“So this is about your feelings?” My nostrils flare, because no matter how much I enjoy fucking her, I’m not ready to have the relationship talk. But the thought of her walking away stirs something almost primal inside of me. I place my palms on either side of her, so that she’s pinned between me and the shower wall. “Alright. Tell me how you feel, Brooklyn?”
“Does it matter?” She glares at me, a look missed with both anger and passion.
“Yes.”
She shakes her head. “This is such a mistake.”
Bullshit.
Well, maybe it’s not complete bullshit. But if it’s a mistake, then it’s the best fucking one I’ve ever made.
I crush her lips against mine, ready to prove how wrong she is.
“Ross.” My name is a moan vibrating against my mouth.
“You know you want this.” I cup her breast, playing with the tight nipple until her body melts against mine.
“That’s the problem,” she mumbles, rubbing against me, practically begging for my cock. “I want you too much.”
Her confession unravels me. I have to have her.
Gripping her hips, I lift her, wrapping her legs around my hips. I hesitate with my bare cock nudged against her entrance, when reality of what I’m about to do hits me.
“Shit. I don’t have a condom.”
“I’m on the pill,” she confesses breathlessly.
I wish she’d shared that little secret last night.
“I’m clean,” I say, barely containing myself from thrusting into her.
She gives a small nod. “Okay.”
I grip her hips, and press into her. I’ve never taken a woman bare before, never trusted anyone enough, and the feeling is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.
Her hot juices slicken my cock, so that I’m able to thrust deeper inside her.
So good.
Moans echo off the marble walls, filling the room with our sounds of pleasure.
Water cascades down our bodies, and I have to brace myself, one hand against the wall, the other gripping her ass as I pound harder and deeper inside of her until she is screaming out with her release.
I’m not far behind her. With one final thrust, I spill myself in heavy, hot spurts deep inside of her.
Ecstasy.
Bliss.
Pure fucking heaven on earth.
I can barely stand, and Brooklyn is limp against me. Slowly I help her back to her feet, then take my time washing every precious inch of her.
She doesn’t protest, but I’m pretty sure she’s too exhausted to.
When I’m finished I turn the water off, and wrap her in one of the giant cotton towels. Lifting her in my arms, I carry her back to the bed, lying down beside her.
She’s half asleep when I pull her against my chest.
For the first time in my life, I wish that I was the type of man that someone like Brooklyn deserves.
But there’s a darkness in me, and I know the longer I stay with her, the easier it’ll be to snuff out her light. And that thought is the most terrifying of all.
I will never do to Brooklyn what my father did to my mom. I’d rather end whatever this is after our weekend together than break her the way I know I can.
Any other woman I might not care.
But Brooklyn.
She’s different.
The urge to protect her, far greater than the urge to possess her.
I’ll do anything to keep her safe, even from me.
Chapter Sixteen
Brooklyn
“I don’t have anything to wear?” I say, as I sit up on the bed and watch him start to dress.
Shouldn’t we talk? Get some rules in place before leaving for the Hamptons.
He’s still my boss. At least I hope he is. He hasn’t said anything about terminating my employment.
“A woman from the boutique brought over a rack of clothes for you to choose from. They’re in the front foyer. Pick what you need for the weekend.”
“Oh.” I chew on my bottom lip and pull the covers around my breasts.
“I have a few calls to make before we leave.” He shrugs his suit jacket on while watching me.
That reminds me, I should call Dana. I’d stayed out all night and hadn't called my roommate. She’ll be worried sick. She’s the one that hooks up with the guys, sends me messages saying that I shouldn’t expect her until tomorrow. Me, on the other hand, I never go out, unless Ross tells me to do a bit of extra work on the weekend, like now.
Well, never like now.
I know she’ll tell me that sleeping with my boss, the one that I come home every night and complain about is a bad idea. She'll probably tell me off for pretending to be his girlfriend. She’ll talk sense into me, and then we’ll get some ice cream and Ramon noodles and talk about how good the sex was, but that it can never happen again.
That’s what I need. Someone to talk some sense into me. Tell me how reckless I’m being. That girls like me don’t get Cinderella stories.
“Brooklyn?” He’s looking at me like he’s expecting an answer.
“Yeah?”
“Are you all right?”
“Sure.” I blink up at him and give him the practiced smile I’ve gotten so good at. “I just need to call my roommate and let her know that I won’t be coming home.”
“Okay,” he frowns, but leans over and kisses my forehead as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. “I’ll be downstairs. Make your call and I’ll wait for you in the lobby.”
“Thanks,” I mumble, more confused than ever.
When Ross is gone, I use the hotel phone to call Dana’s cell.
She picks up as soon as it rings a couple of rings. “Hello.”
“Hey, it’s me.”
“Jesus, Brook, where have you been? Did something happen?”
I don’t know where to begin, and I start to get emotional. I feel selfish and stupid at the same time.
“Sorry.” My voice is shaky with emotion. “I should have called.”
