Thanks to Brian Morton for proofing “Orientation” against professional ruin, and to Meghan Jablonski, PhD, for reading “The Strange Situation” for accuracy. “The Strange Situation” grew out of a talk I gave to the Phi Alpha Society at NYU, to which I was invited by Jessica Leif; “The Uncertainty Principle” came out of a talk I gave at the Mockingbird Conference, to which I was invited by David Zahl. Thanks to them for the inspiration.
The writing of such a book requires a support team of mental and physical health professionals. I am indebted to Libby Kessman, Drs. Kristina Eipl and Katherine Fichtel, Liat Forti, and Donna Vida for morale restoration and maintenance.
Special thanks to Dr. Silvia Bell for the interview, and for an enjoyable game.
Deepest gratitude, highest hopes, and purest love to my first creative nonfiction writing class, fall semester of 2014.
O my beloved cat!
