by King Ellie
Gone was the Graer that I knew and here, was Poseidon. Her Uncle. The man that ruled the seas and had even more power than some knew of. His father was Cronus and his mother, Rhea. Two titans whose blood ran deep in his veins.
“You dare!” He bellowed out. “You dare interfere in my business! How fucking dare you! I will kill you.” Before Athena could talk, Poseidon stood in front of her as she choked on water. He wasn’t even touching her, and I was afraid, not for anyone else but the goddess that I used to pray to, Athena.
“Wait!” I screamed, but neither of them heard me.
Athena dropped to her knees as she clutched her throat, I knew that he must’ve been invoking some serious pain on her if she couldn’t even fight him off. Something made him stop, and I realized it must’ve been written all over Athena’s face.
“Please…” I heard her hoarse voice. “I won’t fight you. I’m not here for that. I’m here because I’m righting my wrongs. I’m so sorry, Poseidon.”
Graer crouched down to her level. He gritted his teeth as he grabbed her jaw in his hand, hard.
“You cost me the love of my life and my fucking child. I will never forgive you. Fuck your rights and wrongs. You haven’t punished yourself enough. I should kill you, but it would be a disservice to your father. Thank your father for your life, Athena. Thank him real well but me and you, this, us. It’s over. You are not family to me,” He said, and I felt the weight of his words.
Athena. The goddess that I, a mere priestess, worshipped, sobbed like a child at Graer’s words.
“Wait! Please, no. Don’t. Don’t say that to me. I brought her back for you. I realized my wrong, and I made sure to give you her once more. I righted the wrong.”
Graer’s eyes narrowed at her in pure anger. No, this wasn’t anger, it was hate. He hated her now.
“You put Perseus up to killing the one person that I searched for. I went through with it, Athena. I lost my fucking mind. She was lost from me and not only that, YOU HID HER FROM ME! I searched seas, countries, and worlds for my woman, but you kept her far from me, and yet you want my forgiveness? You kneel down before me sobbing false tears like the mortals, and you think I will forgive you as they do? LEAVE MY SIGHT!” Graer lashed out, and I finally knew where I was.
I was in Atlantis. King Poseidon’s home. No wonder why Athena had no power here, and she knew that too.
The moment he said that to her, she stopped sobbing. Graer let go of her jaw harshly, and she fell to the ground. She stood up tall though with her head held high as she looked at her Uncle.
“Forgiveness is a gift, old man.” She said with venom on her tongue. This was a total 180, and I felt out of place being here.
Graer didn’t lift a finger, but his trident, which was resting idly near his chair, zipped towards him so quickly and stopped short of Athena’s neck. It was so close that if she moved an inch, it would cut her.
“Forgiveness is for those who feel like they owe it to the world. I don’t owe a damn soul shit. I don’t owe you forgiveness. Be fucking lucky that I’m not owing you death or imprisonment. If you’re feeling froggy, ask your grandfather, Cronus and the rest of the titans, how it feels to be locked up. Fuck you, Athena, the goddess of wisdom,” Graer chuckled. “The fucking irony of it all. The one who grants wisdom lacks it as well.”
Before I could continue on hearing what was going on, Athena turned to look my way, and I was jolted out of the dream state that I was in. What the fuck!
Chapter 14
Graer
I sat up. Angry as hell. I didn’t even take time to see if Mae was awake as I disappeared from my bed. I now stood in front of my brother Zeus, and he was, of course, fucking some broad. I shook my head; this was why Hera left him. Well, it was centuries ago, and they didn’t seem like they’d ever get back together anyway.
“Brother,” I said, and Zeus growled while the girl screamed.
She was looking around, trying to see when I came into the room. I rolled my eyes as Zeus threatened me with the sound of lighting. They were both lucky I showed up with clothes on and not as Poseidon.
“Really, Ler?” He groaned as he stopped fucking her and got away from the girl.
“I’ll make this quick,” I said as he went into the bathroom. I snapped my fingers, suspending time so that the girl could mind her business.
Zeus came back out of the bathroom, glaring at me. He had cut his hair; it was now shoulder-length, but it still held the sun-kissed color to it.
“Really, motherfucker?” He narrowed his eyes at me. “Why are you here?”
“Tell your daughter to stay out my fucking business. I’ll kill her the next time I see her; she’s been warned.”