“You’re crying? Where are you?” Her words come out in a tumble. When I don’t answer right away, she takes a deep breath, then says slowly. “Take your time and tell me what happened.”
“I’m all right.”
“Bullshit. You never stay out like this. And now you’re upset.”
“Ross is what happened.”
“Ross?” There’s a short silence on the other end, then a sharp intake of breath. “As in your boss, Ross?”
“Yes.”
“Oh my God, Brook.”
“I know.”
“Tell me everything.”
“He said he needed a date for his dad’s campaign event.” I take a deep breath. “Then, his ex was there.”
“Oh, the bitch with giant breasts and an enormous ego?”
“Yeah, that one.” I forgot that I told Dana all about her. The woman had come into the office a few times and demanded I valet her car that she’d parked in a tow away zone. She’d always looked right through me. It was no wonder she hadn’t recognized me at the event.
“And?”
“I should have left. He’s my boss and…”
“You’ve got the hots for him.”
I shake my head at her revelation. I had never told her that. Was I really that transparent?
“Yes, you are,” she says, as if reading my thoughts.
“This was such a big mistake.”
“You slept with him, didn’t you?”
And there it is.
“We didn’t do much sleeping, but yeah.”
“Oh my God. You really did it.” I swear I can hear her smiling on the other end. “I’m proud of you.”
That is so not the response I was expecting.
“We’re supposed to go to The Hamptons for the weekend.”
“Holy shit. He’s taking you to the Hamptons? When?”
“Like, right now.”
“Then get off the phone and go get yourself some more b
illionaire ass.”
A nervous laugh bubbles in my throat. Only Dana would say something like that.
“You’re terrible.” I let out a long uneven breath. She was supposed to talk me out of it. Not encourage me to go. “He’s my boss and I’m…”
“The smartest, kindest person I know. You deserve this. Go have fun.”
“Fun,” I say with a sigh.
“Yeah, you know that thing that you never do. If you don’t, you know you’ll regret it.”
I sigh heavily. “And if I do I may regret it even more.”
“I love you Brook, but if you come home now, I swear I’ll put the chain on the door.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“Try me,” she laughs.
“But what if it ends badly?”
“Then I’ll be here with a bottle of wine and a carton of Ben and Jerry’s.”
“Chocolate Mint?”
“Get off the phone and enjoy yourself. How often does a girl get invited to the Hamptons?”
Me? Never.
“You’re right.”
“I always am.”
I shake my head and say sarcastically, “What would I do without you?”
“Live a dull and pointless existence.” She laughs, then says, “Go do everything I’d do. Then come home and tell me all about it.”
I hang up, feeling a little bit better.
Dana is right. I deserve to have a little fun. I’m twenty-one years old, and I spend sixty hours a week working for a slave driver who doesn’t believe in lunch breaks or Sundays.
One more night in his arms won’t change the fact that come Monday everything will go back to the way it was, and we’ll both go on with our own separate lives.
Chapter Seventeen
Ross
I’m waiting for Brooklyn in the lobby when my phone buzzes. I curse under my breath when Ella’s name pops up.
You left early last night.
I missed you.
I expect you to make it up to me.
XOX
I shove my phone back in my pocket, ignoring her message. She’s like a virus, one that no amount of antibiotics will ever get rid of.
I know the real reason why she’s working on my father’s campaign. She’s got it in her head that my breaking up with her is temporary. That we’ve got some sort of future together. But the only future I plan on is building my business and proving to dad that I’m more than any man that he could ever be.
The elevator doors open and Brooklyn steps out. Like every time I see her, my breath gets caught in my throat, and all the blood in my body goes straight to my cock.
She’s wearing a white and yellow sundress that scoops low in the front, and hugs her curves perfectly. Blonde hair tumbles in waves down her shoulders, hiding the scar on her neck.
I know now that’s why she always wears her hair down. I haven’t asked her about it, but I plan to.
The thought that someone hurt her makes my stomach twist.
“Hi,” she says almost shyly.
“Hi.” I can’t help myself from reaching out and touching her cheek, running my knuckles across the smooth skin.
Her face is clean of make-up, and that’s how I like it. Her skin is flawless, with a dusting of freckles that she usually hides under concealer.
“Everything all right?”
“Yes, I just needed to call my roommate and let her know I wasn’t coming home.”
I raise an eyebrow, wondering what her roommate had to say on the subject. “And?”
“I told her about our…arrangement.” She glances away. “I didn’t want her to worry.”
Our arrangement. The word leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. But she’s right.
Despite the emotions that she stirs, this can’t be anything more.
I give a brisk nod and drop my hand. “I’ll have the driver get the rest of your things.”
“They are not my things,” she says coolly, a hint of defensiveness in her voice.
“Of course they are. Everything I bought for you this weekend is yours.”
She shakes her head. “I can’t–”
“It’s not negotiable, Brooklyn.” I don’t know why, but I’m suddenly feeling defensive, like she’s already walked away from me. Which is a complete asshole response, because I’m the one that will walk away after this weekend.
