“Yeah, baby.” Julia moaned, biting her lower lip, as he took her nipple between his lips.

“Mmm, they’re so big.” He grunted, squeezing her breasts, tracing his tongue over the tip of her nipple, as she clenched him tightly to her. By now, Ray could feel his hard cock pressing up against his boxers, ready to burst out of his underwear. His left hand released her breast, and reached down. Undoing the button of his jeans first, he pulled his zipper down, savoring her sexy whimpers in his ears. Aching with lust, he yanked his pants down his legs, but Julia’s next move added to his already immense arousal. Wasting no time at all, she slid her hands further down his body, and smoothed her hands over his butt cheeks.

“So firm…” she hissed, splaying her fingers over his flesh, as he gently bit her nipple. Ray’s rebuttal came in the form of a smile. She could touch him wherever she liked, as long as it pleased her. He ran his hand down her side, as he reached for her hip. With a strong, upward jerk, he lifted her off her feet. Bringing her mouth level with his, Ray felt his cock getting trapped between their bodies, as their lips locked in one more, passionate kiss. The precum that had been oozing out of his cockhead smeared the skin of her torso, as Julia’s tongue penetrated the moist seam of his mouth. She wrapped her legs around his hips, as he reached between them for his cock. Raking her nails up his back, she wiggled and whimpered, as he pressed the swollen tip up against her clit. A soft snarl tickled in his throat at the sensation of her hardness, one that he had to stifle. His wolf might have been craving her, but he had to stay hidden. Maintaining a firm grip around his thick shaft, Ray slid his cock down her glistening pussy lips to her entrance. Julia squeezed her eyes shut, as he pushed through her wet folds, with a slow, sensual stroke.

“God, it feels so good,” she moaned, tilting her head back, clutching his shoulder blades, as his lips closed around her lower lip. A deep grunt escaped him at the feel of her tightness taking his entire length. Ray placed his hands on either hip, overwhelmed by the warm wetness that surrounded his shaft, as Julia tipped her head down. He meant to maintain a steady pace at first; yet, she stole his will, as she rolled her eyelids open. Her eyes were darkened with arousal and she slid her hands up his back, heaving sighs of lust.

“You’re the sexiest thing alive,” Ray whispered, losing himself in her blazing gaze, as he angled his lips. Smoothing his hands down her sides, he claimed her mouth, as she clutched his shoulders. He grabbed and held onto her outer thighs, stretching her inner walls, feeling them burning around his pulsing manhood, as she sank her fingernails into his firm skin. Julia let go of his left shoulder, moaning louder in his mouth, as he squeezed both of her thighs at the same time. Reaching up, she buried her hand into his hair, as Ray gently bit her lower lip.

“Right there, baby!” Julia cried out, tossing her head back, as he plowed deeper and harder into her. Breathing heavily down her neck, he opened his eyes. He absolutely loved the sight of her breasts, bouncing wildly up and down with each thrust. Ray wished there was a way for him to take her hard nipples into his mouth once more, kiss them, lick them, bite them to the point of pleasure, stimulate her even further, as he coaxed her to a mind-blowing orgasm. But, he didn’t mind. He was perfectly fine with watching them, feeling the friction between their bodies, as she writhed against him. Julia pressed the balls of her feet against his lower back, her breath coming out in gasps, as Ray felt her inner muscles flexing around his shaft, faster than ever before. She grabbed a fistful of his hair and held him close, as he stroked her thighs. With her loud, lustful moans, so close to his ear, he savored each and every stroke; felt her hot juices streaming down his cock. Julia cried out, bursting into an explosive climax, her body twisting and turning against the wall, unable to stop as it ran through her like a bolt of lightning. Ray quickly took his right hand off of her thigh, feeling his balls tightening. Reaching down, he pulled out, as his knees shook. A guttural grunt fled his lips, as his juices stained the wall and the floor. Julia closed her eyes, a smile of happiness lighting up her face, as she rested her head on his shoulder, and her weight against his body. Sadly, however, Ray was taken by complete surprise. Too tired to support her weight, he swayed backward first, and then tumbled to the floor. He landed flat and very hard on his back, the thump of his drop resounding through the walls of her room and the corridor outside. Julia broke out into loud, sweet laughter, as he lazily snaked his arm around her back.

