  JIMMIE SUTER]

Jimmie Suter is a sturdy, active, honest boy, whose father and motherare very worthy people in moderate circumstances. What Jimmie lacks inpocket money, however, he more than makes up in mechanical ingenuityand other good qualities, and his best boy friend is the son of a richman, but not spoiled by the fact. They have royal times making andsailing an ice-boat and doing many other things, and best of all theyorganize the "S. F. B.," or Society for Feeding Birds, which spreadsfar and wide and is productive of most enjoyable acquaintances besidesdoing good service in the cause for which it was intended. Deeds ofkindness to a queer old neighbor bring an unexpected reward, and thebright, wholesome book ends in a most pleasing manner.

"Martha James seems to have a good kind of insight for this juvenile literature, and in the course of an interesting story drops many valuable suggestions about the employment of a boy's time and his habits of life outside of school."--_Syracuse Herald._

"In his kindness and thoughtfulness for both men and animals, Jimmie is an ideal boy."--_The Watchman, Boston._

"The happy, wholesome book closes in a thoroughly satisfactory way."--_Chicago Inter-Ocean._

"The tone is simple and healthy, and the book will no doubt find many young readers."--_The Churchman, Milwaukee._
