“Tell them that,” I said.
“Get in.” He picked Rena up and helped me up.
“Where are we going?” I asked as I wiped my tears and watched him buckle Rena into her car seat. Then he opened the passenger door for me.
“You said to tell them that. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do.” He shut my door and got in. “Where to?”
“It’s not far, let me put the address into your phone,” I said.
He handed me his phone and I put the address in.
“This is unacceptable. They turn their back on you for what your mother did?”
“I don’t think you going over here will change their minds on not liking me.”
“Where are we going?”
“The address I put into your phone is my grandmother’s house. It’s daytime, so everyone will be there drinking and smoking. That’s an everyday thing for them,” I confessed.
I dreaded this visit. All of my uncles and aunties were nothing but money hungry crack heads. And their kids, my cousins, weren’t any better. That’s who they got their drugs from. When my mother died, she didn’t have much, but my grandmother and grandfather did. No one gave me anything when all of the money came back from insurance and the will. Not a fucking penny. I ended up having to live with Red and her family. That’s when I started to save every single dime I made. I knew I had to get away from Dallas if I wanted to be happy. It held too many bad memories.
“Is this it?” Gee asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“This is it,” I said as I took a deep breath and prepared myself for this torture. But Gee had to see this to understand who I was and where I came from.
I waited in the car as Gee walked around and got Rena out. Then he opened my door. For a minute, I just stood there and shook my head. Nothing had changed. My boy cousins were sitting on the porch shooting dice. My girl cousins were in their cars smoking, and now looking at Gee. My aunt came to the door and rolled her eyes when she saw that it was me.
“Come on,” Gee said as he grabbed my hand and led me inside. Rena was still in his arms. Then he reached down and grabbed my hand as we walked up the porch steps.
“Hi, Auntie Shirley,” I said as we stepped inside. She was sitting on the couch smoking a cigarette with my other aunt. My uncle Clarence was at the living room table nodding off.
“I don’t know why ya ass over here. Ain’t no more money left. It’s all gone,” she said.
“Let’s just go,” I said, but Gee pulled me back. He looked at my auntie like she was the scum of the earth.
“She didn’t come for money. In fact, she has more money than anybody on this entire block times ten. She came to see her family while we were in town from New York,” Gee said.
“And who are you?” my other aunt asked.
“I’m her husband. That’s who I am. I told her to come here and have a word with her so called family, but now I see why she left.”
“That’s a nice watch you got on, blood,” my cousin Derrick said as he walked up on Gee.
“Yeah, I know.”
“It’ll look better on me,” my cousin said.
“Yeah, but not if I chop off your fucking arm and throw it in a trash bag,” Gee said as he lifted his shirt to show Derrick that he was strapped. How he got that past airport security, I don’t know.
Derrick laughed and backed up. “I see ya, homie.”
“Derrick, go away and leave this handsome man alone,” my cousin, Draya, said as she walked up and introduced herself to Gee.
Draya was always the prettiest one out of all the cousins. She was mixed, but no one knew with what because she had never met her dad. Her long and silky hair with her beautiful light complexion spoke for itself. She was simply gorgeous, but it ended there. All she did was fuck with all the local hustlers and sack chase.
“Nice to meet you too,” Gee said as he turned his attention back to me.
“Look at Rena. She’s so big now,” Draya said as she reached for Rena, but Rena frowned and held onto Gee real tight.
“So how you been?” Aunt Shirley asked.
“I’m fine. Just maintaining. How about you and everyone else?” I asked.
“You trying to be funny?” she snapped back.
“No, I’m just asking a qu—”
“Let’s go,” Gee said as he grabbed my arm and led me out the door.
“Don’t even know why she brought her broke ass here anyway,” I heard my auntie say.
“Wait,” Draya said as she followed us to the car.
“What?” I asked.
Gee began to buckle Rena up into her car seat.
“Take my number. Maybe we can catch up while you’re in town,” she said to me, but her eyes were steadily on Gee.
“Get in the car,” Gee said when he finished getting Rena together.
“I have to go,” I said while Gee pulled my door open and let me inside.
He shut the door and got in without even giving Draya a second look. I could tell it fucked with her self esteem. It was written all over her face as she rolled her eyes and walked back to the car where my other cousins were smoking blunts.
“Do you have anyone that you want to see? What about your dad? Or Rena’s dad?” Gee asked.
“My dad died while my mom was pregnant with me. Rena’s dad is in prison.”
“Okay, so do you have anyone that you would like to see?” Gee asked. He was clearly aggravated. We were still sitting in front of the house.
“If this is too much for you, Gee, I understand. You can go and find another woman without so many problems. I won’t be mad. I promise.”
“Why would you say that?” He looked over at me with dark eyes.
“You’re upset, and I know it’s because you really don’t want to be dealing with all of this.”
“No, I’m mad at how those people just treated you like you were nothing. As if you haven’t been through enough. That’s not how family is supposed to be. I’ve never seen anything like it,” he said as he started the engine.
