Beast (Diablos MC Book 1) Page 5

by Eden Rose

I shake my head. “If that’s true, why is he avoiding me?”

Dragon chuckles. “He’s avoiding you for more reasons than I can even tell you. That’s something you will have to ask him.”

“Dragon, what’s going to happen to me?”

“If you follow directions, you’ll be okay. You just have to remember that we’re here to help not to ruin your life.”

“Yeah,” I mumble into his shirt. “I just… I’m lonely.”

“Did he leave you with a cell phone?”

“No!” I shout. “He took the phone from me in case Roman or Charger tried to call me. I’m alone here. I’m alone in so many ways.”

Why is everything so much louder in here when I’m thinking about all the things I’m missing? Damn it.

Dragon rubs my back soothingly. “I can’t tell you what to do but if he’s avoiding you, it’s probably for something more than just club business. Bella, you have to do what you want. However, I will tell you there is no place safer for you.”

  Safe.

What does that word even mean? I’m so lost and confused I don’t know where I’m going. Well, I can tell you I’m not leaving here since I have no way of leaving.

“Why are you here?” I question.

“I’m here because we need to have a talk about your dad.”

It was as if he threw a bucket of water on me. I feel a chill run through my whole body at the thought of my dad. It’s funny I’ve been in Beast’s house for the past couple of days and I’ve already forgotten about my past life.

“What about him?” I push my body off his and sit in the recliner across from him. I curl my legs underneath me to get more comfortable.

Dragon takes a seat across from me with a determined look in his eye. “Do you know where he would have gone?”

After my mom died, I started to find different ways to cope with my life. One of those ways was school. I began to over extend myself in school to get the best grades and join the most clubs there too. It wasn’t as if I was trying to break away from the club, it was at that moment I knew how dangerous the club was.

I snort. “I have no idea. I don’t know where he would have gone off to or anything like that. He didn’t talk to me about that much since I started college.”

“He doesn’t have a safe house?”

“The Spiders had something outside of town where some of the guys would go if they are running from their wives or something. I doubt he’s there since he ratted.”

I could handle the fact my father was a biker. I could handle the fact he wasn’t the suit wearing type of guy. I couldn’t handle the fact he ratted on the club. Then he ran off to who-knows-where leaving me all alone.

  Vulnerable.

When someone rats on outlaws, there’s payback and it will be paid one way or another.

  Dragon smiles. “There’s nothing?”

“Did Beast send you over here to pressure me? I can’t tell you what I don’t know.”

“No, he didn’t. I’m over here to see if you know anything so we can get our shit back in order.”

“Well, if Beast wants to know something, maybe he should come and ask me about it.”

The smug asshole smiles across from me. He’s a handsome guy with his leather vest on and that smile which promises naughty fun. “You have a little fire in you.”

“I watched my mother be killed in the street. What do you think would happen to a person? I have to finish my homework. If you speak to my captor, please tell him I’m bored.”

I climb off the chair without looking back at him. If I’m going to be treated like someone being held captive, I might as well act the part.

  “Oh, Bella!”

I turn to look at him for a brief second. I notice he has a bag in his hand I didn’t see before for some reason. “What?” I’m staring at that bag as if it’s going to bite me.

He walks over to me handing it off to me as he brushes past me. “Here’s your stuff from your dad’s house. Your books, clothes, laptop, makeup and those sexy bras you have are in there too.”

“You went through my drawers?” I admonish.

Dragon winks at me. “Yep. I didn’t pack your plastic pleasure boyfriend though. Wouldn’t want to make Beast jealous!”

I feel the urge to hit him. He went through my stuff? What the actual fuck. He found my vibrator? I’ve never used the thing before, but that’s sacred!

“Oh my god! You went through my shit?”

He smiles at me. “I packed your sexy thongs for you to wear with Beast!”

“Well, when you talk to Beast, tell him I’m bored as fuck and I’m ready to go home!” I shout as I stomp with my loot to my room.

I pass a room that has a pad lock on it towards the end of the hallway right before you get to the bathroom. I’ve never seen a room with a pad lock on the door. With everything I am, I stop myself from going in there to explore. I want to know what is in that room. Anything to learn more about Beast.

  Beast my captor.

The man who I know so little about but am living in his house.

It isn’t until I hear the door slam shut, I throw myself on the bed with all my stuff.

Have you ever gone to someplace new and you open your bag which smells like home? That’s how I feel right now. I smell home in this bag.

“Who can tell me the answer to the problem on the board?” Mr. Hernandez asks the class.

Of course, I knew the answer before he even finished the problem! I can tell when my classmates get tired of me having all the answers because their eyes start to narrow as they look at me and their answers get more pissy. I can’t help it if I use deductive reasoning and am able to find out the answers quicker than every one else.

I raise my hand knowing I’m about to piss off the rest of the class I’m in. It’s not my fault that they don’t do the homework or care about the class.

“Yes, Bella,” the teacher calls on me right when the door opens.

In walks our principal. “I need to see Bella please.”

