In Your Arms Page 7

He yanked her pants down to her knees before fingering her tattoo. “Thing of beauty.”

She didn’t know if he meant her tattoo or her bare ass staring at him, but at the moment she didn’t care. She needed him inside her. She looked over her shoulder. “We doing this, or what?”

He pressed his body to hers and his dick slid against her but didn’t enter. He wrapped his hand in her hair. In her ear, he whispered, “What happens if my answer is or what?”

She wiggled her hips back in an attempt to get his dick to bump her clit. A few times, that’s all she needed. She wasn’t looking for games. Not now. “Fuck me or get off.”

He hauled her away from the door, pulling her up tight against him. One hand crossed her body and grabbed her breast possessively; the other hand flattened just above her pubic bone. So close.

“I’ll fuck you.” He bit down on her shoulder as his fingers inched lower and worked around her clit. “And that fuck wasn’t even the beginning of what you’ll be saying.”

She whimpered and closed her eyes. His words alone were almost enough to get her off.

“Hands back where you had them.”

Emma pried her eyes open to see what she was doing. Her hands shook because she wanted this so bad. She stiffened her fingers and pressed into the wood to steady herself.

With his hand on her right hip, he guided himself into her in one long, smooth stroke. The hand at her hip snaked forward, and she was sure he’d rub her clit. He had to know she was close. But it moved straight across her hip, anchoring her to him. He withdrew slowly and slid home again. This was his equivalent of the slow torment she’d dished out all day.

Well, that was fine. She wouldn’t break. If he could hold out, so could she.

She straightened her arms a little and arched her back a touch, just enough to get a better angle and draw his attention back to her ass. Most guys couldn’t resist. They couldn’t hold out. And as soon as he started banging her right, she’d use her own hand to finish what he started until she came all around his dick.

He squeezed her ass cheek before pulling his entire body back. Using both hands, he separated her cheeks. She knew he was watching himself sink into her body, so she clenched her internal muscles and gripped him tighter. His moan was nearly a growl.

He shoved himself in to the hilt. “You don’t play fair.”

  “Who says I’m playing?”

His next thrust was hard and fast, stealing her breath and almost knocking her into the wall. He withdrew and did it again.

  “Christ,” she whispered.

“Uh-uh. The word you’re looking for is fuck.”

He was right, but she didn’t want to give him the satisfaction. She shook her head. He chuckled and began to pump into her in earnest. The rhythm rebuilt the tension inside her. Her clit throbbed, begging for attention. She was close, but knew she wouldn’t get her orgasm unless one of them touched her.

Sean pounded into her, filling her, stretching her, and it felt phenomenal. She was close, too close to care if he thought he won this game they played. She risked losing her balance and crashing against the wall. She released the dresser to touch herself. Before her fingers reached their destination, Sean thrust into her and caught her hand. He put it back on the dresser, his hand pinning hers down.

  “Damn.” She hung her head.

He buried himself deep inside her and leaned forward. In her ear, he rasped, “Fuck is the word I need to hear. Long and hard on a moan. Even better if you add my name to it.”

“Touch me and I’ll give you whatever you want.”

“Don’t move your hands.” He let go of her hand and resumed his rhythm.

Again, she pressed into the wood and used it as leverage to push back against him. Just when she didn’t think she could take any more, his finger came out of nowhere and flicked her clit. It was quick, gone so fast she thought she’d imagined it. She relaxed back into his rhythm, and his finger was back, pressing against her clit. The touch sent a jolt of pleasure exploding through her.

Her orgasm crashed through her like a bolt of lightning. She couldn’t hold back anything, and she gave Sean what he wanted. On a long, harsh moan, the word fuck escaped her throat with his name attached.

By the time he tensed and emptied into her, her body was useless. They stood there panting, Sean still inside her body, their jeans hanging at their knees.

As soon as they could breathe almost normally, Sean pulled out and straightened. Emma attempted to do the same, but her legs weren’t quite cooperative.

