Late Night Snack Page 2

by Lou Harper

Gabe knew he had little time left to act. He slipped his right hand into his pocket for the Vectron cord—a rope strong enough to hold a vampire—but kept his eyes locked on Flynn's. "Do you really like me?" he asked in a dreamy voice.

  "You bet."

  "Why?"

Flynn slid his hands to Gabe's zipper. "Because you're sweet and juicy like a ripe mango."

Gabe's cock hang limp as wet noodle. He didn't think the vamp would be pleased about it. "What will happen now?" He took a step back but his calves hit the edge of the bedframe. There was no room left. He had to make his move soon.

Flynn gave a smug grin. "I'll give you the best buggering of your life, then we'll have some real fun." He pushed against Gabe, looking nonplussed when Gabe resisted.

That wasn't exactly a confession, but Gabe had run out of options; he'd have to act fast. So, he slipped his right hand to Flynn's left wrist, but before he could make his move, the door burst open and Harvey blew in, still dressed in the purple dress.

Flynn spun around. "What the fuck?"

Harvey, eyes burning amber, rushed forward and punched Flynn square on the kisser. Harvey didn't weigh a whole lot but he put every ounce behind his fist. Flynn toppled over like timber.

Gabe swiftly took advantage of the situation—he grabbed the vampire's wrists and tied them together. He proceeded to hogtie Flynn, just to be on the safe side. Flynn started cursing and calling him names but Gabe ignored the racket. He turned to Harvey. "What the hell are you doing here? I had it under control."

"Yeah, I can see that." Harvey's glare swept from Gabe's naked chest to his open fly.

"It's not what it looks like. Just let it go, okay?" Gabe zipped himself up and put his shirt back on.

To his surprise, Harvey said, "Fine. So is he the one?"

"Not quite sure." Gabe patted Flynn down and found an Australian passport, a bundle of cash, and a cellphone. If Augustine was right about him, Flynn was arrogant enough to keep mementos. Gabe turned the phone on and looked for the photos. It took him a couple of seconds of scrolling before he found his evidence. He recognized the men from Augustine's pictures immediately. They were naked on the phone screen, apparently unconscious, and laying on the very bed Flynn now occupied. The rose pattern of the comforter was unmistakable.

He grabbed Flynn by the hair and shoved the phone into the vampire's face. "I know what you've been up to, so don't waste the bullshit on me. Why did you do it? Why did you turn them?"

Flynn tried to smile. "It was just a spot of fun. No harm, I made sure they got back to the club. Don't you have a sense of humor?"

Gabe let him go with disgust. "A joker from Down Under. Augustine will love it."

Harvey cast a glare of contempt at the figure on the bed before turning his attention to the door. Gabe followed Harvey's gaze and saw two strapping vampires standing there—Augustine's men.

  "The cavalry's arrived," Harvey announced.

"Take him away, boys," Gabe told the more senior-looking one of the two. "Oh yeah, your boss will want to see the pictures on this." He handed the phone over. His job was done.

"I'll drive if you don't feel up to it," Harvey offered when they got back to the SUV.

"No thanks, I'd rather get home in one piece." Gabe drove through the night streets in silence, trying to smother his irritation, and not quite succeeding.

Harvey, of course, couldn't let it be. "Something got your jockstrap in a bunch."

  "I'm fine."

"Uh-huh. If you grab that steering wheel any harder it'll break."

So Gabe let it all out. "You're a national threat. Code Red should be declared every time you step out the door. I told you to stay out of this case. Will you ever listen to me?"

Harvey glared back at Gabe in that stubborn way of his. "Not when you're about to have all your blood drained, no. Sorry."

"I was just about to wrap the guy up when you charged in."

"Well it doesn't make any difference then, does it? Job's done either way."

Gabe groaned. Arguing with Harvey was as useful as a hammer made of glass, yet he couldn't stop. Something else was bugging him and he wasn't even sure what. He cast about for ammunition. "And what about Jade?"

"What about her?" Harvey's voice tightened.

"Don't tell me you weren't marking your territory again when you dragged me outside. That could've ruined the whole operation."

"You got it all wrong, Angel. I was marking you as someone easy. It worked, didn't it?"

Gabe had to admit, wearing Harvey's love bite on his neck did identify him as a Happy Meal for vampires. "So it wasn't because you were jealous of Jade?"

Harvey snorted. "Oh you bet your sweet ass I was jealous. That tramp would sink her teeth into you in a heartbeat, given half a chance. But you know all that. What's really bothering you?"

  "Mmm."

Harvey poked Gabe on the arm. "Oh c'mon. Out with it."

So Gabe dug to the bottom of his unease. "This guy…I dunno, I didn't want you to be around him."

  "Why not?"

Gabe shrugged. "I wanted to nail his ass myself. He thought turning some clueless guy was a big joke. And hunting specifically for vegetarians, that's just spiteful. Like those assholes who did it to you."

  "Oh."

"It pisses me the hell off, and I didn't want you to have to deal with someone like that again, but of course, you had to barge in, as usual."

Harvey gave Gabe a Cheshire grin. "You're a big softie for me aren't you?"

Gabe knew he was but openly saying so would've been just too unmanly. So he grumbled something unintelligible and kept his eyes on the road.

Harvey pattered on. "I've made peace with my origins, but it feels good to collar a shit-head like that. You know, some people are just assholes. I think it's the lack of empathy. And when you make an asshole into a vampire, you're just making a bigger asshole."

