David must have noticed where he was looking because he laid his arm across the back of the chair and squeezed his shoulder reassuringly. David did say he wanted him to meet his parents. Maybe there was still hope he could have that someday. Two weeks ago he never would have thought he would be sitting next to his new boyfriend, attending his new best friend’s wedding.
He saw Josh’s eyes well up as he stood in front of Brandon in his tuxedo pants and vest, with his white dress shirt sleeves rolled up, and spoke the vows he had written for Brandon. For all of Josh’s lighthearted, carefree joking, Nathan didn’t know he had it in him. He truly did love Brandon. It seemed like he could barely get the words past the lump in his throat. A tear ran down Brandon’s handsome, closely trimmed bearded face.
Everyone listened intently to these two men they adored share their love for each other. Until of course the minister informed Josh he could now kiss his husband. Then the partying commenced. Well, for the most part, anyway. Nathan was only allowed to sit and watch until David decided he needed to be back in bed. It was weird to have someone watching over him. Nathan thought he could get used to it.