  “You okay?” he asked.

  She nodded weakly.

He pulled her back against him and kissed her neck. He moved to take a step back but almost brought them both to the floor because of their jeans. He wobbled before righting them.

She laughed. “Guess that part wasn’t thought out all that well.”

  “Hang on.”

She was, of course, back to hanging on the dresser. She heard him tugging up his pants. She knew she should do the same, but she couldn’t muster the motivation.

Without warning, Sean scooped her up in his arms, took three steps, and tossed her on his bed. Thank goodness his room was small.

She landed with a slight bounce, and then the mattress sank with the weight of his body as he joined her.

  Chapter Five

Sean lay in bed, still kind of out of breath. He didn’t know what the hell had made him carry Emma into his bed, but it felt right. Now he knew why chicks dug that sort of thing in movies. He liked the power of moving her almost as much as the power he had to make her curse and scream his name. They lay on his bed, panting, and Emma turned to him with a smile.

  Fuck, she was gorgeous.

  “Well, that was fun.”

  “Better than birthday cake?”

  “Heck, yeah.”

“You’re back to saying heck. I guess I have to work on that.” He flipped to his side and stroked a finger along her ribs.

She squealed and squirmed away. “Don’t do that. I’m ticklish.”

With her feet flat on the mattress, she pressed her hips into the air and pulled up her pants. The sight made him want to crawl between her thighs and hang out for the night, but he had to get ready for practice. Just as she buttoned her jeans, her phone started to ring.

“Hello?” She paused. “That’s great. I’ll be there soon.”

He wrapped an arm around her still-naked torso. “Where?”

“That was Dominick. My car is ready so I won’t have to borrow yours after all.”

“I don’t have time to drive you there before practice, so you can still take my car. We can pick yours up later. Or tomorrow.”

She pushed at his forearm. “I have to pay Dominick. I don’t think he’ll just leave my car waiting for me to swing by. Go to practice. I’ll take the bus to get my car. I’ll go home, shower, and change and meet you.”

At least she still planned on coming back. He looked forward to spending more time with her. “I can ask Norah if she’ll give you a ride.”

“I don’t want to put anyone out. I’ll be fine.”

“She’ll probably do it.” He jumped off the bed. “I’ll go ask.”

  “Wait.”

He ignored Emma’s call as he jogged up the steps and through the dining room. From there, he yelled up to his sister. “Norah!”

  “What?”

“Can you give Emma a ride to get her car? It’s at the shop, and I don’t have time to take her there before practice.”

His request must’ve been more interesting than he thought because it brought Norah out of her room and to the top of the stairs.

  “What do you need?”

“Can you take Emma to the shop to get her car?”

A sweet smile crossed her face. “I can probably do that if you tell me what’s going on with her. You never bring a girl home and then spend this much time with her.”

He lifted a shoulder. “I like her. We hung out and h
ad fun.”

“So all the talk this morning about wanting me to move out was really about you wanting privacy with your new girlfriend?”

Sisters. “She’s not my girlfriend, and I have plenty of privacy downstairs. Can you take her to get her car or not?”

“I suppose I can.” She tilted her head and narrowed her eyes.

  “What now?”

“I’m trying to decide what details about you I can spill. I’ve been home for a year, and this is the first time you’ve brought a girl around except for at night. In fact, this is the first time ever you’ve introduced me to anyone.”

“Not true. I introduced you to girls at the bar.”

Norah crossed her arms. “First, players’ wives and girlfriends don’t count. Second, it also doesn’t count if you only introduce me as a means to show some girl how safe you are so she’ll sleep with you.”

He had no argument. “Just don’t scare her off.”

“That leaves a lot of room.”

Sean wasn’t worried. Norah had lived in Boston for ten years, during the time when he might’ve exposed himself with some embarrassing stories. His life had been relatively boring over the past year.

