitting outside when the weather was balmy enough.

“Say, how are things coming along for the Christmas Eve bash? Is the planning almost complete?” Mickey asked Chelsea.

“Yes, I’ve booked the DJ, and I also wanted to include some sexy stage entertainment. I am thinking about hiring that queer burlesque troupe Puss N' Pasties. I hear they have a killer winter angel-themed act, which would be perfect for the event,” Chelsea answered. “Are you going to play our Santa Clause again?”

Mickey inwardly groaned. For the last nine years, Mickey had dressed up as Santa Clause for the annual Christmas Eve party. Women would sit on Mickey's knee and divulge their secret fantasies, and for $5, a photographer would take their picture. Proceeds went to a women's shelter in Central Los Angeles.