“Oops!” She chuckled, patting him on the chest. “Sorry about that!”

“It’s alright,” he panted, her curls tickling his jaw as he glanced down at her. “I’m not hurt.”

“Good.” Julia chirped, kissing him on the nape of his neck. “You can’t be a part of the things I got in mind for tonight if you are.”

“Oh, damn…” Ray groaned, shutting his eyes, as he recalled Helena’s request. “There’s this…” he paused; “special person in my town. She wants to talk to us.”

“You don’t have to find any names to call her,” she teased, her chin resting on her hand. “Monica and Kate have told me about Helena. How urgent is it?”

“I don’t know,” he shrugged his shoulders. “She told me to find her, when you get to Paxton.”

“Screw it,” Julia gave a quick laugh, as she leaned back. “Let’s go.”

“What?” Ray’s voice turned into a high-pitched squeal. “What about your job?”

“I’ll call in sick tomorrow morning,” she assured him in a more serious tone, as she rose on her feet. “It’s a win-win. I’ll get to meet a witch, and spend tomorrow with you. Is there a better excuse to play hooky?”

“There’s nothing I can do to change your mind, is there?” Ray wondered, leaning back against his elbows, as she smiled down at him.

“Come on, it will be fun!” Julia said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Get up, pretty boy. We’re going to Paxton; again.”

  Chapter Twelve

Understanding that arguing with Julia would not avail him of much, Ray decided to oblige. But, even if there remained an iota of a chance for him to change her mind, he would not insist. Why should he? Their first time together had been amazing, but that was not the only reason why he had kept his mouth shut. Deep down, Ray wanted to go back to his birthplace with her. As much as the idea of waking up with her in her apartment appealed to him, he couldn’t deny that he would much rather do so in his cabin. No traffic would bother him there. No noises would pierce his ears. No terrible smells would make his stomach churn, either. There existed one downside to her suggestion. Julia insisted on taking her car, arguing that she didn’t want to burden him or her friends with driving her back to New York the next day. Still, he didn’t complain. Yes, Ray did mind that they would not ride to Paxton together, but he was so ecstatic with the prospect of spending more time with her in familiar territory that he kept his objection to himself.

Minutes afterwards, he came to discover that sharing the interstate with her was much more adventurous than he originally predicted. Indeed, Julia overtook him, and even waved at him in her rearview mirror, with a toothy grin gracing her face. He initially thought to humiliate her, as his Harley was much more powerful than her car. But, he had to refrain from doing so. His kind had struggled to keep a low profile. Speeding would invite too much unwanted attention. Ray and Julia had been teasing each other too much on Saturday night, but he had managed to stay within speed limits. Taking part in this childish game could cost him dearly.

More than two hours later, he caught a glimpse of the Paxton town lights, spreading out before him, as he turned left, onto the downhill road that led to this birthplace. After clearing the first, U-bend, he locked his gaze on his family’s property. Nevertheless, none of the cabins was dark. On the contrary, every light in his siblings’ cabins was on, as well as in his own. A loud, rumbling sound rose above the noise of the thunder-headers, startling him even more: Music. An intense curiosity coursed through him. His brothers liked to stay up late, but Monica had to wake up
at 6:30 a. m. for work. What was the occasion? What were they celebrating?

Ray eased up on the brakes of his Harley, sweeping their front yard, as Julia’s car rolled to a halt behind him. Raul was hugging Monica from behind, facing him, whereas Dean and Kate were a few feet to their left, holding hands, smiling down at him. Melissa stood between them, looking up in the sky, tapping her chest with her index finger, but quickly sped off towards Raul’s cabin. Ray switched off the engine of his Harley, and pulled his helmet up and over his head, as Julia stepped out of her car, just before the music ceased altogether.

“It’s almost 1a.m.,” Ray remarked, shifting his weight to dismount his motorcycle. “What are you doing up so late?”