He waved and said, “Thanks. I’ll buy you a beer tonight.”

As he walked away, she yelled, “I’ll hold you to that.”

Sean jogged back downstairs to get ready for practice. Back in his room, Emma sat on the bed, fully clothed. The only sign that they’d had sex was the smell in the air and the look of complete relaxation on her face.

“Norah will drop you off at your car.”

“I told you not to bother her. I’ll hop on the bus.”

“It would be at least two buses. And she doesn’t mind. She thinks she’s going to say something to embarrass me and make my life hard.”

Emma stood. “I guess that’s what little sisters are for, huh?”

Sean grabbed clean clothes from his dresser. “Is that how you are?”

She laughed. “Maybe when I was twelve. Now, Nicky does enough all on his own. He doesn’t need my help to be embarrassed.”

“Ouch. Hope my sister doesn’t talk about me like that.”

“You’d have to meet Nicky to understand.”

“I’m going to shower. You can wait for Norah in the kitchen.”

“Isn’t that a waste of time? The shower? If you’re doing practice right, you’ll end up sweaty.” She licked her lips, as if she hadn’t done enough teasing today.

He snagged the waistband of her jeans and pulled her to him. “If I don’t shower, I won’t be able to concentrate. The smell of sex on me will make me think of getting you naked again, and I’ll get my ass handed to me on the ice.” The skin beneath his fingers quivered. “Make sure you make it to practice.”

“I will. I lost the race, after all.”

“If you give me your phone number, I can text you directions.”

She leaned in and kissed his lips quickly. “Already on your phone.”

  “Huh?”

“You left your phone on the charger. I added my number. Look under S for sexy.”

He released her and went to the nightstand where he’d left his phone. Sure enough, she’d added herself as Sexy Emma. “A regular name isn’t enough?”

“Well, I noticed you have interesting descriptions for some girls. You might want to think about a passcode for your phone. Some women might get annoyed by the nicknames. Anyway, Emma is pretty common. Wouldn’t want you to confuse me with someone else.”

“That will never be a problem.”

“I’ll probably be late getting to practice since I have to go home, but I’ll be there. Good luck.” She winked and walked out the door.

He needed to get his ass in gear so he wouldn’t be late.

  * * *

Emma went upstairs to the kitchen and packed up the remaining cake. Then she sat at the table trying not to look nervous. She shouldn’t be nervous. Norah was simply giving her a ride to the garage. This wasn’t some monumental bonding experience. And Sean wasn’t her boyfriend. Whatever his little sister thought or said would have no real impact on Emma’s life.

Somewhere behind her, she heard thundering on steps a moment before Norah appeared in the kitchen. “Ready to go?”

Emma stood and grabbed her cake. “If you have something else to do, I can take the bus.”

“No problem. I’ll drop you off before going to practice.”

  “You play?”

Norah laughed. “Hell, no. I still don’t even understand the game. My boyfriend, Kai, plays on the team with Tommy and Sean.”

So this was almost like a whole freaking family affair. Emma’s nerves surged up. She didn’t want any of these O’Malleys to misunderstand what was happening. That would be hard to do since she wasn’t even sure. She followed Norah out through the front of the house to her car parked at the curb. Once they were in and Norah started the engine, Emma asked, “You know where the garage Sean works at is, right?”

“Yeah.” Norah pulled away, and the silence in the car was far from comfortable. “So, you’re coming to practice tonight?”

  “Yep.”

“Practice is pretty boring. Games are better. Probably even more if you understand what’s going on. We go to practice because it’s fun to hang out and drink afterwards.”

  “We?”

“Girlfriends and wives of the players.”

Ah, crap. And there went another curse. Sean was definitely bad for her non-swearing lifestyle. “I’m not—”

Norah kept talking right over the top of her. “It’s laid-back and fun, though. At the bar, don’t let the puck bunnies get under your skin.”