“So where are we going now? I have no reason to here anymore,” I said.
“Good because we’re going right back to the airport.”
“Back to NYC?” I asked.
“No. Next stop is Haiti. You have to meet my family now. I want to show you how a real family is supposed to treat one another.”
Chapter Twenty-Seven
Yazz
“You might as well just move over here, nigga, since you don’t wanna go home,” Red said as she rolled over and climbed on top of me.
“Woman, what are you talking about? I only been here since yesterday,” I said as she straddled me and slid my morning wood inside her wet pussy.
I put my hands on both her breasts and massaged them. Watching the way her eyes rolled back made me feel like the man.
“I love this shit,” Red moaned as she rode my dick like we were on a honeymoon. This wasn’t the first time she had gotten it, but every time was like the first time. We fucked several times a day.
“Hurry up. We can’t be late to our session,” I said as she sped her pace. I now had one hand on her breast and the other behind my head… just watching her beautiful face.
“Okay,” she moaned.
As I watched her float in ecstasy, my phone began to ring. I reached over on the nightstand and looked at the number. It was Gee.
“My brother, what’s going on?” I asked.
“Nigga, is that Red moaning like that?” he asked.
“Yeah. What’s going on. What do you want?”
“My flight is about to leave to Haiti, so my phone will be off most of the day. I didn’t want you worry about me.”
“What? Y’all just landed in Dallas this morning.”
“I’ll tell you about that bullshit later. But I will be back in a few days.”
“Bet,” I said as I hung up.
“I’m ’bout to cum,” Red moaned.
“Go ahead,” I said as she
erupted and covered my dick with her lava.
“Did you cum?” she asked as she hopped off the bed and walked into her bathroom.
“Nah. I will later though. Get dressed.”
“Let’s take a shower together,” she said as she turned the water on and adjusted the temperature.
“Here I come,” I said, but Gee was calling right back. “Yeah?”
“I thought we needed to choose some better bitches? You’ve been fucking that woman since the day she signed that contract, boy.”
“And you can just mind your business.” I laughed as I removed my clothes and walked into the bathroom. My dick got hard all over again as I watched Red shower.
“Just remember this is business. And that’s it.”
“I know. That’s why I’m working on my baby. Bye.”
I hung up in his face and got in the shower with her. Standing behind her, I let my hands caress her soft body as she leaned her head back on my chest and let the water run all down her body. Her soft hands then reached back and gently tugged on my dreadlocks.
I made it my business not to mention the word love again until she did. She would surely fall in love with me, and I would make sure she did. Red acted too much like a man, and I didn’t like it. She was just like me. How could a woman be fucking me and not have no type of feelings? I wasn’t having it. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make her fall for me because I genuinely wanted to or to prove to her that she wasn’t as hard as she thought. I planned to break her down to her weakest core.
“Come here,” I whispered. She was so short that I had to bend down just to nibble on her ear.
She turned toward me then I picked her up. Pushing her against the wall, I slid my dick inside. Immediately, she let out a small cry and frowned.
“You got some bomb ass dick. I swear on my mama,” she moaned as she kissed my lips.
I wrapped my strong hands around her waist and began to move her body up and down on my dick. The way her breasts were bouncing up and down made me feel like cuming but I didn’t want to cum too fast.
“Damn, girl,” I grunted when I looked down and saw that she had already came. My dick had her slime all over it.
“You do that to me,” she moaned, with her eyes still closed.
Knowing that we didn’t have long, I got my rocks off and put her back down so we could really shower and get dressed.
“Come on,” I said as I helped her out of the shower and gave her a towel. “You hungry?” I asked.
“I’m always hungry,” she said as she dabbled some kind of cream on her face.
It didn’t take long for us to get dressed. In fact, it took less than thirty minutes and we were on our way to our session. “What you want to eat?” I asked as I pulled my Infiniti out onto the main street.
“Just stop at one of the closest donut shops,” she said as she yawned.
“You tired?”
“You kept me up all night, talking my damn ear off,” she said as she went through her phone.
“And you kept me up all night, waking me up for sex every hour. I’m starting to feel like that’s the only reason you like me,” I said in a jokingly way.
“Like you? You think I like you?” she asked.
“I mean… yeah.”
“We keep having the same conversations over and over. I keep telling you that I like your dick, not you.”
“Damn, what’s wrong with me?”
“It’s business, remember? I don’t want you falling in love and fucking up my money.”
“How will that happen?” I asked.
“What?”
“Me fucking up your money. How?”
“Shit, you might catch me with one of my future lil’ dips and cancel our contract. Then I’ll be back broke again, all because you fell in love. Not doing it. Nope.”
“Regardless of how I feel about you, that contract isn’t getting cancelled.”
“And what about the dick? If you catch me out with one of my boo things, will you stop fucking me?”
“Never that. I’m too playa for all of that.”
“Well, good, I am too. There go a donut shop right there,” she said as she pointed to a shop that we were approaching.
