Rescuing His Mate Page 16

  “What are you looking at?”

“Looking for.” She informed him loftily and he gave a quick shrug.

  “That too.”

“These signs you were so adamant about, you know the one’s that made me an idiot for going past them.” She felt him move against her. His eyes searched the landscape ahead. He knew there were signs all over the point. Name signs, warning signs, but for the life of him he couldn’t see even one.

“There around.” He informed her. Suddenly sidestepping the issue when he couldn’t immediately point one out. He reached out and opened the passenger door for her. “In you go.”

“Perhaps we should take a walk along the way and see all of these signs?” She offered quietly. But her eyes challenged him, and an Alpha never liked to be challenged.

“They may have blown down in the storm…” He offered on a small shrug and she wet her lips, sensing victory.

“May have?” She lifted just one brow and folded her arms across her chest.

“Possibly due to the curse and magic. Which I can’t be held responsible for.” Isaac offered and she pulled her head back on her neck and grinned at him.

“An apology would sound good right about now, don’t you think?” She gave him a wide eyed innocent look.

“No. You have no need to apologise to me, love.” He motioned for her to get in the car. She shifted her weight onto one leg and stared up at him.

“I guess we have a standoff because I’m not going anywhere until…”He reached out and yanked her against his body. Her hands hit his chest, her head snapped back and his lips were on hers before she could even think about finishing her sentence. He devoured her with heady kisses that made sure she didn’t give a damn about the signs, an apology or where they were.

When he finally let her up for air he nuzzled into her neck and let his tongue run over the fast beating pulse there. “I apologise.” He growled against her ear. Her hands snaked up his chest and onto his shoulders and she jumped up into his arms, her legs wrapped around his waist and she nipped at his lobe.

“And that cottage is still rented until tomorrow morning at ten.” She hissed against his ear and felt the world spin around her as he whirled her around and stalked back towards the cottage.

“I may need to replace the bed by then, it’s kind of lucky I make them.” He growled his intention against her neck. She was certain of one thing. There wouldn’t be a damn Vampire jumping out at her here. At least, there had better not be.

  The End.