Zeus groaned, running his fingers through his hair, and he knew I would never say that unless it was serious. He sighed, nodding sharply.
“I’ll tell her,” he answered.
He didn’t even have to ask me who, and I knew that she told him. I wasn’t angry with my brother because he was probably the one who told her to come tell me the truth. What she did was stupid, yes, but brave of her to come to my face and tell me she killed the one woman I loved. Had she not brought Mae back to me, I would’ve killed her even without speaking with my brother. I nodded at my brother, ready to disappear again.
“Stop sticking your dick everywhere, dumbass.” I said to him.
He threw his head back, laughing.
“Yeah, yeah. When’s the wedding?” He smirked at me.
I cocked my brow.
“Who’s wedding? Didn’t we just go to one? Your son’s wedding, if I might add.”
He snickered.
“Yep, we did, but I’m talking about yours with Medusa. Come on now, I can tell that you won’t let her get away a second time. Will you?” He teased.
“I could kill you where you stand,” I said, then I smiled at him. “Maybe I’ll propose soon or a year from now. Who knows? All I know is, we have eternity together, and I’m not letting her out of my sight.”
Zeus rolled his eyes this time.
“Good for you, fucker. Now, can you leave so I can go back to fucking my prize for the night?”
I shook my head, chuckling.
“Fucking man whore,” I replied, then I teleported back to bed with Mae.
Chapter 15
Mae-Lynn
I felt the bed stir, and I opened my eyes to a fully dressed Graer. Was he wearing sweats? I eyed him.
“You own sweats? Let alone pants?” I asked.
Graer chuckled as he shook his head.
“Go back to sleep, asshole.”
I laughed at his remark, but then my laughter died.
“Did I dream it or did Athena really do that to you?” I asked.
He sighed.
“She didn’t do it to me, she did it to us. It’s fucked up, and I’m still thinking about killing her for her, but I won’t. I won’t do it to my brother.”
Before Graer began pacing, I patted his empty side of the bed.
“Sit,” I said to him, and when he did, I sat up wrapping my arms around him, hugging him. “You don’t need to kill her. I know, I know. It sounds insane coming from me. I may not have known it was her, but I had a part in it. I should’ve never questioned your love for me at all. Nothing should’ve swayed me when it came to you, but it did. I know I never told you this before, but baby, I’m sorry.”
Graer pulled back, he looked at me in the eyes, confused.
“Sorry for what?” He asked.
I cupped his face in my small hands,
“I’m sorry that you had to be alone for years. Had to be confused, lost, and heartbroken. I don’t blame Athena as much as I blame myself. I want to say you deserve better, but there’s no way in hell, I’m going to let someone else feel this love from you. I want you to know that I will never doubt you again. I won’t ever take anyone else’s words over yours. You are everything to me. I’d die for you, Graer.”
Graer smiles at me as he caressed
my cheek,
“Aww, Baby. I don’t want you to die for me. I want you to live for me, can you do that?”
I nodded like a crazy person.
“Yes, yes! I can do that!” I answered him and kissed him.
Graer chuckled in between our kisses and withdrew.
“Was I proposing or something?” He teased.
“Fuck you!” I said, laughing hard. “If you did, I’d say no.”
Graer narrowed his eyes, still with a smile on his face.
“Will you marry me?” He said.
I don’t know why I was so shocked, but I didn’t even think as I quickly replied.
“Yes!” I exclaimed. Then I slapped a hand over my mouth. “Wait, wait. That doesn’t count. I wasn’t thinking. Ask me again.”I demanded.
Graer shook his head.
“Nope. You already answered, lady. I told you, you’d say yes. You’re so head over heels in love with me, there’s nothing you can do about it.”
“ I love you, my future husband. I love every part of you from you being known as Ler, Poseidon, Graer, but most of all, I love the part where you’re my future husband,” I confessed to Graer.
He smirked this time around.
“I love you too, darling. Whether you’re Medusa or Mae, you’re mine, and I love every single bit of you. Even when you’re cursing me out and ripping me a new asshole. You’re still mine. I’m pretty sure you being my wife gives you even more entitlement to riding my dick whenever you want.” He just had to be so crass.
I rolled my eyes but laughed.
“You dirty, dirty man. For eternity?” I asked.
“Forever and always, my bhanrigh.”
This was forever. No one could come between us ever again. I won’t allow it, and I know damn well, Graer wouldn’t allow it either.
