  Triboan (TRI-bone)—Southern land occupied by garns

  Trillilium Castle—Seat of Darksea, an Elder kingdom

  Turret (TUR-et)—Small projecting tower

  Unibeast (UN-i-beest)—Unicorn

  Vale of Shadows—Enchanted forest valley wreathed in clinging mists and located in the heart of the kaba forest on the border of Rivenn and Westerland. Forsaken by most wildlife, it swarms with insects. A branch of weild Aenor cuts through the Vale of Shadows.

  Vanora—Daughter of Devlon, King of Darksea

  Varaedel (Ve-RAY-del)—Glindenn’s Shraen

  Viadrel (VY-ah-drel)—Flames of Virtue

  Waeven (WAY-ven)—Spider-like animal

  Walls of Death—Enclosed passageway that could be shut off to capture attackers

  Ward—Environ within a castle; also known as a bailey

  Watchguard—In Elder kingdoms, members of the garrison assigned to keep watch over the castle walls and gatehouse

  Watergate—Gate leading to and from a body of water

  Weild (WEELD)—River

  Weild Aenar (WEELD AY-e-nar)—Wild River

  Weild Rivenn (WEELD RIV-en)—Rivenn’s River

  Weild Whistan (WEELD WHIS-stan)—White River; Kindren name for the Elder’s White Feather River

  Weilo (WY-lo)—Tree with weeping branches and long leaves that grows beside a river or in damp places

  Weilton (WEEL-ton)—A guardian of Rivenn

  Weithein Faen (WY-then FANE)—An estuary

  Welke (WELL-key)—Giant creature of prey that is a cross between a dinosaur and a bird

  Westerland—Western Elder kingdom

  Whellein—Kindren land lying northeast of Rivenn

  Whhst—Soothing sound of endearment made by the Elder

  Whirlight (WHIR-lite)—Large; ungainly white bird

  Whispan (WHIS-span)—Small tree with lacy white foliage

  Whistledown—A coastal Elder kingdom

  Whyst (WHIST)—A spirit sword, defends both flesh and spirit

  Willet—A diminutive owl found in the north lands

  Willowa—A huntsman’s wife and maker of soap who is the mother of Caedmon, residing in Westerland

  Wingabeast (WING-ah-beest)—Winged horses

  Wingen (WING-en)—Small, colorful bird

  Wreckers—Elder who lure ships to their doom

  Yellowroot—Edible tuber
