I press my bottom into his, rocking my hips and feeling his obvious desire grazing my backside. My eyes roll in my head and everything fades from the room but him. I give myself up to my senses and his fingertips stroking up my bare thighs and his lips on my shoulder drives me crazy with longing. I turn and press the length of my body against his, going up on tiptoe to whisper into his ear.

“Take me home, Dominic, and touch me everywhere,” I breathe and I hear a low growl emit from his throat.

“You don’t have to tell me twice, sweetheart.” He replies before lifting me effortlessly into his arms and turning to our gathering of friends. “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m sorry but I’ve shared as much of my beautiful girlfriend as I’m willing to share for tonight. We’ll see you later.” He declares and everyone smiles, calling their goodbyes.

The look on Shazza’s face takes me by surprise as she pouts but has a threatening smile at the corner of her mouth and she simply blows us a kiss, no protest or whinging. I wave goodbye to our friends before Dominic strides away and doesn’t put me down until we are safely deposited in a taxi, heading for his place.

  Chapter 20

  Christmas

I alight the car and look up at the cottage, getting a strange feeling of coming home, even though I’ve only been here once before. I smile at how quaint the place looks with snow covered roof and twinkling Christmas lights in the window.

“Do you plan on coming inside to get warm or are you standing out here the whole evening?” Dominic calls from the side of the house after putting our bags inside. I roll my eyes and he grins.

I make my way indoors and am pleased to see a log fire already raging in the fireplace. I take off my hat, scarf and gloves and stand before the fire to warm my hands. Dominic comes through from the kitchen with mugs of hot chocolate. I thank him and toss my coat over the back of the sofa before slipping off my boots and curling up on the sofa to warm through with my drink.

“Look what I remembered.” Dominic slips a DVD into the player and Home Alone starts to play. I grin up at him, surprised he remembered. He winks before settling in next to me.

“I haven’t done this in years.” I admit and Dom nods.

“Me either. I’m usually out doing a bar crawl before hitting the clubs. I never thought my first Christmas living in London would be spent here.”

“Would you rather be out clubbing? I turned down a nice wedge of money not to play tonight,” I chuckle.

“Midget, there is nowhere else I would rather be than here with you. With any luck we’ll be snowed in here until after new year.”

A few hours later we have watched our movie, eaten more than our weight in Christmas pudding and are sipping snowballs whilst decorating the tree. I hang a shiny silver bauble and step back to admire the festive decorations. The room is being lit only by the fire and the gentle twinkling of the tree lights. Dominic hangs his last bauble and comes to stand beside me.

“Do you want to put the angel on top, sweetness?”

I nod and lift the lid on the box, gently pulling back the paper to reveal a beautiful white angel with delicate golden wings and I lift it out to admire the tree topper. I look up to the top of the tree before trying to source something to stand on so I can reach the top.

“Here.” Dominic offers before lifting me on one strong forearm. I wrap one arm around his shoulder to stabilise myself before straightening my back and popping the angel in place. I smile and look down into Dominic’s face. He looks truly happy and he lowers me down his body but continues to hold me close, pressed to the length of his him.

“Let me get your gifts to put underneath the tree.” He winks before leaving the room. I take the minute of his absence to check on his gift and once I see all is okay I go upstairs to get his wrapped gifts from my luggage. I meet him on the top of the stairs and he is laden with gifts. I widen my eyes.

  “All for me?”

“Yep.” He grins. “I can’t take all the credit though, Shaz was more than helpful.” He winks before heading back downstairs.

I quickly grab his wrapped presents and go join him in the drawing room to put his gifts with mine. We step back and admire the view. In a weird way I feel guilty having left Melody with Pops and Val for the holidays but flying here would have been too traumatic for her and she adores Val.

“What are you thinking?” Dom asks and I shrug.

“Just that I feel a little bad not being with Melody. Sometimes I have to remind myself she’s a kitten, not a baby. To me she is my baby though, if you know what I mean?”

