“You are my bride. I do not want you put in that kind of danger. You will not pilot again,” he said, turning to leave the chambers.
Sophia was hit hard with mixed feelings.
She had come to space for the opportunity to pilot a spaceship. And now her mate was telling her that she could never pilot again. She wouldn't stand for it. But then she looked down at Hectosh and knew that she could not compromise his safety and security.
Her first duty was as his mother. And she would never back down on that. She only wished that her mate could see that she was valuable for more than just her ability to produce young. She had a mind; she had abilities and talents. And she refused to waste them.
She walked over to the crib and put Hectosh down for a nap. With a melancholy weight on her shoulders, she paced the chambers and looked out the windows at the dark walls of the asteroid she'd been staring at for the last week. Things had to get better. They had to. She couldn't spend her life with a man who refused to see her for who she was.
Chapter 9
Elait left his bride in his bedchamber, his mind reeling and his heart was pounding. He could barely keep himself from showing the obvious signs of arousal. His mating impulse was upon him, more strongly than he had ever felt. He would not be able to hold out much longer.
But first, he had to address his crew and the crew of the Breaking Dawn. Allowing Sophia to pilot the ship had been a mistake and he was going to get to the bottom of this fiasco. He went into the meeting room where the crews were assembled. He stood above the table with his hands on his hips and looked sternly at the pilot of the Breaking Dawn.
“I've heard from my mate that she was piloting the ship when the Mulgor attacked,” he said flatly.
The pilot stiffened and frowned, knowing that he had been found out.
“She saved us,” the man blurted out.
“That's what she claims,” Elait said. “But how could a human woman possibly out-pilot a Draconian?”
“She has fast reflexes and a sharp mind. She has the spontaneity of a human.”
“She is a female. She must be protected.”
“Human women are different from Draconian women,” medic Hanno stated. “They have a different culture. Especially now. Human women rival human men in their abilities.”
Elait mused over this for several moments. It would make sense in a species not in danger of extinction for their women not to be as pampered as Draconian women were.
That would mean that human women would take on other roles besides wife and mother. It made sense, but it still grated at his brain. All he wanted was to protect his mate and his son. And everyone seemed to be attempting to prevent him from doing that. Even her.
“I will decide on the appropriate punishment for your endangerment of my mate,” Elait said.
He turned on his heel and left the meeting room, not wanting to say another word to the pilot who had endangered his bride. He stood outside the door to his chambers, knowing that he would need to take her and claim her before the end of the day.
The Slipstream had to power back up after the excursion of getting past the Mulgor. There was time for what needed to take place.
His inner dragon would not hold back any longer. The door slid open and he walked through, finding the woman sitting alone on a couch facing the darkened windows. She stood and turned to him, her face dark and disappointed. The last thing he’d wanted was to begin their courtship this way. She was angry at him. But it could not be helped. His mate could not put herself in danger again.
“I hope you didn't chew the pilot's head off,” she said, crossing her arms.
“I thought about it. But he currently still has a head,” Elait said flatly.
She snorted and turned away, sitting back down onto the couch. His inner dragon growled inside his mind, telling him he must claim the woman now. He had waited a year to meet her, suppressing his need all that time. It was as if every moment that he had worked to hold back the thrall was now accumulating in a burst of need and insanity.
He had to retain control of himself or he would hurt his bride with the sheer force of his lust. He came around the side of the couch and sat beside her, keeping some space between them for her radiating anger to inhabit.
She turned to him with a frown, her arms crossed over her ample bosom. She was beautiful and petite, exactly what he had imagined in the moments when he allowed his mind to wander to her. He could smell the scent of her body and it was driving him mad.
“I don't understand why you’re being such a jerk,” she said.
“I don't know this word, jerk.”
“It means asshole.”
He looked at her with confusion in his face. She groaned and sighed.
“Whether I am an asshole or not, the fact remains that we must begin the mating ritual right now.”
“I don't know how you expect me to mate with you. The only reason I even agreed to be your mate was so that I could someday pilot a spaceship. And now you're telling me that the one person who allowed me to fulfill my dreams is going to be punished for it. I'm sorry, but I just don't like you very much right now.”
“There is no time for such trivialities.”
“I see, so you think that my passions and dreams are trivial?”
“I'm saying this argument is trivial. If we do not begin the mating ritual, I will lose my mind. Then we will not be able to return to Galaton. You and your child will be captured by the Mulgor and you will both die. That is why this argument is trivial.”
She looked at him wide-eyed and let out a sigh. He could tell that she knew that he was right.
“So, how do we start the mating ritual?”
“You should be aware of such things,” he said.
“I was just making small talk. I'm a little nervous. I've had your baby but I don't even know you.”
“It is true. We have barely communicated.”
“So are we supposed to just get naked and get nasty?”
“I do not believe the mating ritual is nasty, but I would prefer that you remove your clothes, yes.”
She stood with a sexy little groan and rolled her adorable brown eyes. The sight of her irreverence was somehow subtly arousing and he didn't dislike it.
