Roses for His Omega Page 4

by Lorelei M. Hart

“Want me to come back later?”

I stood back, realizing I’d been blocking the door, which was far from my intent. Although going inside lowered the odds of us eating dinner anytime soon.

“Heck no.” I kissed his cheek as he stepped inside, shutting the door behind him. “I was wondering how I was going to distract myself while I waited.”

“I know the feeling,” he groaned as he nestled his nose into the crook of my neck, inhaling deeply.

  “Everything good on the flo—”

He cut me off with a kiss, one that stole my breath away.

“Less talking,” he mumbled against my lips. “More kissing.”

That was something I could get behind.

Twenty minutes later, we finally left my room to go on our date, agreeing we were going to need sustenance for what we both wanted to come next.

  Chapter Eight

  Kayson

There was really no reason to drive my car to pick him up in this little town, but for some reason I wanted to impress Reid. And my 1974 Charger impressed everyone.

“Here you go.” I opened the passenger door. He slid into the seat, making sure his tight body grazed against all the right places as he did. With a smirk, he put his feet in and then locked eyes with me as I shut the door.

The man was a professional at sultry eye contact.

It required all of my will not to take him right there in the hotel room. Reid’s scent was all lust and lure and everything that called to my core.

I knew his plan was to leave after the wedding, but my plan was to convince him to stay, be my omega, put that cradle Aunt Viv bought to good use.

“I’m figuring there aren’t any Michelin starred restaurants in Mapleville. There’s what, a diner and a cliché Italian place? No offense.”

“It’s actually a Greek place, and the diner is only open for breakfast, starts at three a.m. But I know a better place with a much better cook.”

There were only two ways to get Vivian Stark to cook. The first was if she thought a home-cooked meal would seal the deal with whatever lover she’d chosen to take. And the second was if I was bringing a boy home.

This was the latter. Reid was Aunt Viv’s beef bourguignon with her fancy french potatoes worthy. When I’d called her last minute to cook for us, I’d expected a no, but she agreed.

“I might be underdressed. I didn’t pack a lot. Dating wasn’t really in the plans.”

I turned to look at him at the next stop sign. “Some of the best things in life aren’t planned, Reid.”

“That’s true.” I about melted into the metal of the car when he winked at me before I hit the gas pedal again.

We made it to Aunt Viv’s Victorian-style home minutes later.

“Just wait, okay?” I went around to his side and opened the door for him.

“Such a gentleman,” he said, again brushing against me, making me instantly hard and wanting over and over.

I took his coat in my hand, pulling him toward me, making sure his lips were touching mine, but barely. “I’m not always a gentleman. But I think you already know that, don’t you?”

He nodded. His tongue flicked out and ran across his bottom lip.

Yeah, Reid was the omega I’d been looking for.

“Come on, before I do something in my aunt’s yard that she might either scold me or be proud of me for. I never know anymore.”

His hearty laugh broke the tension between us, and he leaned forward to peck me quickly on the cheek. “I’m counting on it—the non-gentleman part.”

We walked hand in hand up to the front door. “Well hello! Damn, if only two fine men were at my door every night, I wouldn’t need those little machines.”

I squinted but then knew what she meant. “Aunt Viv, let’s not talk about your machines tonight, okay?”

Her eyebrow cocked, “Okay, but they sure are fun.” She opened the door wide and let us in. I sidled back up to Reid.

“What’s the deal with machines?” he whispered. I grinned at him. “Vibrators. She calls them her little machines. But, don’t worry. You won’t be needing one anytime soon.”

His face reddened and stayed that way while Aunt Viv seated us and presented a meal that was way over-the-top, even for my flamboyant aunt.

“Thank you, Vivian. This looks and smells divine.”

Aunt Viv shrugged. “I know. Just like me. Enjoy, you two. I’ll be with one of my own boys if you need me.”

We watched her put on her fur shawl and dab on extra lipstick before waving. The door shutting was my cue to let out the breath I’d been holding.

“This looks amazing. And here I thought I’d be getting something akin to SpaghettiOs.”

I smiled at him before divvying up some of the beef. “It’s not that bad here. Mapleville has small-town charm with progressive ideas. It’s like the town the Gilmore Girls live in.”

He cut a bite of food with great precision and put it in his mouth before closing his eyes and making a sound I thought must be close to the one he made while climaxing. I would test that theory out later.

“Good?” I questioned with a smile.

“It’s excellent. I needed a bit of energy after all the activity today.”

“Activity? What else have you been up to today?”

He shrugged before the blush returned to his face. “Enjoying myself—a lot—with you in mind.”

I gasped but could form no words in my mind. It took all my control not to climb over Aunt Viv’s twentieth-century dining table and take him right then and there.

“Hey, it’s your fault, leaving me like that, with the picture of you on your knees as my last memory.”

I took a sip of red wine. “Well, I’ll have to make up for that. Any more of this talk and we won’t make it through dinner. Tell me more about you, Reid. What kind of work do you do?”

He undid the top button of his shirt. Good, he was as hot as I was.

“I’m a graphic designer. Mostly I do websites, but lately I’ve been working on a project that I shouldn’t have. A project you might’ve seen.”