Dom grins but nods in agreement. “I’ve thought the same. Can you imagine the mess she would make of our perfect Christmas tree? She is like our baby though. Do you think she will get jealous when we have another one?”

I blink a frown up at him. “Another kitten?” I instantly look to the boxes under the tree in case he’s housed another kitten under there.

Dominic laughs, knowing what I am checking for. “No, not another kitten, Tara, and I promise, no puppies under the tree either. I mean when we have a baby.”

My eyebrows go up and my mouth moves but I can’t form words, not knowing what to say. Dominic seems to find my reaction amusing though and he pulls me to his chest, brushing my hair from my face. “Don’t look so worried, sweetheart. I’m not saying we should start trying for a baby right away. It is something in our future though, isn’t it?”

I smile, feeling relieved he isn’t talking in the immediate future. I know we practically live together already but I’d like to think we would be wearing rings before I stop taking the pill. Call me old fashioned but I kind of have this idea of there being a home and vows before babies.

“Yes, Dominic, it’s in our future. Just not the near future.”

He smiles down at me and there is definitely relief in his eyes. He kisses me tenderly and I press my body to the length of his, enjoying his unique scent and the taste of advocate on his breath. An involuntary groan slips past my lips and Dominic’s kiss turns from tender to thorough and full of fervour. He gently guides me back to the sofa, tossing me down beneath him and I grin up at him then remember I can’t do this, not right now.

Before I have chance to try and stop him he is covering me, his kisses coming with more urgency and I put my hands on his shoulders.

“Dominic, babe, I can’t do this right now.” I apologise and he stops the trail of hot kisses he is laying down my jaw, pulling back to look at me with confusion on his face.

“What’s bothering you, sweetheart?” He rests up on his elbows, concern furrowing his brow. “I know you wanted me last night and I can see it’s killing you to resist again now, so what’s the matter?”

I bite my lip and smile at my obvious arousal. “Nothing is bothering me, I just don’t want to spoil the surprise.”

His head tilts to the side and his brow furrows, I see he is thinking, trying to guess the surprise. Without warning he starts to unbutton my top and I grab his hands with a giggle. “What are you doing?” I wriggle beneath him.

“My surprise, it’s new underwear, I want to see,” he explains, making to unfasten my buttons again. I giggle and bat his hands away.

“It’s not underwear, Goliath,” I laugh and he stills again, looking even more confused and thoughtful. I watch with amusement as I see the cogs turning in his head and I practically see the lightbulb above his head pop up.

  “You got your nipple pierced?”

I shake my head. “Nope, no nipple ring, babe. I don’t want you to guess, it’s not Christmas day yet. Guess in the morning.”

He pouts playfully, his fingers trailing down the side of my neck to the mound of my breasts. “But, I want you now,” he says in a teasing whinge which makes me giggle.

“I want you too, Dominic, but it’s only Christmas eve.” I run my fingertip across his pouty bottom lip with a smile.

Dominic’s eyes lighten and he looks over to the fireplace before a huge grin splits his face. “Technical
ly it’s Christmas day. It’s after midnight already.”

I look to the mantel clock and see he is right. I giggle at the excitement dancing in his eyes. I relent and lay my hands above my head.

“Okay, Dominic. Unwrap me.” I instruct and he gives me a satisfied grin before resuming his oral exploration of my neck and I close my eyes, letting the anticipation take over. I get a thrill of excitement as he unbuttons my top and runs his lips across the mound of my breasts, he pulls the half buttoned top back and blinks.

“You do have new underwear.” He grins up at my new bra and I wink.

“That’s not the surprise,” I mewl, my hips undulating beneath him, wanting him to keep working my body. “Keep going,” I breathe. And he does, nibbling my pert nipples through my bra and unfastening the last of my buttons. The right side falls back and he continues to kiss down my tummy, heading south for my tummy button. Once his lips reach my waistband his tongue follows the vertical line, from right hip over the left hip and he pulls back the left side of my top before he predictably stills.