“I just got back from my gynecologist,” Monica started, a blissful smile spreading across her face, as she stared down at Julia. “I’m pregnant.”

Ray’s heart leapt for joy within him. His brother was just a short while away from realizing the dream of paternity. As he quickened his pace to a jog however, Julia sped past him, arms open as she hurtled towards her friend. Her cheerful screams filled the air, as Monica eased out of her mate’s hold.

“That’s really great, honey!” Julia cheered, throwing her arms around her back, as Monica circled her own arms around her friend’s shoulders. “I’m so happy for you.”

“Thank you, Jules.” Monica smiled, as Julia squeezed her tighter in her embrace. “Ok, this can’t be good for the baby.”

“Sorry,” Julia chuckled, leaning back, dropping her arms, as Ray closed the distance between him and Raul. “Hey, blondie!” She yelled, looking up at Kate over her right shoulder. “I call godmother!” She continued, raising her arm up in the air.

“Oh, man!” Kate groaned, cocking her head in frustration, as she tore her gaze away from her.

“You snooze, you lose, baby!” Julia taunted, winking down at her, as Ray and Raul exchanged a cordial hug.

“That’s beautiful, big man,” Ray said, patting him on the back. “I can’t believe I’m going to be an uncle.”

“Thanks, kid,” Raul grinned, gazing down at Julia. “And I thought Kate was a happy girl.”

“Nah, Julia’s not just happy,” Ray smirked, pulling out of his brother’s embrace. “She’s wacky. Anyway, have you guys come up with a name yet?”

“If it’s a girl? ‘Helena.’ I haven’t thought of any boy names.” Raul’s response came fast, much faster than he anticipated. “I can’t believe what I’m about to say, but that witch has been the guardian angel of our family. It’s the least we could do for her. I told Monica; she loved my idea.”

“You bet your ass she has,” Ray agreed with a nod.

“I’m going to be a godmother, bitches! Woo hoo!” Julia cheered with her hands up in the air, as she strode toward Kate and Melissa. Ray watched, as Dean padded towards his spot, snickering, as he scratched his skin.

“You know, I’m starting to wonder what she would do, if she got pregnant,” he stated, fixing his eyes on Ray.

“Enlighten us, Junior,” Raul teased, putting his hands on his waist. “Would she throw a party? Arrange a press conference? Organize a parade, maybe?”

“I’m not sure about those, but the first thing she’d do, would be…” Ray faltered, leaning closer to his older brother… “lick whipped cream… off my chest.”

“Ooooh, that had to hurt!” Dean exclaimed, squeezing his eyes shut, as Ray watched Raul’s smugness evaporate at his confidence. Without uttering another word, he merely turned to the left, and strolled away from his Alpha. He might have loved his brother dearly, but no one, not even he, had the right to make fun of his girlfriend. Julia’s mannerisms were beginning to grow on him. She could squeal, cheer or scream all she wanted, and he would enjoy every single second of it. The feisty redhead had turned Ray’s initial feeling of surprise into a sea of joy that flooded his heart. Nobody was allowed to mock her for that.

The night went on with plenty of songs, good food, and a lot of alcohol. Kate would start singing, and her friends would follow. Most of the time, the siblings preferred to watch the trio perform, clanking glasses, and laughing to their heart’s content. Julia and Monica’s attempts at singing were usually not successful, bringing about one fit of laughter after another. This team effort was more evidence of the bond that they shared, but Ray didn’t need any more proof of that. Every few minutes, he would steal glances at his brother and his mate, in the hope that, someday, he would become a father himself.

Although the group had tons of fun that night, the celebration had an effect on Julia, one that ruined Ray’s plans. She became intoxicated. Indeed, just two hours after their arrival in Paxton, the young redhead was in no condition for a date. Her eyes were reddened; she giggled almost constantly; and she could hardly stand upright. Understanding that she was about to make a complete fool of herself, Ray excused himself, and took Julia to his cabin. The last thing he wanted was to see her collapse like she had done in the “Northern Oak”.