  “Puck bunnies?”

“That’s what the guys call them. They’re like hockey groupies. Personally, I don’t see it. To me, they’re just girls out for a good time like the rest of us, but you know guys. They think everything is about them and how irresistible they are.”

Emma chuckled. For the baby sister, Norah was pretty smart.

“Anyway, my point is, they all like Sean. He’s a likable guy.”

  “He is.”

“But they’re not really any competition for you.”

  “Oh, it’s not—”

Norah raised a hand as she spoke, weaving through traffic. “I mean, I know I just met you and I have no place to offer advice. But Sean doesn’t bring his dates around for introductions if you know what I mean.”

Emma definitely knew. She was usually the nameless female sneaking out the door at 5 AM. Norah didn’t appear to need any response to what she’d said, however. She just kept talking.

“I know Sean must like you or he wouldn’t have asked you to come to practice. I’m totally sure he wouldn’t have asked me to take you to get your car.”

Emma had nothing to say. Norah wasn’t pointing out anything she didn’t already know. She was breaking all of her rules this weekend, but she believed she and Sean understood each other. Regardless of what Norah thought, Emma and Sean were not headed to coupledom. Sean wasn’t looking to settle down, and as mean as it might sound, Emma wasn’t willing to settle for someone like Sean.

Her mental pep talk did its job, and Emma smiled at Norah. “Thanks for the insight, but I thought this trip was supposed to be about you sharing embarrassing stories.”

Norah sighed. “Yeah, well, I thought about it, and I have nothing. Sean is the kind of guy that what you see is what you get. I don’t think he has a hidden side that sneaks out and trips him up.”

He’s a floater, Emma thought to herself. He floated through life, not really putting in any effort and being content with whatever came his way. She was familiar with floaters because she had a family of them. They were charming and, more important, fun. But you couldn’t count on them.

Norah pulled into the lot of the garage. “You want me to wait?”

“Nah. It’s ready for me. I just need to go in and pay.”

  “See you at the rink?”
<
br />   “I guess so. I’ll probably be a little late though.” She grabbed her bag and her cake and closed the door behind her. She walked into the office and handed Dominick her credit card. The cost was reasonable and only annoyed her because she’d paid Nicky to do it.

She immediately shoved the thought of Nicky away because it threatened to ruin everything about her day that had gone well—both the cake and the fantabulous orgasm. Thinking about Sean and having more of that brought her mood back up. She signed the receipt and took her keys from Dominick.

After she set her cake on the passenger seat, she started the engine. It rumbled in away that was nowhere near as sexy as Sean’s bike, but she owned her piece of junk and it would continue to get her places, at least for a while. She drove home, and instead of cutting up the cake and wrapping it for the freezer, she slid the entire thing into the fridge.

She desperately needed a shower. She should’ve taken Sean up on his offer, but it would feel weird to shower in a guy’s house when she’d known him less than a day. Stranger still was the fact that, after the day with him, she felt like she knew him better than guys she’d dated for a couple of weeks.

Stepping under the spray of the shower, she let the hot water rinse away any questions her mind developed. Sean was her weekend fling, someone to take her mind off her car and family trouble. She kept repeating that to herself whenever she thought about the night ahead and how much she was looking forward to it.

  * * *

Sean skated around the rink, dodging Kai and trying not to look for Emma. She’d said she’d come and that she’d be late. He knew better than to let a woman distract him while he played. It was bad enough during practice, so he needed to get it out of his system before their game. Just as he had the thought, a massive blur caught his attention, and before he could react, Kai slammed him into the glass.

  “Fuck.”

“Pay attention. I took it easy on you.” Kai skated away without another word.

“Easy on me, my ass.” Sean slowed his skating to catch his breath. At times like this, he was glad Kai was on their team. He was also happy Kai treated Norah well because Sean had no idea how many of them it would take to beat the crap out of him.

  Tommy skated by. “You okay?”