Everyone does an assortment of “oohs” and “ahhs” as I gather up all my stuff to leave the room. What the hell could have happened where I would be called out of class?

“One of your family’s friends are here to come take you home. I’m sorry, but there seems to have been an accident at home,” the principal says to me.

I furrow my eyebrow while trying to keep up with how fast he’s walking. “What do you mean?”

He smiles weakly. “I’m sorry, Bella. You’ll have to wait until you get home.”

Roman’s standing in front of the principal’s office with his whole biker getup on. I can see the teachers stopping to do a double take on him along with some of the students. He’s not a bad looking guy. He’s an asshole who will kill you if you look at him wrong.

“What are you doing here?” I ask him cautiously.

  “Let’s go.”

He takes a couple of steps towards me but I push him off so he can’t grab me. “I’m not going anywhere until you tell me what’s going on!” I yell at him, my frustration has hit a whole new ceiling.

Roman’s fingers wrap around my arm and he drags me out of the school. He throws me on the back of his bike without another word to me and without listening to a single one of my protests about treated this way. I should have known I couldn’t question him like that in front of a civilian.

We rode in silence for a few moments until we pulled down the street where my mom and I live. The street is blocked off by tape, police cars and ambulances. Roman stops the bike right outside of the tape to let me off.

“What is going on?” I yell fearing the worse. There has to be a reason why I was dragged out of school to come see this, right? I didn’t get dragged out of school to play hooky.

My mom wouldn’t allow me to do that.

  There’s no way.

I hop off the bike and begin running towards a gurney they are zipping up in a black body bag. “Excuse me!
I’m looking for mom. She lives in this house,” I point to the house behind me.

I see a whole bunch of people surrounding us and all I see are a sea of blank faces. Not one of them give me any answers as to what happened to my mom.

The EMT is shifting on his feet as he looks through me to get the officer’s attention. “The daughter is here,” he calls over to the officer.

I turn to look to see who he’s talking to. My eyes meet a tired police officer who looks to be about fifty years old and he’s been in the field a long time. He walks over to me with a sad smile on his face. “Are you Bella?”

  “Yes.”

“I’m so sorry. There was an accident outside of your house and your mom was shot.”

My head slams back. “What kind of accident are you talking about?” I bark.

He looks tiredly at the EMT guy and he leaves for us to be alone. “There was a shoot out in front of your house. Unfortunately, your mom was caught up in it.”

“I don’t understand.” There’s no way my mom would have walked into the middle of a gun fight to go to her car. Why the hell would she have done that? There has to be more to the story than I’m being told.

“We have the man who shot your mom in custody right now. He’s being questioned. Your dad is on his way to come pick you up. I’m so sorry, Bella.”

At that point, he leaves me standing in the middle of the street with my knees giving out. I watch as they wheel my mother’s body into the car to take her to morgue. Everything that’s happening around me seems like I’m watching a movie. Nothing is computing in my brain.

  Beast

Since the little asshole isn’t dying, I’m not doing too much to stop the blood. He’s claiming he’s dying but he doesn’t know the first thing about death. Death isn’t something you joke around with and this prick will know first hand he’s dying when I take his life.

“Yo, Beast! You in here?” Prince calls from the front door.

  “Yeah, man. Come quick.”

I can hear him grunting about coming all the way over here and then me making him walk to me. Oh well. Even though he’s the acting president, I’m not going to bend over backwards to kiss his ass. I’m not the ass kissing type.

“What the fuck is going on?”

“Well,” I begin while pointing at Beto’s bleeding body, “he made a deal with Roman’s crew.”

Prince snarls at Beto then kicks him in the gut. “Fuckin’ asshole!”

I point over to the table that’s filled with his coke. “He’s also started sellin’ the shit too.”

He kicks him again and Beto howls out. “I’m so sorry! Please help me!”

Prince and I look over at the coke and then down at him together. “You want our help?” Prince asks. “If you want our help, you belong to the Diablos. Do you understand?”

I know what he’s asking him to do and that’s to be our mule. He’s going to have Beto shuttle between the two clubs to see what is going on over there and what their plans are with Bella.

Speaking of Bella… I wonder what she’s doing right now. I wonder how pissed off she is that I’m not there or if she even cares. My dick thickens in my jeans at the thought of Bella’s lush lips pressed into a luscious pout when I turned her down the other day.

“Yes. I’ll do whatever you want. You have to protect me. The Spiders are going to kill me if I don’t get them the coke on the table by the end of the day.”

“I don’t give two shits about The Spiders MC,” I growl. “What I care about is you knowing exactly what you are agreeing to.”

  “I know,” he murmurs. “Help!”

I nod my head to Prince. “What do you want to do with him?”

“I want to burn his fuckin’ body and show people what happens when you fuck with The Diablos. What am I going to do with him?” He nods. “He’s going to give me all that coke on the table and get his happy ass healed up so he can do something for us. Call Dragon.”

I pull out my phone to call Dragon for him to come and patch Beto up to take him back to the club. We need to make sure we don’t have anyone watching us when we do our business in here. I already know that kid is watching us.

