Fabricio collapsed on the concrete, bleeding and broken. Exactly like she wanted him to.

“I remember everything, not just what you did to me,” she said, as she walked to the gun to pick it up. “The code to your secret safe where you keep your laptop. Your log-in code, too.”

  Now he stopped sobbing.

“You should have ignored your doctor.”

“Pwease…” he now begged to die, whispering his plea.

“I will, if you learn to talk properly,” Angeline said and walked away.

The opaque curtains swayed in the refreshing breeze coming from the ocean. It carried away the heat of the Caribbean sun standing high in the sky. Angie was humming a lullaby to the infant sleeping contentedly in her arms. The dress she was wearing was just as light as the fabric of the curtains as there was no one on this small island who could see her barely covered body. ‘Ocean’s Captive’ she named it.

A familiar scent reached Angeline’s nose and she looked up, waking onto the patio to look at the point where the ocean met the land. A large, athletic form emerged from the waves walking straight towards her.

“Maelstrom,” Angeline greeted him telepathically. “My love.”

“Angeline,” he answered. “Love of my life.”

Angie beamed at him. She used to run to him until she had been too far along, and now with their little son, she walked towards him slowly, while covering the infant from the merciless sun.

  “Tempest has just fallen asleep.”