Something about her spirit turned him on more than he would've expected. Draconian women were always subordinate, but this woman definitely was not. He liked everything about her. For a moment, he let his mind drift to the concept of allowing her to pilot the ship. Assuming her piloting put her in danger was to assume she could not do it safely. He tapped his lip, but brushed the thought aside for now.
In that moment, what he needed was to see her naked flesh and to feel it under his big hands. She stood before him in a traditional Draconian gown.
His bride hooked her finger inside the neckline of the garment and began to slowly pull it down over her shoulders. He sat wide-eyed, staring at her as she revealed her full breasts, her round stomach, and her curvaceous hips. She stood before him, tan-skinned and beautiful. His erection throbbed between his legs. He stood and gathered her in his arms, carrying her through his chambers and into the bedroom.
Chapter 10
Sophia was angry but all she wanted to do was relent. She'd been waiting for Elait for so long and the feeling of his strong arms around her was too much to resist. She wanted this; she wanted him. He stood above her and flicked the spot on his neck that made his uniform retract, leaving him naked. She shivered as she looked up at him.
His taut bluish skin glistened in the pale light of the room. His impossibly thick erection stood like a tree trunk above her and she shuddered at the thought of it entering her tiny body. He lowered himself onto the bed and slid in beside her.
When their lips met for the first time and Elait cupped her breast in his hand, Sophia felt herself gush with desire for her mate.
She reached down and grasped his manhood with her tiny hand. Her grip couldn’t quite fit around his width, but she stroked
him up and down nonetheless. The feel of him in her hand was beyond exciting. And she felt herself so wet with need. She couldn't hold back her desire any longer.
Elait kissed her deeply, their tongues dancing as their desire built. He kissed her cheeks and her neck. He caressed her sopping wet sex and rubbed her clit with his fingers. As he built her towards release, he dipped his thick fingers inside her, thrusting in and out in a deliriously arousing motion. He brushed over her inner arousal as he twirled his thumb on her tight bud.
Elait inched down her body, kissing her stomach and thighs before he licked his thick tongue up over her clit. His fingers thrust in and out of her as his tongue twirled on her bud. She could barely stand it a second longer. He sucked her clit into his mouth and flicked it with his tongue.
Sophia’s head burst with light behind her eyes as her body erupted in a shocking climax. She screamed, calling out as she arched her back. Her entire body went rigid from the electric pulses throbbing through her.
Elait didn’t stop. He continued fucking her with his fingers. In and out he pumped, in a thrusting rhythm. He sucked her clit and made her come again and again. She grew dripping wet, sinking further and further into complete adoration of her mate.
When he finally let her come down, he crawled over her body and looked into her eyes.
Sophia panted and her heart thumped in her chest. She wrapped her arms around Elait’s shoulders and kissed him, tasting the tang of her body on his lips. She adored him. She wanted him. She would do anything for him. Part of her was even willing to give up her dreams just to be close to him. In that moment she would have. Nothing else could ever fill her with as much pleasure as Elait could.
He kissed her cheek and began to stroke himself. Even after coming half a dozen times from his touch, the sight and the sound of him jerking his cock made her shudder with excitement.
The sound of smacking filled the room, faster and faster, as he thrust his fist up and down over his impossibly thick cock.
She rolled up on her knees, moving her mouth toward the head of his cock. She wanted to taste him. She wanted to drink him in. Tasting his seed would bring her so much closer to being ready to accept his shaft inside her. She needed him inside her. She licked her tongue up the head of his cock and looked up into his stormy blue eyes.
He towered over her on his knees, his eyes telling her how much he relished the sight of her below him. He put his hands in her hair and gripped. Her mouth could never take in his huge shaft but she put her lips around the opening nonetheless. She licked back and forth over his slit.
Elait groaned, stroking himself at an erratic, frenzied pace. He grunted above her and squeezed her hair in his big hand. His seed burst from his cock and filled her waiting mouth. It tasted bittersweet and delicious. She drank it down, gulping every last drop. She ran her tongue up and down his shaft, cleaning up every last bit of seed.
He groaned and then pulled her down onto the bed into his arms. Their hearts pounded and they panted together, their bodies sweaty and tangled in the sheets. She felt so at home and so at peace in that moment. It was easy to forget where they were, trapped in an asteroid.
This feeling was what she’d been waiting for all along. She ran her hand over his muscled chest and gazed up into his eyes as he looked down at her. He cupped her cheek and kissed her forehead.
“You will be ready soon,” he whispered.
“I need you so badly,” she said.
“You are my life,” he said, leaning back onto the pillow.
He stared up at the ceiling and Sophia crawled closer to him, looking at his strong profile. She leaned on his shoulder and rested her chin on his arm.
“I can feel you inside me,” she said. “Not your body, but your heart.”
“The bond is strong between us,” he muttered sleepily.
“Then that must mean you understand why I need to fly.”
He sat up and they looked at each other intently for several long moments. His shoulders slumped and he looked away, gritting his teeth.