  “Yo,” Dragon answers.

“We need you to bring a cage and your supplies over to Beto’s. We’ve got to clean up.”

“On it. By the way, have you spoke to Bella lately?”

“No, why? I’ve been doing some runs.”

He mumbles under his breath. “We went to check on her earlier and she’s pissed as fuck you took the car.”

I chuckle. “Lock down means lock down. She can’t go to school. She can’t leave the house without a patched brother there.”

“Maybe you should tell her that. I don’t know, man. She’s fucking furious.”

Of course, I knew the little princess would get bored with her new lock down experience. I’m not a complete monster for wanting to keep her locked up in my house to make sure she’s safe. I’m doing it because if The Spiders get their hands on her, they are going to turn that girl out to everyone. She won’t be safe anymore.

Prince looks at the coke on the table then at me. “Bag it and we’re taking it back with us to test it. I want to know exactly what is in that shit before we sell it. The last thing we need is for people to trace back all the OD’d people to us. Fuckin’ pansies.”

Beto groans from knowing how fucked he is. The asshole got greedy and now he’s going to pay for all the bull shit he started. He knows he’s going to die, he just doesn’t know how he’s going to die. That’s something I feed off of. When killing a wannabe gangster, they always act so tough as if they are more than they are. Like our friend, Beto, over here. He got cocky and now I’m not going to tell him when I’m going to end his life. I’m going to let him think he’s safe for the moment.

  Then gut him.

“I’m so fucked. I’m gonna die! You guys don’t even know!” He groans on the floor.

I kick him in the gut with my steel toed biker boots. I hear the desired effect I wanted to hear before speaking to him again. “Yeah, you are gonna die. How and when? I don’t know just yet. First, you’re gonna tell us what you did and why you did it.”

Beto’s choking on something but we don’t help him out. D’s in the living room bagging everything up while Prince and I stand around Beto’s sputtering body. He’s back pedaling trying to figure out how to dig himself out of trouble.

  Not going to happen.

I stick my boot in his stomach to get him to roll over. “It’s your lucky day. I don’t really wanna kill you today. I’ve got a hot little number waiting for me at home.”

I’m exaggerating but I doubt Bella would be pleased if I came back bloody from shooting this asshole. I wonder if Bella would know it’s like to be a biker’s old lady. If she would know how to keep her mouth shut and to take my dick. A little piece like her would just take my dick any way I gave it to her.

  It’s decided.

After I take care of Beto, I’m going home and taking Bella. She’s going to be mine in every sense of the word. I won’t take no for an answer.

“Let’s pack him up and get the fuck outta here!” I yell over Beto screaming about being in pain.

I have a woman to make mine.

  Bella

All my clothes seem old fashioned to me. Everything is up to my collarbone and my skirts are down past my knees.

No wonder Beast isn’t interest in me. I’m a far cry from what he’s probably used to. Women in leather not a woman in plaid who’s only sexual experience was…

Just thinking about that makes me ill. What’s worse is the fact I’ve never experienced anything but that.

The person staring back at me in the mirror is someone I’m used to seeing. She’s a broken woman who’s trying to claw her way out of the horrible cards she’s been dealt. My father might not have been worth two shits, but he did pay for the house for me to live in. He didn’t pay for anything else in my life, though.
<
br />   My brown hair is duller than it normally is. It looks mousy without the normal hair products I use which isn’t a lot. Every time I go get my haircut, they try to talk me into every hair product under the sun. I don’t know what any of them do, I just like the attention they give me. The hair stylists at least act like they care about me even though I’m paying them.

My eyes look blank from confusion. I’m confused and scared and nervous and anxious… I’m everything and nothing at all- all at the same time.

I’m scared that Beast doesn’t want me because I’m not “hot” or whatever. I’m an average person with an average body. My chest are C cups, my waist is slim and my thighs rub together and my ass sticks out a little more than the rest of my back.

I don’t know the first thing about being hot or being attractive to a man like Beast. Plus, I’m still trying to wrap my mind around why I would want to.

The front door slams causing me to jump up quickly. I hear thunderous footsteps run towards my room making my heart beat faster in my chest. It isn’t until my door opens and shuts when I see a powerful man standing there, that I tense up. Beast is standing in front of me in all his glory.

His chest fills out that leather vest so well along with stretching the Henley underneath it. His powerful thighs are rock hard with the jeans barely covering them.

“Uh,” I murmur trying to come up with something to say to the man who’s larger than life in front of me.

He crosses the room with determination only stopping to hook my body in his arms before slamming me into the wall. The wall does little to cool my overly heated skin on the impact.

“Hi,” I manage to mumble out.

“I hear you have complaints,” he states.

I’m completely focused on the way his lips move around each word he says. I don’t register he’s asked me a question until he repeats it.

  “Where did you go?”

He shakes his head. “You know not to ask a biker that question.”

“Why can’t I have a car?” I ask with my body still wrapped around his. My feet barely reach graze the floor below us.
