I snickered as she narrowed her eyes, scowling at me.
“Don’t you dare say it!” She screeched at me.
I busted out laughing louder than I expected.
“You look crazy, Rubes. Jesus Christ!”
“I only went for one outfit, but damn, there was a sale, and I didn’t know these women in California were crazy when it came to a sale.”
I laughed harder.
“Now, you know.”
“Ugh! Anyways, you keep laughing like you have all day to get ready. I’ll see you in a couple of hours!” She shouted at me, and this made me laugh with tears escaping my eyes this time.
“Okay, okay, I’m done… I’m going to go nap, and then I’ll be rejuvenated enough for the party.”
When I first fell asleep, nothing felt weird if anything, I was enjoying my blissful sleep, but then my dreams shifted, and I was trapped in a dream… A dream that felt like a reality, a reality I don’t remember ever being part of it.
In this dream, there I was, lying in a bed soft to the touch and a hand wrapped around my waist. I tried to move, but the hand-pulled me closer until I was flush to their body. I groaned wanting to be free, but a man’s voice stopped me,
“Let me sleep some more love.”
I felt the goosebumps as they inhibited my body, and the feeling of a thousand butterflies explode inside of me.
“I have to go,” I replied.
I shivered the moment I felt his lips on my shoulders, it was weird. I could see myself as if I was out of my body, but then I could feel what was happening to my body. I turned to face the man that was responsible for making me feel this way, and I gasped.
“Are you surprised to see me, love?” He asked me and that’s when I noticed we weren’t speaking English again.
“What are you doing in my dream, Graer?” For some reason, I knew I wouldn’t forget those eyes.
“I want to show you just how much I miss you. It’s been so long, my love.”
“What?” I was confused, but my body moved as he maneuvered it.
He was now positioned over me, and I was under him, staring up at him. He was beautiful in this light as his eyes shined bright, and then I looked down at his body, covered in intricate symbols that I understood, but didn’t at the same time. I didn’t know why I did it, but I reached out touching those symbols and each one that my fingertips went over, lit up as if I was turning on a light.
“Stop,” He harshly whispered. I looked up at him, confused by this. His eyes weren’t the emerald color they were when I first saw them. This time, they were black, soulless even before I felt his dick at my opening. “Don’t darling. Don’t touch what you don’t understand.”
“What do you mean?” I was so lost in this dream state, and before I could even do anything else, I felt him enter me slowly, and I gasped. “Sssstop…” I lowly moaned out.
I felt Graer’s lips on my neck, then my collarbone, and then I felt his soft plush lips on mine. He kissed me so hard and good that I felt like I was drowning. He didn’t push all the way in yet as he continued to kiss me. What was this dream, and what was this man doing to me? Graer pulled away from my lips after leaving me feeling like I was floating on water.
“Please, love, please give me the chance to be inside of you again. It’s been centuries, and I can’t handle it.” His eyes still black. I was fearful, but at the same time, my body melted, and I wrapped my legs around his waist.
“This is my dream, after all,” I answered, and he smiled wickedly at me as he pushed in further.
Nothing in this world could prepare me for the pain that took over me when he pushed all the way in breaking the barrier, Graer froze.
“You’re a virgin?” He asked as his eyes became green again.
I nodded as tears slipped past my eyes, and the pain began to subside.
“Oh, love, I didn’t know… I’m so sorry and I-… I’m honored,” He said as he kissed me all over, and he continued to kiss all over my body as I relaxed against him.
When he felt like I was relaxed, he began to slowly move. At first, the pain was there, but then something took over me as some insane bubbling in my belly began from the tip of my toes, rushing throughout my body and punching me in the gut. I moaned as Graer took captive both my body and my lips. He continued to move slowly, and it felt like he was holding back as his body began to tremble over me. I pulled away.
“You’re trembling…”
Graer smirked as he looked at me, his eyes slowly becoming black once more.
“Yes, because I want to take you like I’ve always taken you, but I can’t do that yet, so for now, I’ll take it easy. I have you. Now, stop fighting it love, let go for me.”
The moment his gruff voice said those words to me, my body bucked, and I released the loudest, most guttural moan ever. My body was not mine anymore as it floated while I was trying to come down from it all. Graer continued to move in and out of me, picking up a bit of speed, but trying not to hurt me. He grunted, and then he too released a long deep groan as I felt him release inside of me. It flooded my insides, and my body felt like it had just woken up from the deepest slumber it had ever been in.
I heard a loud knocking coming from the side, and I turned to look, but Graer roughly grabbed my chin and kissed me deeply. I moaned as I felt his dick harden inside of me again. He groaned as the knocking became consistent, and then he let me go. He looked at me for so long, and I had nothing to say as I just looked back at him.
“Please don’t forget me when you wake my love. I need you to remember me.” He said to me with such pain in his eyes, and then I turned towards the knocking again. This time I was jolted out of the dream as I was back in my bedroom.
I woke up to Ruby pounding on my door like she had lost her damn mind.
“What?!” I croaked out as if I lost my voice. I was covered in sweat and a masculine scent.