“I couldn't imagine allowing you to do it, my beloved. But part of me is beginning to understand why it is so important to you.”
“That's a start,” she said.
“We won't be able to leave here until the cloaking device has re-powered. It could take at least twenty-four hours.”
“And we will have all of that time to spend together in bed,” she said.
“Then let us make the best use of our time.”
Chapter 11
After Elait and Sophia had washed and dressed, they went back into the nursery when little Hectosh woke from his nap. Sophia pulled him out of his crib and carried him into the living room where her dear mate was seated. She sat beside him and handed him the baby, who he held awkwardly in his big arms.
“I'll give you a bottle and you can feed him,” she said with a smile as she stood and walked across the room to the kitchen.
She programed the food replicator to create a bottle of Draconian formula, and when the bottle came out of the dispenser, Sophia picked it up and took it back across the room to her waiting mate and baby. She sat beside Elait and handed him the bottle.
“How do I do this?” he asked.
“Like this,” she said, tilting the bottle so that Hectosh could get a hold of the nipple. Her baby had grown so much in the last two months.
“He's getting big,” Elait said, as if reading her mind.
“He is,” Sophia said, happy that he had noticed the change.
“He has your eyes,” Elait said.
“He has your everything else,” Sophia said with a giggle.
They sat together for several hours. Elait fed their son and he told Sophia more about his planet. She could see the strength and passion in his eyes as he spoke. He looked up at her and smiled.
“This is the best day of my life,” he said.
“And I think it's the best day of mine too. Even if we are trapped in an asteroid,” she said with a giggle.
Sirens blared throughout the ship and they both shot to their feet. The medic burst through the door of the chamber and ran to them.
“The Mulgor have found us,” he said. Elait handed the baby to the medic and charged out of the room.
“Watch Hectosh,” Sophia yelled. “Protect him with your life.”
She ran after her husband as he hurried to the cockpit. The pilots were both there but Elait pushed one of them out of a chair and took a seat.
He began to move his hands over the holographic dashboard, bringing up three-dimensional information on the ship.
There was another blast and Sophia could see the light indicator showing where they'd been hit.
“We've been found,” Elait said. “There's no more time to wait.”
“I can help,” Sophia said.
Elait hands moved quickly over the dashboard, but he stole a glance up at her. After a pause, he nodded and motioned for the other pilot to leave.
“We'll do this together,” he said.
Sophia didn’t hesitate. She slid into the chair, gripped the wheel, and studied the three-dimensional hologram of the ship. She took in the position of the Mulgor vessel that was firing on them. Several more vessels had found them and Elait was already piloting directly toward them.
“Take control. I'm taking the lasers,” he said.
Sophia's eyes went wide but she did as she was told. In a split second, she accelerated the engine to full speed, barreling directly towards the ships in her path.
Elait opened up his laser guns, blasting at the ships in their path. Right as they were about to crash, Sophia tilted the ship ninety degrees so that they were flying on their side. They narrowly shot through a gap between the Mulgor ships and were out of the asteroid belt.
Asteroids came at them from every direction and she maneuvered the ship through the chaos of flying rocks as Elait shot at the Mulgor ships that were in pursuit. As soon as Sophia made it through into open space, she looked over a
t Elait and he nodded.
“Warp drive,” Sophia said running her hand over the holographic dashboard to power up warp speed.
“Three… Two… One…,” she said,
The ship burst through space, leaving a trail of light behind them. Warp speed jetted them at an alarming rate through space until they were in the next star system.
The Breaking Dawn didn't have this kind of technology. The Draconian military had been unwilling to pay for it. But Elait’s ship, the Slipstream, was equipped with the latest technology. Warp drive speed took them all the way to a safe star system. Sophia was able to relax for the first time since she’d sat down. Elait put down the hand controls of the guns and turned to her, grabbing her wrist.
“I've never been so turned on in my life,” he growled. “I love seeing you pilot a ship.”
After a quick message to the pilot to take over, he stood and pulled her up with him, dragging her down the hallway and back to their chamber. As the door shut behind him, he told the medic to leave. Hectosh slept in his room, his image on the baby monitor holograph.
Sophia looked at Elait’s hungry, half-crazed eyes and she didn't know if she should run or get down on her knees and worship him. He flicked his finger over the spot on his neck that made his uniform retract. He covered the space between them in a flash before reaching up to rip her gown from her body.
She was wet and ready to take him. He lifted her up and wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her across the chamber to the bed. He didn't let go as he crawled up over the bed and sank down between her legs. His massive cock brushed against her buttocks, and he kissed her deeply, growling and mad with desire.
This time he wasn't patient or gentle. She felt the wide head of his cock press against her soaking wet opening. It seemed impossible that it would ever fit inside her. But when he slid forward, pressing through the outer ring of her core, he slid easily into her.
She looked up at him with wide eyes, clinging to his waist. He nipped at her lip as he pushed deeper, spreading her wider than she could possibly have imagined.