But the thought of her pulling away makes my skin prickle.
Maybe I’m just on edge after my call with the board of directors this morning. The second quarter has seen a slight drop compared to the first, and I need this weekend to go smoothly.
Getting Stevan Holdgates to give me his portfolio is the goal. I’ve played gold with him on occasion, but never managed to lock the bastard into listening to my business proposition.
With him on board, White Industry would double its revenue in the third quarter.
That’s what I need to focus on this weekend. Not the fact that come Monday, I’ll no longer be able to touch my sweet, little assistant whenever I want.
Chapter Eighteen
Brooklyn
The limo pulls out into traffic and we’re on the road, ready for the weekend at the Hamptons.
I still can’t believe I’m doing this. Any of it. I fidget with the hem of my sundress and glance out the window, watching the city pass us by.
“Are you hungry?” Ross asks, opening the small mini fridge, and pulling out a fruit bowl.
I shake my head. “I don’t eat breakfast.”
“That’s not healthy.” He frowns.
“Says the man whose primary source of food is coffee.” I bite my bottom lip after the words spill from my mouth.
“Coffee isn’t a food.” He places the fruit back in the fridge, then leans back, watching me, a small smile tugging at his lips.
“It comes from a bean. Plus, you add cream, which is technically liquid food, and then sugar–”
“You’re rambling.” He scoots closer to me.
“Am I?” My breath catches in my throat as he leans in closer, his lips so close to mine I can feel the heat radiating from him.
When he looks at me like that I can almost believe that this thing between us is real.
“You are.” His hand slips between my thighs.
A small whimper leaves my lips as his fingers push my panties aside.
“You’re insatiable, Mr. White,” I say breathlessly.
“Only for you, Miss. Walsh.”
How am I supposed to argue with that? I can’t move even if I want to.
One finger presses into me, and I’ll I can do is close my eyes and melt into him.
I used to fantasize about having sex in a limo. I never thought that Ross would be the one. This whole situation is insane. Things like this only happen in the movies, not in real life.
My body is kicking into overdrive as his rawness radiates over me. When he’s got his mind set on something, there’s a determined animal that comes out of him. It’s as if he has the power to control me.
And I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like it.
He captures my lips, his tongue sweeping into my mouth, and sending bolts of electricity shooting down my body.
“Look at me Brooklyn.” His voice is demanding, and I can’t help but obey.
Will any other man ever be able to affect me the way he does?
One hand cups my pussy, and I press against it, needing his touch to drive away, the thoughts of what will happen when this weekend is over, when I have to return to real life. His other hand is in my hair, pulling my head back gently, so that he has full access to my mouth, my jaw, my neck.
This is all I want from him, to take away the weight of the problems that Monday will bring, and concentrate on here and now.
“Can they see us?” I ask breathlessly when we’re stopped at a red light. The glass is tinted, but I’m still incredibly aware of the shifting crowd and other cars visible all around us. There are people everywhere.
“No.” He
grins, then shifts so that he’s kneeling on the floor between my legs.
“And the driver?” We’re separated by a privacy window, but still, couldn’t he hear us?
“No one can see or hear us.” His fingers wrap around my panties and he slowly pulls them down my thighs.
A surge of excitement swells inside of me. Sex in a limo has always been on top of my fantasy lists. And with Ross White, it only makes the experience sweeter.
He slides between my legs, and his mouth is on my pussy, his hands gripping my ass, tugging me closer so that his lips and tongue can work their magic.
And his mouth is magic. So is his cock, but his tongue…my God, I’ve never come so hard, even with my Magic Wand, then when his mouth is on me.
I tangle my fingers in his hair, as he devours me.
“I love the taste of you,” he growls, the vibration sending a rush of pleasure through my pussy.
Gripping the edge of the seat, I toss my head back and let him consume me.
Electric-hot heat pulses through every inch of my body, and I shudder as my orgasm sends wave after wave of pleasure cascading through every nerve in my body.
“Ross,” I cry out, barely able to take all the sensations.
It’s too much and I try to pull back, but he doesn’t let me.
His mouth keeps working on me, and he holds me tight, as I’m pushed further over the edge than I’ve ever been.
I’m shouting now, and I’m sure the driver and everyone on the street around us can hear me. But I don’t care, because I can’t think. All I can do is feel. And what I feel is the most intense orgasm of my life.
He holds me until I come down from the high, his mouth still nestled between my thighs.
“So much better than breakfast,” he murmurs, before placing one last kiss between my legs.
I couldn’t agree more.
Effortlessly, he lifts me up, so that I’m straddling him, my forehead resting on his shoulder.
“That was…” More than words can define.
I can feel the bulge in his pants as my sex rests on it. There's only cloth separating him from being inside of me.
“I didn’t realize it could be this good,” I say breathlessly against the crook of his neck.