“You’ve got like an hour to get ready before we head out. You overslept.”
“Okay!” I yelled back, but I was confused because when I pulled the sheets back, there was evidence of me being naked as the day I was born and blood all over. Did I just get my period twice in a month?
What the hell was happening to me?
Chapter 4
Graer
I knew the moment she came into our frat house. I didn’t move from my spot in the backyard as my frat brothers danced, drank, and some got high with their friends, girlfriends, or girls they simply wanted to get with. I wasn’t drunk, yet the tipsiness was creeping in there, and I had to do a lot for that to happen. I don’t even know what number of drink this was. It took so much for me to even get tipsy. I knew why I was getting tipsy because I did something that I knew would put us on a different path.
I inhaled and exhaled as I threw my head back, shutting my eyes as my entire body felt like it was set on fire. Close enough to the experience of when I visited my brother, Aides, in the underworld. No, no, this was worse. The moment I sank inside her warmth, I had forgotten everything else. Nothing else mattered as I lost myself in her dream as I made love to her. To her, it was a dream, but to me and everyone else, it was real. I truly did take her virginity, and I hoped she knew, but if she didn’t, then she was going to be in for a rude awakening. I lowly groaned as I felt her presence behind me, she had moved to the backyard.
I righted my head, opening my eyes as she walked into my line of sight. I smirked as she talked with her friend, not even realizing that my soul called out to her. I called her out here without even trying, and that meant something. It meant we went too long without each other, she was going to remember me if it was the last thing I would do in this wretched world I was stuck in.
“Love,” I whispered her name, and her body shuddered before she turned her head to face me. Her eyes widened at the sight of me, and I mean, I get it. I was half-naked as we had finished the initiation ceremony for the new brothers who joined our house. I smirked as she licked her lips while taking
me in. I knew that I was bigger than most dudes, come on, I’m a god…why would I be the same as mortals? They’d think us to be weak and just like them, no?
You fell in love with a mere mortal.
My brain reminded me and sighed. Yes, yes, I did fall in love with a mortal, a mortal who was taken from me, and once I find who took her from me, I would end them forever this time.
I stood as I stared at her, and I knew she was going to appreciate the little show as I had nothing but my dark blue kilt plus my black boots on. I knew her every weakness on my body, and I displayed it for her. Each tattoo she chose for me way back when and I had never gotten any of them removed. From the trident tattoo that took up my whole back, the Gaelic words, the ancient symbols, I embraced them all as she had once embraced them. They took over my entire upper body from my arms to my chest, and my back. I made sure she was the only one who could see the tattoos, as they moved as if I were back in the sea while I made my way towards her. When I reached her, she didn’t speak. She just stared at my tattoos, then my face, trying to decipher something. I knew she was wondering if she was the only one that saw that, but I wasn’t going to answer this for her. I wanted her to just figure it out herself.
“Bhanrigh…,”
I called out to her again. She looked from my tattoos to her friend and then to me. Before she could say anything, I held my hand up, then snapped my fingers, time froze.
Her eyes widened once more.
“What the hell!” She shrieked. She was freaked out by me, and I knew it.
“I need you to snap out of it, Mae.”
“Did, di-,” She stopped talking, taking a look around as even the beer that someone was pouring out of the keg paused. She took a step back and then another, this isn’t happening. I’m dreaming. I heard her say. Wake up Mae-Lynn Wake the f-.
“You’re not dreaming love,” I said to her, confirming that I indeed read her mind.
She screamed, turning away from me to run. I scowled then smirked, realizing this would be fun. I let her run until she got out to the front of the house, and then I began to chase her. I caught up to her in mere seconds. I scooped her up in my arms turned her around as she screamed to such a blood-curling level, my ears felt like they were bleeding. I knew that I had better say the words I didn’t want to say so that her subconscious could remember me. I didn’t want to do it this way, but it was the only way.
“Tha mo ghion ort,” I confessed it to her. Early but damned if I cared.
This made her screaming stop immediately, and she looked at me.
“What did you just say?”
“I said I love you with all my heart; you know me, love…You know me.”
She just froze them for what felt like an eternity, and then the next words out of her mouth made my heart skip a beat.
“Mo ghràdh,” She called me, my love. I shut my eyes for a moment and then opened them up again.
“I’ve missed you, baby,” I whispered to her in the still of the night as life came back to the party, and time began to move again.
"I'm back, baby," she said to me with a wicked smile.
I smiled back at her.
"Welcome back, my wicked, wicked Queen Medusa,"
I could see my reflection in her eyes as they transformed, and my grin matched her wicked one.
We were going to make it rain blood here for sure.
Chapter 5
Mae-Lynn
With my memory back, that meant all the emotions and hurt I felt with him was back. I backed up out of his arms. The pain came back even more than I needed, and it twisted me inside. I looked up at him as he stared at me confused,
“Baby?” He called out to me, but I shook my head.
“No. You shouldn’t have done that, Graer,” I spoke, gritting my teeth.
“I needed you to remember me. I can’t, I ju-.”