My brow furrowed in confusion. “What would that be?”

“Knox and Celeste’s wedding invitations, signs, decorations, favors. You name it, this dumbass designed them.”

Reid was far from a dummy. Those designs for the wedding would be the classiest part of the whole event, plus the flowers, of course.

“Why dumbass? I’ve seen those invitations and favors. They aren’t cheesy like the majority of weddings. You did great and, if I do say so myself, they complement my flowers stunningly.”

“Well, thank you. I’m a dumbass for agreeing to do the work for almost 90 percent less than I usually do because Knox was my ex-alpha. Sometimes I’m too gullible—too nice. I get taken advantage of.”

I could see that about him. Nice was a good quality, except when others recognized it. Then it became a liability.

“Well, you need a good alpha to protect you from assholes, that’s all.”

He eyed me across the table. “But I’m not looking for an alpha. I’ve tried looking. All it got me was heartache.”

I reached for his hand and took it in mine. “Maybe there’s a good alpha looking for you, then. One who won’t hurt you. One who will protect and care for you.”

  “One like you?” he quipped.

“I wasn’t saying that,” I joked. “Get over yourself.”

His smile told me he got my jest. The stirring in my belly told me he was already mine.

  Chapter Nine

  Reid

We couldn’t get out of there fast enough—I couldn’t, anyway. The night was amazing and romantic and fun, but we were in his aunt’s house. An aunt who brought home her date and told us not to rush because they were going upstairs to work off dinner. No. Just no.

“Is she always like this?” I asked as we got out the front door, far away from the noises I tried to pretend were not, in fact, sex noises.

“She’s never shy, if that’s what you mean.” He just shook his head and, really, what were the other options.

“My place or yours?” Kayson asked me, as he took my hand.

“I thought you lived here.” He’d never said he had, but I’d assumed. I knew better.

“No, just wanted to treat you to a nice dinner, and this town is hurting for nice places to eat.”

We walked down the steps and toward the car, hand in hand. The sweet gesture was belly fluttering and new and had me thinking all the things I shouldn’t, given the time limit to this whatever it was we were doing.

“It was delicious.” It had been, too. Delicious and entertaining and smexy all rolled into one.

“So, my place or yours?” Kayson repeated his question as we got to the car, where he immediately had my back against the car and his body pressed against mine, his lips brushing mine as he spoke.

“Whichever is closest—” I let out before giving in to the temptation that was his lips. I reluctantly broke our kiss, needing to get someplace where we could be relieved of our clothing.

“The hotel,” he answered after we were settled into the car. “My house is about a half mile past it.”

“Then hotel it is,” I agreed as he drove faster than was legal, but nowhere near fast enough for me. It was all I could do not to run my hands up and down his thigh, just grazing his cock to set him even more aflame, but self-preservation won out, and I sat on my hands until we arrived at the hotel, safe and sound.

We didn’t exactly run to my room, but no one seeing us would describe us as walking, either.

I fumbled with the key—who has keys at hotels anymore?—and found myself inside my room, my back pressed against the now-closed door, and Kayson deliciously pressed up against me.

“I have been waiting for this forever,” he mumbled before kissing my neck, exploring the spot where my scent was the strongest and nearly knocking me on my knees.

“We only met today,” I teased and was rewarded with a nibble on my neck. The rest of my taunt fell away.

He worked his way back up to my ears, murmuring, “Tell me you don’t feel the same,” before he nibbled there, as well. He was a nibbler. Hot fucking damn.

“I do,” I moaned as his teeth went back to grazing my neck. I’d never known how much of an erogenous zone my neck was. “Too many clothes.” I reached down to unbutton his pants as he pulled back enough to tug off his shirt.

I went straight for his bare chest, kissing, nibbling, licking, and sucking as my hands finished the job of opening his pants and pushing them down. He stepped out of the legs, my mouth never leaving his delectable body as he was finally naked.

  Thump. Thump. Thump.

Kayson was tapping on my head, but breaking away from him was more than a challenge, it was impossible. His hands came to my cheeks helping direct my face to his, his eyes hooded and the scent of his lust pouring off him. Sexiest. Sight. Ever.

“Clothes. Off. Now,” he all but grunted, and I immediately replied, standing with him completely naked, cock bobbing up and down before him within a minute flat. “Much better.”

And like that, he was pressed against me, kissing me with such fervor, such intensity that all I could do was feel.

As the back of my knees hit the mattress, I realized we were moving and allowed myself to fall back. Kayson’s lips never left mine as we scooched back until both of us were completely on the bed, our bodies pressed together, our cocks side by side, waiting for more. Heck, I was waiting for more.

“I need your knot,” I almost demanded when our kiss broke, my words barely audible, my breath so shallow. “I need it.” I was begging, and I could give two shits.

“Condom?” he asked, and I froze beneath him. Shit. Fuck me sideways and call me Larry.

“I don’t have one.” My head dropped back on the comforter.

“No, do… Do we need it?”

  Hallehfreakingluiah.

“Yes. No. I don’t know.” Why did he have to ask all the hard questions, which were basically any questions that weren’t can I knot you at that moment in time. “I’ll take your look of panic as a yes.”