  Chapter Thirteen

Luckily for Ray, Julia was not as drunk as she had been that other night. She could walk, but she had to hold onto his arm for support. He had to maintain a very slow pace. Both of his brothers were watching. A nasty fall could trigger more nasty comments from Raul. Ray remained silent, staring up at his front door, as a cool breeze blew through his hair.

“God, this is so cool…” Julia chuckled, banging her head against his shoulder. “My best friend is knocked up, and my pretty boy is taking me to bed. I mean, can it get any better than this?”

“Actually, it can.” Ray claimed with a hint of sadness in his voice. “But you’d have to be sober for that.”

“Explain yourself, sir.” She faked a British accent, rolling her eyes in mock annoyance. “Are you implying that I’m too drunk?”

“Julia…” he snorted in amusement, as he stopped just outside his doorstep. “I’m not implying it. I’m saying it.”

“I’m appalled,” Julia said, her voice drowsy, as she leaned over him. Ray glanced up at his staircase, and then down at her. He didn’t think twice. Climbing up the stairs could prove to be an impossible feat for her, even with his assistance. Circling his right arm around her back, he placed his left hand under her knees. He flexed his muscles, picking her up in his arms, as he arose to his 6’1” stature. “Ok, now I’m not so appalled,” Julia whispered, reaching her right hand up to his hair.

“You really have to do something about your drinking.” He suggested, stepping onto the landing. “That’s twice in three days.”

“Not really,” she disagreed, her tone sweet, as she ran her fingers through his hair. “I was drunk on Friday, but tonight? Nah.”

“Are you kidding me?” Ray asked, leaving the staircase behind him.

“Look at me,” Julia urged, her voice firm. Walking through his bedroom door, he obliged, as she slid her palm down his forehead. “I had four beers tonight. Ok, it’s enough to make my head spin a little, but I’m alright. I just wanted to get out of there; be alone with you.”

He didn’t dignify her statement with a comment of his own. Instead, Ray moved around his bed, gazing deep down into her eyes, as a hesitant smile formed on her lips. He bent his knees and eased her down, listening to her quickening heartbeat, as she turned her head to the left side.

“You’re a mess,” He chuckled lightly, staring at the curly eyelashes that adorned her face. “I mean, pretending to be drunk? Come on, Julia. I thought Monica was your friend. Why would you leave her party like that?”

“I wanted to see my man’s bedroom,” She confessed, her tone mellow, as Ray reached down to take off her shoes. “Mess, huh? I like it. What should I call you?”

“You mean other that ‘pretty boy’?” He asked, undoing the knots of her shoelaces. “I think one name is enough.”

“It’s cozy,” Julia commented, pointing up at the ceiling. “I’d love to wake up to the sight of logs in the morning.”

  “You will tomorrow,”
Ray assured, throwing her sneaker across the floor.

“I don’t think one time will be enough,” she muttered, bringing her gaze back down to his face. “It’s a whole different world out here. Mon and Kate won’t shut up about how beautiful it is.”

“It’s not,” he rejected that notion, tossing her other shoe behind his back, as his gaze ran up his body. “Don’t forget you’re in the realm of another species, mess. Fangs, teeth and muscle rule this world,” He added, scooting up along his bed.

“I can’t forget, pretty boy.” Julia whispered with her mouth inches away from his, as she snaked her left arm around his shoulders. “Not as long as you stare at me with those ‘undress me’ eyes. They’re the darkest green I’ve ever seen. It’s like they reflect the forest that surrounds your town.”

Once again, she had left him speechless. Ray could not force another word out of his throat. There was only one form of response he could come up with which did not involve speaking. Closing his eyes, he gave her a sweet smile, as he angled his lips. His mouth brushed over hers tentatively, as Julia pulled him closer. Her scent, the almond that so vividly reminded him of a morning spring engulfed him like a cloud of fog, more poignant than the alcohol that lingered in her breath. There was no urgency in her kiss, only her lazy, familiar playfulness. It felt more like a hint, a promise of the future yet to come.

“Goodnight, mess,” he whispered, closing his lips around the crease between her lower lip and her chin.