“You just what?!” I yelled because all the pain was fueling my pain and bringing back my attitude that made me bitter after I told him to leave. “You should’ve left me alone like you did the first time because I am not the same as I was then.”
“Medusa…”
“That’s not my name, goddamn it!” I was so damn angry that I did something I had never done to him before. I smacked the living daylights out of him. It was so quick that neither one of us was expecting it.
I shouldn’t have done that, but it had happened, and now, he was angry, but as he took one step closer to me, I heard Ruby calling my name.
“Mae! Mae! Where are you?!”
I smiled at Graer.
“You and I will never be a thing again.”
“Oh?” He asked with his smile matching mine, except his was more menacing than mine.
“Yes,” I answered as I lifted my hand up again, this time running it over my body. “I wonder what kind of trouble I could get into in this body?” I winked at him as I stepped to the side, walking towards Ruby.
When I got where Ruby was in front of the house, I patted myself on the back for acting tough as hell when I knew I was shaking in my damn boots.
“Ready to party, girl?” I asked her.
She looked at me and then back down the street, I turned and didn’t see where Graer had gone. I shrugged my shoulders, pretending not to give a damn. He always left when I told him to.
“Where were you? You were right there with me, and then you disappeared.”
“Oh,” I had to make up a quick lie. “I told you I was getting some fresh air, and now I’m back. Let’s get some drinks in our system!” I grabbed her hand and led her back into the frat house. I was determined to make Graer realize I didn’t want him.
I knew I was drunk and couldn’t care less. I avoided looking into Graer’s eyes for the first hour that I was downing drinks, but now, I no longer wanted to avoid them. The alcohol warmed me, but I wanted Graer. I turned away from the beer pong I was playing with some of Graer’s frat brothers and looked for Ruby. I smiled when I spotted her dancing with some sexy Polynesian looking dude. That must’ve been Kai. She spotted me and waved for me to come over with a smile. I smiled as I walked away from the group that I was with, and made it to the dance floor as a song I had been hearing on the radio came on. It was Dance to this by Troye Sivan. God, I was obsessed with his voice.
I removed the oversized jean jacket that I had on hiding my crop top that Ruby forced me to wear with a black leather skater skirt. She almost convinced me to wear heels, but I opted for my white canvas shoes. I threw my jean jacket on some couch, as I made my way to her and she towered over me in her heels. She was already taller than me, but with her heels, it was a massive difference especially with me being 5 feet and a couple inches. She pulled me in with her and Kai. It made me laugh as I felt so free dancing my worries away. I threw caution to the wind as I felt a hand snake around my waist behind me. I looked at Ruby, and she winked, indicating that he was cute enough.
I turned to face the guy, and he was some cute guy that was just as half-dressed as the other guys. I loved it as I caressed his pecs, while his bronze skin glistened from how hot it was in here. I turned around dancing on him, I felt like I was floating in the air as my body moved to the rhythm, something in me shifted, and the guy moved us for some reason choosing to face Graer who sat at a table just staring at me as he drank the content in his red cup with some girl in his lap. He smiled wickedly at me as if he knew what I was going to do.
My body was rising in heat, and I couldn’t think straight as I wanted to just climb him. I felt myself as I moved out of the other guy’s hold and sauntered my way towards the table that Graer was sitting at. I didn’t even stop when the girl glared at me. It was like my body wasn’t my own, as the sway of the music made everyone else disappear for me. When I got to the table, I climbed it, and on all fours, crawled towards him. I bit my bottom lip as his gaze never wavered from me; then when I reached where they were, the girl was staring at me in disbelief. I turned away from both of them on all fours, then I spread my
knees further apart as I moved my lower half right in their faces.
I heard the girl scoff as Graer groaned. I felt his finger on my thigh, but then I turned around. I sat on the table now with my legs open facing him, the girl finally got the hint and left us alone, even though now I knew people were watching us instead of enjoying the party. “No touching,” I warned him, as I slid off the table and into his lap.
I began to grind my body on his, knowing how hard he already was. I lost myself in this moment, shutting my eyes as I felt his hands disobey my order and cup my butt. I moaned as I threw my head back. This was our problem, we were too lost in each other at this moment. I needed clarity, but my body wanted him. It missed him, but my heart wanted him gone.
Chapter 6
Graer
This…this was part of the reason I missed this woman. She was the only one that could ignite such a fire inside of me, almost making me reveal myself in front of everyone, but even I had to admit this was new. I knew she became something else, and her reputation preceded her. I was too stubborn to go to her then, and I was too late because she was killed, yet no one wanted to tell me who truly did it. I know someone put Perseus to it, and if it weren’t for him being my nephew, he would’ve been dead.
The song changed, and Mae’s sudden scream of excitement made me zero in on her. Her face was full of joy and lust as she gave me a lap dance that I didn’t think was ever going to happen. Dinero by Jennifer Lopez blasted through the speakers, and people finally began to go about their business instead of watching us. I groaned as I felt Mae’s hand squeezing my already hard member through my kilt.
