  About the Authors

  MAX ALLAN COLLINS is a Mystery Writers of America “Grand Master.” He is author of the Shamus-winning Nathan Heller historical thrillers (Better Dead) and the graphic novel Road to Perdition, basis of the Academy Award–winning film. His innovative Quarry novels led to a Cinemax TV series, and he is coauthor with his wife Barbara of the award-winning Trash ’n’ Treasures mystery series (Antiques Wanted, Barbara Allan). He has completed a dozen posthumous Mickey Spillane mysteries, and has directed and/or written two feature-length documentaries and six features.

  A. BRAD SCHWARTZ is the author of Broadcast Hysteria: Orson Welles’s War of the Worlds and the Art of Fake News. In 2013, he cowrote a documentary about the War of the Worlds broadcast for the PBS series American Experience, based in part on research from his senior thesis at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. As part of the university’s selective screenwriting program, he wrote Open House, a murder-mystery/comedy short film that premiered at the Traverse City Film Festival. He is currently a doctoral student in American history at Princeton University.