After ordering our food, we ate on the way to the office to meet up with Ms. Lacey. When I first saw her, I laughed on the inside. She was white, but built like a black woman. And she didn’t smile much. We filled out a questionnaire and then started the session.
“So have you met your fiancées mother?” Lacey asked me.
“Nah, not yet. Her mother lives in Texas and they’re not really on good terms right now,” I answered.
Red and I always ended up talking after sex, and she was always saying how she wished she and her mother had a better relationship. Her mother didn’t agree with her coming here in the first place.
“I see. Do you know her whole name?”
“Of course. Mocha Shack. That’s an ugly ass name by the way,” I said as I looked over at Red, who was in her phone. “Damn, can you get off that phone just for thirty minutes? Every time I look up, you’re on it,” I said.
“Remember what we talked about. When you start paying my bill, you can justify how I handle this phone.”
“So, I guess you got short term memory loss? You looking at a brand new phone, woman. I just added you to my plan.”
“Damn, that’s right. You sure did,” she said as she put her phone away in her purse.
“Are you two done?” Lacey asked with a smile on her face.
“Yes, ma’am.”
“So, Mocha. Do you know his whole name?”
“Yazmine,” she responded dryly.
“Okaaay,” Lacey said at that awkward and dry ass response.
“That’s just how she is. Sorry,” I said.
“So you two seem to have been spending some time together. I can see the chemistry,” Lacey said as she wrote in her notebook.
“Yeah, we really have. And he wrecks my damn nerves. Sorry for cursing,” Red said.
“It’s fine. I know how it is. Sometimes I pray that my husband is working late,” Lacey joked.
“So, I will tell you two like I told Lourdy and Diamond…” She began to go on and on about how she did her research, how she knew it was a fake ordeal and so on and so on. “But I must say, you two seem to like each other more than Diamond and Lourdy. Seems like you two actually have some kind of personal relationship.”
“We do,” Red said.
“I planned to tell you two to come back in two weeks, but there will be no need. Come back in two days. I will try to get this out of the way as soon as possible.”
“Thank you,” Red said as we all stood to leave.
“See you guys in two days,” she said as we exited the office.
I watched Red as her ass jiggled in her sundress. She walked in front of me onto the elevator. I slowly walked in behind her and looked her up and down.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“I really get on your nerves?” I asked.
“Boy, you know I was just fucking around.”
I pressed the red button to stop the elevator. “Turn around,” I said as I unbuckled my jeans.
“What?” she asked as she played with her braids.
“Turn around.”
“Boy, it can wait until we get—”
“Do it now,” I said as I used my hand to guide her to face the wall. She then lifted her dress and grabbed her ankles. She didn’t have on any panties, just the way I liked it.
“Ooooh,” she moaned as I slid inside her.
I fucked her and made her cum two times in two minutes. Not because I was horny, but to show her that at any given moment, I could have my way with her if I wanted. And soon, I would rule her ass.
Chapter Twenty-Eight
Patricia
“Whew, it’s hot as hell out here today. How long do we have ’til we can go?” I asked as we sat inside the box of our stand.
Yesterday,
we made $1200 dollars selling the stolen goods and I was satisfied. Even though we had to split it, it was okay money. And this wouldn’t be an everyday thing because we wouldn’t have goods every day. But even if we did this a few times a week, it would be enough to pay my rent and maybe get my own car and be able to afford the payments that came with it.
“My goal today is at least what we made yesterday or more. But it’s kinda slow, so I don’t know.” She was on her phone looking at Queen Latifah videos .
I opened my bottle of water and downed it in one gulp. “I’m about to go to the Starbucks across the street. I’ll be back,” I said as I grabbed my money.
That Raspberry Lemonade was about to hit the spot. I looked both ways before crossing the street and ran for it. Cars were blowing their horns like crazy, but fuck them. Horns were always blowing in this city
“Stupid, bitch!” someone yelled as I finally made it across the street, but oh fucking well. I opened the door and walked inside. Should have known the line was about to be long
As I waited, my phone began to ring. It was Skata. “What?” I answered.
“Let me find out you went over there to have a lunch date.”
“Bitch, please. With who?”
“Davinchi. Ain’t that why he outside looking through the glass?” she asked.
I turned around, and sure enough, he was standing there with one hand over his forehead as he peeped inside through the glass. This nigga had been acting mad weird. I gave up my spot in line so he could see me. I was almost positive that he was looking for me.
“Let me call you back,” I said to Skata then I hung up.
“Looking for me?” I mouthed to him through the glass. Surprisingly, it didn’t look like he was looking for me because he kept staring around the place. Finally, he walked in.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
“Remember? I told you that Skata and I were selling some purses and shit,” I said as I watched him dart his eyes everywhere but over to me. “You look nice,” I said.
He did. He had on a v-neck with the matching colored pants and shoes. His hair was always fresh. It was lined up with the sponge curls at the top.
“You too. I’ll see you later,” he said as he walked out the store, picking up his phone.