And then he did the unthinkable and got off the bed.

I let out a whimper. I had no shame.

“Hold on there, sexy, I’m just getting ready for you. Are you ready for me?”

I heard him fumbling with his pants but couldn’t see him from my angle.

“I asked you a question. Are you ready for me? How is your hole. Check it.”

Holy. Shit. He made searching his pockets for a condom the sexiest thing ever.

I reached down and found my hole slick, just as I knew it would be.

“So very.” I gave him my assessment as he crawled back on the bed. “I want to see you,” I let out far too meekly. He was all telling me exactly what he wanted, and there I was barely able to let him know I wanted to be face-to-face.

“Perfect,” he agreed as he crawled up my body, tapping my thighs apart and pushing my knees toward my head so he could get a good look at what I was offering him. “So fucking perfect.”

Instead of getting inside me like I had been begging him, he leaned down, allowing him to take my cock in his mouth. I nearly came with that first suck, my body quaking inside his mouth.

“So responsive,” he praised before descending again, this time as his finger danced around my slick hole.

He continued to work my cock as his fingers teased, but never breached my entrance. How I wasn’t shooting down his throat instantly would forever remain a mystery.

“Now,” I gasped, needing more of him. “Teasing later. Knotting now.”

He slowly, far too fucking slowly, kissed his way up my body. “Demanding little omega. Asking for what you need. Sexy as sin.” And as he spoke, he slid slowly inside me, filling me just as I had needed.

  “Yes,” I hissed.

He kissed me soundly before he started to move, slowly at first, increasing his speed as I matched him movement for movement. He fit me so perfectly, as if I was made for him and he for me. I was so close to coming, trying to hold back and savor the moment, but completely unable to do so.

  “I can’t—I can’t—”

“Come for me, my omega. Show me how much you want me.”

Somehow, his permission had me letting go and shooting cum all over my chest as he sped up, following me shortly thereafter before crashing his lips to mine, my cum pressed between us as his knot grew.

“Best sex ever,” I admitted as his head fell beside mine, both of us completely spent.

“Agreed,” he whispered, his breath slowing.

We lay like that, not talking, both of us in a half-sleepy state until his knot subsided and we separated.

“Stay,” I whined as he started to get up.

“You couldn’t get me away from you if you tried,” he teased before kissing my nose. “I need to get rid of the— Fuck.”

“What?” I sat up, not liking the sound of his panic.

  “The condom is empty.”

“Shit. I’m sorry.” Of course it wasn’t as good for him as it was for me. Such is my freaking life. “I thought you came.” I let my head flop down on the pillow.

“Oh, I came harder than I ever have before.”

I looked up at him, trying to figure out what I was missing.

“It’s not empty because there was no deposit.” He looked down at his now-softening cock.

“It broke.” Understanding finally dawned on me.

  “Or has a hole.”

I did a quick timeline in my head of when I’d had my last heat. It had been long enough ago that a new one was on the horizon, but not close enough I brought my suppressants. We were fine. Nothing could have happened. No babies here. I hoped. Hoped-ish.

The sick part of me wouldn’t have minded if I had gotten pregnant. I’d been feeling my biological clock for many months now, which was the only reason I could explain the temporary insanity that was my Ma
ybe I should move in with Topher, lapse in judgement.

“I should be fine,” I reassured as he got back from disposing of the useless condom. I patted the bed for him to join me. He just stood there like a deer in headlights.

“I’m so sorry.” His sincerity was overwhelmingly sweet. He was a keeper. Why did he have to live so many hours away?

“Never. Ever. Apologize for sex that amazing. It ruins things. It will be fine. I’m not even in heat.” I patted the bed beside me again. “Now, hurry up and get back to bed. I’m a big-time cuddler, and I need your arms wrapped around me.”

  This time, he complied.

  Chapter Ten

  Kayson

My eyes fluttered as I woke up, but I tried not to move. I loved the early morning where I was the only one awake, especially after a night as incredible as last night with Reid.

My hand rested lightly on his hip, but the rest of our bodies weren’t touching. He was turned away from me, the ends of his hair curled up. There was a freckle right in the middle of his back. I tried to take it all in, commit it all to memory.

The boy slept hot. He’d thrown off every bit of covers little by little through the night and turned the fan on sometime in between. The only strip of sheet lay across his knees. I chuckled with my hand covering my mouth as not to wake him. It seemed Reid was always on fire.

I stayed like that for a few minutes, denying the need to check the time. Time would mean I needed to get up, face reality and bridezilla.

Time would mean this bubble we had created would have to pop, if only for a few hours.

Not ready didn’t even cover my resistance.

Closing my eyes again, I listened to the sound of Reid’s breathing. The rhythm pulled over my body and warmed me from the inside out. This man beside me was my omega. No point in denying the fact.

Even with my eyes closed, the sunlight creeping into the room forced me to face the morning.

  Damn you, sunshine.

“It’s almost seven.” His voice startled me, gruff and hoarse, so different from his usual smooth lilt, sending delicious shivers down my torso and into my thighs.