I hold my breath, my body still, knowing he has seen it and I look down to see his reaction. His mouth hangs open and he gently rolls me onto my opposite hip to get a better look.

“Tara, you… You let me…” His eyes flick up to mine and I’m grinning, biting my lip before a smile breaks out over his swollen lips. “You branded yourself with my name?”

I look down at the tattoo running from my hip up to my ribs. Lucy did an amazing job of designing the tattoo of a pair of my lucky headphones, the wire coming down onto my hip and wrapping around itself to spell out Dominic’s name. It’s still a little sore but it’s my first pretty large tattoo and I love it, more so because it’s for Dom.

“You like it?” I squeak and Dom’s eyes leave my skin in surprise before looking back to his name, permanently inked into my skin.

“Like it? Sweetheart, I fucking love it! I love the fact that you love me enough to do this. I love that it’s my name on your beautiful body. I love you.”

I grin to myself. I’m glad he likes his first Christmas surprise and I don’t flinch when he softly traces his finger over his name before kissing my delicate skin. “Thank you,” he murmurs against my hip and I close my eyes as he continues what he started, moving below the waistband of my jeans.

“Merry Christmas, Dominic,” I reply with a satisfied smile, letting him take my body, after all, it is labelled to him.

The next day we gorge on rich foods, eating ourselves into a coma while watching Christmas movies, including Home Alone, again.

We promised we wouldn’t open gifts until after 3 o’clock, as per his past tradition from when he spent Christmases in this very cottage. By 2 o’clock we are both itching to sneak a gift from beneath the tree and after so much food we are both feeling sleepy and a little lax. Dominic goes to the window and looks out over the roaming snow covered hills.

I come to stand behind him, wrapping my arms around his waist and resting my cheek against his back. “What are you thinking?”

He pulls me around to stand beside me and smiles down at me. “You really want to know?”

I nod, grinning because from the amusement in his emerald orbs I know it’s something funny. “Yeah, I do.”

He looks to the window before looking back down at me. “I wanna build a snowman.”

I giggle and look outside, there is far too much untouched snow out there, miles of it for as far as the eye can see. It’s just screaming for us to take it by storm and put our mark on it.

“Come on.” I tug him towards the coat stand. We throw on our layers in record time, both of us snorting and laughing at how childish this, is but we don’t care.

I get ready before him and bolt through the door. Heading to the bottom of the garden and immediately starting to make a ball to roll in the snow.

“Wait up,” Dom laughs, starting his own snowball. “You do the head and I’ll do the body.”

I burst out laughing and he looks over at me, his perfect white smile gleaming. I carry on rolling my snowman head and I purposely avoid rolling in Dominic’s tracks to maximise the amount of snow that sticks to my substantially sized snowball. Within a few minutes I’m hot and breathing hard, my breath visible in the cold winter air and I squint over at Dominic a few meters away. He is bent over shoving a really large snowman’s body and I take a moment to admire his denim clad arse.

“Wow,” I gasp. Dominic must hear me because he straightens and turns to see what I said.

“What? Impressed with the size of my balls?” He laughs and even though I am impressed with his snowman body, it’s actually his body that got me excited. I shake my head with a grin.

“You’re an egotistical arse, Dominic, you know that?” I tease, folding my arms and he holds his hands out in innocence.

“Why? The way I see it, babe, we are two sides to the same coin.” He starts towards me and I flick a questioning eyebrow at him.

  “Oh, yeah? How so?”

He stands before me and smiles down at me as I scoop up a clump of snow from a low brick wall beside me. “Well, your heads, I’m tails.” He smirks and I tip my head. “You give amazing head and I have a huge tail.”

My mouth drops open and I fake indignation, tossing the snow in my hand at him. It hits him right on the chin and he stops laughing abruptly, his eyes flashing in warning and I bite my lip to stop my giggle. He swipes the snow off of his chin before slowly shaking his head.

“Do you really want to start a war you can’t win, midget?” He growls and I start to back away as he squats and scoops up a huge paw full of snow.