"What's gonna happen with the two baby vamps?"

"They've already been placed with foster vampires. They'll be fine. Probably," Harvey added with a shade less conviction. "I turned out fine, right?"

Gabe parked the car behind their building. Darkness thick as marmalade filled their basement apartment. Before Gabe could turn on the lights Harvey tackled him. He grabbed Gabe by the hair and pulled him close for a hungry kiss, pressing a thigh against Gabe's groin.

"You really think I'm easy," Gabe said when he came up for air.

"Not by a long mile, Angel. But I like you hard."

Gabe chortled. "That was a terrible pun."

"Yeah, I know. I think you're rubbing off on me. Speaking of rubbing…" Harvey kneaded the growing bulge in Gabe's pants. "One of us got the short end of the nightstick earlier tonight."

"I'll be happy to rectify the situation. Can we have some lights?"

"Nope. There are no lights. You've just apprehended a dangerous criminal in a secret, unlit dungeon, and you have to rely on your other senses to keep him from escaping—like touch and hearing. And taste. Especially taste."

"What about my flashlight?" Gabe circled one of his arms around Harvey. With the other he slipped the pair of handcuffs off his belt.

"You lost it fighting my henchmen." Harvey stiffened in Gabe's arms.

"Right." Gabe clicked the cuff on one of Harvey's wrists, but Harvey quickly twisted in his arms. A scuffle ensued and they tumbled onto the floor. They kept tussling on the carpet—it was a play fight, with just enough real struggle to make it exciting. Eventually, they bumped into something solid. There was a crash and a dull thump. Gabe landed on top of Harvey and finally got Harvey's other wrist secured too. Of course, Harvey could break the cuffs any time he wanted, but pretending was part of the game.

Gabe slipped a hand to Harvey's groin and found…nothing there. Oh right, Harvey must've been tucking. Well, that wouldn't do. Gabe peeled off one layer of panties, only to discover another pair underneath, these a much tighter fit.

>   Giving up all pretense of resisting, Harvey lifted his hips to help Gabe free his cock. He sighed with relief. "You must be the good cop, after all. I'll confess everything, just promise to be merciful with me."

"Can't do that." Gabe ruthlessly swallowed Harvey's cock. Harvey's nuts were still MIA, and that was slightly weird, but when your boyfriend was a vampire with a fondness for role playing, weird was normal. Gabe deep-throated Harvey's cock long enough to have Harvey make all sorts of desperate sounds. However, he had other plans. He reached for the pepper spay holder on his belt and took out a bottle of lube. He prided himself in being well prepared.

As Gabe's slick fingers breached Harvey's hole, Harvey cried out, "This is police brutality!"

Without stopping what he was doing, Gabe pushed himself up face-to-face with Harvey. His eyes had gotten used to the dark, enough to make out the whites of Harvey's own eyes and the glint of teeth. "You have the right to remain silent," he said in an assertive tone.

"Don't wanna," Harvey quipped back, moaning as he pushed himself against Gabe's fingers.

"Anything you touch will be used against you."

The flimsy chain holding the handcuffs together snapped, and Harvey shoved his hand into Gabe's pants, taking hold of Gabe's cock. "Is that a promise?"

Gabe continued. "You have the right to a speedy rogering."

Harvey tugged on Gabe's shaft. "You talk too much."

"Oh really? Don't say I haven't read your rights." Gabe shoved his trousers down as far as he could, lined himself up, and drove his cock into Harvey's ass in one smooth motion.

Harvey took a deep, whimpering breath. "Oh what a big baton you have, Officer."

Gabe hooked his arms around Harvey's legs and leaned forward to be able to nuzzle and kiss Harvey while they fucked. Fortunately, Harvey was exceptionally flexible. The white boots dangled in the air—unlacing them would've been far too much trouble.

Gabe and Harvey had had made love in many ways, including slow and sweet, but this wasn't one of those times. Gabe knew when Harvey was in the mood for hard, pile-driving sex, and he was happy to oblige. They made guttural animal sounds while Gabe rammed his cock into Harvey again and again, Harvey digging his fingers into Gabe's buttocks, urging him to thrust harder and faster.

"I'm close," Gabe groaned into Harvey's mouth.

Harvey took Gabe's thumb between his lips. His newly descended eyetooth punctured the skin, and he sucked on it. It couldn't have been more than a few drops of blood, but the ensuing rush pushed them both over the edge.

"Oh, Angel," Harvey moaned as Gabe came deep inside him.

Gabe collapsed onto Harvey in a sweaty, panting heap. He rolled off but he took Harvey's hand, lifted it to his lips and kissed the knuckles. They must've made an interesting, albeit obscene picture—him in uniform but pants around his ankles, and Harvey in boots and a purple dress pushed up to his armpits. "You're the crazy to my glue." He kissed Harvey's fingers again.

Harvey rolled to his side to face Gabe. "Aren't you just poetic tonight?"

  "It must be the moon."

  "The moon is waning."

  "Exactly."

Harvey planted his chin on Gabe's chest. "Have you ever thought of putting on a frock? You might like it."

"No way. I'd look like J. Edgar Hoover in a dress."

"Ooh! I could totally work with that. I'd be the young special agent courting your favor." He was plotting already, Gabe knew it from his voice. "We'll need one of those big, old-style desks. Maybe a rolltop. Mmm…this could be hot."

"Pervert." Gabe sighed, wonder where he'd find a rolltop desk and a dress to fit his broad shoulders.
