  “Yes, sir. Crystal.”

  “Abram Solomon proved a disappointment. I hope you will not follow his example. I’ll be in touch.”

  The phone went silent before John Hirsch could reply. Now feeling infuriated, Hirsch threw the cell phone down onto the seat. He had let Joshua stroll out of sight. But, for now, he had no other choice but to await orders from the one man whom he feared most. The one who possessed unimaginable powers. The one whom he dared not disappoint—ever.

  “A day of reckoning will come, Mr. Joshua Austin, and I’ll be there to collect my revenge,” Hirsch whispered.

  He instructed his driver and the other two vehicles to return to base. For now, Joshua Austin would live to see another day.