“No! Dominic…” I giggle, already making a run for the cover of a trellis but scooping up another snowball to arm myself.

“Just remember this much, you instigated this, sweetheart,” he calls, stalking towards the trellis and as he rounds on me I let out an excited squeal, running around the other side and tossing my snowball at him, hitting him on the back. He turns quickly, launching his snowball and I duck, watching it sail on by. I howl with laughter at the disappointment on his face but he swipes up more snow. My eyes widen and I run for the sheds further up the garden. Once hidden around the back I quickly roll another ball in my hands and creep to the edge of the shed.

“You’re quick, Tara, I’ll give you that. Now bring your pretty little arse out here and face your man.” He demands in a playful tone. I’m biting my lip to supress my laughter and when I lean out to get a view of the patio I see him stalking towards the sheet covered patio furniture. I creep out behind him and launch my snowball, striking him square on the back of his head and he spins as I whoop and take off down the garden. I see his snowball come flying past, barely missing my shoulder which only makes me laugh harder.

“Right, now you’re in for it.” I hear him growl and I run as fast as I can, slipping in the snow as I try to take a sharp left behind some low hedges. I stop and squat down to arm myself again. I creep in my squatted position to the side of the hedge and pop my head around, looking around the garden. When I don’t see him I dare to inch out further, my heart pounding with excitement. I listen when I can’t see him but hear nothing and I frown.

“Nice try, midget,” Dom says from above me and before I can look up he dumps what seems like a bucket of icy snow over my head. I duck and gasp as it falls beneath the collar of my coat and down my neck. I try to catch my breath as the cold makes me shiver and I hear Dominic’s deep gravelly laugh. I’m still panting out plumes of hot air when he squats in front of me. “Well, this gives a whole new meaning to the term snowblowing, baby girl,” he howls at his own joke and I shove him, hard on the shoulder and he falls on his arse.

I take the opportunity to leap up and I kick a load of snow into his face, laughing loudly at the shock on his face. He gasps from the chill.

“Who’s the snowblower now, baby?” I chuckle and he narrows his eyes at me. I pull my foot back to boot another load of snow at him but this time he grabs
my ankle, pulling me to the floor.

“Dom! No!” I yell before my butt hits the floor and the snow soaks my jeans. He launches himself over me, pinning me to the floor and holding my wrists in one hand above my head. I thrash, trying to break free but resistance is futile and he chuckles at my pathetic attempt to thrash him off.

“I wanna hear you beg, Tara.” He grinds out before pulling my jumper and coat up to bare my hip.

“No, Dominic,” I howl with laughter but he flicks snow over my hip, the chill taking my breath and making me writhe beneath him.

“Say please,” he laughs and flicks another handful of snow over my side. “Let’s cool down this hot little body of yours.”

I try to roll onto my front but his thighs are holding my legs flat and I pant below him as he throws a third heap of snow on my bare skin. “Please, Dominic, please.” I relent and he grins at me.

“I win?” He flicks his eyebrows and I laugh at the satisfaction on his face.

  “You win, baby.”

Without warning he rolls off me and pulls me on top of him. I pin his hands above his head and shake the snow out of my hair down onto him. He squints and laughs.

“Let’s make a snow angel,” he says before pulling me flat against him, spreading our joined hands out and I rest my legs on top of his.

We move our limbs in time, laughing as we make an angel shape in the snow around us. Once we have made our mark I take his face in my palms, kissing him hard. “You are such a sore loser.”

“You begged, Tara, I won.” He winks before kissing me hard and lifting me. Once steady on my feet he returns to the snowman’s temporarily forgotten head. He lifts it with ease and carries it to the readymade body, plonking it on top.

“I’ll be back in a minute.” I tell him before nipping indoors. I return a few minutes later with a scarf, a carrot and some pebbles from the front path. Dominic is just packing extra snow around the base of the snowman’s body to keep him stable and I hand him the carrot and pebbles. I wrap the scarf around the snowman’s neck and when Dominic steps back I laugh at the silly looking face.
