After two days, life in Null returned to normal. The disappearance of Greg Cunningham did not affect daily life much and some people did not even know what happened. Life returned to nothing much happening in Null.

Fishing returned to normal and Father Fred returned to eating fresh fish.

A day after the service to mourn Greg Cunningham’s disappearance and apparent death another fisherman disappeared whilst fishing at night. This time a witness saw a disturbance in the water. As though the fisherman was fighting something in the water. Then there was silence. It happened exactly at low tide directly above the cod hole. The cod hole was a deep hole in Snapper Creek known to contain giant cod. Cod do not attack fishermen. The witness was a known identity who was known to catch what locals call river monsters. The unnamed witness was taken to the police station and assisted police with a full description of what he saw and heard.
